00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

07:10They prayed to the Lord and he answered them.
07:12He spoke to them from a pillar of cloud.
07:15They obeyed his regulations and the ordinance he gave them.

07:23They found you to be a forgiving God,
07:26but also one who punished their sinful deeds.

09:02When will you come to me?
09:04I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace.
09:09I will not even consider doing what is dishonest.
09:12I hate doing evil.
09:14I will have no part of it.
09:16I will have nothing to do with a perverse person.
09:20I will not permit evil.
09:23I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret.
09:27I will not tolerate anyone who has a haughty demeanor and an arrogant attitude.

10:08is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
10:12Amen.
10:20The prophet Daniel, chapter 9
10:25In the first year of Darius, the son of Azuarius, of the offspring of the Medes,
10:30who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans, in the first year of his reign,
10:36I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years about which Yahweh's word came to Jeremiah the prophet
10:45for the accomplishing of the desolations of Jerusalem, being seventy years.
10:53I said my face to the Lord God, to seek by prayer and petition, with fasting sackcloth and ashes.
11:01I prayed to Yahweh my God and made confession, and said,
11:05O Lord the great and dreadful God, who keeps covenant and loving-kindness with those who love him and keep
11:13his commandments.
11:15We have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly.
11:20We have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances.
11:27We have not listened to your servants, the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, princes, and our
11:34fathers,
11:35to all the people of the land.
11:38O Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as it is today.
11:45To the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to all Israel who are near, who are far
11:53off,
11:54through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass, that they have trespassed against you.
12:02Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, princes, and fathers, because we have sinned against you.
12:12To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him.
12:18We have not obeyed Yahweh, our God's voice.
12:23We have not walked in his laws, which he said before us, through his servants, the prophets.
12:30Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, turning aside that they should not obey your voice.
12:40Therefore, the curse and the oath, written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, has been poured out
12:47on us,
12:48for we have sinned against him.
12:51He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us,
12:58by bringing on us a great evil.
13:01For under the whole sky such has not been done, as has been done to Jerusalem.
13:07As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us.
13:14Yet have we not entreated the favour of Yahweh, our God,
13:18that we should turn from our iniquities and have discernment in your truth?
13:24Therefore, Yahweh has watched over the evil and brought it upon us.
13:29For Yahweh, our God, is righteous in all the works that he does,
13:33and we have not obeyed his voice.
13:38Now, O Lord, our God, who has brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand,
13:45and have gotten yourself renowned as it is today.
13:49We have sinned.
13:51We have done wickedly.
13:54Lord, according to all your righteousness,
13:56let your anger and please let your wrath be turned from your city, Jerusalem.
14:02Your holy mansion.
14:06Because for our sins and for the iniquities of our fathers,
14:09Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.
14:16Now, therefore, our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his petitions,
14:21and make your face shine upon your sanctuary that is desolate for the Lord's sake.
14:29My God, turn your ear and hear.
14:32Open your eyes and see our desolation,
14:36the city which is called by your name.
14:39For we do not present our petitions before you for our righteousness,
14:44but for your great mercy's sake.
14:48Lord, hear.
14:49Lord, forgive.
14:50Lord, listen and do.
14:53Don't defer for your own sake, my God,
14:56because your city and your people are calling on you by your name.
15:02And while I was speaking and praying and confessing my sin
15:06and the sin of my people Israel
15:08and presenting my supplication before Yahweh, my God,
15:12for the holy mountain of my God.
15:15Yes, even while I was speaking in prayer.
15:19The man Gabriel, who I had seen in the vision at the beginning
15:24being caused swiftly to fly,
15:28touched me about the time of the evening offering.
15:31He instructed me and talked with me and said,
15:35Daniel, I have come to give you wisdom and understanding.
15:40At the beginning of your petitions,
15:42the commandment went out and I have come to tell you,
15:45for you are greatly beloved.
15:48Therefore, consider the matter and understand the vision.
15:53Seventy weeks are decreed on your people
15:55and on your holy city to finish disobedience
15:58and to make an end of sins
16:00and to make reconciliation for iniquity
16:03and to bring in everlasting righteousness,
16:06sealing up vision and prophecy
16:08and to anoint the most holy.
16:14Know therefore and discern
16:16that from the going out of the commandment
16:17to restore and rebuild Jerusalem
16:19to the appointed one, the prince,
16:22will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks.
