00:08Hi friends! Today we're going to crochet this cute little foxy scarf. This scarf is almost
00:15completely no sew. You really only need to sew the ears onto the head. And I do use a yarn
00:22needle for
00:22just closing up the opening of the tail and for weaving in some ends. A very low sew project and
00:31you're going to find it really warm and snugly for the winter. You can remove the tail from the
00:39loop here to have the wolf or the fox hang over your shoulders like so. Or if you want it
00:47to be
00:47extra cozy and snug, you can pull the tail in through the straps and wear it like that.
00:55You can use different yarn colors as you can see to create different types of foxes.
01:01I've got an arctic fox or I guess a wolf here in blue for light blue for the main body
01:08and darker
01:10blue for the ears. And here's my classic fox with red body and black ears. Let's go ahead
01:19and look over the materials for this project and we will get started.
01:33For the materials, you're going to need some super bulky weight Chanel velvet yarn.
01:39It gives a really plush look when you finish and I'm using here Hobby's Honey Bunny yarn.
01:45I also am using a 9mm hook and a 6mm hook for this project.
01:51The 6mm is for the head and the ears and the 9mm is for the body and the tail.
02:00A yarn needle will also be needed to simply sew on the ears and for sewing up like the
02:07opening of the tail and little things like weaving in the ends.
02:13For the fox, I'm using 16mm plastic safety arms. You can use bigger or smaller ones as you'd like.
02:22And that's that. No need for stuffing for this project.
02:33For the ear, you're going to use a 6mm crochet hook and you'll be using both black and white yarns.
02:42To begin, we're going to start with the dark yarn. I'm going to be in round one with three chains.
02:49So here's a slip knot to begin my chain and then one, two, three chains.
02:56Now we're going to work in the third chain from the hook, meaning the very first chain you made.
03:03Insert six double crochets into that third chain.
03:06So here is one double crochet, two, three, four, five, and six.
03:30And at the end, you are going to join with a slip stitch to the very first double crochet you
03:36made.
03:39And I'm going to flip my piece inside out so that the right side faces out.
03:47Now for round two, we're going to continue in this darker color for now,
03:51and we're going to go into the inner ear color soon. So keep that white yarn handy.
03:57We're going to start with two chains. Insert a double crochet in the first stitch,
04:05like so. By the way, the two chains here, the starting chains, don't count as stitches.
04:12So they're not going to be part of the end of stitch count.
04:16In the next stitch, you're going to insert a double crochet increase,
04:20meaning two double crochets in the same stitch, like so. Then you're going to do one more double crochet,
04:32except we're going to pull through with a white yarn here because we're going to change to white
04:36for the next stitch. All right. And in the next stitch, you're going to use white to make a double
04:50crochet increase.
04:51So here I'm going to make two double crochets in the same stitch.
05:00And that's it for the white. So we're going to pull through with the black yarn again.
05:06In the next stitch, we're going to make a double crochet,
05:11like so, and then a double crochet increase.
05:22Now let's join our round with a slip stitch to the very first stitch.
05:32And we're going to work around again. By the way, you can notice that the color change allows for that
05:39little bit of white to show in the middle of our inner ear.
05:43Now for the last round of the ears, round three, we're going to start with two chains.
05:49Then do two double crochets, one and two.
05:57We're going to increase in the next stitch.
06:02So here in the next one, I'm going to put two double crochets in the same stitch.
06:11And then we're going to do a double crochet in the next stitch.
06:17Finish off with white because we are going to change colors.
06:23And with white, we're going to make one double crochet and then a double crochet increase.
06:29So in that first stitch, just a double crochet.
06:33In the next stitch, a double crochet increase.
06:42And again, last one. So I'm finishing off with black.
06:47And now you're going to double crochet two times.
06:52One and two. And increase at the very end.
06:59Oops.
07:02So I'm inserting two single, two double crochets in this last stitch.
07:08And we're going to join with a slip stitch to the first stitch.
07:14Now that you have that complete, you'll have a triangular ear take shape like so.
07:21You can slip off your yarn, making sure to slip off a longer tail for the black because you will
07:29use it
07:30to sew the ear to the body.
07:36And here we are.
07:44And you are going to want to make two ears
07:46ears for your fox.
