Anthropic renamed its top Claude plans, and one of them lost a big limit. ⚡
On October 30, 2026, Anthropic renamed its two top consumer Claude plans. According to Anthropic's Claude Help Center and pricing page:
• Max 5x is now called Max ($100 per month) and Max 20x is now called Ultra ($200 per month). Prices stay the same and existing subscribers move over automatically.
• Ultra has no five-hour usage limit for verified accounts. Anthropic says it verifies Ultra accounts automatically (The New Stack reports this is based on account and payment history) to help prevent fraud and abuse; until then a temporary limit applies.
• The weekly limit stays: Ultra includes 10x the Pro plan's usage every week, Max includes 5x Pro.
• Both plans now include monthly Claude Platform API credits: $100 on Max, $200 on Ultra.
