00:02:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:02:29 And a very special good afternoon, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:02:38 I'm Marlon Hopkins.
00:02:39 Your son is back.
00:02:40 Yes, he had to take some time off.
00:02:42 Sometimes you need to take some time to smell the roses.
00:02:46 And you see, sometimes you need to take some time
00:02:48 to get away from certain company.
00:02:50 [LAUGHING]
00:02:52 Yeah, I understand what you're saying.
00:02:54 I mean, you know, ease your mind, ease your brain.
00:02:59 Right, take down the tension.
00:03:00 Ease the tension.
00:03:02 Ease the tension?
00:03:03 Yeah.
00:03:05 These weeks have been some tension-filled weeks.
00:03:07 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:03:09 And of course, we do have the election on Monday coming up.
00:03:12 Oh, my word.
00:03:12 So Senior Superintendent of the IATF, Roger D. Alexander,
00:03:15 is here.
00:03:16 I understand that the police would
00:03:18 have announced when it was.
00:03:20 Sometime this week.
00:03:21 Can't remember if it was yesterday or the day before.
00:03:24 But plans for the coverage of election on Monday.
00:03:28 So I suspect the plans remain the same.
00:03:31 And the rules remain the same.
00:03:33 Don't play your putting on any type of color jersey
00:03:36 and going by the people polling station.
00:03:38 And don't come and linger.
00:03:40 Yeah.
00:03:40 You come, you vote, you go.
00:03:42 Yeah.
00:03:43 Don't come and linger.
00:03:44 Yeah.
00:03:44 Don't linger.
00:03:45 Oh, you're standing up to wait on the MP,
00:03:47 because the MP know you, and you have a bag of mango.
00:03:50 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:03:51 Go down the road and--
00:03:52 Bag of mango.
00:03:53 Right?
00:03:53 Go down the road and do that.
00:03:55 But let me tell you something, Senior Soup.
00:03:57 And I was just making some fun during the break.
00:04:02 But I think that the time that we grew up,
00:04:06 it was a time--
00:04:09 it was a special time in Trinidad and Tobago,
00:04:12 in the '90s, early '90s, where the--
00:04:18 and it could have been earlier than that.
00:04:19 It was earlier than that, where the dub music
00:04:25 was coming into Trinidad.
00:04:26 Yeah.
00:04:27 Right?
00:04:27 And at that time, it had a lot of gun songs and so on.
00:04:31 So we grew up on that.
00:04:32 On the maticness.
00:04:33 Yeah, but what was strange about that period, though,
00:04:37 is that we never felt that we should
00:04:41 do what is in the song.
00:04:43 Never.
00:04:43 And I don't know what is responsible for that.
00:04:47 We felt maybe it was just a song,
00:04:50 and it was nothing to act out.
00:04:53 But today, some of the songs that I'm hearing on the radio,
00:04:58 and I'm hearing from local artists too,
00:05:02 I'm just wondering, because I think the argument would be,
00:05:06 well, this is what we have been exposed to in our communities.
00:05:12 Yeah.
00:05:12 [INAUDIBLE]
00:05:15 OK, that is what you are exposed to.
00:05:17 The book of speak to that.
00:05:18 But when you sing about it, and you sing about it
00:05:22 in some of the worst ways, what sort of message or messages
00:05:26 are you sending to the other young people?
00:05:30 Because I'm listening to the messages,
00:05:31 and a lot of the messages are not--
00:05:34 They are not messages.
00:05:35 Well, they are not good messages.
00:05:38 It's like you're attempting to indict yourself.
00:05:41 Everybody wants to sing a rape song.
00:05:44 Yeah.
00:05:45 And everybody wants to sing about your private area,
00:05:48 and what it is I want to do, and what you will do,
00:05:51 and what I will do to you.
00:05:52 And it is the most amazing thing.
00:05:55 And I'm saying to myself, and that
00:05:56 is why I talk about the block.
00:05:58 You see that block?
00:05:59 You can never learn nothing on that block.
00:06:02 That block is a dead end.
00:06:03 And the block--
00:06:04 That block is for blockhead.
00:06:06 You can never learn nothing on that block.
00:06:08 Block it and from going on the block.
00:06:08 Right?
00:06:10 So just imagine that young people are getting
00:06:15 these messages every day.
00:06:16 Boom, boom, boom, boom.
00:06:18 What do you think they're going to do?
00:06:21 Well, let me--
00:06:22 That is all they know.
00:06:23 Let me jump in here slightly to the left.
00:06:26 Now, I have a song.
00:06:27 If I sing this song, you'll tell me the lyrics about it.
00:06:31 I'm afraid of your song, too.
00:06:33 I'm afraid of your song.
00:06:34 Let me talk to everybody hiding.
00:06:36 So here's what I'm saying to myself,
00:06:37 because you know what I realize?
00:06:39 Social media have removed persons from themselves
00:06:44 and put persons who they believe they are into them.
00:06:46 Yes, yes, yes.
00:06:47 It's as simple as that.
00:06:48 Yes.
00:06:48 Because if I'm a rap singer, a rap artist, or dancehall artist,
00:06:55 and I sing in a song, but then that whole thing
00:07:02 starts to become me.
00:07:03 I'm involved in shooting.
00:07:05 And I-- you know what I mean?
00:07:07 It's sort of consuming, because what I sing in,
00:07:10 I start to act out.
00:07:11 Yeah.
00:07:12 And then there are some persons who sit down and look at social
00:07:15 media and say, you know what?
00:07:16 I want to be just like him.
00:07:20 You know what?
00:07:22 My name is not Roger from today.
00:07:23 And I give myself the name now.
00:07:28 So I watch him, what he wearing.
00:07:30 I watch him, what he eating.
00:07:31 I watch him, what he saying, where he wearing the pants.
00:07:35 Hold on.
00:07:37 RTD, RTD.
00:07:39 Where your pants, how you're displaying yourself
00:07:41 and all of that.
00:07:42 So I start to feel like it's me.
00:07:44 And I don't know why you bring up this point this evening,
00:07:47 because--
00:07:48 I don't know how we got here.
00:07:50 I wanted to bring something forward to you
00:07:52 and ask you this question.
00:07:54 So it's all in the mix.
00:07:55 And the people on the outside could also
00:07:58 call and give us the opening.
00:08:01 The Toronto-Megapolice Service has embraced technology.
00:08:05 New age policing.
00:08:08 We keep statistics.
00:08:09 And as a result of that, we are able to act from the statistics
00:08:14 that we have to put things in place to prevent crime.
00:08:17 And all of that.
00:08:19 My question to myself today was this.
00:08:22 Self?
00:08:23 Yeah, self.
00:08:24 I said, self.
00:08:26 How come in all of this I just mentioned and all the things
00:08:30 that we are doing, how come we never
00:08:36 try to get into the minds or heads of the criminal element
00:08:39 in Toronto?
00:08:42 But we have spoken about that.
00:08:44 Because-- hear what I'm saying?
00:08:45 It is there the change has to happen.
00:08:47 That's what I'm saying.
00:08:48 So hear what I'm saying.
00:08:49 Not just the-- we might try on the outside to get to them
00:08:53 before it reaches this.
00:08:55 But what about when a man commits an offense?
00:08:58 Who interviews him?
00:09:00 The police?
00:09:00 Yeah.
00:09:02 How come we don't have a professional
00:09:06 be part of that interviewing team that probably
00:09:10 could look at him and look at his body language
00:09:14 and assess him all along those lines?
00:09:16 Because, Marlon Hopkinson, if we are using technology
00:09:21 and all these different mechanisms
00:09:22 that we have in place to treat with crime
00:09:24 and they are still occurring, but then we
00:09:27 need to go directly to the source, what
00:09:29 is the problem?
00:09:30 Because two men might not have the same issues
00:09:32 with respect to crime.
00:09:35 Yeah, you're right.
00:09:36 So then why are we not going down that particular road?
00:09:39 Because it's difficult.
00:09:41 But then if you're looking for solutions, it can't be.
