00:24Did you get home okay? When was the last time that we had a Buckeye victory, a Browns victory,
00:32a Guardians victory all in one same weekend? Man, Monday felt good, didn't it? How about that?
00:39It happened a couple years in 2015, I think was. It's happened once since 2015. I did look
00:44that up because I thought this. It's funny how we think the same way, Tyvus. I was like,
00:48man, we had a hat trick this weekend. Man, it's a great day to be an Ohio fan, you know?
00:56Unless you like Kent. Before we get into football, I got to go behind the scenes. Ready? Yeah.
01:01Tyvus was hungry yesterday. He got something to eat. Yes. And I'm looking at him and I said,
01:06that looks good. What's in that? He tells me what's in it and he says jalapenos.
01:10And I'm looking at Tyvus and, you know, he's eating and enjoying himself and it looked really
01:15good and it smelled really good. And then I look over a little bit later and he is sweating
01:21profusely. Oh, wow. Hey, there's nothing wrong with a little kick. I took this roll of paper
01:28towels. I said, Tyvus, here, here, quick. You're okay. You recovered? Yeah. You know,
01:35I just needed a little bit of water, you know? It wasn't that it was like hot on my tongue.

01:40was hot, you know? And I needed that nice little kick to get me through, you know? I
01:45needed a nice little pick me up for the, for the post game. See, that's what they should
01:48do next time there's a weather delay. Get jalapenos on sandwiches and give them to all
01:53the guys. Yeah, baby. I just clown around. Wait, wait, wait. Who is sweating more? You
02:00or Jameer Perez or JJ Perez for Ohio State at 349 pounds rolling into the end zone on Saturday.
02:08That was awesome. Awesome. Pride of Glenville. I don't know, Andy. They say I sweat like
02:14a big kid. So, I mean, I give him a nice run for his money. That's funny. We've had a
02:22little
02:22time for it to settle in. Browns played a good all-around football game yesterday, Tyvus.
02:29Yeah, I mean, it was, it was something that a lot of people didn't expect. You know, when
02:34you, when you've seen that first game, you kind of had in your mind like, all right, this
02:38is how this season is about to be. You know, let's just focus on the young guys and, you
02:42know, maybe it'll be a quarterback change at some point. We'll just, you know, see how
02:47things go there. Hopefully they can figure out something. Hopefully the defense can play
02:51better. And then, boom, it was like a tale of two tapes. I mean, last week we gave up
02:56on them. This week, they kept us intrigued. You know, they, to come from behind and win
03:01like they did against Baker Mayfield. Knowing how Baker felt about this game, knowing how much
03:06it meant to him, to go out there and do it that way. It was, it was like, maybe smile,
03:12you know, and obviously the Deshaun trade hasn't been what we all wanted it to be. But man,
03:17in that moment, the Browns got it right. That's kind of where I was at. Like, all right, they
03:22got it right. At least when it comes to ability, playing ability and maybe, and hopefully this
03:27is something that can make Deshaun continue to build on. You know, a lot of people thought
03:32the confidence was gone. He definitely played like the confidence wasn't there
03:36anymore. Maybe he needed one of these come from behind wins like this to make him feel
03:42like, all right, I can still play this game at a high level. Obviously, I don't know how
03:46the fans is going to feel. It's a week to week thing. And that's just how this league
03:50is. It's very week to week. You're only as good as your last game. So hopefully he can
03:54stack the days.
