00:00The coach openly said garbage time.
00:01He used the term garbage time.
00:03And as far as the communication, you run as far and fast as you can,
00:07and I'm going to heave ho it.
00:09Away we go.
00:12What's the point of calling a big long play call if that's going to be the case?
00:15Just have him call it up in the huddle.
00:16Hell, Bernie used to do that.
00:18Bernie used to draw in the dirt.
00:19Yes, he did.
00:20And we love Bernie.
00:21Because we had kids.
00:22We had literal dirt at Municipal Stadium.
00:25Yeah, it was awesome.
00:25The infield.
00:26But it was better because it was in one end.
00:29I'll say this.
00:30Ours was way better than the Coliseum in Oakland.
00:32Because ours was just in the one end zone.
00:34It didn't stretch from the 30 to the other 30 in the middle of the field.
00:40Oh, you didn't like it in the heart of the track of where all of the football game is played?
00:43No.
00:43I thought it added to the challenge.
00:45That was awful.
00:46You didn't like how second base was permanently just stuck right there about the 45-yard line?
00:51I loved watching.
00:52Actually, the bag was there, too.
00:53They didn't want to go through the hassle.
00:55I loved watching Nick Chubb have to adjust his running just slightly, and he was better
01:01than anybody else out there on the field because he went from dirt to grass, then back to dirt,
01:06then back to grass as he was running.
01:08It was a wonderful thing to see.
01:10It's a lot of cross-country meets here like that, so you've got to get used to it.
01:14They will do anything they can.
01:15The NFL will do anything they can to get you to watch.
01:17They'll spend as much money as possible.
01:19They'll make all the money in the world, but damn it, that field.
01:21Nah, they do not give an F about the field.
01:23We want to see if they're going to do throwback uniforms, do throwback multi-purpose venues.
01:29The Browns have a chamber in their building that – how often do the Browns play at altitude?
01:36Like once every three years?
01:37They have a room in that building that's designed for altitude so you can get used to playing
01:42at altitude.
01:44It's just a small, small little cubicle room.
01:46I imagine the Browns are one of all 32 teams except for Denver that try to get you ready
01:53to play at altitude, but that field, nah, forget it.
01:55Nah, you'll play on whatever grass or synthetic we put out there.
01:59We'll put concrete out there.
02:00It doesn't matter.
02:01It's the weirdest thing ever.
02:02Anyway, you mentioned before we go to the calls, like you brought – I brought up
02:05preconceived notions with you, and you said, what about Shador?
02:08Because you were like, well, he did have it, but couldn't Shador have taken over the job?
02:11See, this is where – and this is only – it's actually not very speculative because
02:17it wasn't like I heard it from Todd, but you know you heard it from other people,
02:20and you heard it, Zach heard it, Jason heard it, other people, the fan heard it, where it
02:26was like John Harbaugh at one point was basically saying, like, you don't want that job, Todd.
02:33You don't want that job.
02:35And there were people going, you don't want that job.
02:39And how many people took Kevin's side when it came to the whole – I mean, you mentioned
02:43it yourself many times about the whole, well, how good is the quarterback, is he really worth
02:48the fan base that goes after the head coach that doesn't play him?
02:54Is he really worth that?
02:56And I think by and large to obviously the NFL coaching – coaches, they say no.
03:02So if there's preconceived notions that you can fix, quote-unquote, Deshaun Watson,
03:07there's probably preconceived notions about Shador Sanders, are there not, if you're
03:11taking over that job, if you're Todd Munkin?
03:13And so that's another thing that Shador Sanders had to overcome, and preconceived notions
03:17are a big, big thing because coaches don't like to make snap decisions.
03:21They like to have an idea of what they take.
03:23It takes them a long time to make changes because they're seen as a figurehead.
03:28They're seen as a leader.
03:29And if you're making quick decisions, rash decisions so quickly, they feel it erodes their
03:35leadership quicker than what it could.
