00:00:13one and only super stock race of the weekend so let's get straight up to the commentary box

00:00:17and join James Hayden and Steve Day yeah thanks very much Matt apologies for the power outage

00:00:27problems there but we are ready to go up in the commentary box ready for the one and only Pirelli

00:00:32national super stock race of the weekend here it looks like it's going to be dry for the rest of

00:00:37the day I say that as I just look over towards Hollywood from our commentary box window there's

00:00:42a few dark clouds there but for this one it's David Allingham who is on pole and leading the

00:00:47championship by three points after his victory at Alton Park there was only one race back at Alton

00:00:52as well so those points reflect the race result that we had there it was Allingham from Mossy

00:00:56from Rollo with Swan and Lati just off the podium coming into this one the one and only race at

00:01:04Donington it is David Allingham on pole as well as he looks to try and increase that championship

00:01:09advantage of 140.1 put him on pole ahead of Lewis Rollo who was on the podium last time out

00:01:15and Luke

00:01:16Mossy row two features Declan Connell Ben Luxton and Emily Lati finish rider with Simon Reid Scott Swan

00:01:24and Matt Truelove on row three Blaise Baker heads row four South African ahead of Richard White and

00:01:35Hopper

00:01:35further down Finn Ascot alongside Mitch Rees on the Malenko by Paget's Motorcycles Honda

00:01:40and Ash Barnes on the Rapid Racing Honda there are 37 riders that have made it onto the grid for

00:01:47this

00:01:47one a 15 lap race coming up there's been a few delays to the proceedings so far today here at

00:01:53Donington

00:01:53Park we had some rain earlier on halting one of the BMW cup races but it looks like we're good

00:01:59to go

00:02:00here alongside me in the competition box for this one is James Hayden David Allingham considering on

00:02:05the form that he showed at Alton Park yeah he's looking really good on that BMW yeah it's confident

00:02:10that's the man we're talking about number 11 so uh second in the championship last year that the uh

00:02:16out of that top five just the champion Mikkelczyk moved on to uh British superbike so it's left the

00:02:22rest and we got a tight uh tight gaggle there it was a wet and mixed conditions for qualify which

00:02:29was yesterday evening here so they've only had a bit of dry track time actually here on Friday so

00:02:33this could be fascinating the grid not necessarily reflecting who has the race rhythm as we're ready

00:02:38to go racing at Donington the SMS Nick Loyal's racing BMW with Allingham leads them away as the

00:02:44lights go out a good start from the second row for Declan Connell number 33 he's going to take the

00:02:49outside line Allingham will have the whole shot though he'll take the lead into turn one and that

00:02:53looks like Luke Mossy with squeezing up the inside in second as well just enough room yeah he did yeah

00:02:59he just got pushed a little bit but uh you can see the other one uh Lewis Rollo he just

00:03:05got dropped

00:03:05back a little bit from second to to fifth Lorty's moved up there into fourth as well

00:03:10they come through the old air pit they're all safe and sound to that first section

00:03:14there's a better charge

00:03:20McLean's Mitrice is the other Malenko by Paget's Honda

00:03:22rider he's about to start over the road's campaign so he's here with us and he's looking

00:03:27pretty fast and very wide from the finascott there number 77.

00:03:31yeah he was definitely in there too hot

00:03:37so on to the back straight we go number 11 it is Allingham that leads them from Mossy with

00:03:41Vellati then now up into third place the sky blue armada cables Honda then it's Detman Connell

00:03:47the Scotsman with Louis Rollo up behind him Ben Luxton as well on the rapid CDH

00:03:55sorry on the white cliff CDH Honda

00:03:58oh Mossy was good on the brakes coming into there

00:04:00the here's a it's a grid that's dominated by Hondas we've got 30 Hondas on the grid

00:04:06five BMWs one Aprilia and one Ticati but it is a BMW that leads out in front at the moment

00:04:14closely followed by that big chain of Hondas

00:04:18so over the line we go two tenths up on Mosse

00:04:21is David Alling up

00:04:22you can see Lewis Rollo just up ahead there of the White Thrift Racing

00:04:28CD8 ride at Ben Luxton

00:04:30he's then got Simon Reid not too far behind

00:04:33there's Ash Barnes likewise Matt Trulove out there on the tag racing Honda

00:04:37yeah it's good from Declan Connell as well isn't it

00:04:40move for the lead there James sorry to interrupt just at the bottom yeah

00:04:43Mossy's gone through there was a door left open there from Allingham into the old airpin

00:04:47and on to P1 then goes Luke Mossy on the Milenko by Padgett's Honda

00:04:52yeah good move we've seen him make that move many times over the years

00:04:56it is a favourite we saw Scott Redding do it yesterday in the superbike race

00:05:01it's really set up and I tell you what it's broken by Lindsay

00:05:04it's early days about 2.15 but it looks a couple of nice little sectors there together

00:05:10just to try and put the pressure on Allingham

00:05:12and it looks like we'll Connell have a little look

00:05:14no no I thought he might have a little look on Larty

00:05:16it's a little bit sideways

00:05:18pulls it back neatly in line

00:05:20last year in the three superstock races it was of course the eventual champion