00:09:43 It's difficult. It's difficult. It's
00:09:45 easier to set up a new prison.
00:09:49 It's easier to provide more resources to the police.
00:09:54 It's easier to put more cameras in place.
00:09:56 It's easier than to change one's mind and one's attitude
00:10:02 and bad attitude at that.
00:10:04 It's very, very difficult.
00:10:05 Because we have-- all right, we also
00:10:07 have the witness and victim support unit.
00:10:11 You hear the persons I call?
00:10:13 But nowhere in that spoke to the accused person
00:10:21 that is causing the problem in the first place.
00:10:25 Why are we not--
00:10:26 why we don't have professionals sitting among the investigators
00:10:32 to see if we could unearth why this man is doing this?
00:10:39 With the recent times, suicides have been the order of the day.
00:10:46 Yeah, it's been increased that.
00:10:47 Up to last night--
00:10:49 it's last night?
00:10:51 Up to last night, prison officer, Mr. Childs,
00:11:02 something happened.
00:11:03 We don't know.
00:11:05 And many a times, we speculate.
00:11:07 Because sometimes, to be honest, the family don't know.
00:11:14 He was just so cool all day, and then boom.
00:11:18 He was doing everything.
00:11:20 And we talked to friends, tell them all these things,
00:11:22 and then boom.
00:11:22 And that's it.
00:11:26 It's about time for us to start to get
00:11:31 into the minds of persons who are committing offenses
00:11:34 so we have a better understanding of it.
00:11:36 But you see, all of that has to happen at a very early age.
00:11:40 Because as we have discussed over and over,
00:11:42 when we go into school, it's always about academics.
00:11:46 I'm seeing that things are changing now.
00:11:48 Somewhat.
00:11:48 Yeah, I'm seeing that.
00:11:50 But also, we need to give life lessons to people.
00:11:54 Because we-- I don't know.
00:11:56 We pretend.
00:11:57 Maybe we feel that life is an easy thing.
00:12:00 Life is not an easy thing.
00:12:03 You can have everything--
00:12:05 And still you're happy.
00:12:07 And be unhappy and feel alone.
00:12:12 We need to teach young men and women
00:12:15 how to deal with relationships.
00:12:16 And more so when relationships fail, how to deal with it.
00:12:20 Because sometimes you have invested so much
00:12:24 in an individual.
00:12:26 And when that relationship fails,
00:12:28 you feel that's the end of your life.
00:12:31 So all of this we need to teach.
00:12:34 That should be a part of the curriculum.
00:12:37 So while I'm glad to hear that only one can put pan,
00:12:41 and all of that on the curriculum.
00:12:45 Yeah.
00:12:46 Life lessons.
00:12:47 Simple thing--
00:12:51 Coping mechanisms.
00:12:52 Yeah.
00:12:53 Respect for people, respect for country,
00:12:56 respect for oneself.
00:12:59 Right?
00:13:00 The escalation of situations.
00:13:04 A number of things can be put in the mix in order to help us.
00:13:09 But we go--
00:13:10 We're living in a country where--
00:13:11 but it's a lot of advantage taking place
00:13:14 in Trinidad and Tobago.
00:13:16 So I see what you have.
00:13:18 So here's what.
00:13:19 I want it.
00:13:20 I'm a better man than you.
00:13:21 I want it.
00:13:22 So you see that?
00:13:22 You had to give me that because I'm better than you.
00:13:25 You know what I mean?
00:13:26 And you see how you're looking there?
00:13:28 You see how small you're looking there?
00:13:30 And you're wearing glasses.
00:13:31 And I see in you, look at how you're looking.
00:13:33 You're looking like an imp.
00:13:34 I come in.
00:13:35 I bite off your head.
00:13:36 I bite off your head.
00:13:37 Yeah.
00:13:38 Yeah.
00:13:39 I chewed it in there.
00:13:40 Yeah, come.
00:13:43 And that's how it is unfolding.
00:13:45 A number of persons called also.
00:13:48 And they were totally in agreement
00:13:54 with the conversation Koko Lali and I had yesterday
00:13:59 with respect to obtaining money by menace.
00:14:03 Well, I see people have been arrested, not so?
00:14:05 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:14:06 We're just playing.
00:14:07 You see, it's just to inform police officers.
00:14:11 Yeah.
00:14:12 Well, before we even move on from that point,
00:14:15 let's speak about it.
00:14:17 So three persons have appeared in court jointly charged
00:14:19 with demanding money by menace from a Dabbadee man.
00:14:22 They are Joel Patrick, 24, and Lorenzo Julian, 24,
00:14:26 both of Diego Martin, and KVN Alexis, 26, of Dabbadee.
00:14:31 They appeared before magistrate.
00:14:32 Patrick was granted bail in the sum of $300,000 with assurity.
00:14:36 Julian pleaded guilty to the charges
00:14:38 and was sentenced to four years hard labor,
00:14:41 while Alexis was denied bail and remanded into custody.
00:14:45 Now, a male victim reported to police
00:14:47 that on July 12, he allegedly received calls
00:14:50 from a block number demanding that he
00:14:52 pay the sum of $30,000 by the next day,
00:14:55 or some harm will come to him or his family.
00:14:57 The following day, he allegedly received more calls
00:14:59 demanding that he pay the sum in five days time.
00:15:03 Now, the report of the matter was
00:15:06 made to the Arima Criminal Investigations Department
00:15:09 and a team spearheaded by ACP Subbero, Senior Superintendent
00:15:12 Francis, Superintendent--
00:15:15 Rafa Ellis.
00:15:15 --Rafa Ellis.
00:15:16 And ASP Pitt conducted extensive investigations,
00:15:20 which resulted in the apprehension of the three
00:15:23 suspects.
00:15:24 Who is the woman police that do the charging?
00:15:26 That's what I want to--
00:15:27 WPC Johnson.
00:15:28 WPC Johnson.
00:15:29 Arima CID.
00:15:30 Now, hear what I'm saying here.
00:15:33 When you went to the station, when you made your call,
00:15:35 nobody turned their way.
00:15:37 Nobody said that there was nothing they can do.
00:15:39 And this is what we need to stop doing.
00:15:41 If somebody here set the trend, and police officers,
00:15:46 if you're at a position where you're not sure as to what
00:15:50 approach you to take, take an example from your colleagues.
00:15:55 Call on them and ask them, say, what's
00:15:57 your-- are having a thing here?
00:15:58 And they will be able to guide you.
00:16:00 Yeah?
00:16:00 Well, I'm glad to see that this is being tackled
00:16:03 in such an immediate way.
00:16:05 Yeah.
00:16:05 Because if this spreads--
00:16:06 [INAUDIBLE]
00:16:07 If this spreads, dog eat we supper, you know?
00:16:10 Yeah.
00:16:10 Uh-huh.
00:16:11 Next time they call you for your only $40,
00:16:14 I just have to lend you every month.
00:16:16 You understand?
00:16:17 Well, when they call, I'll say, well, that Alexander money,
00:16:20 you know?
00:16:20 Yeah, come get it.
00:16:21 You could come get it.
00:16:22 Yeah, come get it.
00:16:23 Come and meet us.
00:16:24 Come and get it.
00:16:25 Come and meet us midnight.
00:16:26 Yeah.
00:16:28 Down this lonely road where it doesn't--
00:16:31 he doesn't wear-- what do you call it?
00:16:32 The cameras.
00:16:33 Nah.
00:16:34 Yeah.
00:16:34 Look for us by the galvanized--
00:16:36 Yeah.
00:16:37 Yeah.
00:16:38 Yeah.
00:16:39 And call--
00:16:39 Call her that.
00:16:40 And listen, we're walking it from a distance,
00:16:43 so come alone.
00:16:43 [LAUGHTER]
00:16:46 Walk with a--
00:16:46 What do you want?
00:16:50 Don't bother.
00:16:51 Don't bother to walk with it.
00:16:52 Don't walk with that thing.
00:16:53 Should we move on?
00:16:53 It wouldn't need anything.
