00:47stable shows in millions of british households what about great british bake off makes it such

00:53like a comfort watch i think i mean starting off it's got a very nice vibe like the whole vibe of

01:01the whole thing is that it's nice like the contestants are nice to each other the judges are

01:06you know sort of quirky and nice not particularly harsh you know the presenters are nice comedians

01:12as well they're not you know they're not making jokes at the expense of the the contestants and i

01:18mean the biggest i guess scandal in what 15 years i was looking up it's uh 2010 when it started so

01:24it's been on for 15 years the biggest scandal was the baked alaska thing if if people remember that

01:29where yeah and that's what one major scandal in 15 years so it's very comforting like you know

01:37exactly what you're going to get when you sit down to watch so i think there's yeah just something nice

01:42warm and comfy about that so like even despite the viewership having fallen off for bake off

01:48there's obviously still um an appetite excuse the pardon for yeah speaking and cooking shows

01:56i think i mean one of the the main things is we all have to eat food we all have to like either even

02:03if we don't cook someone in the house will probably cook so it's something that everyone can relate

02:09to you know like say like top gear not everyone drives not everyone's that into cars so you're not

02:15you sort of lose that whereas like food like everyone has to eat we all have to have food and i

02:20think it's also that so there's that aspirational side to it but it also still feels achievable you know
