00:00 The Olympics are approaching which means many athletes the world over are doing the necessary to hopefully book their tickets to France
00:06 That includes Trinidad and Tobago judoka Gabriella Wood who has been based in Scotland for several years
00:12 My preparation is coming along really well
00:16 I'm spending a lot of time on the mat working on my strategy and working on my techniques
00:21 I'm also spending a lot of time in the gym working on my strength and conditioning
00:24 So I'm in top shape over the last two years which is the qualification period for judo for the Olympic Games
00:30 I've been taking part in the International Judo Federation's World Tour
00:35 Which are a series of qualifiers for us to attend the Olympic Games
00:38 Regarding qualifiers she still has a month and a half left
00:42 With the hope that she makes it to the Olympics as such the training never stops
00:46 I've been working with my coach Lee Calder and his sons and my club judo club Esprit in Scotland
00:53 Who have been helped me prepare and train every day in sport
00:58 It's important for athletes to meticulously do their homework that includes studying the opponent. I am aware of my opponents
01:05 I've had the opportunity to train with quite a few of them at different training camps around the world
01:09 I've had the opportunity as well to watch a lot of them compete
01:13 So I know what a lot of them are coming with and I've been working on preparing myself for that
01:18 The TNT judoka is aiming for the second Olympics having previously participated in Tokyo in 2021
