00:01well it's time for the pirelli british sport bike race to get underway it's the second race of the
00:08weekend and we are in for yet another thriller here at thruxton it has been some pretty decent
00:15racing to say the least and alfie davidson leads the championships from asher durham by 23 points
00:20harley mccabe is in third hasn't been going that well lately can he find the speed cam dawson in
00:25fourth aiden davey in fifth as we look down the order some good rides are happening the latter
00:31part of the season with carl harris going well as well as a couple of others in there let's see
00:38how
00:38it's going to play out today this is how they line up then mckay on pole asher durham off the
00:43back of
00:44the victory in race one on two smart in three aiden davey alfie davidson your championship leader in
00:49five goodman in six carl harris heads up row three let's see what he could do after the podium
00:54performance in race one cooper and then harley mccabe in nine zach west and edmund best and cam
01:00dawson and then uh it's a finn smart sir garwith and atkinson danny it is all to play for here
01:08we
01:08have a full field 40 riders in this one as if we as if we could look for more chaos
01:14and carnage
01:15and quality racing and exactly that ed and you know i have said i think in every race this weekend
01:21how
01:21exciting i am at the start of a race and it is so true that the amount of um chaos
01:26carnage and
01:27you know bar bashing has been in these races has been phenomenal and you know this this class in
01:32particular 40 strong riders sullivan mounsey going off the back it's going to be an epic race and it's
01:37a massively important one you know asher durham needs to start taking more points out of alfie
01:42davidson which he did yesterday so yeah they all know what they got to do see who's got it there's
01:4735 races including this one left of the 2026 season it's time to really put your money where
01:53your mouth is as the 40 strong start field line up and get ready for the lights we are in
01:59thruxton
01:59for race two for the pirelli british sport bike championship the lights are on and they're
02:05underway and it looks good from second position asher durham going well from second and it looks like
02:12harrison mckay from pole into second position alfie davidson going well in fourth position as well
02:18as we filter through these early turns just trying to find the little bit of space where there isn't
02:24any through the start of this oh there you go oh we've got a pile up we've got a bit
02:31of a pile up
02:32here yeah some not happy riders but it happens 40 riders into one chicane is very difficult and
02:39yeah i saw at the front um lewis smart straight into second place richard cooper was also trying
02:44to make some moves pretty early on davidson said off air that he just wants to get to the front
02:50he
02:50said because being in that battle from like sixth onwards is just chaotic and he wants to try and be
02:55at the front and it's a little bit easier when you're there so this front four here are going to
02:59try
02:59and break away super quickly well after that crash there is a safety car on the first of the 14
03:07laps so
03:07it's time to cool your jets as we have a couple of riders down and i'm sure we'll get a
03:14chance to
03:15have a look at that but bikes are still strewn across the racetrack that's a shame not how these
03:22riders have been patiently waiting to get their second race this weekend yeah sullivan mounsey
03:27up to 22nd that's a sim series 56 bike of ed best i believe that's uh that's gone down that
03:33might
03:33actually be his teammate apologies um but yeah it happens you know it happens at the front of the
03:40race anyone charlie atkins charlie atkins sorry the 56 bike there saw kieran kent as well i believe he's
03:46down but yeah sullivan mounsey made some good progress already in that half a lap up to p22
03:53let's have a little look at that crash and see you're going to be looking to the middle of the
03:57camera yeah it looked like it looked like kieran kent may have lost the front going in there it's hard
04:06to define who yeah i don't know it looked like kieran kent may have lost the front but anyway
04:10it's hard to see in that melee as there's so many riders but uh thankfully well obviously one stretch
04:18away will bring you news as and when we get it from those on the ground but uh still waiting
04:25behind the
04:25safety car it's mckay that leads from smart durham davidson harris cooper davey best goodman
04:34and dawson the top 10. yeah that's uh that's kieran kent there that aiden davey the cf moto bike
04:45i can't see me eyesight's going with old age ed yeah and you're counting yeah counting's yeah not
04:52not great in a minute need to work on that one i think we're going to have this lap safety

04:56lights should go off pretty quickly now i think they've cleaned the mess up the marshall's working
05:01fantastically here at fruxton get these uh bikes off the track and now it's just a case of trying
05:08to keep some heat in the tires you know calm yourself down have a little think about what you're
05:14going to try and do as the leader of this you obviously have control of the uh of everyone
05:21behind you and you that no one can overtake you until the start finish line so you can go over
05:27to start finish line at five mile an hour back everyone up and go no one can pass you till
05:32the
05:32finish line so it's always interesting to see what people are going to do what tactics they like to
05:38opt with we've seen people back people up we've seen people just start going quickly to try and
05:45get away so what would you do ed i'd be just get my head down straight down keep the tires
05:53warm yeah i
05:53mean they're going to get warm and then get going because uh it is going to be you just know
05:58that
05:58there's so much going on behind you just absolutely do not want to be as you heard as you said
06:02already
06:02for the alfie davidson mentioned that the minute you're in any part of a pack you're just there's
06:08people all around you all the time you've got to keep your wits about you've dropped position for 28
06:12yeah i think he might have overtook under the safety car let's go racing in comes the safety car
06:18is mckay going to push on is he going to back him up safety car is going to come through
06:23the chicane
06:24and he's going to go off to their his right hand side our left hand side there and the race
06:29will
06:29begin let's go we're back underway here then after a couple of laps under safety car after the early
06:35crash but it is mckay smart durham harris davidson that's your top five at the moment as we start