00:05:24Ilya Mikulchik that took all three victories the year before that

00:05:28Mossy did a double in September believe it or not

00:05:31of the entire 37 rider grid here in superstock

00:05:34Luke Mossy's the only rider on the grid to have won a superstock race

00:05:37here at Donington Park

00:05:39the rest have been featuring on the podium

00:05:41but we've had wins for Davey Todd and Joe Talbot

00:05:44but the rest of the field not stood on the top step in this class here

00:05:49now that top three as well fastest lap

00:05:51129.7 from Luke Mossy

00:05:54lap record is a 128.0 from Mikulchik last year

00:05:58so it is just starting lap three

00:06:02I tell you what Allingham's good through the top of there isn't he

00:06:05coming down to the left of Crainers

00:06:07he's going to have a little look

00:06:08Mossy good on the brakes coming with the old hairpin

00:06:10these two have just put a few bindings on Larty

00:06:14yeah last year Allingham at times was looking a bit stretched wasn't he

00:06:18as he tried to chase down Ilya Mikulchik

00:06:20he looks very cool and calm at the moment and smooth

00:06:22on that BMW in seconds

00:06:24he does both his guys very experienced

00:06:28neat riders as you say

00:06:30super smooth the same in Mossy

00:06:32this is a little bit busier as a rider on the bike

00:06:37to see Declan Connell the rider in fourth as well

00:06:40having a good go here on the Rapid Honda

00:06:41he finished eighth in the championship last year

00:06:43as Allingham then does make his move

00:06:45to take the lead on the approach to Foggy Essas

00:06:48this is good news for those in third and fourth

00:06:53because with Allingham and Mossy

00:06:56trading places

00:06:58keeps them in the mix and in the hunt

00:07:01Lewis Rollo is in fifth place at the moment with Ben Luxton in sixth

00:07:06Scott Swann then in seventh then it's True Love

00:07:09Barg, Simon Reid, Josh Owens

00:07:11he's not had to start to the year he won

00:07:13to these in 11th place

00:07:14if we look there at Declan Connell

00:07:16not had a podium in the golf

00:07:17teary me we've got a rider down here

00:07:19at the Melbourne Loop on the exit of the Melbourne Loop

00:07:22that looks a nasty one

00:07:23it does it's a high side

00:07:24I think that was um was that number 55

00:07:27I think it was might have been Ash Beach

00:07:31so I'm not 100% sure

00:07:33um forced to slap at the race again there for Allingham

00:07:37129.6 so they're getting quicker

00:07:40this is let's have a little look here

00:07:42someone's going to lose the rear

00:07:44oh massive high side

00:07:46and uh someone does well to miss him

00:07:49tank off

00:07:50big high side but you can see he is up on his knees

00:07:53looks you inside and there he is

00:07:58and actually it's the rider Cam Dixon

00:08:00who does super well on his uh

00:08:02Honda just to pull up short and avoid him

00:08:04yeah hopefully Max Simmons is okay

00:08:09could be a bit of fluid down couldn't there

00:08:11where he went down as well

00:08:13but uh hopefully Simmons is okay after that one

00:08:24I just see the riders coming through

00:08:26foggy S's on lap 4 of 50

00:08:29there's the safety car flag

00:08:31always horrible when you're leading

00:08:33seeing the safety car but when you've uh

00:08:35when you're a little bit further back

00:08:37you can just see the uh

00:08:38the flag's waving there limited adhesion flag

00:08:41but um yeah

00:08:43it's just because obviously everyone just

00:08:44concertina's up again

00:08:45it's uh it's almost like a

00:08:47a fresh start

00:08:49so lap 4 of 15

00:08:50you'll see the riders appearing quite shortly

00:08:52that is the safety car

00:08:56probably BMW M2

00:08:59yeah well ahead of the game at the moment

00:09:01and there's Max Simmons you can see

00:09:03in quite a bit of pain there hopefully Max

00:09:04he really got slapped down

00:09:06okay yeah

00:09:07we did see him sort of on his hands and knees

00:09:11moving around

00:09:11these guys all bunched up then

00:09:14and the laps continue to camp down

00:09:15whilst uh the circuits treated there

00:09:17from the fluids

00:09:18yeah just getting some

00:09:20just getting some uh dust on it

00:09:22to hopefully just uh

00:09:24again you can just see that little spot there

00:09:25just by the curb

00:09:26and to the right hand side of your picture

00:09:28but they've got a little bit of time

00:09:30to give a little sweep off

00:09:31as they come into McLean's

00:09:32just as they're catching up

00:09:34with the safety car

00:09:37just the one race here this weekend

00:09:39at Donington for

00:09:39Porelli National Superstock

00:09:40the next outing

00:09:41when we go to not kill

00:09:44they will then go back to the

00:09:45the two race format

00:09:47per weekend

00:09:48so a bit more trap time for them

00:09:50yeah Erlingham not hurry

00:09:52hurrying to close the gap at the moment

00:09:55safety car lights are still on

00:09:56so it looks like we're going to be doing

00:09:57another lap anyway

00:10:00Erlingham comes out

00:10:01this is the section as they come up

00:10:03over here down into this uh

00:10:04white hander at Melvin Loop

00:10:06safety cars lights are still on

00:10:08so they're just going to have their first little look

00:10:10as you can just see as they come around here

00:10:12look to the left hand side of your picture

00:10:15there's it so it's just

00:10:16so we've also got reports of just spots of rain