03:56Ty, have us two things real quick. One, only because you're on the phone line right
03:59now. Ohio State's game against Iowa is at 3.30, in case anyone's wondering, on October
04:043rd. That was just announced today because they have to announce it a couple of days
04:08before, right? So 3.30, the Iowa game. Then the next question was, I thought it was fascinating
04:12listening to your pregame show yesterday. And somebody said that Blake Whitehart was going
04:16to be the X-Factor in that game. Man, you guys really hit the nail on the head during
04:20that show. Anytime somebody can find a way to give themselves a compliment, they're willing
04:28to do it. But we all said that we thought Harold Fanning would become the X-Factor. Harold
04:35had a pretty solid game. Yeah, he did. Obviously, Blake had the go-ahead touchdown, which they
04:40schemed up really well. I mean, he was wide open on the tight end throwback play. So I
04:44can say, Todd did a really good job calling the game plan. The only concerns I think people
04:49had is obviously the first half, the pre-snap penalty still played a factor into it. And
04:54then, obviously, the run game. Those are the two things that, if the Browns can clean those
04:59two things up, the way the NFL is shaving out is anybody's game. It's wide open this
05:04year. Obviously, you got, you know, in the AFC, you got your top three right now with
05:08the Bengals, Bills, and Chiefs. But outside of that, it's wide open. And the Browns, with
05:13that big win, have put themselves in position to be right in it. They just got, again, it all
05:17comes down to, can we continue to build? Can we continue to get better? Can we improve?
05:22And can you just get some wins?
05:24I thought it was interesting. And I still think Jacksonville took their foot off the
05:28pedal. But I had somebody that I was talking to that was at the game in Jacksonville, and
05:32they were just saying, you would not believe how bad the heat was on the road. And, you
05:37know, for the defense to be playing a game like that, truthfully, you know, all four quarters
05:42all the way through and then have to be on the field as long as they were, the heat made
05:45a difference. So yesterday, it was just as hot, maybe a little less hot than it was in
05:51Jacksonville the week before. And I mean, I actually think that the weather delay may
05:58have helped the defense have a chance to rest, catch their wind, and then go back out there
06:03and do what they did in the last two minutes of the game. Are you buying what I'm selling?
06:07No doubt they did. I mean, it allowed everybody. I think the heat probably played a factor for
06:11everybody. It's not just the defense. It's both sides of the ball. You know, I think what
06:15really helped the defense is that the offense was able to get more longer drives. I think
06:20time of possession wise, they might have won it if I think if I'm if I can remember correctly,
06:24I can't remember off the top of my head. But I mean, you think about the time of possession
06:28that they have versus Jacksonville versus yesterday, like that makes a big difference. You don't
06:33have your defense out there giving up these long play drives and being the offense going
06:37three and out and boom, they got to go back out there on the field and do it again. So
06:41that
06:41offense is obviously obviously played a part of it. But yeah, no doubt that everybody was able to
06:46catch their wind, you know, stretch out, you know, had a trainers look at a couple of things to get
06:50you ready to go. The hardest part about a weather delay is mentally, you know, did you mentally
06:55shut down? Because once you go in the locker room, you only go in the locker room for two times
07:00during a game, halftime and at the end of the game. So to have that extra in there, naturally your
07:04body's like, all right, let's just chill out. You know what I'm saying? Let's get ready to go home
07:08and you're done. But obviously you have to continue to stay locked in. And I think they
07:12Todd Munkin and them said they was playing and blasting music and guys was chatting about ball
07:17and stuff like that. So the mind stayed engaged and they was able to go out there and get it
07:22done.
07:22Obviously the rain helped a little bit, but for the most part, they, they needed it when they
07:26needed to get a stop, Carson Swessinger, Mason Graham, those and Derek Barnett, those guys led the way.
07:31Yeah. Tampa only had the ball 38 more seconds than the Browns did
07:34yesterday. That's how close it was. Tyvis Powell joining us from the Browns radio network. And of
07:40course you can see him on the big 10 tailgate shows Saturday, 10 o'clock in the morning. Riddle me
07:45this one, man who's been around and played in tons of football games for tons of teams. How does a
07:50team go from six penalties in the first half to none in the second? And how does a team go
07:55from 59 yards
07:57in total offense in the first half to 208 yards in the second half? What happens?
08:03Well, I think that what, what I, what I look at when a team have a tail of two halves
08:08like that,
08:09I actually credit it to coaching because that means that they got in there at halftime and those
08:13coaches drew up what was going on and got these guys to understand this is what we got to do.
