00:00Hello again. A fair bit going on with the weather at the moment. Some heavy rain, some very high temperatures
00:05for the time of year on Friday and some mist and fog around also.
00:09Let's deal with that rain first of all. Spreading in this line of rain, as you can imagine is a
00:14weather front, bringing wet conditions through the central belt during Thursday evening.
00:18Spreading into southern Scotland right across Northern Ireland at the same time.
00:22The odd showery bit of rain getting into northwest England, north Wales by dawn, but most of England and Wales
00:27will have a dry night.
00:28As the rain moves in, some quite gusty conditions also, some lively winds, but further south, the winds remain fairly
00:35light.
00:36So with largely clear skies and those lighter winds, parts of central and southern England, South Wales will see some
00:42misty conditions.
00:43And particularly in the southwest of England, we could even see some dense patches of fog that may linger through
00:48Friday morning's rush hour.
00:50Temperatures not as low. Won't be as cold Thursday night as it was on Wednesday night.
00:56But with some clearer skies over eastern England, light winds here, we could still dip down into single figures.
01:02On to Friday. And this zone of rain is the main feature to watch, slowly pulling to the south.
01:07So drying up in central and southern Scotland and Northern Ireland quite quickly in the morning may take a little
01:13longer for the sunshine to appear.
01:15This zone over northern England, north and west Wales may well stay pretty drab throughout Friday.
01:20And as you can see, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle on and off, only slowly edging down towards parts
01:26of mid and then south Wales.
01:27Much of the Midlands, southern England will stay dry for most of Friday.
01:32Hazy sunshine across the southeast.
01:35The winds stay fairly light here.
01:36And we're still in the warm air here as well, because this line of rain is a cold front.
01:41Behind it, we'll see a fair few showers and a brisk wind and fresher air.
01:45So temperatures here, 15, 16, maybe 17 with some afternoon sunshine.
01:49Certainly feeling cooler under that weather front.
01:52But in the southeast, ahead of it, in the warm air, with a bit of sunshine, 26, perhaps even 27
01:57degrees Celsius.
01:58That is pretty high for this time of year.
02:01Now that cold front will continue to trickle southwards.
02:04We'll see some outbreaks of rain through Friday evening across the Midlands into Lincolnshire and eventually into East Anglia and
02:11the southeast.
02:11As you can see, it's kind of fizzling out as it does move through.
02:14And of course, this is where we really do need the rainfall, not producing huge amounts.
02:20The showers, however, will continue to pack into western Scotland.
02:24Some lively ones here and a fair few for Northern Ireland as we head into Saturday morning.
02:29Temperatures, well, behind that cold front, we will see cooler air.
02:32So it will be a fresher night again.
02:35Temperatures more widely back down into single digits.
02:38So a cooler start to the weekend.
02:39But overall, good looking day on Saturday.
02:41Could well be pretty cloudy for a good part of the morning over parts of East Anglia and the far
02:46southeast, along with the Channel Isles.
02:48There will be a few showers drifting in on the breeze into western parts of Wales.
02:52The odd one for Northern Ireland, northwest England.
02:54And again, the highlands of Scotland will see that mixture of sunshine and showers really throughout the day.
02:59Later in the day, the showers may ease as more persistent rain edges into the western hours.
03:04Quite breezy again across northern and western parts, but further south and east.
03:09The wind's fairly light and where we see some sunshine, as I said, a pretty good looking day for September.
03:13Over eastern England, much of the Midlands, temperatures not as high across the southeast, but still likely to get over
03:1920 Celsius, 21 or 22 in a few spots, generally 18 to 20 degrees through Saturday afternoon.
03:26And most places staying fine on Saturday night as well.