00:16:54 We have some time, right?
00:16:56 So let's move on.
00:16:56 Let's move on.
00:16:57 All right, so we do have a video for you.
00:16:59 Persons who went to rubber bar last night--
00:17:02 Yeah.
00:17:02 --met men with licensed firearms.
00:17:06 Mm-hmm.
00:17:07 Mm.
00:17:09 Right.
00:17:10 Marlon Hopkinson, I wanted to take a look
00:17:12 at this whole situation here.
00:17:14 Now, this is in the W area.
00:17:18 This bar is up and running.
00:17:22 Two men.
00:17:23 Two men.
00:17:25 Two men.
00:17:25 Well, they are men now.
00:17:27 They're 18.
00:17:27 They could have vote.
00:17:28 Yeah, young, young children.
00:17:31 We understand that they are relatives.
00:17:34 OK, all right.
00:17:35 Along those lines.
00:17:37 So you and I home, Marlon Hopkinson, last night.
00:17:39 You and I home.
00:17:40 Remember that?
00:17:41 In Meli Mel.
00:17:42 Yeah.
00:17:43 Yeah.
00:17:43 I say, listen up.
00:17:46 It's a food, you know?
00:17:47 It's a food to eat on the road, you know?
00:17:49 Word, word, word, word.
00:17:50 Yeah, it's a food to eat on the road, so--
00:17:52 Word.
00:17:52 It's a food-- you hear your thing there?
00:17:53 You hear your thing there?
00:17:54 Yeah.
00:17:54 You hear your thing there?
00:17:55 You hear your thing right there?
00:17:55 Look at how I'm thinking, yeah?
00:17:56 Yeah.
00:17:57 All right, so we go.
00:17:57 Jackie and them there, and she coming with Candice.
00:18:00 Yeah, yeah.
00:18:01 All right, all right, all right.
00:18:02 So we say, hey.
00:18:02 So we're done.
00:18:03 They'll be walking and eat our food.
00:18:05 Watch me.
00:18:06 Candice greedy, you know?
00:18:07 I will handle it.
00:18:07 Yeah.
00:18:08 And she want to do she here.
00:18:09 So she calling on us to represent.
00:18:12 So I'm myself with my thing.
00:18:15 Marlon, look your thing there.
00:18:16 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:18:18 Marlon, I think.
00:18:19 And we're going in, right?
00:18:20 So we left home last night and decide, let's go and roll.
00:18:30 A few minutes later, one of us is dead
00:18:35 because we made a stupid choice.
00:18:38 And then the other one, bawling like a pig.
00:18:45 Oh, God.
00:18:46 Oh, God, help me.
00:18:47 Save me.
00:18:48 Save me.
00:18:52 You left home.
00:18:54 Where you could have stayed and eat some cookies.
00:18:58 Could have drink a little milk.
00:18:59 Make some porridge for your grandmother.
00:19:01 Yeah.
00:19:02 Blend up something in the blender.
00:19:04 What Jackie does make, the kind of green thing.
00:19:05 Them thing good for you.
00:19:06 Chia seed.
00:19:07 The kind of system that you just get from the Rastaman.
00:19:10 So what I say, if you leave all this,
00:19:14 you're going to read a book, Marlon.
00:19:17 And in my days, at that age, Marlon,
00:19:23 I engrossed in deep conversation with a lady of my liking.
00:19:30 Of your choice.
00:19:31 Of my choice.
00:19:32 And that has been honestly.
00:19:33 You see?
00:19:34 You at 18 and this--
00:19:36 Deep conversation?
00:19:37 Well, you had a phone, right?
00:19:38 Yeah.
00:19:39 Nothing.
00:19:39 I didn't say I had a phone.
00:19:42 I'm way by my house, though.
00:19:43 Yeah, a long time.
00:19:44 Is that the matchbox in the court?
00:19:46 Don't say.
00:19:47 I'd see I'm a court, you're a court.
00:19:48 I'd say, hello.
00:19:50 Can't hear nothing, but it's all right.
00:19:51 But if that time you on that kind of thing, Marlon,
00:19:55 of course, were you trying to understand yourself and develop
00:19:58 yourself and looking for different things, you know?
00:20:01 You ain't going to rob nobody.
00:20:05 You get up this morning, though, in your pain, the other one.
00:20:10 Ask for your colleague and friend.
00:20:14 He's in the ice.
00:20:17 He's chilling.
00:20:18 And a man had to defend himself by any lawful means necessary
00:20:27 because of your actions.
00:20:30 18 years.
00:20:31 You ain't live yet.
00:20:32 According to my grandmother, your mommy no start to froth.
00:20:36 And you're gone already because your behavior didn't permit
00:20:41 you to stay here very long.
00:20:43 Lessons.
00:20:47 But you know what?
00:20:48 We don't learn lessons in Trinidad and Tobago.
00:20:50 Tonight or this evening or tomorrow, some other youth
00:20:55 will ignore that action that took place
00:21:00 and the death of that other man and choose the same path.
00:21:05 Did it?
00:21:07 The priority, the priority is different now.
00:21:11 And I always say, we young people are growing up too quickly.
00:21:17 And parents are contributing to that too, to that sharp rise.
00:21:23 So very early, we are introducing young people
00:21:27 to very poor influences at a very young age.
00:21:33 So we introducing them to the weed.
00:21:36 We introducing them to the alcohol.
00:21:39 We introducing them to the lewd behavior.
00:21:42 We introducing them to all types of negative influences.
00:21:48 So when a young man reaches a certain age,
00:21:52 he wants to get a girlfriend.
00:21:54 All of a sudden, the girlfriend is pregnant.
00:21:57 All of a sudden, he has a child or children to mind.
00:22:01 He doesn't have the education.
00:22:04 It's too late now to go back to school
00:22:06 because he has to gain the knowledge now.
00:22:11 In some cases, he may be paid by the whoever ministry
00:22:15 or the government, $100 and something per day
00:22:18 to come to school.
00:22:20 But that can't mind a girlfriend who is not educated too.
00:22:27 So you have to mind that lady, that young lady, mind the child.
00:22:33 And you have to do everything for them, food, clothing,
00:22:36 and shelter.
00:22:37 So $500 a week may not provide what they like.
00:22:42 And they like nice things too.
00:22:44 So when they like the gold and they like the Louis Vuitton.
00:22:47 >> And the Brazilian.
00:22:49 >> And Chanel.
00:22:51 They want to smell like Chanel and so on.
00:22:53 >> Who?
00:22:54 >> They want to wear Chanel and the perfume.
00:22:56 >> Who?
00:22:57 >> Chanel, Chanel.
00:22:58 >> Who's that?
00:23:00 >> You never hear about Chanel number five?
00:23:01 Alexander.
00:23:02 >> Chanel?
00:23:04 >> All right.
00:23:05 >> That's a very big brand.
00:23:06 >> Oh, okay.
00:23:08 >> Let's remind persons of our numbers.
00:23:09 Six, two, three, 1711.
00:23:11 >> What I hear here, boy?
00:23:12 >> The extensions are 1992, 1993.
00:23:15 >> Chanel.
00:23:16 >> Chanel.
00:23:17 >> Don't go and ask for Chanel.
00:23:19 >> All right.
00:23:20 >> All right.
00:23:21 The extensions are 1992.
00:23:23 >> Chanel five.
00:23:24 >> In 1993, 1996, and 1997.
00:23:26 >> So when you buy that Chanel.
00:23:28 >> Chanel, yes.
00:23:30 >> When you put it on, will it last for the whole month?
00:23:33 >> Will it last for the whole day?
00:23:35 >> How much money for that?
00:23:36 >> That about five, six, $700.
00:23:38 >> Will that last for the whole month?
00:23:39 >> You feel this joke?
00:23:40 >> When you wash up.
00:23:42 >> You feel this damn oil?
00:23:44 We coming back.

00:25:48 I told you.
00:25:49 [LAUGH]
00:25:51 >> My God.
00:25:52 >> That's what a prop.