08:17And
08:17those players bought into it. Also, you got to believe, you know, the guy that's, that's in,
08:23in the huddle, you know, and I think that Spencer Fano was the one that was like, you know,
08:27I was locked in, we were having fun. I was so locked in to what was going on in the
08:31huddle.
08:31So it's crazy because the team believes in Deshaun, you know, as, as much as the fans don't,
08:36the team does. And again, this is a whole new team. A lot of these guys wasn't around for,
08:41you know, the couple of seasons ago and all these things, that offense is fairly new. So
08:47he's done a great job of getting these guys to believe in him. And if they believe in him like
08:51that, you got to ride that way for, for the until they, until it doesn't work anymore. So
08:56I think that that, like I said, my first point is coaching, coaching went in there. I think they
09:01tied in and Rudy did a great job of showing what was going on. And this is how we're going
09:05to stop
09:06that made great adjustments. And the players locked in in that second half. And they believe that they
09:10had a chance to win that game. All right. What's your take on how the booing factor is going to
09:15play
09:15out on Sunday? Cause you know, we all, we all walk off the show and then we go walk up
09:19to the press box
09:20and me, you and Meredith always stand on the walkway to hear all the fans are going to react
09:25to introductions. I got to believe the Browns will introduce the defense.
09:29That's exactly what they go. Yeah. So, so, but my idea was to have like Joe Thomas or Nick
09:36Chubb or somebody there, some famous veteran of the team. And then, you know, when the offense
09:42goes out on the field, get the camera on those guys and Browns fans, please welcome Browns
09:47legend and hall of famer Joe Thomas to today's game. And while everybody's cheering for that,
09:52then all of a sudden Deshaun's under center and he says hike. So there's no chance to boo at that
09:57point. No, I think honestly, I think the booze should be good for him. It should help motivate
10:02him because what, what, what happened is it could be, he could make the coolest story ever.
10:08How about a guy that had all this beef with the fans at the beginning of the year, get booed.
10:15And by the end of the year plays so well that they actually applauded him. Okay. Wouldn't that be crazy?
10:21And the only thing that can help that help that to happen is he continue to play well
10:26and win games. If he does that, not, it's not going to kill all the booze. That's not
10:30going to happen. There's always going to be people out there that don't like Deshaun,
10:33no matter what happens. Right. And, and, and understand that what happened in the past
10:38and how all the money and all of that stuff is going to play a factor. It's going to be
10:42a side of the fan base that never ever will accept Deshaun, but then there will be a side
10:47that's like, you know what? I'm a Cleveland Browns fan. I know all the stuff.
10:50It hasn't been pretty since he's been here, but right now we win it and they're going
10:54to live in that moment. You know, that's what this thing is about getting these moments
10:58and enjoying these moments. Again, I said it on the post game show. I think that he's
11:03frustrated and the fans is frustrated. Both sides are frustrated about how this thing
11:07has went, but both sides want the same thing. Both sides just want to win games, get to the
11:12playoffs and ultimately try to get to a Superbowl. If that happens, you can definitely drain
11:17our booze with cheers on the other side of the coin. Baker Mayfield had an opportunity
11:23to stick it to his old team. His new team is now. Oh, and two. They lost the Ohio state
11:29championship. They didn't, they didn't come back and get the win and he's making 55 million
11:34a year. You think there's any buyer's remorse in Tampa right now?
11:39Probably. And the thing is this, we know Baker plays with a chip on his shoulder. And when you
11:43paid him, you took the chip off his shoulder. He should have left it on there. They should
11:47have really took the CJ Stroud route and allow him to play this season. And then if you know
11:53what, if he played over, you should be happy to pay him that money. But if he didn't, then
11:58you'll be, you'll be off the hook from paying him that money. So I think they kind of jumped
12:01the gun a little bit on Pana.