03:37I mean, everybody's voice comes to a silence at some point as far as a leader is concerned.
03:42Everybody runs their course, but you don't want it to run sooner than what it is.
03:46You don't want to lose your locker room before you even really take it over.
03:49And I just – I keep thinking back going, you know, if he was that – in the interview
03:54process, if he was that jazzed up about Deshaun Watson and we hear like, well, you know,
03:58John Harbaugh this and John Harbaugh that and all the other coaches around the NFL going,
04:03oh, you know, you don't know if you want that job.
04:06Okay.
04:06Jason was in here himself saying it.
04:09And I just think that over and over going, that's another thing that, yeah, you can open
04:13up that competition.
04:14I'm glad you did.
04:15But that's something that in the back of Todd Munkin's head that Shador Sanders has to
04:20overcome.
04:21That's not going to be anything that anybody likes hearing, especially Shador Sanders fans.
04:26But I will just say this.
04:27You put together the logic.
04:27Because I actually think a lot of Shador fans have done a good job of just – believe
04:32it or not, unless maybe I'm just not checking my mentions enough.
04:35I think they're just kind of biding their time because they know.
04:38We all know this is going to end.
04:40And I think they –
04:41Well, you would look at what Deshaun Watson did and go –
04:43Yeah.
04:43Yeah.
04:44First of all, this sets up so beautifully.
04:47And this is one thing I absolutely did get right that I thought, regardless of whether
04:52the coach or you think or don't think that Shador Sanders is ready.
04:58And I think you've had two coaches in two years tell you he's not ready.
05:01But we know about the NFL.
05:02You get pushed into service before you're ready, whether you like it or you don't like
05:05it.
05:05That's just the nature of how this sport works.
05:08Like, right now, the Raiders can tell you time and time again, like, oh, you know,
05:13we're going to – we're going to methodically prepare Mendoza to be ready.
05:18And, you know, they did get the win and Cousins looked good in week one, whatever.
05:21Eventually, Mendoza's going to have to play and it doesn't really matter if you're ready
05:24or not.
05:25It doesn't matter.
05:26There's only – there's only so much fine-tuning you can do before the test.
05:29Well, before, hey, the bullets are flying, now things are different.
05:32I think this sets up so perfectly for Shador to come in with 100% of the fans behind him
05:40and –
05:40Sounds like some of the team's starting to go his direction, too.
05:43Well, and, yeah, I think there's going to be excitement and there's going to be momentum
05:48and you're going to be coming home.
05:50Like, this is the – I tried to at least put out – open the door like, hey, you guys
05:56realize this is going to be a better situation that he's going to be walking into with an
06:00offensive line that will have some weeks to have gelled and the ability to see what the
06:05receivers can do and what they can't do and making sure to put everybody in a better
06:09position than week one.
06:11Because let's be honest, Shador fans, even if you've been screaming all along,
06:15our guy's better, our guy's better, our guy's better.
06:19Would you have wanted him to go out there on Sunday after seeing what you saw with some
06:24of the complications out there and with the defense as bad as they were?
06:27Or, like, let's admit, that would not have been an ideal situation for your boy.
06:31Fair point.
06:32I think it's a fair point.
06:34I've alluded to it twice.
06:36Now, Raheem Sanders, Rocket Sanders, was still pretty positive about Deshaun Watson.
06:42Let's get the good with the bad.
06:44But, I don't know, it seemed Ronnie Hickman – now, Ronnie Hickman's a safety, but Ronnie
06:48Hickman didn't seem to be too thrilled, it seemed, about Deshaun Watson.
06:52Here's Ronnie.
06:52Coach said today that he's sticking with Deshaun.
06:55Do you like that continuity that he's given him another week in that starting role?
06:59That's above my pay grade.
07:01I just said, yeah.
07:02Not an endorsement, no.
07:03He also got a follow-up question there.
07:06And he had an opportunity to kind of walk that back.
07:10Fair enough.
07:12Blake, have you seen – I mean, he's one of your leaders.