16:26It will be built again with street and moat,
16:29even in troubled times.
16:32After the sixty-two weeks,
16:35the anointed one will be cut off
16:37and will have nothing.
16:40The people of the prince who come
16:42will destroy the city and the sanctuary.
16:45Its end will be with a flood
16:47and war will be even to the end.
16:51Desolations are determined.
16:53He will make a firm covenant with many for one week.
16:56In the middle of the week,
16:59he will cause the sacrifice
17:00and the offering to cease.
17:03On the wing of abominations
17:05will come one who makes desolate,
17:07even to the full end.
17:10And that is determined,
17:12wrath will be poured out on the desolate.
17:16This is the word of the Lord.
17:19Thanks be to God.
17:32Mary said,
17:34My soul exalts the Lord,
17:37and my spirit has begun to rejoice
17:39in God my Saviour,
17:42because he has looked upon
17:44the humble state of his servant.
17:47For from now on,
17:49all generations will call me blessed,
17:52because he who is mighty
17:53has done great things for me,
17:56and holy is his name.
17:58From generation to generation,
18:00he is merciful to those who fear him.
18:05He has demonstrated power with his arm.
18:08He has scattered those whose pride
18:10wells up from the sheer arrogance
18:12of their hearts.
18:14He has brought down the mighty
18:16from their thrones,
18:17and has lifted up those of lowly position.
18:21He has filled the hungry with good things,
18:24and has sent the rich away empty.
18:27He has helped his servant Israel,
18:30remembering his mercy,
18:32as he promised to our ancestors,
18:35to Abraham,
18:36and to his descendants forever.
18:40Glory be to the Father,
18:42and to the Son,
18:43and to the Holy Spirit,
18:44as it was in the beginning,
18:47is now,
18:48and ever shall be,
18:50world without end.
18:51Amen.
19:00The Gospel according to Saint Mark,
19:02chapter 14.
19:05They led Jesus away to the high priest.
19:09All the chief priests,
19:11elders,
19:11and scribes
19:12came together with him.
19:15Peter had followed from a distance,
19:17until he came into the court
19:19of the high priest.
19:21He was sitting with the officers,
19:23warming himself
19:24by the light of the fire.
19:28Now the chief priests,
19:29and the whole council,
19:31were looking for witnesses against Jesus,
19:33to put him to death,
19:35but found none.
19:37For many gave false testimony against him,
19:40but their testimony did not agree with each other.
19:45Some stood up,
19:46and gave false testimony against him,
19:48saying,
19:49We heard him say,
19:50I will destroy the temple,
19:52that is made by hand,
19:53and in three days,
19:54I will rebuild another,
19:56made without hands.
19:58But even so,
20:00their testimony did not agree.
20:04The high priest stood up in the middle,
20:06and asked Jesus,
20:09Have you no answer?
20:12What is it,
20:14which these give witness against you?
20:18But he stayed quiet,
20:20and answered nothing.
20:23Again the high priest asked him,
20:25Are you the Christ,
20:27the Son of the Blessed?
20:30Jesus said,
20:32I am.
20:35You will see the Son of Man,
20:37sitting at the right hand of power,
20:39coming with the clouds of the sky.
20:44The high priest tore his clothes,
20:47saying,
20:47What further need do we have of witnesses?
20:50You have all heard this blasphemy.
20:52What do you think?
20:55They all condemned him to be worthy of death,
20:58and some began to spit on him,
21:01and covered his face,
21:02and began to beat him with fists,
21:04saying,
21:05Prophesy,
21:06Tell us who hit you.
21:09The officers struck him,
21:11with the palms of their hands.
21:15As Peter was in the courtyard below,
21:17one of the maids of the high priest came,
21:19and seeing Peter warming himself,
21:22looked at him,
21:23and said,
21:24You were also with the Nazarene,
21:27this Jesus.
21:29But he denied it,
21:31saying,
21:31I neither know nor understand,
21:33what it is you are talking about.
21:36He went out on the porch,
21:39and the rooster crowed.
21:42The maid saw him,
21:43and began again,
21:45to tell those who were stood nearby,
21:48This is one of them.
21:50But again,
21:51he denied it.
21:55After a little while again,
21:57those who stood by,
21:58said to Peter,
21:59Truly you must be one of them,
22:01for you are a Galilean,
22:02your speech gives you away.