06:42lap four of 14 see how they're getting on straight to the front it's a move by smart
06:50wants to get in amongst it at the front
06:54yeah he's riding the wave of confidence at the minute is lewis smart you know he started the year
06:59uh a little bit better than last year but he just seems to have found that massive stride in confidence
07:05and um you know we try and catch up with him every sort every round and just to see how
07:08he's doing and
07:10he said he's had some issues with some engines previously but you know he's doing a fantastic
07:14job here so far he's into the lead which will be good i don't think he's led many laps this
07:18year so
07:19um yeah it's always a strange feeling when you're when you're leading and there's no one in front
07:23especially on a track like this where you know that the heat's going to come at you as you come
07:27down
07:27the back straight towards the infamous club chicane and see what everybody's got as we see davidson
07:35there in fourth karl harris who's gone well behind him and this is where everything gets a bit dicey
07:39this is where everyone fights for space asher durham then heads to the front karl harris a big move for
07:43about six position fifth position moves into second position everyone late on the brakes davidson slots
07:48up the inside of harris to take second position a slot in behind the race leader honestly i do you
07:56know when you're on the bike like these guys are it's all under control you know everything
08:00seems easyish when you're looking as a spectator and a commentator it is so stressful
08:06the fastest lap of the race is coming from p14 zach shelton there oh look was that david up
08:13inside there i think that's ed best there on the inside of the serious kawasaki but yeah it looks
08:18hectic for us watching but actually it's quite controlled on the bike you know what you're doing
08:22it's uh yes mental look at that louis smart from first place back to eighth place in a matter of
08:27you know three corners this just shows the depth of this class and uh fruxton in a nutshell
08:34leading three and then say david just keep an eye wonder what's happening to uh goodman picked up
08:40the win in race uh second in race one apologies a tenth position at the moment was on some serious
08:46pace was the uh aprilia rider see if he can move his way through the field it's so hard to
08:52do we've heard
08:52it from so many riders across the classes this weekend of how difficult it is to try and make
08:58your way through this field with so many riders attacking you from all angles as davidson looks to
09:02try and move to the inside of karl harris and take the lead of the race i think this is
09:05the first time
09:06he's led as well all weekend as that was mckay running in deep has he got it back on line
09:11he has
09:13but yeah that's the issue you've got here ed is you've got sixth place seventh place eighth place
09:17that can lunge and get themselves straight into podium contention so every lap you have that to
09:21deal with you really need to be first or second you know at the front of this to try and
09:25stay out of
09:26trouble but it's almost impossible because you just have people lunging at you left right and center so
09:31yeah it's a very difficult race it's you know there's a lot of strategy behind it but equally as
09:37soon as the race starts it's um oh he's got strength to the barrier at the chicane i wonder
09:42if he had brake issue but yeah planning a race around here and then how the race finishes
09:47doesn't go to go it never happens well the plan that uh aiden the plan that davidson had coming
09:57into this was he wanted to get to the front and stay out of trouble and he's managed to do
10:00that
10:00lap five and now on to lap six let's see what he's got planned as karl harris comes back at
10:05him
10:06high in confidence after his podium as well in race one
10:13look at how tight everybody is behind this little three swimmer that's leading the way at the moment
10:18yeah we have heard that the aprilias have got a little bit more than the suzuki uh suzuki not
10:24doing a bad job there to get up inside look at aiden davey on that cf moto and look that
10:29group's back
10:29together pretty much i think that's harley mccabe in there great to see him back fighting at the front
10:35it's what he needs to keep his championship on there i think we're gonna get a replay of the ted
10:40wilkinson crash oh yeah he was unlucky there decent speed coming in there as well yeah glad to see him
10:47get up and uh and he's okay
10:54super ted wilkinson there bless him he's uh yeah not a good one for him asher durham to the lead
10:59for
10:59the first time and set the fastest lap of the race at 120 039 as he wants to try and
11:05make it two from two
11:07as he continues to try and chip away at the lead of the championship of alfie davidson 23 points he
11:12trails
11:12with five races to go all important that he chips away keeps clocking off those races and points
11:20that foot off that asher durham does there it's quite scary when you first see him do that because
11:25you think he's falling off the side of the bike but it's just what he likes to do it's just
11:29his
11:29way of riding you know he's uh he's sort of comfort and uh
11:35yeah i mean i used to like all feet on the pegs as much as possible
11:40as many points of contact as always carl harrison to the front now should i'm looking for a sneaky
11:46route up the inside zayden david comes from a long way back and you're right harley mccabe is in some
11:50form as well danny gets that cf motorbike stopped so well he looks like on the entry to the to
11:56the
11:56complex he's carrying too much speed and all of a sudden it gets a massive influx of four-stroke
12:01engine braking which pulling him back there and uh yeah makes it look really easy actually
12:08fastest that for asher durham there is a good battle brewing added riders to the front of this one
12:16six or seven six of them in this leading group i do feel like they're all holding something back a
12:23little bit in their pockets they're not showing their cards too soon just yet ed i feel like they're
12:28holding a little something back and then the last few laps i think we're really going to see him
12:32wind it up and let loose because that's just how it's going to be around here fruxton is how it
12:38happens but yeah goodman making a little bit of progress there he's gone up to p8 now and he was
12:44fighting that battle yesterday but again the difference ed from fighting in 10th place where
12:49you've got people chopping and changing to you know being comfortable out front and you've only got a
