00:00Next Sunday could be pure poetry. I want you guys to hear this. This is with the
00:04question. Notice, I don't really think he answers the question. Hit it.
00:10When you say that it wasn't all him, does that mean that you're sticking with Deshaun for next week in
00:17Tampa?
00:18I'm sure as hell not firing me. I'm not firing our staff. I'm not giving it all of our players.
00:22So he happens to be one of 53, and however many practice squad guys we got, and our staff,
00:28he's one of that. So we'll evaluate everything. But to just say that emotionally here at the end,
00:36when we're, you know, I mean, we just didn't play good enough. They didn't coach well enough.
00:39Could have said yes. No one's talking about firing you. Not yet anyway.
00:46I know you can't kick them off the team. So that wasn't the question.
00:50It wasn't the question of whether or not he's getting kicked off the team.
00:53The question was whether or not he's starting next week. And we'll evaluate everybody.
00:57When you're evaluating everybody, that means that you're considering it.
01:00You're considering a change already.
01:03Well, remember, a part of the explanation to begin with on why he won the job was the schedule.
01:11The home and away. And I'm smiling. I'm kind of saying it sarcastically,
01:17but that is actually what was said by the organization is that the schedule was taken into consideration.
01:22This whole thing was just a shift to clock in and get through.
01:26Never heard anything like that. That's all this season has already become.
01:29It's been one week and it's just a shift that you clock in and you do your best to make
01:34it through with smiles at a job you can't stand.
01:37And then you clock out and hopefully that that's you can have some fun after work.
01:41That's what the off season is going to be. That's what you're hoping for.
01:44I mean, that is not. Did you do the same thing I did or am I making stories up my
01:48head here?
01:49It's why the Saturdays are going to be more important to Browns fans than the Sundays.
01:52Because I got to tell you, like, is that is that even to be disputed?
01:55Well, I'll tell you this. If you're looking for a reason to watch on Sunday, if you're going, I can't
01:59do it.
01:59The old guy is playing against us and he's going to let a know something poetic can happen here.
02:03Is that the guy who who you replaced can end the time of the replacement here in Cleveland next Sunday?
02:12Could he not like if they go down there again and they get boat raced again and that guy puts
02:18it on him, which he very well could.
02:20They got beat yesterday, so I'm sure he's going to be loaded for bear and the Buccaneer is going to
02:24be loaded for bear.
02:25So you can go down there and if he puts it on you, what you simply can't bring him back
02:30up and start him week three.
02:31That's it. And then I do think an agreement has to be made where, yeah, you're you be on the
02:35roster.
02:35We ain't gonna see you again. Yes.
02:37Well, I said two weeks ago, I thought there's no way in hell.
02:39They'd only start him two weeks and then bring Shadur. And why would you even do that?
02:43Why would you not just start Shadur if you're going to give to Sean two weeks?
02:47And then yesterday, Todd said when they asked him if he's going to be the quarterback next week, he just
02:52said, well, I'm not firing me. Yeah.
02:54And he'd evaluate everything.
02:56So I changed my mind. Apparently we evaluate everybody.
03:00We're that's what I answer with.
03:03I know you wouldn't ask to ask that question with other teams with a lot with some other teams.
03:07Actually, there's more open spots than we think.
03:09But with some other teams, you just wouldn't ask that question.
03:11But I think after one week, like if Todd Munkin would have said, yes, he's starting.
03:16I really wouldn't have said like, well, you made your decision.
03:19You made your decision.
03:19But since you didn't and you really didn't answer the question now, because they probably will hear this at some
03:25point, I'm sure he'll be pretty strident later on today.
03:29Was it noon?
03:29He'll be pretty strident later on today and named Deshaun Watson the starter.
03:33But when you say that you're thinking it when you won't say it, you're thinking it.
03:37So I to either way, if you were saying evaluation or you wouldn't say that he's a starter, then you're
03:42thinking about removing them already.
03:43So then it leads me to believe one of two things.
03:46Either Shudor was that far behind and they're really afraid to put him out there.
03:49Or Todd Munkin really don't know what the hell he's doing and couldn't handle this.
03:52Couldn't do it.
03:53Because there was one of the couple of things that I had seen in the first half.
03:56And again, it's one game.
03:57But the one game was that bad of a sample size, Anthony, where like you and I had a bit
04:02of an argument there about the first half.