00:10:19in the bottom of Crainer

00:10:20and the old hairpin

00:10:21so it's going to keep them on their toes

00:10:24but that makes sense to keep the safety car out

00:10:26for another lap

00:10:26so they can see that

00:10:28look at look at that dark

00:10:29dark clouds there

00:10:32ominous clouds gathering

00:10:33yeah there you see the rain

00:10:34and this one's going to probably get stopped

00:10:36James I would suspect

00:10:37because whilst these guys have got

00:10:39they're not slick tyres that they run

00:10:42but at the same time

00:10:43they're not going to be able to cope with a lot of rain

00:10:45we'll have to see how they get on

00:10:46I mean even the safety cars going sideways there

00:10:48and you can see the spots of rain on the front screen

00:10:51of the VW is tipping down

00:10:53as they head down the hill

00:10:55into Crainer Curves on lap 6 at 15

00:10:58we have got a red flag

00:11:00so these guys will all come in now

00:11:02and they'll be a new restart

00:11:04and they'll have a chance to switch her up

00:11:05where it'll get declared a wet race

00:11:07unless the rain stops of course

00:11:08and then it dries really quickly

00:11:10it's a really difficult one

00:11:11because they have no choice but to stop it

00:11:13because of the rain

00:11:15but it's kind of it's again

00:11:17it's not almost not enough

00:11:19it's not raining where we are in our country box

00:11:21we can't even see it

00:11:23and yet you know down at the bottom of Crainer

00:11:25and the old hairpin

00:11:27so it's a very difficult condition

00:11:28and also the track's been drying super super quick

00:11:31you can see the sheets of rain

00:11:33coming along

00:11:34it's almost been cool out

00:11:35under a red flag as well

00:11:37that's Kevin Milani unfortunately

00:11:39the Italian who's just gone down here

00:11:41so it's uh

00:11:43it is tricky

00:11:45just going to cruise it back to the pits

00:11:47so unfortunately we'll keep it on

00:11:49in the distance there

00:11:50well we knew it was coming at some point today

00:11:52it did say between sort of one and four

00:11:58so

00:12:00yeah you can see the rain

00:12:01if that's heading this way

00:12:02there's going to be

00:12:04a serious downpour here at Donington

00:12:06but this one then

00:12:07we had the safety car route

00:12:08due to an incident involving Max Simmons

00:12:10he's been structured away

00:12:11hopefully he's okay

00:12:12and then as they were on the safety car

00:12:15the rain started falling

00:12:17the red flag has come out

00:12:18as James says

00:12:19where our commentary box is situated

00:12:20on the start-finish straight

00:12:21it's not actually raining here

00:12:23it's got some sunshine

00:12:24but then we can see in the distance

00:12:26over the sort of top of the hill

00:12:28towards Starkey's

00:12:29that there is a bit of rain coming there

00:12:31as well

00:12:33so it's dry this part of the track

00:12:34this is the part of the track that we're

00:12:36it's just behind us

00:12:38look at the right hand side

00:12:40that really is

00:12:40I mean

00:12:41with the rain falling

00:12:43there's not a lot of it James

00:12:45you'd get the chance here

00:12:46if it's declared a wet restart

00:12:48over a shortened distance

00:12:49to change to wets if you want to

00:12:51if it's declared a wet race

00:12:52that's the only time you can do that

00:12:53but then would you go out

00:12:55and race on wets

00:12:56in these conditions

00:12:57when most of the circuit is dry

00:12:59it is always difficult

00:13:02it's

00:13:05I mean obviously

00:13:06the thing with that

00:13:07if it does rain harder

00:13:08it's your fault

00:13:09you know

00:13:09so you can see the tyres

00:13:11that they have

00:13:12just they've got a light groove

00:13:13they're kind of almost a slick

00:13:15but they're a very

00:13:16they're a road tyre

00:13:18in a

00:13:20apostrophe

00:13:20as it were

00:13:21do you know what I mean

00:13:22it's sort of a

00:13:22they are like

00:13:23it's just a kind of

00:13:24lightly cut slick

00:13:25they're not clearing water

00:13:26are they

00:13:27they're not

00:13:27but it's

00:13:28it's difficult

00:13:29because at the moment

00:13:30they're not

00:13:31obviously we saw how hard

00:13:33it was raining

00:13:33at the top of crater curves

00:13:36but this track dries

00:13:37really quickly

00:13:38I was stunned actually

00:13:39when we were here on Thursday

00:13:40doing that little track piece

00:13:42with Scott Redding

00:13:42and it had rained just before

00:13:44five minutes later

00:13:45it was bone dry

00:13:46and I put my hand on the track

00:13:47and you could feel the warmth

00:13:48you know

00:13:49the sun being quite warm

00:13:50the wind blowing across

00:13:50so this could actually dry

00:13:53quite quickly

00:13:54almost certainly

00:13:54it will be declared

00:13:55a wet race

00:13:56yeah it has been

00:13:56you can see on the time screen

00:13:57seven laps

00:13:58and it's declared a wet race

00:13:59but

00:14:00it would be

00:14:01it would be a gamble

00:14:03to go out on wet

00:14:03I guess if you're sort of

00:14:04towards the back end of the grid

00:14:06it could be worth a gamble

00:14:08in case it absolutely tips down

00:16:13so yeah

00:16:13just struggling a little bit

00:16:20I felt strong

00:19:47heat in the tyre

00:45:33ride yesterday by the way we enjoyed seeing that yeah you know matt's done pretty well hasn't he flown