12:53few bikes around you you can ride the bike a bit differently a little bit more relaxed and you're
12:57just never getting a free run of things here are you kyle harris there into the lead there's so many
13:01people rooting for kyle harrison you know such a such a genuine um lad and everyone wants him to do
13:09well look at that mccabe to the front mccabe into the lead big move that was from a long way
13:14back
13:14hey davy tried to follow him through and did head best everybody's trying to fire their way through
13:19this the top where are we i think that gaggle is all the way down to 18th place 17th place
13:26beach
13:273.8 seconds over the line that is incredible but harley mccabe we know he's not scared of getting
13:33his elbows out and you know he's been third many occasions this year he's had a couple of rough
13:38races where he's just not felt comfortable i've not spoke to him himself but i know speaking with
13:43the team he just weren't comfortable at brands and oh and he weren't you know quite as comfortable as
13:47he was at the start of the year so hopefully he can get a good finish under his belt here
13:51and really
13:51springboard his confidence back to where we know it would was and should be yeah well in the first six
13:56rounds he was third in all of them and so it's great to see him back at it and obviously
14:00back with a bit
14:01of a spring in his step and he's showing us why he's done so well message from race control long
14:06lap penalty for 57 the course can't wilson he's down in 22nd place look at this here we go
14:20this is building and bubbling up into it's going to be a chaotic last few laps just no space even
14:27with
14:28and they're all breaking in such different places which lewis smart around the outside is he going
14:33to get settled back here we've got one down i think that's goodman
14:39that is goodman yeah good eyes there danny nothing wrong with your eyes not sure about you counting
14:43no what am i hearing that's the fiber tech by mlav aprilia that's just gone down shame such a good
14:49weekend let's see what happens there he comes oh yeah i think lewis smart just come back into the
14:55racing line nothing lewis could do really he was just trying to filter back into the line and
14:58goodman was there so it's what you see there a lot you know we saw in the super bikes a
15:02couple of times
15:02so it happens that does make it an easier pill to swallow for goodman highs of race one in second
15:10and the lows of crashing out in race two we are on lap 10 of 14 coming towards the business
15:17end of this
15:17one carl harris leading the way from aiden davey ed best uh davidson mccabe smart as well in there
15:25look how far durham's dropped back it just shows you i think he's down in about eight now
15:29it just shows you you know positioning here is everything and uh the different lines coming
15:35coming through church as well it's not even all the different lines coming into club it's
15:39just such a brilliant race track and we know that davidson himself is saying that he wants to stay at
15:44the front and try and you know attack is the best form of defense around here but look at this
15:48close
15:49your eyes everyone best coming from a long way back there's just so little room to filter your way
15:55through another another one got down the war of attrition through club in the sport bike
16:06oh is that that's not kyle harris
16:13down as well
16:16lead back getting smaller and smaller due to riders dropping out
16:20lap 11 of 14. i like what davidson's doing yeah sorry ed i like what davidson's doing he's just
16:27trying to stay out of trouble he's you know he's got a nice lead in the championship with 23 points
16:31but
16:3123 points isn't a lot isn't a lot and uh you know he can't afford for durham to be taking
16:36chunks of
16:37points out of him because you know as we've seen here he might go across the line in first he
16:40could
16:40go across the line in 12th or you know or even like 10th and it's like uh he can't afford
16:46that he
16:46needs to try and be at the front and take some more points out of asha well he'll know he'll
16:50be trying
16:50to do exactly that out of front eight and david not been on the podium so far this season he's
16:56been
16:56uh fourth a couple of times see if his fortunes can turn around it's lewis smart trying to get in
17:03amongst this one as well karl harris towards the inside karl harris get a victory
17:10best just carries so much speed doesn't he into into club he's so fast oh he's up the inside of
17:16lewis smart he's cut it back and smart's really lost out there bouncing across the curbs and that'll
17:23do it before you lose all the momentum as you come across the start finish and you're running out of
17:27laps now lap 12 of 14 look at this he goes up the inside curb just drops onto the green
17:33the bike
17:33gets unsettled oh wow great great skill that is to hold that that would have felt 100 times worse
17:42than what we're seeing there well deep breaths needed deep breaths needed lap 12 of 14 and karl harris
17:52in front of davidson aiden davey as well best there and asha durham on the heels as well karl harris
17:58looking so comfortable isn't he took so he's done so much this year you know he's took massive
18:04improvement forward and yeah he's riding phenomenally you know the crash he had alton park is something
18:11you have to have you have to get the scars to learn you know i mean you have to you
18:15have to crash to
18:16learn where the limit is and um yeah really impressed well you'll feel like he's done his graft and he's
18:22ready to settle back into that winning feeling not uh one since superteens in 2024 watch the fifth bike
18:29in your picture here guys the green kalsaki of ed best watch out late he is look he's going to
18:33appear
18:33here so late at the breaks there full of confidence there
18:39smart desperate to get alongside him just got beaten up last time and thought better of it as he
18:44didn't want to go across that rumble in the green again but started the penultimate it's davy from
18:49davidson yeah the problem is there you run that speed in you get around the outside and you just
18:55compromise too much by having to either you know you can't slot in or you go across the chicane you
19:00lose too much time sometimes it's better off yielding that you know that bit of track position
19:04backing up and then getting the good drive out and making a way into the complex to pass first time
19:10we've seen anybody dip into the 19s 119.9 race control long lap penalty
19:16louis smart yeah for that course cut tough that's a tough one as well as