07:14How have you seen him handle the struggles, but then getting that starting job and trying
07:19to move forward in that role?
07:20Oh, he handles everything like the pro he is.
07:26Super ball!
07:29Super rounds!
07:32Yeah!
07:36216-474-0092.
07:38Fred and Hudson, congratulations on all your success.
07:41You're next up on the fan.
07:43Hey, guys.
07:44First time, long time.
07:46Old laser eyes Barry's back out.
07:48He strikes again.
07:50Nobody wanted this job.
07:51You guys are right.
07:52We knew we weren't going to be good.
07:54We traded miles.
07:55That wasn't an overnight thing.
07:57We all saw it coming.
07:59You don't bring in Shield House or Udinski to have them struggle in year one.
08:03You just don't do it.
08:04Because then they got strike one on them.
08:06Now they're going to fire Munkin after this year, start out next year with a new coach
08:10and a new QB, and then we're going to roll.
08:13Also, shout out Team Red for winning the Ryder Cup.
08:15Go Browns!
08:16All right.
08:17Thank you very much.
08:18This is Ryder Cup season for a lot of the golfers out there.
08:23Now, I've been more into golf.
08:25Should I get into the Ryder Cup?
08:27No, I mean, I think that's like his personal.
08:28I think like he's got his team and they just had a big weekend.
08:32Maybe they skipped a Browns game altogether.
08:35I talked to somebody who was going to miss the Browns game because they had
08:39either the end of their golf league.
08:41I'm like, your golf league goes this late into the season?
08:43Well, they're playing.
08:44They're playing.
08:44That's one thing.
08:45But I'm going, I'm sorry.
08:47Of all the Browns games you got to see this year, this Sunday is must-see.
08:51You better be there with bells on.
08:52You better.
08:53This is one.
08:53You want to do yard work?
08:54You do yard work next Sunday.
08:56The Sunday after this coming Sunday.
08:57Or any of the other Sundays after.
08:59You want to get other things done?
09:01You go right on ahead and pick all the other Sundays.
09:03Even the Thursday night game against the Steelers if you want to.
09:05This one, you need to be there with bells on.
09:07Are we tracking down Baker Audio all week?
09:09No.
09:09Especially because he's feisty because of the way that he blew it in week one.
09:14Oh, boy.
09:15I mean, he totally blew it in week one.
09:17It's going to be a fun week.
09:19It's going to be a real fun week.
09:21I mean, I'm still pulling for the Browns, obviously.
09:22I think I'm in the minority.
09:24Are you really?
09:24I think so.
09:25I think there's people who are going, Ken, I love the Browns.
09:28I want them to do well.
09:30They're not going to do well.
09:31And I want this to be bad.
09:32I think there's going to be people who say that to me this week.
09:34Yeah.
09:35Oh, I've already had it.
09:35I've already had people say it.
09:37And do I call them not real Browns fans?
09:38You have in the past not been happy when Browns fans have rooted for them at the end of the
09:43season.
09:43A lose a game.
09:44Or when they were done with a coach.
09:46Because I've told you I've rooted against the Browns plenty of times in my life.
09:49To get what I wanted.
09:50So, this week, are you going to, for once, is Ken Carman going to allow and provide a forum for
09:57fans to say they're not rooting for the Cleveland Browns that are born and bred Clevelanders, Northeast Ohioans?
10:03The question is, is, do, okay, that's going to have to get brought up in the show later, what we
10:10just saw on TV.
10:13The question is, do I think they can win?
10:15The answer is no.
10:17So, I don't think they can win.
10:19And would it make the, let me ask you this.
10:21Do I want Browns fans to be happy?
10:24Yes.
10:24Okay.
10:25And I don't think the Browns can win, right?
10:27Correct.
10:27Okay.
10:28Would it make more Browns fans happy if Deshaun Watson wasn't the quarterback anymore?
10:32Yeah.
10:33Okay, you got your answer.