00:45:44took it there it was a good effort i was a little bit nervous on those first few laps of

00:45:48his tire choice but

00:45:48he's pulled it off so uh yeah if we can do the same i'd be more than happy looks a

00:45:52little bit better

00:45:53uh now for your uh predictable conditions i guess even uh uh the painted sections are dry enough yeah

00:46:00i mean i saw them using in stock race using the curb so obviously not too bad because they've got

00:46:06more grunt than us so well you know it'll be what it'll be but i think looks like it's going

00:46:39that was was potentially a problem which is why i tried to get them a good one out of the

00:46:42yeah it didn't work i made a mistake we paid for it uh we've made a few changes for today

00:46:47uh i'm not in a position where i need to i need to that that could have run out this

00:49:10there was for super stock a moment ago but as me and james were just watching james whittam's gridwalk

00:49:15we can see over in the distance towards starkey's that there are a few rain clouds again so whether

00:49:22this gets rain interrupted we will have to wait and see in terms of the championship a double winner

00:49:27olsen fluke staple third and a second yesterday means he has a seven point lead over ben curry

00:49:31who was victorious with that last lap move yesterday jack kennedy 10 adrift despite yesterday's hiccups

00:49:37dean harrison in fourth overall ahead of the australian supersport champion jack mahafi harry true love

00:49:43was on the podium yesterday a very good weekend for the true love clan and they'll be heading back

00:49:48to lincoln very happy as things stand it's curry on pole from kennedy and staple fit here for this feature

00:49:53race with harry true love heading row two ahead of dean harrison and billy mcconnell on the mechanic

00:49:58triumph jack mahafi is seventh ahead of josh davis motorsport rider cory tinker and msg suzuki's

00:50:05lucas brand then it's carter brown on the vintage protocati 10th ahead of jamie davis and cameron swain

00:50:12the cup rider who has been doing very well on the power slide suzuki james we had a chance to

00:50:19with young cameron earlier on um he's come over here from australia british mum australian dad his

00:50:24dad is actually heading back to australia directly after this while cam stays here in the uk but just

00:50:3017 years of age never been to uk never seen the circuits he was 20 yesterday on a cup bike

00:52:33i'm afraid so watching the right bike on the right hand side

00:52:39and then he looks down and uh sort of uh it's not me he's like the guys are like oh

00:52:48yeah so they know

00:52:50what's what now the question is when does he take it you've got three laps to take it you really

00:52:54want to

00:52:54take it a little bit later than these earlier so long that penalties i should point out as well

00:52:59yeah for that yeah but you're allowed to have three laps kind of yes yeah that's right yeah so

00:53:05really well it's costing the chance of winning yeah i mean it will cost him and it's um probably

00:53:11costing the a chance of top ten um so he has got you can see there the two the double

00:53:16long lap penalty

00:53:16so he has to come in at the moment look we'll show next time around there's a little sort of

00:53:21extra

00:53:22trail on the outside and uh that's what he's got to do it'll cost you about three seconds probably

00:53:28each time so six seconds and the later you leave it in some ways the more the the pattern is

00:53:33spread

00:53:34out so the better chance you have of losing less places is the theory behind he's got to try keep

00:53:39his head the rider in fourth we're talking about now and just try and get as many points as possible

00:53:43also the other thing is you know we've had a bit of rain it's not been used it's there's kind

00:53:48sorts of scenarios that also come in it's always a bit dirty because it's not online so um you have

00:53:54be careful and you know use your head when you are doing it applying the flag for mccams yamaha on

00:54:00though leading is harry true love buoyed by the fact that his brother was just on the podium in

00:54:04super stock yeah and he had that brilliant podium yesterday as well didn't he yeah and so really

00:54:09flying this r9 and this triple the yamaha that they were they're riding now the cams obviously a

00:54:15fantastic team they know how to get the best out of yamahas so number 44 true love keeping it nice

00:54:21and

00:54:21tidy he's always got a little bit wide there that is the loop there you see that is the uh

00:54:26that's what we're

00:54:26saying the long lap penalty great pictures there to to show you so he's not going on this app or

00:54:32he's

00:54:32having a little look up the inside curry so he moves up into third ahead of kennedy he'll get a

00:54:37reminder

00:54:37as well as he goes across the line that he has got that long lap penalty to take as we

00:54:40go across the

00:54:41line then it's the scars racing to casting staple foot that leads from true love curry for the time being

00:54:46in third he's just been told on his pit board by his wife kirsty as well but he's got to

00:55:15anticipated it yeah it seemed that way didn't it will he take the penalty loop this time around though

00:55:20then curry because then he really is running the risk of further penalties as the top five heading

00:55:26to cop this corner yeah so curry won yesterday second in the championship he was the uh it was the

00:55:32champion uh back in um when was he 23. um so he will uh just have a little look here

00:55:40as we sort of

00:55:41come around so we come through these s's as we come up to the loop keep an eye on uh

00:55:46number 61 curry he's

00:55:48good she should go yes he does oh well he's going to do well to stop it just about makes

00:56:48jack kennedy is third you've got to caddy versus honda they've got a bit of breathing space and then