19:21oh it's going for him yeah aiden davey then going quickly there's your championship leader davidson and
19:26there is the championship contender the closest rival hot on his heels carl harris in the mix there
19:31as well who is smart in the picture but he's got the equivalent of a long lap penalty
19:37so i feel like he's uh got something to do then mccabe cooper dawson shelton beach
19:44he just has to win by two seconds just turn it on here we go six six across
19:55oh this ain't gonna work well five bikes into one
20:01lewis smarts heard you smarts heard you up into second position as we start the last lap of the
20:06race davidson championship leader lewis smile asha durham that's your one two three at the moment but
20:13it is not gonna almost certainly not gonna finish that way no you've got harris back there in fourth
20:18and look there he goes smart up inside he's gonna go for his two second lead now he probably won't
20:23know he's probably not being shown maybe the next lap round oh his final lap no he won't know
20:27that's gonna be brutal when he looks up at the end if he crosses the line in first but here
20:32we go
20:32look at this what have we got still 10 12 riders line astern as they come around thruxton for the
20:39last time harris passing because he's desperate to get back on that podium harris is in a good position
20:46here he's fourth in your picture aiden davies on the outside of him there and he's in a really good
20:51position but look at lewis smart if he wins this he's going to be gutted with the penalty
21:00well what's gonna happen here danny as they come around it's so unfortunate for lewis marks he's found
21:05himself with a bit of fresh air davidson alongside durham durham tries to move across to protect that
21:10inside line oh mccabe going full to the outside how's this we're going to play as harris is coming
21:14from a long way back well asher durham looks like he might get it done but carl harris is carrying
21:21some speed as he comes through the exit of club and it's going to be asher durham to make it
21:25two
21:26from two carl harris pushing hard to get back on the podium as well it looks like davidson might have
21:30snuck third position there oh wow yeah keep breathing yeah that was unreal that was unreal
21:38and it just shows you smart oh harris has been up yeah harris was second first durham harris second
21:45davidson third fantastic result there and uh really unfortunate for um the 32 level lewis smart because
21:53he rode fantastic that whole race brutal as well two two second penalty forget
22:00hunted a bit onto the uh onto the green some tough penalties but that's how it works out but asher
22:06durham won't mind one little bit he was in a roaring battle in race one he's been in a battle
22:11here in race two and he's walking away double winner in thruxton yeah that's good you know he took some
22:17more points out of davidson davidson really good recovery from his crashing fp2 to uh you know bounce
22:23back on the podium in race two was a really good recovery and that's what you need is damage
22:27limitations here at froxton and him you know alfie actually said that himself when we saw him out of
22:33the uh out of the band of haddock so he'll be chuffed to bits with that sneaking a little podium
22:37some champagne yeah really well done team yeah it does his championship no end of good especially
22:42with carl harris sneaking in front of davidson as well so asher durham certainly on the march the man
22:47on the move in the championship how many points did you take out of your head go and do the
22:50math
22:50don't you go and give me that nine points closer he'll be so i make that 30 he'll be 14
22:56points i
22:57think we'll see if my school's better than your school when we get there i was going to say that
23:0230 points difference because mine's been terrible the whole time it's brilliant racing though yet
23:07again what thruxton has played host of some absolutely fantastic racing across the categories
23:12and the pirelli british sport bike riders have put on another fantastic show here some really
23:18quality racing we keep we can't talk hardly enough about how much quality there is uh through this
23:24championship yeah such good racing you know and it's so good to see durham you know full of beans
23:30really confident after um you know had a bit of a slow start to the year with some personal issues
23:36you know personal health health issues so to see him come back swinging and really fighting for that
23:41championships amazing i think we're going to be in for a real belter for the last uh three rounds of
23:45the championship and i think you know this weekend was important you know as every weekend is this
23:51weekend was important in the way of the championship because he's keeping it alive by taking them points
23:55away from davidson just keeps chipping away and it just makes davidson have to answer extra questions
24:02internally and collectively but the fantastic fantastic results apologies for that as you can understand
24:09some exuberant energy there in park ferme i think he's excited
24:27love the little debrief between riders and teams there
24:32just see just that raw emotion brilliant excitement you your adrenaline's pumping
24:37you know you've just been battling two for now with all these guys around you
24:42and especially the fact that um the top five was covered by zero
24:46two nine eight of a second you know fantastic yeah really enjoyed that
24:56well here is the results of that one what a brilliant race asha dara makes it two from two
25:02on the power side suzuki racing team bike carl harris of the rocket rookie second podium of the weekend
25:07alfie davison championship leader on the podium yet again in the april in competition racing
25:11aiden davey and rich cooper teammates going well on the moto 12 cf moto bike zach shelter good to see
25:17him riding well as well as marley mckay making some good important changes after a difficult couple
25:22of rounds mckay cam dawson and callum beach rounding out the top 10
25:29lennon doherty zach weston and finn smartweed you can see that look at under two seconds into 13th
25:36position lewis smart on the unlucky side of a penalty wrote really really well finds himself
25:41in 14th three seconds back with that two second penalty and james bull picking up 15th position
25:47on the rf89 red 2 race and those results mean that alfie davison leads the championship by just 18
25:55points now in front of asha durham who keeps clawing those points back harley mccabe an important return
26:02to some decent form for mccabe still in third position 57 points back aiden davey in fourth cam dawson
