00:00A 23-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed police constable Dale Myers in mid-May
00:05appeared virtually before Master Shabika Kazaban today, charged with his murder,
00:10as well as possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
00:13Myers, who was buried last week, was shot dead at a bar in Chagonas on May 14,
00:19while in the company of his wife and another friend.
00:22Accused in Myers' killing is Ishmael Clark, an unemployed man whose place of residence
00:28in George Street, Port of Spain. The sufficiency hearing date has been set for February 28, 2025.
00:35The suspect was held by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations
00:38at the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound,
00:43following the murder of the policeman.
00:46Deputy Director, Public Prosecution, Subrema, Doug Dean Jaglal on Thursday
00:50last advised that he be charged with the offences. The charges were laid the following day.
00:56A 40-year-old penile man was expected to appear before a South Court master today,
01:01charged with murder. According to police reports, the accused, Joseph Roderick,
01:05was arrested following an altercation at a bar on Saturday, May 18,
01:10in which 30-year-old Shiva Sukram was stabbed multiple times.
01:14Sukram was taken to hospital but died a day later.
01:17Roderick was later charged for the offence after inquiries were conducted
01:21and instructions given by the Acting Deputy Director, Public Prosecutions.