00:25:54 >> A man wants to do a demonstration.
00:25:56 >> We are two things.
00:25:57 >> Yeah, yeah.
00:25:58 >> We are two things.
00:25:58 >> Yeah.
00:25:59 >> From the good, the bad, and the ugly.
00:26:00 >> Yeah, we are two things.
00:26:02 >> Ooh.
00:26:02 >> But what are we doing?
00:26:04 I just see that's open, I see that's a bigger gun.
00:26:06 You take this one.
00:26:06 >> Hey.
00:26:07 >> Hey.
00:26:08 >> Yeah, right.
00:26:09 >> Nice. >> I feel better this way.
00:26:11 >> [LAUGH]
00:26:12 >> Where are we?
00:26:13 >> Brentwood, we're going to Brentwood.
00:26:15 >> Brentwood, Brentwood, we're going to Brentwood.
00:26:16 [LAUGH]
00:26:18 >> Right.
00:26:20 Here we are again, one more time.
00:26:22 Over and over and over, the same thing.
00:26:25 The behavior of our citizens.
00:26:27 Behavior like this that caused a man to die.
00:26:30 And right now he's lying down in the cold.
00:26:33 In a fridge somewhere, probably by forensic.
00:26:39 Because of his behavior.
00:26:43 Now, take a look at this.
00:26:45 This your place, boy?
00:26:46 You own this?
00:26:48 Mali, he own the place, huh?
00:26:51 Is this the owner, Miss Jackie?
00:26:54 >> I think he is.
00:26:56 >> He has to be the owner of the place.
00:26:57 >> Look at, the poor lady is traumatized, you know?
00:27:01 >> Yeah, she can't move.
00:27:02 >> Yeah.
00:27:03 And this one want to find out where's the price of oil and biscuit and-
00:27:07 >> Yeah, she come to-
00:27:08 >> What did you just get robbed?
00:27:09 >> I don't understand.
00:27:11 >> All the harrass.
00:27:12 >> Of our citizens.
00:27:13 Look at this, watch, watch.
00:27:14 >> Look at, poor lady.
00:27:17 >> Now- >> It's about to go down.
00:27:19 >> It's up against, you know?
00:27:20 You see, you're a show she, you show she the thing, you know?
00:27:25 You show she the thing, you see,
00:27:28 that's a method of intimidation, to show you the thing.
00:27:32 And then he comes and he robs you, listen.
00:27:36 Go back and, and, and, Miss Jackie, let me ask you this.
00:27:41 >> What do you want to know?
00:27:42 >> You see, this is, this is what I like to, this is what I like to demonstrate here.
00:27:45 So, this man is here.
00:27:47 So let's just say, the lady press the buzzer, boom.
00:27:50 And this is for men, you see?
00:27:52 She press the buzzer, brr, and.
00:27:54 >> I wonder what Menace has to say about this.
00:28:01 >> Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:28:02 >> Because he, he has no problem with this.
00:28:04 >> No, he has no problem at all.
00:28:05 He has no problem at all.
00:28:06 I wonder if the other guy, the guy who like to criticize everything.
00:28:10 Like he born in the 1954, and he doesn't understand new date, nothing.
00:28:15 I wonder if he's, if he's anyway, he doesn't understand nothing.
00:28:18 We, we now eat from a plate and drink from a cup.
00:28:22 We have moved away from that.
00:28:23 We eat from curry and drink from, from glass.
00:28:26 >> But you know 1954 is not very old.
00:28:28 Just to tell you.
00:28:30 Just to tell you.
00:28:31 >> Uh-huh.
00:28:32 >> [LAUGH]
00:28:33 >> I don't know.
00:28:34 >> Right, but, hear what I'm saying here?
00:28:36 Mr. Hopkinson.
00:28:38 So this man, this lady was given the opportunity, because they didn't listen
00:28:41 to what we say concerning the construction of the place and the business in a whole.
00:28:46 And she managed to press a buzzer.
00:28:49 And some security firm or police alerted.
00:28:53 Yeah?
00:28:56 And when this happens now, law enforcement approaches and coming through the door.
00:29:01 And the lady have already indicated in some way or
00:29:06 another that the man is armed with a firearm.
00:29:08 And we board him.
00:29:11 Put up your hand.
00:29:13 And he reached for the firearm.
00:29:14 He just reached.
00:29:14 I don't care if he reach for his pen, pencil, or ruler.
00:29:19 And he reaches in the area where the firearm is.
00:29:22 I might propose to wait until, come back to me Mr.
00:29:24 Jacky, I'm in it there.
00:29:25 So here it is there.
00:29:26 And he said, police, police, put up your hand.
00:29:30 And watch me.
00:29:31 I feel I can make good my escape.
00:29:34 I'm studying, hey, I wonder if I'll get bailed, boy.
00:29:37 And I feel, I feel something will happen.
00:29:39 And I say, well, if I bust a shot, I might be able to scare them police.
00:29:42 You know, panic the police.
00:29:44 >> The police will run.
00:29:45 >> Yeah, the police will run.
00:29:46 And I studied, I say, well, me and nothing, boy.
00:29:49 Me and nothing, boy.
00:29:51 And I go on here.
00:29:54 Is the police officer a reasonable man to wait until he pulls out his thing like
00:30:00 this and say, I will kill you and all of you, boy.
00:30:05 >> [LAUGH]
00:30:06 >> Boom.
00:30:08 >> That was in slow motion.
00:30:10 >> Yeah, I don't know, I'm just asking.
00:30:12 Are we to wait?
00:30:14 Menace?
00:30:14 >> Yeah.
00:30:15 >> At 1954, when 1954 say he was a police, so
00:30:18 he just come up with some kind of idea.
00:30:20 >> It would be absurd for the police to wait on that individual.
00:30:25 >> Well, we were here for the menace, I hope, today, all right?
00:30:28 Anybody's information concerning that situation we just showed you, you must.
00:30:32 >> Jackie, give Menace- >> All the calls he want today.
00:30:35 >> Preferential treatment today.
00:30:37 >> And you can give 1952 calls too.
00:30:40 >> [LAUGH] >> Or you don't see numbers?
00:30:42 >> At 1952- >> He will call, he will call.
00:30:44 >> Since 1952 calling on this program, and I know your name, you know?
00:30:48 1910, sorry, sorry, I get that.
00:30:51 Since 1910 calling on this program, not one day he made a valuable contribution.
00:30:56 I'm not talking about Menace, I'm talking about 1910.
00:30:59 Alexander, you're embarrassing the man, and the man's name is not Menace.
00:31:06 Chief, you see, any of them.
00:31:08 When he calls here, his name is Menace.
00:31:10 >> Yeah. >> He could call any place else.
00:31:12 >> Anywhere else, but here.
00:31:13 >> But when he's here, he's Menace to society.
00:31:16 >> To society.
00:31:17 >> We have a video for you.
00:31:19 Larceny at Uncle Bedou.
00:31:21 >> Larceny.
00:31:22 Now, remember that you probably take a look at this.
00:31:24 People willing to do anything for money.
00:31:28 Watch this dude.
00:31:29 Look at him.
00:31:30 >> Breaking into the car.
00:31:34 >> Yeah, that's all.
00:31:36 >> See that?
00:31:44 >> What really happened?
00:31:47 >> That's not his van, you know?
00:31:48 >> Okay.
00:31:49 >> That's not his van, you know?
00:31:50 He's going around.
00:31:51 Remember that he probably, look at him, you know?
00:31:54 He looks like a fellow with a little belly.
00:31:55 That's him there?
00:31:57 Look at him, look.
00:32:00 >> So these are different incidents?
00:32:03 >> No.
00:32:04 Same thing, the car was black and white.
00:32:06 >> Okay, okay, all right.
00:32:09 >> Look at this gentleman here.
00:32:13 You want to read Jersey?
00:32:15 >> Hey.
00:32:17 >> Hey.
00:32:17 >> He loves red.
00:32:21 >> Get out.
00:32:26 I wish I were you.