26:07in fifth mckay shelton carl harris with great weekend finds himself moving up the order as well
26:13brilliant stuff excellent racing over this weekend danny yeah unbelievable racing you know from the
26:20every single class we've watched has been absolutely turbulent and um yeah you've not known where to look
26:27who's gonna win
26:35brilliant stuff here at thruxton what an enthralling couple of days worth of racing alfie davidson uh the
26:43championship leader in third position carl harris belter of a weekend second for asha durham the man
26:47that has been on the best form of the weekend double victor here in thruxton
26:57here at thruxton what a weekend it's been for asha durham victorious in the sport bike race
27:03here in the sunshine this afternoon let's get his thoughts now he's talking to steve
27:12asha two incredible races this weekend at thruxton that are hugely significant in the championship as
27:17well how does it feel to be a double winner here yeah well it's my first double uh since 2019
27:22actually
27:23here with uh john creswell um so yeah no happy i had to use my head a little bit and
27:28um yeah once
27:30we i don't want to drop back to seventh or eighth i thought oh no here we go it wasn't
27:34going to be like
27:34yesterday a lot of people just being real scrappy real aggressive so a couple uh dodged a couple
27:39incidents in the middle of it and then that four four laps to go i knew right this is my
27:43charge to the
27:44front and i played it perfect with lewis's slipstream got a good run on him and that was
27:47enough for me to seal the deal so happy great job well done thank you just like to say thank

28:06great to see asha durham uh finally fulfilling the potential that he's shown in this paddock for
28:11quite a long time now in the difference i'll tell you what it's a part of this paddock he's been
28:14here a long time we like him and it's good to see him do what we know he can do
28:19um let's see if he
28:20can follow in the footsteps of this man ryan vickers who made the jump from uh super stock 600 straight
28:25into super bikes a few years ago james it's been an interesting career he's shown brightly on occasions
28:30he's gone to the world stage he's come back and what we're seeing now this year is a really
28:35mature polished version of ryan vickers yeah very much so he's got in as well on the honda which has
28:40been
28:40struggling not just here struggling in the world championship and we saw him early doors really
28:46fighting a motorcycle you know motorcycle that had a lot of chatter and had some fundamental problems
28:51with it and you know through the whole work ryan's done his speed his feedback the work honda's done
28:57they've turned it around to a double race winner if you looked at that three or four rounds ago you
29:01just said no way you know he's listening so i've got to be careful what i say but what's impressed
29:06me is
29:07we've known he's had a lot of skill he was thrown into the deep end a few years ago straight
29:10from
29:10stock six massive jump in his super bike did a bit of damage fair bit of flipping broken motorbikes
29:15around the garage however he's learned his trade but what's impressed me is he's actually grown up a lot
29:20this year things are going desperately for the team and for him none of us wanted it he didn't want
29:25it
29:25they worked hard but he never complained he's got on with his job even when we could see from the
29:30outside it wasn't working so well that's what's impressed me fair assessment that ryan yeah it is
29:36thanks there's not much i can really touch on on that um yeah listen you called the uh coat hanger
29:42thing in so i know yeah it was an old uh old joke from mick ground i know with him
29:47the other night

30:13lot of riders that could have put that performance together on that package especially the moves that
30:17you made into that final turn just talk us through uh race one and race two which is where you
30:22made it
30:22yeah you know it's there's been a few things building up to this and and it started back at
30:28the workshop you know i went to the workshop um in the week last week and speaking to the crew
30:32chief
30:32about what we was going to do and and i said i said to him i need the fast engine
30:36in you know and it
30:37wasn't going to go in and because fruxton previously you want to save the tire and i said to him
30:42no
30:42i said i need the fastest engine you can give me because that's where it's going to be won and
30:48lost
30:48on the last lap and the drag to the last chicane and in my opinion i've won both races because
30:52of
30:53that you know what was did you did that mean you had to be more careful and ride a little
30:58bit more
30:58exactly yeah with that engine because it would have won the time yeah and i and throughout this
31:02whole weekend i've been asking him put more power in because we're a slight disadvantage off of the
31:08corner i've had to put power in and then just manage it and i've suffered on edge grip if i'm
31:14honest
31:14and you've been watching probably i've been running such tight lines standing the bike up
31:19so much and just conservative of meters of track i'm using and also tire life you know and and also
31:27my theory was is if i'm tight then they've got to go around me and if they're going around me
31:33they've
31:33got more lean angle they've got more throttle and they're going to destroy the tire more so that was
31:38my theory is it true you went back to swinging on with a bit more flex here this yeah and
31:43we've
31:43we've floated between two different swinging arms this year one's a lot stiffer one's um a lot
31:47softer and they're the two arms tommy had the one that we didn't run this is this year what he
31:52finished with um when he was fighting for the championship and then the other arm what we've
31:57gone to this weekend is the one they had previous to that so it's an old old swinging arm because
32:01it
32:01certainly looks sorry it certainly looks like this bike now compared to how we saw it in the early
32:05rounds it looks like a different machine yeah 100 but you know most of that to be honest in my
32:10opinions come from electronics yeah uh we they were trying some new strategies this year and
32:14we got a lot of issues from it and it turned out that going back to actually what they had
32:18been
32:19running in previous years was the best way um and actually not changing anything else on the bike so
32:23we've uh we've just we've just gone back to more of a simple way of doing things and now we've
32:29been
32:30able to fine-tune the bike to suit exactly how i ride i've been able to understand exactly how the