00:56:54it's billy mcconnell in third on the triumph yeah it's brilliant brilliant come on doing a great job

00:56:59there on the academy now factory racing triumph in third filling in and behind them that's brown

00:57:05isn't it yeah lucas brown on the msg racing suzuki in fact he's about to move up into third this

00:57:09is a

00:57:10really solid ride from brown there he is number 29 now keeping on him as well he was a british

00:57:15talent

00:57:15cup winner wasn't he yeah back in the past and uh really we just he sort of came in our

00:57:20vision really

00:57:21yesterday didn't he in this class and looking comfortable and uh doing a really good job

00:57:27someone else is doing a really good job here is max wadsworth as well the mechanic triumph rider of

00:57:32course son of dave what's worth he runs the mechanic triumph team yeah and wadsworth is in seventh

00:57:37he is he's just about to come in our picture so that's billy yeah ben curry has just done his

00:57:44second

00:57:44long lap penalty so we'll see how much uh time that's costing so he's just decided get him out of

00:57:50the way

00:57:51lap five of 17 so we're going to give him charles where is koey he's still he's not lost too

00:57:57time no he's uh not done bad he's six point two seconds behind the leaders so that um only cost

00:58:28doing a good job these two are 1.7 seconds up though on the chasing pack now jack kennedy very

00:58:33honest on the grid to james whittem about how he felt about his display uh yesterday he did get

00:58:39caught out by the lights going out quickly but he looks much more like the jack we know and love

00:58:43yeah the biggest thing actually was that just that he'd obviously had written off the bike to smash it to

00:58:48pieces the day before and there'd been a problem with the caliper the front brake was binding on so he

00:58:54who just couldn't break as oh harrison coming up late he's coming to full but he does it neat and

00:59:01tidy doesn't he but he's gonna fight around the outside but i don't know if he's gonna be able to

00:59:05hold him off dean harrison maybe sniffs a podium here in british supersport for the first time

00:59:11he's had a number of fourth place finishes but not being on the podium he is in the form of

00:59:16life at the moment dino number 55 next up for him is lucas brown well yes at the front

00:59:23kennedy was the only man in the 30s in the field 130.8 to 131.2 to stay before just

00:59:30couple of tenths of a second between them there are your leaders then you've got that gap back

00:59:34two and a half seconds back to this really big battle for the final podium so and harrison was

00:59:40just going through yeah he has do you know what ben curry's going to join this group there's enough time

01:00:24this race he is indeed swain in 11th first cut bike by a mile the next cut bike is 21st

01:00:31so the fight for

01:00:32third lucas brown number 29 on the msg racing suzuki currently holds that carter brown there on the bench

01:00:37road at ducati oh you saw him thinking about it you saw dean harrison there she also having a little

01:00:46think coming in he's in great form dean harrison 30.9 for staple fit out front was marginally quicker

01:00:52than jack kennedy what's the lap time from number 61 curry a 31 flat he's a good five six tenths

01:00:59quicker

01:01:00than anyone in this pack is ben curry after two long lap penalties what a salvage job it would be

01:01:06if he can find that sort of just over two and a half seconds he would will at the moment

01:01:09that will

01:01:10take him about five or six laps going at this rate so he should get there you can see he

01:01:16started just

01:01:17a sort of break away from uh from tinker he's put a few bite lengths in this is where jack

01:01:22seems to be

01:01:23really good just coming through this fast flowing stuff see he's he'll be desperate it's important for

01:01:29him that he starts to just try and get one over on uh on staple foot staple foot's currently got

01:01:34a 10 point

01:01:34lead on him in the championship 72 points to kennedy's 62 points kennedy was um just three points

01:01:41behind curry so at the moment he would um go past curry in the championship if it kind of remained

01:01:48as it was we know curry he's going to come forward quite how far forward we don't know

01:01:52a little bit wide by ground there that might give um harrison the chance to come up harrison's going for

01:01:58anyway i mean he loves this line he holds it so well that's so difficult to do but dean harrison

01:02:03manages it and guess what that's going to help out ben curry again who in this lap alone has made

01:02:07up

01:02:07at least half a second curry is going to be fighting for a pony yeah that's a ride so at

01:02:14the moment oh

01:02:14that was billy's just got a little bit wide there so he drops back he's now just in front of

01:02:20his team

01:02:20us what's worth he's doing a brilliant job there number 75 look at the gap 1.5 now for ben

01:02:25curry right

01:02:26taking off what's that one point six 1.1 seconds in the last two laps last lap of the race

01:02:33is jack

01:02:34kennedy in second he will not leave luke stapleford alone that's the battle for the lead these guys are

01:02:40four seconds back this is the fight for third here is the battle for the lead number eight stapleford

01:02:45number four jack kennedy yeah couldn't get two more experience the englishman number eight on the

01:02:51ducati the dubliner number four on the honda and indeed so often we've seen in british supersport from

01:02:59the five-time champion where he's done this he's like one of those dogs that latches onto your leg and

01:03:04won't let go and then he pounces on the last lap he has robbed staple for the victory before doing

01:03:09this

01:03:10he's robbed many riders of it is he holding back is he a full chap he is at the moment

01:03:15the fastest

01:03:15man on the circuit his teammate at present is in line for his first podium in british supersport dean

