00:00The face of women's bodybuilding continues to change. At the Raw Classic Fitness Competition, new faces continued to emerge.
00:08Cornel Joseph McLean, who trains with Dexter Simon, repeated as the bikini class champion for a third time.
00:15She deserves a story on her own and leads the way in a time where looking good is in style
00:22for women desiring fitness.
00:23So, bodybuilding with women now is not associated to the big oomfy look and the man look, no.
00:30It's a lot of femininity because they move with grace, they move with authority on the stage,
00:36they present their body well with a level of aura, an aura of confidence, you understand, that keeps them and
00:43raises them above the rest.
00:46The other face to remember is Zafia Baines. She dropped from 244 pounds to 117 pounds in nearly two and
00:56a half years.
00:57From 244 pounds, she was on stage two years and about four months after at 117 pounds.
01:18Simon, who was also a judge at the competition, says the stigma behind bodybuilding is going away.
01:24Long ago, we had the negatives associated with bodybuilding, especially for women, that women will turn into men and their
01:33voice will change.
01:35And they realize now, especially in the bikini class, that it's about almost like a more toned beauty pageant.
01:44Zafia and Connell were not the only two to compete. Some of the other winners include
01:50Mikel Williams in the Men's Physique Division, Barbara Quesada in the Wellness Category,
01:56Stefan Maxwell in the Classic Physique Division, and Stefan Maxwell in the Classic Physique Division.
02:02More on that in a subsequent podcast. Sergio Dufour, TV6 Sport.