32:34bike likes to be ridden and and this race just racecraft more importantly will it work at cadwell
32:40i think so i'll make it work there come on we'll make it work we'll grab it by the horns
32:45we'll do
32:46something um caddles one of my favorite um really really excited to be going there and um yeah i hope
32:52there's gonna be a good turnout of crowd there always is and uh let's see if we can uh be
32:57fighting
32:58at the front brown we'll look forward to that enjoy the celebrations in the meantime i'm sure you'll be a

33:11got one more race to show you uh here's what happened a little bit earlier on today in the junior
33:16sport bike race well the first race for the junior sport bike in the second day of racing as we
33:25have
33:26uh decent old field 22 riders and this is how the championship stands after 13 races of 16 in the
33:352026 calendar marley mckenzie 36 points in front of jolliffe who is four points points in front of
33:41luke hopkins lake campaign who won yesterday closed the gap on the leaders in the championship
33:46race now 46 points behind a bit of a drop then to lewis mullen and the rest of the competitors
33:55and this then is how they line up and it is a championship leader marley mckenzie on pole luke
34:02hopkins who went very well yesterday from the back of the grid uh is in second and then arnie car
34:09new
34:09boy into the championship for this weekend joeliff lake and pain yesterday's winner and chloe jones
34:16fantastic performance from chloe jones yesterday sees her on the outside of road two lewis mullen
34:20freddie oakley mason johnson on road three isaac mark luke wilkinson conan shuttlewood on row number
34:26four danny bucken is going to be another cracker of a race we've been treated to some excellent racing
34:31across the weekend and this bodes well as well yeah and if you haven't seen race one yeah i don't
34:36want to ruin it too much for you but i will just say that a group of eight got away
34:39and i expect exactly
34:40the same today chloe jones was on the back of that group um this guy here on screen was right
34:46amongst
34:46it as well made a small mistake yesterday he done a lap that got him on pole for this race
34:50so he's got
34:51pace um but it's going to be a fight it's going to be it was a fight yesterday and we
34:56i can almost
34:57guarantee you it's going to be a scrap round here well as the 22 make their way into position what
35:04was
35:04the top eight separated by less than two yeah second a second over the line a second over line
35:15race two in thruxton then for the 1p junior sport bike championship is about to get underway the lights
35:22are on marley mckenzie championship leader on pole and a decent start all around lake and pain looks like
35:29he's moving up well from row two but it is marley mckenzie that looks like he's out in front ben
35:36jollip
35:37just slotting in behind him as well plenty of good starts as they look to get around neatly on lap
35:42one of
35:43ten yeah lake and pain uh only just 15 years old never been here before until this weekend and snuck
35:49a win in so yeah we spoke to him off air earlier and he was uh his him and his
35:54family were really
35:54chuffed to bits for that and it was a fantastic ride and uh yeah i think we can expect a
35:59little
35:59bit more again from him you know he's sort of grown this season so far and uh continues to do
36:04so but
36:05marley mckenzie out front you know he wants to do exactly what he's done all year round ed and that
36:10is
36:10leaving the front from lap one i don't think he's going to have it all his own way though here
36:14because
36:15obviously fruxton is notorious for slipstream and he's been almost unbeatable really has marley mckenzie
36:23of the 13 previous races he's won nine times arnie car up the inside there at church and look at
36:30the
36:30slipstream we're going to get seven abreast again as we did yesterday into club who is going to be
36:37bravest on the break the yamahas look out well tucked in that mother marley mckenzie was there
36:42and they're all together all bunched up and i'm quite impressed with the yamahas this weekend
36:46lewis malin gets sat up there he's caught his handlebar and his boot on the outside there that was a
36:51little bit
36:51of a uh yeah i think luca hopkins just went through and clipped him which you know it does happen
36:57around
36:57here start off lap two jolliff all over the back of marley mckenzie arnie car try well aren't car started
37:05well in race one but just didn't quite uh have that ability to really live with that pace throughout
37:11towards the end of the race we've made some adjustments it's first time racing in this category
37:15this uh this round so expect him to have made some big changes uh for the second race today
37:21yeah and you're always learning as well you know he'll be amongst these guys and girls and he'll be
37:24picking their good parts and their bad parts luca hopkins up inside there so fast through uh through
37:32that part of the track that you yeah you don't want to go inside there really well it didn't happen
37:36but it didn't work out it is not not what you want a half try you know and a half
37:40pass is it no nice to
37:41luca hopkins starting back on the front right now he's had some pace all weekend and he had a little
37:45bit of a mishap i think getting the bike started yesterday was the issue wouldn't start he had to
37:49get wheeled off yeah and then it just came up to life yeah and then had to start from the
37:53back of
37:53the grid which is probably the best track to do so but look at this slipstream full effect
37:59who's going to be the beneficiary of this oh jolliff moves towards the inside here at club
38:05car not giving up though there's mullen and look around the outside lake and pain up the inside
38:10lovely move very well calculated second time mullen finding himself taking evasive action and
38:17compromises that exit speed onto the start finish straight car setting some quick pace early on
38:24as he is out in front jolliff slots in behind him then lake and pain yesterday's winner right on the
38:29heels of the man's second in the championship he's on the heels he's going around the outside
38:37brave moves lake and pain high in confidence after a fantastic release result yesterday and he's used
38:42that to full effect to get after it again today yeah i think it was his dad's lines that he
38:46was
38:46telling us about his dad said he when they were looking walking the track looking at the lines
38:49and him and lake are having some disagreements on the lines he should be in but look at this
38:54breaking into the hair pit into the chicane lets the break off around the outside almost making it a
