00:00Powergen have retained the Trinidad and Tobago Women's Cricket Association
00:04Premiership 50-over title. This follows their eight-wicket win in the final
00:08round against Hibiscus Ladies on Sunday. Hibiscus made 54 all-out from 20 overs
00:13with Leandra Ramdeen taking six wickets for just seven runs. In reply, the
00:18Southerners got to 55-for-2 in 14.1 overs with Samantha Bissoon
00:23scoring an unbeaten 28. Manager Chanel Lord is an elated woman following the
00:28win. I would definitely say our key to success this season would be our
00:33experience. Nothing beats experience and we have a bunch of girls who are
00:40knowledgeable of the game. You know we have Brittany Cooper, we have Anissa
00:44Mohammed, we have Kenisha Isaac. We also have a number of players who have played
00:47at under-19 and at the national level and we are a team that together we enjoy
00:54each other's company on and off the field so that also helps you know with
01:00with the game and playing together. According to Lord, the ladies from
01:04Signed Village in Pinal were made to work harder this year in clinching the
01:08title. In comparison to last season where we were basically crumb champions after
01:13the fourth round, it came down to the last round of cricket this year to
01:18decide who would be the league champs and I think that in itself shows that
01:23you know the competition this year was a bit more tougher. We had a couple of
01:28games that were rained out which was unfortunate for some teams but all in
01:33all I think all teams have strengthened up but all in all I think the tournament
01:38was great. The teams are on a break with the next assignment being the T20
01:43competition. Venu, now on ET6 Sport