00:32:28 Come on to me, come on to me, come on to me.
00:32:30 >> If you're red, you're dead.
00:32:31 >> Come on to me.
00:32:33 >> What?
00:32:34 >> This man resembles somebody that we saw last night, you know?
00:32:39 I tell you now, you see him dress code, you know?
00:32:44 No, I ain't going to say nothing, Jackie,
00:32:46 but you see how some persons could take things
00:32:49 and run differently with it?
00:32:51 Yeah? Last night?
00:32:54 >> Man, ACV, I ain't going to say nothing to you, you know?
00:32:58 >> No, you see how persons could take things
00:33:00 and run differently with it?
00:33:01 Bring him back for me, Jackie.
00:33:03 >> I'm going to identify the brother, so we'll be sure.
00:33:06 Anybody with information about this gentleman here,
00:33:10 he's a pilferer, aka thief.
00:33:13 He went, he checked about three vehicles around the place
00:33:20 and then went into one and removed some money.
00:33:24 Is he dishonest?
00:33:31 Some persons will say no.
00:33:33 Is he a criminal?
00:33:34 Some persons will say no.
00:33:36 What is he?
00:33:42 Hmm. Or who is he?
00:33:46 Jackie, is that K40 out there?
00:33:51 A capital K?
00:33:54 All right.
00:33:55 This gentleman at this time, anybody with information,
00:33:58 you can call the Nevis Police Station, 555.
00:34:00 Somebody must know this man.
00:34:02 People don't really stray around the place like that, you know?
00:34:04 Somebody would know this man.
00:34:06 If you know this man, the police officers are asking
00:34:08 for your assistance to tell us who is this man.
00:34:10 The San Juan Police, the Santa Cruz Police,
00:34:12 the Barataria Police, anybody who you can contact
00:34:16 and who is willing to respond.

00:36:09 >> Hey, man, so we get it.
00:36:12 Hey, Mr. C. Barrow, good evening, sir.
00:36:17 ACP C. Barrow, good evening.
00:36:18 I think you're right.
00:36:20 But we'll see how it unfolds.
00:36:22 Where are you, Miss Jackie?
00:36:23 Miss Jackie, we'll see how Mr. C. Barrow put you.
00:36:26 The same thing you're thinking about, you know?
00:36:32 All right.
00:36:33 A gentleman went -- yeah, it's -- this video is circulating on social media.
00:36:40 And it's one of the situations that exists now more than ever.
00:36:43 And it is proving to me, and I know a lot of law enforcement officers and members
00:36:49 of the public, that something is going on still at the banks.
00:36:55 I know there was a major breakthrough in the eastern area of Trinidad,
00:37:01 which is the northern division, with respect to the arrest of persons and all of that.
00:37:07 But it seems to continue.
00:37:08 Take a look at this and listen to the gentleman's story.
00:37:13 >> We talk to people, we encourage people, we keep things safe.
00:37:20 I didn't leave anything in the car suspicious looking,
00:37:23 that when you look in the car glasses, when you take the tint,
00:37:28 because I'm not going to tell, right?
00:37:30 So you actually come up in the car to see what's there.
00:37:33 I didn't tell anybody my business for the morning.
00:37:37 I went by a certain bank, make a transaction.
00:37:41 But thank God I didn't withdraw anything, I deposit.
00:37:43 And the time I touched down in a car park,
00:37:47 a small car park in about 40 minutes, I went upstairs to get something.
00:37:52 I got a call and I turned to my vehicle.
00:37:56 When I came back, this is what I saw.
00:37:58 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:38:02 Yeah, now I don't like the cars, I don't like the thing,
00:38:07 but this had to be an insight something.
00:38:10 Somebody must tell yourself, it was the arm in the car, yeah?
00:38:16 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:38:20 >> Now, now, Toronto Bego, if you understand the whole dynamic behind this,
00:38:25 somebody is marking somebody.
00:38:27 Now, whether it be from the inside of the bank, where persons were standing and
00:38:33 making observations of what was taking place, or persons behind the counter.
00:38:39 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:38:42 What is similar in all the situation that as soon as that person drives away and
00:38:47 parks at any location that person will follow.
00:38:50 And park at any location, so
00:38:53 they're hoping that you come to the bank and you have other business to conduct.
00:38:57 If you go straight home, they're trying to follow you home to take you and
00:39:02 take the money away.
00:39:03 If you park up in some place to go and do other type of business,
00:39:06 they break in your car to see if you would have left that money there.
00:39:09 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:39:12 Remember that the public, you have to be observant at all times.
00:39:16 Watch any persons, and I like the policies that the bank have now, and
00:39:21 many of these other institutions.
00:39:24 I went to an institution the other day, madam, where you cannot have on a hat.
00:39:27 And if the hat is on, it had to be turned back to front,
00:39:30 because we want to see your face.
00:39:32 And all of this is so, so important now more than ever.
00:39:35 But we need to look at ourselves and take on,
00:39:41 look at when we conduct in business, where, when, where you're going after.
00:39:47 And all of that, look at, pay attention to your surroundings,
00:39:49 see who's following you if you are being followed.
00:39:52 Make some giddy drives if you realize that no dead end streets.
00:39:55 Park up in areas, listen, park up in areas.
00:40:00 And as you park up, I walk in the malls like what I normally do, and
00:40:05 then I walk back also, and I stand up and check my car also.
00:40:08 Only got nothing in it, eh?
00:40:09 What if a man decide to go?
00:40:11 I want to ask him, why?
00:40:13 Right, marketplace again, Mr. Hopkinson.
00:40:23 >> Social media marketplace.
00:40:23 >> Marketplace again.
00:40:25 When will it end, when will it end, when will it end?
00:40:29 >> Is it that the bargains are so great, you can't resist?
00:40:33 >> No, I'm starting to think that the people's thoughts are not so great.
00:40:36 And the people who's getting involved in this is not so great.
00:40:40 And they are fooling persons, and they are not so great.
00:40:45 So it's like, I wonder if you see this.
00:40:50 Man, I'm between a horse and a donkey.
00:40:53 Who can fool who?
00:40:56 The horse could fool the donkey believing that he'll win the race.
00:41:01 And then the donkey could fool the horse as to how much load he could tote.
00:41:04 You think?
00:41:06 But let me just say this.
00:41:08 Persons are going up on marketplace again.
00:41:09 And getting some offers they can't refuse.
00:41:16 Two persons, a man and a woman, saw persons advertising a black
00:41:21 Almera on marketplace, a black Almera on marketplace.
00:41:28 They journeyed into Port of Spain, big city of dreams.
00:41:31 Waving at the people, people waving back at you.
00:41:33 Statues that don't look like nobody.
00:41:35 So they came into Port of Spain.
00:41:39 And they are asked to come to a particular location.
00:41:44 >> Oh gosh.
00:41:44 >> On arrival at the location, men out.
00:41:50 Hey, pass it, pass it, pass everything on there.
00:41:55 We have been talking about that here so often that I'm starting to write a book
00:41:59 about it, I'm on the 97,000th page.
00:42:02 >> [LAUGH]
00:42:04 >> Because we're writing the book about
00:42:05 the same thing we tell you every single day.
00:42:08 >> We're just printing over the page.
00:42:09 >> Yeah, printing over the book, yeah, print, print, print, print.
00:42:11 You might see your name on it, a couple of you are, because you all are continuously
00:42:15 being fooled by those persons on marketplace.
00:42:18 I'll kill you dead, you're the smartest person among the people.
00:42:22 >> But let me tell you something.
00:42:24 If I'm coming down to town to buy this black Almera.
00:42:30 >> Yeah, you know why though?
00:42:31 >> Cuz I want a black Almera, boy.
00:42:35 >> Tell me why though?
00:42:35 >> In this time, a black Almera.
00:42:37 Anyway, but there are so many police stations in Port of Spain.
00:42:43 You have Beso Street, you have the CID.
00:42:45 >> Yeah.
00:42:46 >> If that is not enough for you, we could go Belmont, we could go Woodbrook,
00:42:52 we could go St. James.