38:59two for one deal not quite tight here but sometimes you can compromise your exit speed through the
39:04complex there but not done so look he's in second place yeah great riding and he's only young when i
39:10say that you know he's 14 years old only just 15 years old lots of learnings do cannot go and
39:16ride
39:16these tracks on track days because of his age but he's allowed to race here so yeah he's uh done
39:21done lots of learning this week there'll be lots of learning done this weekend
39:26uh mckenzie with some real pace down the back straight and hopkins trying to
39:29bully his way past as well it's a tough old move into club
39:36jolliff on the receiving end of uh of the passes there finds themselves dropping back but
39:41only carl doing some good work out in front trying to keep his nose clean
39:45as uh it is marley mckenzie that sets the best lap of the race 23.5 uh the new record
39:51for today
39:52yeah only carl doing a good job out front and as we said earlier it's all learning you know like
39:57he'll just be out there he's learning from everyone around him then gone back looked at the data on the
40:01bike looked at what areas they can improve you get a race behind these guys and you go ah i
40:07can't break
40:07as late here because the front's too soft or you know the front's too stiff and i'm having to break
40:11too early so
40:12there's lots of learning done and the bikes are always being played about with in the way of set
40:16up all the way through the weekend until you know after this race obviously they'll go home and get
40:20the settings in for the next round but um yeah you're always learning
40:25i'll certainly using that to its fullest at the moment arnie car out in front lake and pain
40:31trying his best to get uh up and establish himself in that run for
40:37another win here to date but so many tough battles so many tough passes uh that are going on through
40:43here good old tight stuff as they come around towards club again
40:50it's oh it's just you can't you don't even know where to look daddy it's everywhere
40:55oh you all can't fit through there luca wilkinson coming from a different postcode into a club
41:03finding himself up and uh into third position jolliff trying to go up he's up into second now up the
41:08inside
41:11correction ed sorry i have a correction for us both arnie car was at old park so this is second
41:17race of the
41:171p junior sport bike championship but still doing a fantastic job well arnie car won't know what's hit him
41:23leading coming into club and all of a sudden finds himself down in seventh but equally next lap he's
41:29seventh he'll probably be leading coming out of there that is the way of froxton and when you
41:33when you're a racer here and you're trying to plan your sort of race uh froxton is one that you
41:38spend
41:38a lot of time trying to think about where you need to be in track position and an ideal position
41:42and
41:42if i'm in this position what do i do but we was me and luke mossy was talking about it
41:46yesterday he's
41:46just won the super stock thousand race and um he just says as soon as the lights go out your
41:51plan goes
41:52out the window anyway so it's a very difficult track and you have to be in the right place at
41:56the right time to win around here mackenzie back in front of lake campaign luca wilkinson on some pace
42:01at the moment finds himself in third jolliff mullen then hopkins then carr again nothing to separate
42:08them as luca wilkinson is on a rocket ship down that back straight unbelievable pace
42:15making pain had his legs open again there's if he weren't too worried about being you know making
42:20a move so lewis mullen look come from the back of the grid and he's there now he's you know
42:26elbows are
42:26sharpened hammers dropped he's there well you've also got behind car you've got johnson and teneer that
42:33are also going pretty quickly as well and about to join the battle they're making this a nine rider battle
42:41for
42:42podiums yeah chloe jones ain't out of this she's temp look at that that is lake and pain's signature move
42:52oh my gosh right settle down settle down they don't know how to settle down it's not in their playbook
43:00doesn't exist on the 1p junior sport bikes i think this is going to be a group of 10 soon

43:07and uh okay shuttlewood's coming up there as well pinar as well ninth place yeah all of a sudden
43:17there is going to get even more dicey yeah we've got a fight we're going to have 10 of them

43:25luckily we've got a bit of space down the streets but there isn't too much space around club and that's
43:30where they're heading now as mckenzie tries to get alongside it but look at wilkinson riding around
43:35the outside of everybody malin trying to follow him through see if he can squeeze up the inside of
43:41the championship leader oh no that's jollip jollip going from about fifth to first unbelievable move
43:47from ben jollip oh i don't want to watch these last laps these these are taking chunks out of each
43:53other
43:54and what a race i guarantee they're all smiling under their crash helmets because these are the
43:59most fun races when it's bar bashing elbow to elbow but wilkinson's gone from leading and breaking super
44:06late and really taking the most and making the most of his of his stature there being shorter than the
44:11others but he just can't break as late the bigger guys can break a lot later and harder and that's
44:16where lake and pain's able to make their moves and jollip as well now some move from jollip let's see
44:24now that he's out in front he's got lake and pain right on his wheel lewis mullen trying to
44:30play the part as well slap seven nearing the end of laps halfway around lap seven or ten
44:36and you know that as this goes on the moves are going to get more extreme as well as we
44:41start to really
44:42focus the mind focus in you've got wilkinson all over the back of uh oh it's grass arnie car on
44:50the
44:50grass down there into into church this track's not widened out no that that is oh yeah lucky the uh
44:56the grass is as dry as the track and it's hard well wilkinson going the other way around
45:03oh here we go hold your breath marley mckenzie tough old move he's going from sixth to second oh
45:09they can't all fit through oh like a pain mistake
45:14goodness me what are we seeing this is an absolute rip roarer wilkinson up the inside three abreast in
45:21the turn there's no space for that oh wow there you don't fit three into one at turn one
45:29mckenzie with a lap record luke hopkins around the outside into into the uh chicane i don't know where we