04:04And the defense wasn't good.
04:06I also thought the defense couldn't get off the field because A, they were giving up first downs.
04:10B, you couldn't keep the offense out there long enough for them to get any rest.
04:15And then by the time there ended up being a chance for any rest, the game's out of hand.
04:19I mean, what was it?
04:20Was it 24-0?
04:21Yes, it was.
04:22It was 24-0 and a half.
04:23So the game's already out of hand.
04:24And they came out and used the second half as a practice.
04:29And as bad as it is, it can get even worse depending on how you see things.
04:35Because I guarantee there's a lot of Browns fans who even, and I know you love to call people out
04:41in revisionist history.
04:42And I do too, to be honest with you.
04:44There's a lot of people who, yeah, thought that the time was over in 2021 and were ready to move
04:51on.
04:51They weren't necessarily ready to move on to that guy.
04:54And I think that they are hoping here with the last four years that this just comes to an end.
04:58And this all has to stop.
04:59So I bet there are a lot of Browns fans hoping that they go down there.
05:02And if it's going to be bad, you better get your nose rubbed in it so they make sure they
05:07don't see them up in week three up here when we host Carolina.
05:09Hey, Kenny, I've absolutely had people, because they heard me say it on the radio,
05:13I've had people confirm that they're rooting for them to lose while Deshaun Watson's out there.
05:18I mean, I've never seen a team rooting, a fan base rooting for their team to lose this early in
05:25the season.
05:25But I don't think those people are nasty.
05:26I think they're looking at it going, you have to do this and it has to be bad so they
05:31learn their lesson so he doesn't play up here.
05:34That's where I think a lot of fans are.
05:35That whatever this is has to end and a lesson needs to be learned.
05:40So it can't just be bad.
05:41It has to be embarrassingly bad.
05:43And the guy across the way next Sunday will do everything he can and not just make it bad, but
05:48he will be embarrassing.
05:49You guys were sitting there saying before the show, my God, thank God we didn't play Chicago.
05:52They're going for the scoring record this year.
05:54I mean, they put up 59 points yesterday.
05:56I thought Jacksonville let the Browns off the hook in a big way.
05:59I'll tell you what, if your defense is any bit like it was yesterday, they'll take a shot at it
06:03next Sunday.
06:04I guarantee they will.
06:06They don't got the horses.
06:07Chicago does, but...
06:08Yeah, that's if Baker can hold on to the ball.
06:11Three fumbles, four fumbles yesterday.
06:13Well, you got to get to him first.
06:14Yeah.
06:15The other guys aren't afraid to throw the football.
06:16Well, I've accused Dylan Gabriel of that.
06:19He's not as afraid as Deshaun Watson is.
06:22Shador's not afraid to throw the football.
06:24The other guy's afraid to throw it.
06:25And when he does, like even the screen, like wobblers, I'm like, are you, you're, you're, you're afraid to throw
06:31a screen right now.
06:32I will tell you, as bad as that was yesterday, I've seen Deshaun Watson play worse than a Browns uniform.
06:38That's nowhere near one of the worst games he's played.
06:41That's the crazy thing.
06:42And this is one of the thoughts I had in that game yesterday in the first half.
06:46I'm watching it and I'm going, well, if this were any other quarterback that had been out as long as
06:52he had two years, you would say, oh, well, he's rusty.
06:55The problem is I can't tell the difference because he's never been good in the Browns uniform.
06:59He's pretty much been bad the whole time.
07:02So what would rusty?
07:04What would rusty even look like?
07:05Well, he has not played in two years, right?
07:07It's not like he played a bunch of the preseason either.
07:09So you would say rust except I've never seen Watson good listen with the Browns.
07:15So what would rust look like again?
07:18How would you compare?
07:19It just doesn't wash with me because I know it wasn't two years, but Joe Flacco was raking the lawn
07:23when they called him up and play better.
07:26Okay.
07:28Not yelling at you.
07:29I'm yelling at the rusty thing.
07:31I guess I was curious what anybody thought it was going to look like.
07:36Like it has been two years and he's been bad before that.
07:40So on what basis did anybody think in getting caught in the thought, oh, hey, maybe the Browns are going
07:50to come out and look good.
07:50He was always going to be bad.
07:52There was no planet where he wasn't going to be bad.
07:55And so it wasn't like that, that that was some shocker to me.
08:00He was so heavy.