22:05But he began to curse,
22:07and to swear,
22:08I don't know this man,
22:10of whom you speak.
22:13But the rooster crowed,
22:15a second time.
22:18Peter remembered the word,
22:20how the Jesus had told him,
22:23Before the rooster has crowed twice,
22:26you will deny me three times.
22:29And when he thought about that,
22:31he wept.
22:34This is the word of the Lord.
22:37Thanks be to God.
22:48Now according to your word,
22:50Sovereign Lord,
22:51permit your servant
22:53to depart in peace.
22:55For my eyes have seen your salvation,
22:58that you have prepared,
23:00in the presence of all peoples,
23:03a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
23:05and for glory to your people Israel.
23:11Glory be to the Father,
23:12and to the Son,
23:13and to the Holy Spirit,
23:15as it was in the beginning,
23:17is now,
23:17and ever shall be,
23:19world without end.
23:20Amen.
23:26I believe in God,
23:28the Father Almighty,
23:30maker of heaven and earth,
23:32and in Jesus Christ,
23:33his only Son,
23:34our Lord,
23:35who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
23:38born of the Virgin Mary,
23:41suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
23:44who was crucified,
23:45dead,
23:46and buried,
23:47he descended into hell.
23:50On the third day,
23:51he rose again from the dead.
23:53He ascended into heaven,
23:55and is sitting at the right hand of God,
23:58the Father Almighty.
24:00From there he shall come to judge
24:02the living and the dead.
24:05I believe in the Holy Spirit,
24:07the holy Catholic Church,
24:09the communion of saints,
24:11the forgiveness of sins,
24:13the resurrection of the body,
24:15and the life everlasting.
24:18Amen.
24:23The Lord be with you,
24:26and with your spirit.
24:30Let us pray.
24:34Lord, have mercy upon us.
24:37Christ, have mercy upon us.
24:42Lord, have mercy upon us.
24:48Our Father, who is in heaven,
24:52holy is your name.
24:54May your kingdom come.
24:56May your will be done
24:58on earth as it is in heaven.
25:01Give us this day
25:03our daily bread.
25:04Forgive us our trespasses,
25:06as we forgive those
25:08who trespass against us.
25:11Lead us not into temptation,
25:13but deliver us from evil.
25:16For yours is the kingdom,
25:18the power and the glory,
25:21for ever and ever.
25:23Amen.
25:28O Lord,
25:29O Lord, show your mercy upon us,
25:32and grant us your salvation.
25:37Protect and guide those in authority over us,
25:42and mercifully hear us when we call upon you.
25:47O Lord,
25:48O Lord,
25:48O Lord,
25:48save your people,
25:49and bless your inheritance.
25:51And make your chosen people joyful.
25:56O Lord, save your people,
26:00and bless your inheritance.
26:04Give peace in our time,
26:06O Lord,
26:08because there is none other
26:10who fights for us
26:11but only you,
26:12O God.
26:15O God,
26:16make clean our hearts within us,
26:19and take not your Holy Spirit
26:22from us.
26:31Let us pray.
26:33Lord,
26:34we beseech you,
26:36let your continual pity
26:38cleanse and defend your church,
26:40because it cannot continue in safety
26:43without your help.
26:46Reserve it evermore
26:47by your help and goodness.
26:49Through Jesus Christ,
26:51our Lord.
26:52Amen.
27:00O God,
27:01from whom all holy desires,
27:04all good counsels,
27:06and all just works proceed,
27:08give to your servants that peace
27:10which the world cannot give,
27:13that our hearts may be set
27:15to obey your commandments,
27:18and also that, by you,
27:20we, being defended from the fear
27:23of our enemies,
27:24may pass our time in rest and quietness.
27:28Through the merits of Jesus Christ,
27:31our Saviour.
27:32Amen.
27:37Lighten our darkness,
27:38we beseech you, O Lord,
27:40and by your great mercy,
27:42defend us all
27:43from perils and dangers of this night.
27:47For the love of your only Son,
27:49our Saviour,
27:50Jesus Christ.
27:52Amen.
27:56Almighty God,
27:57who has given us grace at this time
27:59with one accord
28:00to make our common supplications to you
28:04and promises that when two or three
28:06are gathered together in your name,
28:09you will grant their requests.
28:12Fulfill now, O Lord,
28:15the desires and petitions of your servants,
28:18as may be most beneficial for them,
