00:00 Hello there. About two-thirds of the country is seeing somewhat wet weather on Thursday
00:04 with gales across the Irish sea coast and the North Channel. So yes, more wet weather
00:08 on its way. All courtesy of these areas of low pressure really affecting Scotland through
00:14 the next few days. But even some wet weather further south across Northern Ireland, Northern
00:18 England for a time on Friday as this system pushes northwards. And this rain warning extends
00:24 from Friday and into Saturday across the Western Highlands as well as the islands. Elsewhere,
00:29 a ridge of high pressure extends from the south through Friday, some fine conditions
00:33 and it turns much warmer as temperatures rise into the 20s. We hang on to some rain though
00:38 across the far north of Scotland. Now let's backtrack to Wednesday evening where it's
00:42 rather drizzly with some outbreaks of rain, the far north of England, the far south of
00:46 Scotland as well as Northern Ireland, although Belfast may get away with it through evening
00:50 time. Towards the north, some clearer skies, more clouds towards the south, one or two
00:55 passing showers here across the Channel Coast and Irish Sea Coast. But notice what's happening
00:59 towards the west. The cloud will thicken through the early hours of the morning when the first
01:03 of the rain will arrive across Northern Ireland and to end the night it's going to be rather
01:07 chilly across Aberdeenshire, Caithness as well as Sutherland and the Cairngorms. But
01:12 this mass of wet weather continues its passage eastwards and northwards through Friday morning.
01:19 It's a dry morning for the Midlands, East Anglia, as well as Lincolnshire, central southern
01:23 England, even the west country seeing some hazy sunshine. But notice some patchy rain
01:27 moving in across Ceredigion, Anglesey, Gwynedd, pushing up towards Lancashire, Liverpool Bay
01:33 as well as Cumbria, covering much of Scotland through the morning into the afternoon. Northern
01:38 Ireland seeing some brighter weather to the end of the day, still very windy here and
01:44 some heavier pulses of rain can't be ruled out across the north west of England, the
01:47 far north of Wales through the latter part of the day as that rain pushes up towards
01:52 Orkney, covering again much of Scotland. Windy conditions here, a bright end to the day for
01:59 the south Midlands, southwards and eastwards. Now through Thursday evening and overnight
02:03 we could see some drizzly bits and pieces just extending down towards East Anglia as
02:07 well as Wales. Certainly for the western islands as well as the west highlands you'll see drizzly
02:13 weather, low cloud here, intense rain for Shetland as it clears, Orkney strong winds
02:19 here and some more showery bursts of rain arrive through the early hours of Friday morning
02:24 across Northern Ireland. Again prone spots, north west England, Wales, south west Scotland.
02:30 Will turn windy here, although it will be a mild start to Friday across much of central
02:35 and eastern areas of England. Eastern Scotland, northern Scotland also seeing some fine conditions
02:39 to start the day, although it will be windy. And through the day this area of cloud and
02:43 rain intensifies as it moves northwards, hence the reason why there's a warning for that
02:49 rain from around lunchtime across the western side of Scotland. We could see some rain just
02:54 lingering on across border regions as well as Northumberland into the afternoon. But
02:59 for the bulk of England and Wales it's a fine day, it's a bright one, it's a warmer one,
03:02 18 to 22 degrees Celsius. And that sort of subtropical air does mean temperatures will
03:08 be around 19 or 20 for central and southern parts of Scotland. So here's your outlook
03:13 through Thursday. That rain lingers across central and northern areas of Scotland, but
03:17 on Sunday most places will be fine and dry. Temperatures around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.
03:23 Stay tuned to the forecast and I'll keep you posted here on all our social media channels.
03:27 I'll see you later.