01:03:22harrison number 55 and he's running well here he started to creep away from that pack yeah and then

01:03:28just behind him jack mohaffi the australian champ there he is number 73 on the astro jjr hippo suzuki

01:03:35look at look how close curry is now he is literally on the back of him but he's moving up

01:03:39into fourth

01:03:40as well out of brown yeah cory tinker is also getting closer there number 37 just behind ben curry

01:03:46so curry here has got a few to pick off but he's got time to do it we go over

01:03:52the line then ben curry's

01:03:53first uh attack is going to come on the mccadam triumph boys billy mcconnell and max wadsworth up

01:03:59ahead of him yep so he's had a few clear laps let's have a look at that last level 130

01:04:04.8 um and

01:04:06the man in front of him mcconnell was on 131.9 so he was 1.1 seconds quicker so he

01:04:12it's always more

01:04:15difficult once you get with him you've got a clear track you can do the lines you want now you

01:04:19can see

01:04:19the guys in front of him they're taking up part of the track you want but you'll also know that

01:04:23you can't

01:04:24waste any time you've got to try and get through this is that battle brown versus brown yeah two

01:04:30stars of the future you think in uh the british championship lucas number 29 and carter brown

01:04:36number 74 just up behind him both hail through the british talent couple moto 4 program as it's

01:04:42known now out front no change it's still stapled from kennedy then harrison with time back to chuck

01:04:49mahafi the australian curry uh i thought he might have a little look so this will keep a little eye

01:04:56out of curry coming down into here he might try and grab a place coming up the inside into here

01:05:01no the two tramps a little bit couldn't quite work it there but oh it's trying to come back

01:05:09that is billy mcconnell just in front of him late on the brakes hard to pass

01:05:15he hasn't managed to do anything on that lap as they come around and start lap 10. he knows he's

01:05:20got time james he doesn't need to do anything too silly here he'll want to make clean moves the two

01:05:25mccadam triumphs are sort of taking lumps out of each other at the moment am i right in thinking harrison's

01:05:30best is fourth yeah he's never had a podium in british super sport no so dean harrison he's been

01:05:36superb this year that man there just coming through your picture number 55 on the other factory honda

01:05:43teammates to uh jack kennedy having a brilliant ride he's never had a podium in this glass and

01:05:49he's in third and he's got see god he's got at least a 5.8 of a second up on

01:05:55uh mahafi in fourth

01:05:56so a brilliant ride from dean harrison back at the front staperford kennedy and uh just again these

01:06:03guys are separating with intense of a second lap after lap pretty much the uh i know on the last

01:06:09lap harrison

01:06:10also did a one got in the 130s but no one else is everyone else is in the 31s or

01:06:15slower so it's

01:06:15only these these two two and uh house on the last lap we're in the 130s stapleford will see plus

01:06:23naught

01:06:23in his pit bull he'll know exactly who it is yeah well exactly that you know you'll be able to

01:06:29hear

01:06:29the sound as well i mean nothing's quite like those big v twin to caddies but we just know that

01:06:34different

01:06:34sound absolutely got the it's a 955 cc big v twin the ducati against the 600 inline four of the

01:06:43honda

01:06:44they're all knocking out about 150 brake horse really oh no he's gone down yeah he's gone down

01:06:54first mistake just lost the front or touched the curb or we'll have a little look here it it's

01:07:01thankfully yeah he's just lost gone early easy to do maybe touch the white line and um curry has

01:07:07gone through on a couple of them as well i should just point out so he's up to six yeah

01:07:11he's up to

01:07:11sixth he's done there's dean harrison in third has he got enough space between himself and the rest

01:07:17because curry it seems he's going to make like work of this he's through on billy mcconnell he's through on

01:07:21lucas brown yeah lucas brand's with a little problem with tarbages would he have got caught up

01:07:26maybe in the unhappy crash so possibly possibly but he just seems to have dropped a a chunk of time

01:07:32as we look at garter brown and uh what's worth he's having a brilliant ride in fifth as well

01:07:37but behind them is curry i have to say whilst i would marvel at the fact that ben curry made

01:07:42it onto the

01:07:43podium after two long lap penalties dean harrison on the podium in british supersport would be magnificent as

01:07:48well here he is the number 55 a few years back just labeled as a roads man but a few

01:07:53really saw

01:07:54how well he was getting on year on year out in short circuit racing just how strong he was and

01:07:59the switch to supersport has really suited him and he's just in the form of his life last year was

01:08:03his

01:08:04best year ever and a podium here he's got quite a lot on his plate coming up in the next

01:08:09few weeks so

01:08:10forgive him for just concentrating on that but not so there's a podium on here for dean harrison

01:08:16but he's going to be coming under some pressure james because ben curry now has just got one more

01:08:20rider up ahead of him to move up into fourth yes and as they uh they've got five laps left

01:08:26and let's

01:08:27have a little look at what they're circulating at so harrison just a couple of tenths quicker on that

01:08:33last lap but obviously curry is coming through traffic and you know this has just been simmering away

01:08:38this battle at the front between staple fit and kennedy at the end of the day the two experiences to

01:08:43go

01:08:44oh there was a twitch there from staple fit through the old hairpin there was quick as well third gear

01:08:49over jamal now just sliding a little bit you know they're starting to feel it a bit on these tires