00:42:54 >> There are a number of police stations.
00:42:55 >> Or you have to tussle with me, or licensing officer, come pong, you know?
00:42:58 >> Something.
00:43:00 >> Because I am not coming in the back, but, listen, the basketball court,
00:43:06 I don't know, basketball court and robbery seems to be friendly.
00:43:10 It's a friendly environment.
00:43:11 >> We do the transaction on the road outside the police station.
00:43:15 >> Right here, right here, right here.
00:43:16 Just remember where they pick up we buy it there?
00:43:18 Right there, outside in front.
00:43:20 So, that's what I'm saying, if you are purchasing something,
00:43:24 think about it, think about it.
00:43:26 Why is it that you have persons who have no skills at all?
00:43:32 >> First red flag, black Almera for sale.
00:43:36 >> No skills here fooling you, it's amazing though.
00:43:39 >> And black Almera.
00:43:39 >> We need to stop that behavior.
00:43:41 >> That was not red flag.
00:43:42 >> You're putting yourselves in harm's way.
00:43:44 >> That's the biggest flag I ever see.
00:43:46 >> Yeah. >> The biggest red flag.
00:43:47 >> And the police officers are telling them constantly, stop it, stop it.
00:43:54 I don't know if Marlon would say the other thing or
00:43:55 they would have said, well, that's not what he's supposed to say that.
00:43:58 But Marlon, you gotta find a way to tell them stop it.
00:44:00 >> No, but we can't tell them shut up in this.
00:44:03 >> No, no, no, but you gotta tell them stop it.
00:44:04 How you gonna tell them stop it?
00:44:06 How you say it? >> Stop it, stop it, stop it, stop it.
00:44:08 Stop it, stop it.
00:44:11 Watch your finger, stop it.
00:44:12 >> Yeah, show them your finger.
00:44:14 Careful.
00:44:15 >> This is a very important finger for the next few days.
00:44:18 Stop it.
00:44:19 >> You went in early?
00:44:21 >> Went in early.
00:44:22 Who could get me out there, boy?
00:44:24 Who could get me out there?
00:44:26 Eh?
00:44:26 Who could get me out there?
00:44:28 >> So let me ask you something.
00:44:29 Since we're on this, you have a couple minutes, right?
00:44:33 Marlon, in 2025, there's only one finger to give, and that is this finger.
00:44:38 >> [LAUGH] >> In 2025,
00:44:43 when you come to me and I come to you.
00:44:45 >> Gentlemen, gentlemen.
00:44:46 >> Let me finish my story.
00:44:47 >> Gentlemen, gentlemen.
00:44:48 >> Let me finish my story.
00:44:48 >> Gentlemen.
00:44:49 >> Let me finish my story.
00:44:50 >> We'll write that in the book.
00:44:51 >> Mr. Hopkinson.
00:44:52 >> Hello, hello, hello.
00:44:53 >> In 2025, when you come to me and I come to you, and I say, listen.
00:44:57 >> [APPLAUSE]
00:44:59 >> Let's do it for the people.
00:45:01 >> Well, let me behave like them.
00:45:04 I don't know what the future holds, sir.
00:45:06 But if the people want me to serve them.
00:45:10 >> Yeah, I will serve.
00:45:11 >> I will just have to.
00:45:13 >> You have no choice.
00:45:14 >> Of course I have no choice.
00:45:15 >> But I do, listen, I hear what I'm saying.
00:45:18 If the people want me to serve them eventually.
00:45:21 >> [LAUGH] >> I have a call, and listen,
00:45:23 it will be service after service after service,
00:45:27 because that's all I've been doing all my life, serving people.

00:47:46 Is the table on?
00:47:46 Or not table on?
00:47:47 >> Is that thing she eating or no?
00:47:48 >> Yeah, that thing she eating.
00:47:50 That thing she eating and corrupting Jackie Green.
00:47:52 >> He passed, I agree with you.
00:47:55 Yes, so the 623 number, that is not working today, all right?
00:48:01 So if you desire to speak with us this afternoon,
00:48:07 you have to call us on 299-0047, and the extension is 1995.
00:48:16 So again, the new numbers for this evening alone.

00:48:23 >> Are 299-0047, and the extension is 1995.
00:48:31 >> Look, a lady said she just buy Chanel.
00:48:34 >> But the lady knows, the lady knows, the lady knows.
00:48:36 >> She says she'll buy Chanel.
00:48:37 >> Coco Chanel.
00:48:39 >> Yeah? >> Yeah, Coco Chanel.
00:48:40 >> Mm.
00:48:41 >> It's a serious thing.
00:48:43 >> That's like feelings.
00:48:44 >> I haven't heard of feelings.
00:48:47 >> [LAUGH] Jackie don't want feelings?
00:48:49 >> If you don't buy Coco Chanel, you will experience some feelings, bad feelings.
00:48:53 >> [COUGH]
00:48:56 >> You know what, Jackie don't pay any of that.
00:48:58 >> [INAUDIBLE]
00:49:02 >> Feelings?
00:49:03 >> Yeah.
00:49:04 >> Feelings.
00:49:05 >> What we have next.
00:49:06 >> And white satin.
00:49:07 >> Yeah, boy, you remember that?
00:49:09 Nice, white satin.
00:49:10 >> It's the smell like alcohol with a little bit of some kind of,
00:49:14 what's called this thing with the penguin, the green thing?
00:49:18 What would put the rub back and chest with this?
00:49:20 >> No, no, no, we are doing.
00:49:21 >> Alcalado glass, y'all.
00:49:22 >> You see, you see, the same thing I didn't want him to do.
00:49:25 This man, come to he, boy.
00:49:27 All right, what we have?
00:49:30 Hope you're looking at, I'm not going to say it how Jackie said it.
00:49:36 >> What did Jackie say, they're fighting?
00:49:38 >> Children fighting again?
00:49:40 >> Well, it seems to be some ladies that can't seem to get their act together.
00:49:46 And the funny thing is,
00:49:46 they know there was some men about the place they're trying to reason.
00:49:50 >> Reason what?
00:49:51 >> Yeah, and pull them apart, but it seems like they were bent on fighting.
00:49:57 And then the one took possession of a knife and came down the middle.
00:50:01 >> Yeah, but let me look in your.
00:50:02 >> Now, you know, it is, Marlon, it's difficult these days.
00:50:05 If you know how it is, no more than ever for, is it?
00:50:10 Is it?
00:50:11 Is it?
00:50:14 >> Let me tell you something.
00:50:15 >> And as I weave out, everybody pulling here and.
00:50:18 >> Let me tell you something.
00:50:19 Ladies who are getting on in this way.
00:50:22 >> Yeah.
00:50:23 >> I mean, with the greatest of respect,
00:50:25 this sort of behavior is telling us who you are.
00:50:31 >> Yeah.
00:50:32 >> It is telling us and it is also telling us where you are going.
00:50:35 And I don't know that where you are going, it is the right place.
00:50:39 But you all are young and you still have an opportunity to turn around.
00:50:46 And I hope that instead of members of the community applauding you all for
00:50:53 this behavior, that you really sit down and reflect on your behavior and
00:50:59 turn around, because this is the path that you are taking.
00:51:03 It is not the correct one.
00:51:05 And if nobody is telling you, I am telling you, it is not the correct path.
00:51:09 What we have next?
00:51:12 >> Lordy, sometimes it's so embarrassing.
00:51:14 >> You have a call?
00:51:15 >> I thought after Independence Day, I thought we would have seen a change in
00:51:19 our behavior.
00:51:20 >> Well, independence.
00:51:21 >> I'm not, sorry, sorry, emancipation.
00:51:24 >> Okay, all right.
00:51:25 >> I thought we would have emancipated ourselves from that situation, but
00:51:27 apparently it's still there.
00:51:28 >> Caller, are you there?
00:51:30 >> Good evening, caller.
00:51:30 >> Caller? >> Good afternoon.
00:51:33 >> Yes, good evening, sir.
