Why would a GPU maker back software that can save GPUs? 🤔
On October 27, 2026, Bengaluru-based AI infrastructure startup Simplismart announced a $14 million Series B round led by Dallas Venture Capital, with participation from Nvidia, Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax, as reported by TechCrunch, The Times of India and The Economic Times.
What Simplismart does:
• It works on inference, the step where a trained AI model actually responds to a request.
• Its software sits between AI models and the GPUs they run on, tuning speed, cost and how much computing power each workload uses. TechCrunch says this can help companies run some workloads with fewer GPUs.
• The company says it helped InVideo cut GPU serving costs by 56% (TechCrunch), and that it cut Exotel's response time from 1.1 seconds to under 300 milliseconds (The Times of India). These are the company's own figures.
• Simplismart says its annualised revenue run rate grew 14-fold over six months; it did not disclose the revenue figure.
• CEO Amritanshu Jain told TechCrunch that making inference more efficient could ultimately make Nvidia's hardware more attractive to customers.
• Simplismart was founded by Amritanshu Jain (ex-Oracle) and Devansh Ghatak (ex-Google). The money will go into US expansion, its team and its inference software, according to the reports.