01:08:54now

01:08:55lap 12 and 17 but you feel like this is just kind of warming up to a a last few

01:09:01laps they almost don't

01:09:03jack almost doesn't want to show his hand before then but the question of uh is when does he go

01:09:10yeah of course with rain on the horizon as well we've just got two thirds distance so crossing the line

01:09:16in the lead is key as it stands the sun is shining but there is rain around staple foot that

01:09:23leads from

01:09:23kennedy where does he make his move is it going to be down into the melbourne loop not on this

01:09:28occasion

01:09:29well he's he's very good there stable foot himself look kennedy's a wily old fox too you don't win

01:09:37five of these championships without being super meanwhile third is dean harrison here

01:09:44ben curry is fourth we'll check the gap we'll check the lap times now that ben curry has got some

01:09:51clear

01:09:51air up ahead of him curry's done a brilliant job hasn't he really i mean obviously after that jump start

01:09:57to

01:09:57to come back even if he if he even if he stays in it was a mistake there it was

01:10:02a mistake just got

01:10:03on the paint it's a little bit of a slide he's in hot but he gets it turned he's bonded

01:10:09really well

01:10:09with that r9 he's 3.2 seconds down on dean harrison i don't think that's going to be doable

01:10:16here on this last lap and he might well just think do you know what there's enough points here for

01:10:20me

01:10:20after that jump start yeah well have a little look the fastest his best lap of the race stay before

01:10:27the map oh that was close going through stark he's at 140 miles an hour so stable for just being

01:10:35his quickest lap of the race there is harrison there's that gap that we're talking about so it is

01:10:42three seconds as you say just over three seconds and on the last lap curry did a 131.6

01:10:49now it's in the 131.2 so we'll keep an eye you feel like here out front the battle between

01:10:56staple

01:10:56food and kennedy is what we're watching right now the kennedy wants to pay you feel like he could make

01:11:03a move but he's not he's waiting isn't he until that final lap and if it's into the melbourne loop

01:11:07that then removes the chances of being overtaken back in all you'd have to do is just make sure that

01:11:13this corner was absolutely blocked off yeah that's true and that's that's what i mean you're not

01:11:18seeing these guys you they're just keeping in they've the bikes have got different strengths you

01:11:24can see in places kennedy just seems to be dropped a bit he's just put in his fast lap 130

01:11:29.3 which is

01:11:31three just over three tenths off the outright lap record so um that is which you'll just say as well

01:11:38that ollie barr is in tenth place at the moment we've not seen him because he started way back on

01:11:43the

01:11:43the grid from the 30th on the grid he crashed in qualifying they didn't get the bike ready for

01:11:49him to race yesterday he's up 20 places in today that's brilliant well we uh we went to see them

01:11:55didn't we one oh there's the move there's the move he has been fast hasn't he around that section and

01:12:00on the approach to mclean so he's made his move this is going to be interesting because i thought he

01:12:06might leave it until the last penultimate lap last lap he's gone a bit earlier and the question is what

01:12:12can he do about it so you have to be careful on the inside here that the caddy has normally

01:12:16got a

01:12:16fraction more drive but he keeps it he's going to want to try and break him now this lap he

01:12:21will

01:12:23absolutely try and go two very different styles on the motorcycles both brilliant as they get past

01:12:29that's the other thing you know it's back markers traffic coming up that could really play play into

01:12:35it here um so we have a little look let's have a look so that gap between curry and harrison

01:12:44staying

01:12:44the same at the moment for third but we're looking at the battle at the front mcconnell is coasting at

01:12:50the moment with billy mcconnell got an issue what a shame billy having a brilliant ride there so just

01:12:58he was going through the foggy s's on the tower and yeah he knew immediately arm up in the air

01:13:03just

01:13:03obviously cut out um so kennedy's gone three laps to go 15 16 17 and this bit of the track

01:13:17he really

01:13:18seems to be at his best that sweet little honda just seems to be able to edge a little bit

01:13:23traffic

01:13:24up ahead there is some traffic maybe that's why he's gone a bit early maybe you could just see that

01:13:29and thought hello i want to be cutting through these guys first which you do um so i'll be able

01:13:34to look

01:13:34at that that's dave tilling just up ahead of him as they head into confess in fact dave tilling has

01:13:39just gone down on the approach to coppers corner would he have been distracted maybe he'd have been

01:13:44distracted there could have been a blue flag being waved or something anything

01:13:47who knows but he's gone down so that's not a problem for them as luke staplford thought about

01:13:51a move into okay okay he says he did that will have cost him a little bit of time though

01:13:56actually

01:13:56that he just saw he kind of he did that he kind of went and then didn't go and actually

01:14:02ended up

01:14:02costing him he's in deep there though and to cat he looks really good on the brakes coming into that

01:14:07section so as we will about to start penultimate lap we've got this corner and we start lap 16 of

01:14:1517

01:14:16and he really needs his kennedy just at the moment as we say he's got 10 points behind luke staplford

01:14:23in

01:14:24the championship so he'll really want to try and grab a couple back staplford will be after another win

01:14:31two wins and a second and only just second yesterday after that small mistake that uh that cost him the

01:14:37win and curry was so quick to pounce on dean harrison still in that third spot and looking quite safe

01:14:43curry's taken half a second out of him but he's got to take another 1.3 seconds a lap and