45:35are on track anymore oh who's going to go for that little dive bomb up at the exit right settle
45:42down
45:42no there is no settle they're just dialing it up every time but out in front lake and pain
45:47got a little bit of a gap they're tripping each other up at the moment like the pain's got to
45:51just get his head down see if there's any way of pulling a gap that he can withstand the pressure
45:58from the likes of ballon and wilkinson joe lifter and that's the issue what these guys are now going
46:03to be doing is these guys in fifth and sixth are going to be seeing lake and pain pull away
46:06and it's
46:07going to make them desperate to use this slipstream to try and go with them because as a rider you
46:12believe you know you can go with them you don't let them get away but look they're back on lake
46:15and
46:15pain again now and the tires will just start to be losing a bit of edge grip now and look
46:19lake and
46:20pain lost a lot of places i wonder if he's got a little issue with that bike
46:23nope luca hopkins looking ominous as he flips towards the inside then back to the outside
46:29anybody's guess at where these attacks are coming from no space up the inside lewis mullen though
46:33finds a bit of room in front of wilkinson mackenzie then oh they can fight across the curb off the
46:39track
46:42that surely takes him out of contention to make it a double as they start the penultimate lap can't
46:47count him out yet but it's going to be a tough old ass to come back now we've got 11
46:50in the fire
46:52for the win unbelievable two laps to go well lewis muller now in front at the moment
46:59rider down there
47:03all right that's you die a cumber man number mac is down
47:08oh that's a bit of contact between hopkins is it and they campaign oh that's where he went down
47:13he's part of that battle yeah he rode into the back of rider ahead
47:17and he just no space there's no space is there danny no space and look at this who's out front
47:23now
47:24championship leader lap record and he's there and look at that little gap they've got but let's see
47:32how this right right look at that great drive from mullen let's see how this closes up now and see
47:37if this
47:38fire again goes to a seven right about because they had that little bit of space there but look
47:42soon as they all get together on the straight they just close up that slipstream is a bugger
47:48coming then into club for the penultimate time jollip looking for a big inside move but is there space
47:54as wilkinson slides his way up the inside mullen tried desperately to hold that line he does just
48:00about hold that line some tough passes and some tough moves round club for the penultimate crossing the
48:05line to start the last lap oh my gosh i don't know where to look i don't know who's going
48:10to win
48:11i don't know who's in what position i don't know who's doing what i don't know what race this is
48:17it's sunday you're in traxton mate this is unreal i can't honestly they are riding
48:23they are right now quality racing look at that inside he's been lining that one up for a while
48:29he's been in a right tussle as hopkins hasn't really been able to sort of establish himself
48:33into a position he manages to get by and then they dive bomb him straight back so what can he
48:37do as he
48:38chases down mullen he's just out in front hopkins returns the favorite high speed part of the track
48:42as well wilkinson there up the inside pain around the outside pain's probably in the best position
48:48right now because he's going to benefit from this slipstream along the back straight so let's see
48:52who's late enough on the brakes who's brave enough on the brakes to take this to the line
48:56i can't see them all there's going to be sun going across the chicane well we're about to find out
49:03hold your breath it's about to get even more spicy at the moment it is wilkinson out in front
49:08as he leads him into club chicane lewis mallon on his heels jollip looking for a big move from about
49:14sixth position trying to make his way all the way through late on the brakes mallon at the inside then
49:21everybody late this is the part where it's going to get tight tight tight it's contacted somehow funneled
49:27their way through but it's lewis mallon that's going to get the victory here race two
49:31in front of uh luca wilkinson it looks like lake of pain has managed to get back onto the podium
49:37a win in the third what a weekend for pain what's a race danny what an absolute cracker oh oh
49:44we've
49:44got a crash out is that kind of shuttlewood yeah i think it is that's uh it's uh rory cree
49:51rory creef there unlucky oh wow what a race race from the front there that was incredible action
49:59the amount of lap changes and position changes sorry position changes each lap were unbelievable
50:07well this is how the results then played out here lewis mallon victorious for the first time this
50:14season in an epic battle here in thruxton luca wilkinson then in second and arnie car elevated into
50:21third position after a long lap equivalent penalty to lake and pain who crossed the line in third
50:26position but happened to take that penalty and finds himself down in tenth jollip second in the
50:31championship take some points back against uh the championship leader with a fourth the championship
50:36leader marley mckenzie in fifth you could have had a winner from anywhere on that one chloe jones a
50:42fantastic race yet again from her 11th position only two and a half seconds behind that race win and the
50:47championship uh still looks very handy if you're a marley mckenzie fan he's out in front by 34 points
50:54from ben jollip on the dunsey heat racing yamaha luca hopkins in third position lacon pain fourth
50:59lewis mallon with that win into fifth position closes the gap on the leaders what a fantastic absolute
51:05brilliant battle and uh it just seems a bit sad that's the last race that is for these guys i
51:11wish
51:11we had another one here this weekend what a cracker well that's it from us here what a weekend we've
51:18had at thruxton and the good news is we only have to wait for a fortnight to do it all

51:56the party in the park is the last round before the showdown for bsp 2026 plenty more top live sport

52:10league baseball and from seven o'clock it's the final night of the european athletics championships
52:14in birmingham featuring swedish superstar armandu plantis in the men's pole vault final a huge weekend
52:21the way it's in a fortnight with both the moto gp in aragon where the title race remains wide open

52:26course bsb at cadwell park with world super bikes returning one week later in magni core so that's
