01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble

10:31The prophet Ezekiel chapter 31
10:36In the eleventh year, in the third month,
10:38in the first day of the month,
10:40Yahweh's word came to me, saying,
10:42Son of man, tell Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and his multitude,
10:47whom I like you in your greatness.
10:51Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon,
10:54with beautiful branches,
10:56and with a forest-like shade of high stature,
10:59and its top was among the thick boughs.
11:02The waters nourished it,
11:04the deep made it grow,
11:06its rivers ran all around its plantation,
11:09and it sent out its channels to the trees of the field.
11:14Therefore its structure was exalted above the trees of the field,
11:17and its boughs were multiplied.
11:19Its branches became long by reason of many waters,
11:23when it spread them out.
11:25All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs.
11:30Under its branches,
11:31all the animals of the field gave birth to their young,
11:34and the great nations lived under its shadow.
11:37And so it was beautiful in its greatness,
11:40in the length of its branches,
11:42for its root was by many waters.
11:46The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it.
11:49The cypress trees were not like its boughs,
11:52the pine trees were not as its branches,
11:55nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in beauty.
11:59I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches,
12:02so that all the trees of Eden that were in the garden of God envied it.
12:10Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh,
12:12because you are exalted in stature,
12:15and he has set his top among the thick boughs,
12:18and his heart is lifted up in his height,
12:21I will deliver him, even him,
12:24into the hand of the mighty one of the nations.
12:27He will surely deal with him.
12:29I have driven him out for his wickedness.
12:31Strangers, the tyrants of the nations,
12:34have cut him off and have left him.
12:36His branches have fallen on the mountains,

13:06The mighty ones don't stand up on their height,
13:09even all those who drink water,
13:11for they are delivered to death,
13:13to the lower parts of the earth,
13:15among the children of men,
13:17with those who go down to the pit.
13:20Thus says the Lord Yahweh,
13:22In the day when he went down to shale,
13:25I caused a mourning.
13:26I covered the deep for him,
13:28and I restrained its rivers.
13:31The great rivers were stopped.
13:32I caused the Lebanon to mourn for him,
13:35and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
13:38I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall,
13:41when I cast him down to shale with those who descend to the pit.
13:47All the trees of Eden,
13:48the choice and the best of Lebanon,
13:50all that drink water,
13:51were comforted in the lower parts of the earth.
13:54They also went down into shale with him,
13:58to those who were slain by the sword.
14:00Yes, those who were his arm,
14:03who lived under his shadow in the middle of the nations.
14:06To whom are you thus like in glory,
14:09and in the greatness among the trees of Eden?
14:14Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden
14:16to the lower parts of the earth.
14:19You will lie in the middle of the uncircumcised,
14:21and with those who are slain by the sword.
14:25This is Pharaoh and all his multitude,
14:28says the Lord Yahweh.

14:49Mary said,
14:50My soul exalts the Lord,
14:53and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
14:57because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.

16:18The Gospel according to St. Mark,
16:20chapter 9.
16:22After six days,
16:23Jesus took with him Peter,
16:25James,
16:25and John,
16:26and went with them up into a high mountain by themselves.
16:31He was changed in form before them.
16:33His clothing became shining white,
16:36as no cleaner on earth would make it.
16:39And there came before him Elijah with Moses,
16:42and they were talking with Jesus.
16:45Peter said to Jesus,
16:46Master,
16:47it is good for us to be here.
16:49Let us make three tents,
16:51one for you,

16:52and one for Elijah.
16:54Because he was not certain what to say,
16:57and they were in great fear.

17:29questioning amongst themselves,
17:31what coming back from the dead might mean.
17:36They put a question to him,
17:37saying,
17:38Why do the scribes say that Elijah has to come first?
17:41He said to them,
17:43Truly,
17:43Elijah does come first,
17:45and puts all things in order.
17:48And how is it said in the writings,
17:50that the Son of Man will go through much sorrow,
17:52and be made as nothing?
17:55I say to you,
17:56Elijah has already come,
17:57and they have done to him
17:59whatever they were pleased to do,
18:01even as the writings say about him.
18:06When they came to the other disciples,
18:08they saw a great mass of people about them,
18:10and the scribes questioning them.
18:13Straight away,
18:14all the people,
18:15when they saw him,
18:15were full of wonder,
18:16and running abet,
18:17giving him worship.
18:19Jesus asked them,
18:21What were you questioning about?
18:23And one of the numbers said to him,
18:25Master,
18:26I came to you with my son,
18:27who has in him a spirit,
18:29which takes away his power of talking.
18:33Wherever it takes him,
18:34it puts him down violently,
18:36streaming at the lips,
18:37and twisting with pain.
18:39His strength goes from him.
18:42I made a request to your disciples
18:44to send it out,
18:45but they were not able.
18:47He said to them in answer,
18:50O generation without faith,
18:52how long will I have to put up with you?
18:54Let him come with me.
18:57And so they took him to him,
18:59and when he saw him,
19:01the spirit in him straight away became violent,
19:03and threw him down on the ground,
19:05rolling around and streaming at the lips.
19:10Jesus questioned the father,
19:11saying,
19:12How long has he been like this?
19:14He said,
19:16From a child.
19:17Frequently,
19:18it has sent him into the fire
19:20and into the water for his destruction.
19:22But if you are able to do anything,
19:25have pity on us and help us.
19:28Jesus said to him,
19:30If you are able,
19:32all things are possible to him who has faith.
19:35And straight away the father of the child
19:37gave a cry,
19:38saying,
19:38I have faith.
19:39Make my feeble faith stronger.
19:43When Jesus saw that the people came running together,
19:46he gave orders to the unclean spirit,
19:48saying,
19:48You, spirit,
19:49who are the cause of his loss of voice and hearing,
19:52I say to you,
19:53come out of him,
19:54and never go into him again.
19:58And after crying out
19:59and shaking him violently,
20:01it came out,
20:02and the child became like one dead.
20:05So most of them said,
20:07He is dead.
20:09But Jesus took him by the hand,
20:12lifted him up,
20:13and he stood.
20:14And when he had gone into the house,
20:16his disciples said to him privately,
20:20Why were we unable to send it out?
20:24He said to them,
20:25Nothing will make this sort come out,