00:51:35 >> Yes, Mr. Marlon Man, all the file up on the show night.
00:51:39 But I've taken, super now, I've taken a dose of this thing.
00:51:43 The way all these men are approaching these daylights were brilliant.
00:51:49 Like we have to have some kind of robot now in the store that they will be in.
00:51:54 Because when I was two, many times you spoke about that.
00:52:00 Some of these sellers and them there, or what do you call it?
00:52:04 They're too much in the open.
00:52:05 >> I say it all the time.
00:52:07 >> Yes, they're too much in the open, Superintendent.
00:52:09 That man, look, that woman freeze there, look.
00:52:12 And like these sellers ain't care nothing because all they could see is money.
00:52:18 They ain't feel they like it or not.
00:52:20 >> Yeah, and let me share something with you.
00:52:25 >> Yeah. >> Just as sometimes you attempt to make
00:52:27 money and you might be doing well.
00:52:30 You have to take into consideration the workers that you have,
00:52:35 who also might be members of your family.
00:52:38 It's not like it might be strangers and
00:52:41 you have a do care attitude towards one another.
00:52:45 Might be members of your family.
00:52:46 So what we are asking for is that, think about it,
00:52:49 that show that you take care, have to protect them.
00:52:51 Because they are the ones who fronting at your business place, you see?
00:52:56 >> Yes, but Superintendent, they have something that, like the banks have it.
00:53:01 So they could press a button and the nearest police station, they will alarm them.
00:53:05 And they could rush to the scene because they will know the beats from what
00:53:09 location or what they're looking for.
00:53:11 >> [LAUGH] >> Are you all right?
00:53:16 >> Yeah.
00:53:17 >> You're okay?
00:53:18 >> Yes, I'm good.
00:53:19 >> All right, okay.
00:53:20 I just wanna make sure you're all right.
00:53:22 Don't say nothing.
00:53:23 [LAUGH] >> [LAUGH]
00:53:26 >> I mean to say,
00:53:27 it's really overdoing it.
00:53:29 >> I know, man.
00:53:30 It's already overdoing it.
00:53:31 >> And I believe that the more they climb up and
00:53:34 use more strategy like themselves.
00:53:36 Because I spoke to some people in St.
00:53:39 Barbara and they were like 20 years, they said they don't only confronting at you.
00:53:44 So can I speak for them and they cannot know that?
00:53:47 >> Yeah.
00:53:48 >> All right, thank you very much, sir.
00:53:50 >> But you see, we as business persons, you want to make money, yes.
00:53:57 But you have to put in that mix, in that pot, security for
00:54:02 yourself, your property, and your workers.
00:54:08 Think about it, put it in the pot.
00:54:10 Just like every $100 that you make, you could dissect your 100.
00:54:15 Put aside something for your security, yeah?
00:54:18 >> Yeah.
00:54:19 >> Your structure of your place, take for instance,
00:54:22 look what we have done since COVID, I put something here.
00:54:25 Not just because of the COVID, to protect this fella for me.
00:54:29 >> You hear what he said?
00:54:30 >> Because- >> He say he put this here.
00:54:33 All your good wee boy Alexander.
00:54:34 >> Because, caller, on many occasions, when he would have lost himself,
00:54:38 I would have reached out and brought him back, because that's the kind of person I am.
00:54:43 >> I think it's the other way around.
00:54:45 >> [LAUGH] >> Caller, good evening.
00:54:48 >> But if you put in things around, I'm the cashier, I'm the cashier.
00:54:52 And there are some places that you go, and you barely see the cashier.
00:54:56 >> I hear you.
00:54:57 We have the call, right?
00:54:58 No?
00:54:59 >> Yeah. >> But I see you on the phone.
00:55:00 >> You barely see the cashier.
00:55:01 So it's on the business owner,
00:55:05 the business community to reach out.
00:55:09 You could do it holistically.
00:55:11 If you want two or three persons on the streets, you only have the business and
00:55:15 thing, get together and get some security, pay a cost as a case.
00:55:20 Don't put yourself in harm's way or your customers.
00:55:23 >> I hear you.
00:55:24 >> I prefer, just like last night, to come and
00:55:27 see a man lying on the ground because of his behavior.
00:55:34 That person tried to break the law.
00:55:39 That person came with intention to hurt and harm persons and even kill persons.
00:55:44 And I prefer to see him lying there,
00:55:45 breathless, than for an innocent person to suffer the same fate.
00:55:53 >> We are going to have a short break.
00:55:54 We're coming back.
00:55:55 [MUSIC]

00:56:53 >> This is Mary.
00:56:55 Mary has bills to pay and
00:56:57 takes a chance parking in front of the building at the no parking sign.
00:57:02 Mary returns to her car and this is what happens.
00:57:06 [MUSIC]
00:57:13 Mary decides to call when she's five minutes away to let her daughter know
00:57:17 that she is close by, but Mary forgot one thing.
00:57:21 [MUSIC]
00:57:27 After two tickets, Mary just isn't paying attention to her speed.
00:57:32 [MUSIC]
00:57:42 Don't be like Mary.

00:58:04 >> We just got a call here from someone named Henry Lucas.
00:58:10 >> Yeah, go call him.
00:58:11 >> Give us the number, Jackie.
00:58:15 >> 234-706-199-4287.
00:58:24 And when we investigated, 234 is the code for Nigeria.
00:58:31 >> Yeah.
00:58:31 >> All right? >> He want to talk to us.
00:58:33 >> Yeah, because- >> He want to tell us we want money.
00:58:37 >> [LAUGH] >> He want to tell us that we can come for
00:58:40 the money as soon as possible.
00:58:42 >> So he said to you, hello?
00:58:46 >> Yeah.
00:58:46 >> He said, hello, how are you doing today?
00:58:48 >> How are you doing?
00:58:49 >> And in true form, here's what Jackie said.
00:58:53 Do not hello me, sir.
00:58:54 >> Don't hello me.
00:58:55 >> [LAUGH] >> All right, so again,
00:58:58 we have to be careful, right?
00:58:59 I hope we don't still have- >> But I love you.
00:59:02 >> Yeah, I hope we have come to an end where the elderly
00:59:08 seems to be falling in love social media wise.
00:59:11 >> [LAUGH] >> Yeah, I am hoping that that comes to
00:59:14 an end and our grandmothers and great grandmothers are now saying their prayer and
00:59:20 not studying the guy who's shopping somewhere else for them.
00:59:25 >> You know I was criticized for that, right?
00:59:27 By telling the elderly women- >> Yeah, that they can't find love?
00:59:31 >> That they should not be looking for love in all of these places.
00:59:35 Yes, your husband may not be around again, but
00:59:37 your work now is to take care of the grandchildren.
00:59:40 >> Yeah, and the plants.
00:59:41 >> And bring them up in the right way.
00:59:43 >> Yeah, and when you see children on the roadway, talk to them and
00:59:46 mold them into good people.
00:59:47 >> Not to be talking to Mr. Lucas, who is calling you.
00:59:51 >> You look so nice.
00:59:52 >> Yeah, you look so nice.
00:59:53 >> Yeah, you look like a pie.
00:59:55 >> I saw you dressed and was at the Savannah.
00:59:58 >> Yeah, never went to the Savannah in your life.
01:00:01 >> You look- >> Thank you, thank you.
01:00:03 >> You look like a nice otter, Kalalu, how do you say?
01:00:06 >> Yeah, and then he said, I shop for you.
01:00:11 >> [LAUGH] Chanel, you like Chanel?
01:00:14 >> I buy Chanel, I give you all of this, you know what?
01:00:17 And he send a picture for you.
01:00:19 And your great-grandmother, now she get glad, she didn't know what it is.
01:00:21 >> Yeah.
01:00:22 >> Yeah, and then he tell, she say, you have to send about a 300,
01:00:26 just for me to clear the little bit that I couldn't make up.
01:00:29 >> Yeah. >> Because I overshop for you.
01:00:31 >> I overshop?
01:00:32 >> Yeah.
01:00:32 >> [LAUGH] >> Wowee, this Jackie.
01:00:34 >> [LAUGH] >> All right, this guy here,
01:00:40 who's stealing cars, red car stealing cars.
01:00:45 >> Is it that the red car was left?
01:00:48 >> No, there are other persons in the car, Mr.
01:00:51 Afkenson.
01:00:53 When they doing thing now is Batman and Robin.
01:00:54 >> The whole squad.
01:00:57 >> Yeah, the whole squad.
01:00:57 >> The whole suicide squad.
01:00:59 >> [LAUGH]
01:01:00 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:01:03 You know, and you know, Nigeria wouldn't call them.
01:01:06 >> I wish he would.
01:01:08 >> Yeah, but again, this is what took place at this location.
01:01:12 Your property is the target of persons.
01:01:18 Everybody wants your property now more than ever.
01:01:23 Nobody wants to pay for anything.
01:01:25 If I could get a car in this way, and I could get it sell tonight.
01:01:30 Let me say the man tell me if I bring the keys,
01:01:33 I call him tell him what kind of vehicle it is, I'll get 10,000.
01:01:38 So I got a premium boy of five.
01:01:39 And I'll get five, or as I see it, he's just the escort vehicle driver.
01:01:48 He might get three and I will get eight.
01:01:50 What do you think?
01:01:50 All right.
01:01:55 You didn't remember me checking there.
01:01:56 >> So this vehicle cannot be sold in this way.
01:02:00 It has to be scrapped out.
01:02:01 >> No, no, no, no, no, no.
01:02:04 There are some persons in Toronto, and that is why when I heard that
01:02:09 the license authority's been criticized for going to Beagle, I knew from the offset
01:02:15 that the persons who make in those claims against the prison officers, they make me wonder.
01:02:23 >> Prison officers?
01:02:24 >> Licensing officers, sorry.
01:02:26 They make me wonder.
01:02:26 >> I wondered about your statement.
01:02:29 >> Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:02:29 >> Say it over, say it over.
01:02:31 >> When I heard the statement made about the transport commissioner and his team.
01:02:39 >> Yes.
01:02:40 >> Going to the Beagle and persons having so much issues, I said to myself,
01:02:44 self, what level of sorcery is this?
01:02:48 I thought you're supposed to be glad to see officers from a law enforcement aspect
01:02:55 coming to your land and looking to see who would have done crazy things.
01:03:00 Men stamping over vehicles, men changing this and changing that and changing this and
01:03:04 changing that.
01:03:05 Instead of that, you're complaining about the arrival of these men.
01:03:11 >> And they should be duly warned when licensing officers are coming.
01:03:12 >> And are you supposed to tell them that they're coming to the Beagle?
01:03:16 >> No. >> So the place is no longer Trinidad and
01:03:18 Tobago then.
01:03:19 It's Trinidad or Tobago?
01:03:23 >> That is not the case.
01:03:27 And this is Jordan, not Michael at all.
01:03:32 Nothing to do with Michael.
01:03:34 Jordan, I suggest, you see the chairs that they brought.
01:03:38 I hear you left the chairs and you're going up in Bagatelle hiding about the place.
01:03:41 The chairs that they brought in the place.
01:03:44 You can't even sleep on the chairs because you don't know when the police will come and
01:03:48 knock on your door.
01:03:49 Right now the chairs and them resting comfortably.
01:03:54 Nobody's sitting on the chair because you are hiding, Jordan,
01:03:58 because you are interfering in person's things and
01:04:00 believe you can walk about this country freely.
01:04:01 And this is the who, be careful now.
01:04:05 And Jordan, he shopped, Mr. Hopkinson.
01:04:11 And men have a tendency, when they go to shop, to see the get through,
01:04:18 they're frightened and buy the wrong thing.
01:04:21 I can't even tell you what he bought.
01:04:24 Again, there was something in a box that he bought, Mr. Hopkinson.
01:04:32 I tell you, what I can say is this.
01:04:37 You could use it to extract milk.
01:04:43 >> We need to stop there.
01:04:50 >> We're going to stop right now.
01:04:50 >> What we have?
01:04:52 >> And it is consistent with something that we have home that has caused water to
01:04:55 come in the house.
01:04:56 Eddie, he bought that.
01:05:02 Just imagine that.
01:05:03 I don't understand why.
01:05:05 I don't understand how up to now.
01:05:06 But you know sometimes you steal something or you gain possession of something and
01:05:10 you want to see if it is legit.
01:05:12 So you grab anything in the store.
01:05:13 I want this.
01:05:14 And when you realize it worked the first time, you walk outside and
01:05:17 then you come back in.
01:05:18 So that BP.
01:05:23 [LAUGH]
01:05:28 That BP, the BP he took.
01:05:32 The BP that he bought.
01:05:35 I don't know what he did with it.
01:05:37 Anyhow.
01:05:39 >> Jackie, you find that funny?
01:05:40 >> Yeah, she laughing.
01:05:41 I don't know why she laughing at.
01:05:42 >> It was the first time I've ever heard such laughter.
01:05:44 [LAUGH]
01:05:49 All right, what we have next?
01:05:50 Put them up.
01:05:52 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:05:57 >> Right.
01:05:59 Another day.
01:06:00 [COUGH]
01:06:02 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:06:12 [COUGH]
01:06:22 >> Now, you see, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:06:27 Mr. Atkinson, police officers, I understand.
01:06:30 >> No, everybody, no.
01:06:32 >> Police officers confronted an individual who went information that he snatched
01:06:38 something.
01:06:40 The officers are moving to a location to perform a search on him.
01:06:45 And you all came, the civilian, you came there, you know, and
01:06:49 talking about in front of the public and all that thing.
01:06:52 So tell me.
01:06:52 What do you say?
01:06:55 Yeah, they say he stripped him.
01:07:02 So we were, they were checking to see if the gold chain,
01:07:05 he had lodged the gold chain in some part of his body.
01:07:09 >> Okay, all right.
01:07:12 Where's this happening?
01:07:12 >> Arima. >> Arima?
01:07:14 >> So if he lodged the gold chain in parts of his body, and we didn't check it at
01:07:21 the time and next thing you know, the gold chain could have been consumed.
01:07:24 And we would have seen it sometime later.
01:07:27 >> Okay, all right.
01:07:28 >> In a dirty way.
01:07:31 >> What did that happen?
01:07:33 >> So we don't know.
01:07:34 So having said that, you know,
01:07:36 the police officers did what they had to do at the time in the corner.
01:07:40 They went in a little space, they block it, persons backwards turn, and so
01:07:46 on, they cover the area, but it's the civilian that came.
01:07:48 The civilians are not followed because they're fast.
01:07:50 They want to know what is happening in terms of the police and
01:07:54 always want to get involved.
01:07:55 And don't want to mind their business.
01:07:59 They always know the rights, and the rights, and the rights.
01:08:04 But yet they're doing the wrong thing.
01:08:05 >> Amazing, eh?
01:08:08 Amazing.
01:08:09 All right, we're coming back.
01:08:10 [MUSIC]

01:08:51 >> Since 1964, dance has been a major part of the best village experience,
01:08:56 with raw talent trained in community drum yards,
01:08:59 taking the stage to perform the limbo, shango, and ballet.
01:09:03 As the event grew into what became known as the folk concert,
01:09:06 East Indian traditional dances like the dandiya and
01:09:09 khatak, as well as musical and dramatic segments took on important roles.
01:09:14 By 1989, a major shift happened with the program, as the separate music, dance,
01:09:19 and drama sections were merged in favor of having full productions,
01:09:24 incorporating all three folk elements.
01:09:26 Performers had now entered the realm of musical play, and
01:09:30 the folk theater competition was born.
01:09:32 As this highly anticipated and supported aspect of the Prime Minister's Best
01:09:36 Village Trophy competition continues in the 60th year, we look forward to even
01:09:40 more innovation and creativity from community performers, and
01:09:44 a further evolution of the competition.