01:14:50i just don't

01:14:51think they're going to be doing that on this last couple of laps oh staplford's close he's going to

01:14:56have a little look in though no it's all going to be about the good run out of coffee's corner

01:15:01and a

01:15:01move into foggy's he rehearsed it last time is he going to have another look now this is the penultimate

01:15:06lap remember anyone more to go after that is here this is key now on the scars racing to catty

01:15:11yeah and

01:15:11it looks like the caddy's a little bit stronger in this section so you can see him having to look

01:15:17up the

01:15:17inside and he's going to go and he has done you know he'd already leveled him as they sort of

01:15:22came

01:15:22out so he's going to go staplford number eight he leads from jack kennedy is kennedy going to repay the

01:15:28favor immediately down into the melbourne loop no he's not it's not calm again look how stable that

01:15:35caddy looks oh he's got affection wide they're now side by side on the exit staplford remains in the lead

01:15:40for now they'll round goddards and then it will be time for the final lap where can jack kennedy now

01:15:45parents and make his move that's again slightly deep on entry but that's okay he squared it off

01:15:51nicely last lap of british supersport it's staplford versus kennedy yep so 130.6 for staplford on that last

01:15:58lap super quick lap and uh again let's have a look harrison 131.4 so harrison's looking good as we're

01:16:06on

01:16:06the last lap and staplford is absolutely nailed this is where we start to see the honda building again

01:16:13building he comes down he's taking some of that bike legs out again this is where jack's the

01:16:17strongest though out of the old hairpin around starkey's here and up towards schwank's curve

01:16:23oh i tell you what though staplford's absolutely nailed it and he's oh but jack into mclean's

01:16:31so much speed there it won't be a move into copies i don't think i know he's not going to

01:16:36be able to level

01:16:37him but we'll say that watch the bikes coming out of here watch everywhere you see staplford's just

01:16:43sliding a bit and it just walks a couple of just times he's going to have a look up the

01:16:48inside i

01:16:48don't think he's close enough so he's got to stay close got to try and get through him well there's

01:16:53a

01:16:54little glance down he's got to get the drive here he shakes his head he knows it's not right out

01:16:58of there

01:16:59it's not going to come here in melbourne loop unless it's the last gasp it's defensive from staplford as well

01:17:03the last chance here james is into goddard which is risky it is risky and it's staple for the

01:17:10goddy i think drives a bit better out but he's might just have to though he can't

01:17:14it's not going to do it is actually covered it off and he's going to take another win

01:17:18brilliant stuff from the scars racing to catty rider it's three in 2026 for luke staplford he

01:17:23wins here from jack kennedy who gave it his all celebrations for them who's going to take third

01:17:29though they're waiting they're waiting dean harrison takes a podium in british supersport well done to

01:17:36him that's brilliant stuff and it is fourth for curry despite two long lap penalties yeah great from

01:17:42curry carter brown fifth wadsworth six tinker seventh uh lucas brown eighth bar ninth remember

01:17:50coming all the way from the back of the grid off the right in the bike off and uh cam

01:17:54swain gets

01:17:5510th on the cup nose solid brilliant another brilliant ride from him and what a battle this

01:18:00was that was toms claret fraser hall davis bringing up from uh 10th to 15th but this man three wins

01:18:08out

01:18:08of four looking very very good in time with well kennedy looked back and say he went maybe a lap

01:18:14early

01:18:15hard to know you had to take it when you could he looked slightly frustrated it's uh as he came

01:18:21in but

01:18:21it was a brilliant ride from him again and at the end of the day he still will have taken

01:18:25points he

01:18:26still will move to second in the championship above curry we've seen enough though in the opening two

01:18:30rounds to suggest that we've got another great jump yeah yeah yeah absolutely and add some new names in

01:18:35as well you know we're your likes about mahafi you know with the with the you know it looks like

01:18:40carter brown wandsworth yeah there's a few guys look this lucas brown here that sort of coming through now

01:18:45and a bar as we say a brilliant ride from bar and actually where would he have been if he

01:18:50had

01:18:50started with the leaders so some really good names coming through and i'm over the moon for dean

01:18:55harrison you know obviously heading into the tt is going to be a greater you know great result for

01:19:02him getting his best result in in super sport it's his wife vicky yeah brilliant for them and brilliant

01:19:07for honda as well second and third first time they've had two super sport podiums in a long long while

01:19:13fantastic stuff for them there'll be some celebrations there that's for sure what you see is what you get

01:19:18with dean harrison if you've never heard an interview with him before he is exactly looking forward to

01:19:23hearing it yeah he's brilliant a great family a racing family as well his dad uh sci-car uh driver

01:19:30as

01:19:30well and they both won uh tt's and what's called tt podium the same yeah scott hargreaves is happy with

01:19:36that it's all smiles for him maybe not the win but both boys on the podium that will do scars

01:19:41racing to

01:19:42catty have another winner as well well done to ben curry that is really limiting damage it was indeed

01:19:48after that you know after that mistake of the start to come through work hard now to um

01:20:06see what it means to them all they've worked very very hard

01:20:14excellent staple foot he's very very happy and that scars racing to catty so he should be the

01:20:19championship leader don't forget of course despite the delays that we've had we have got british super

01:20:24bikes race three coming up next so don't go anywhere and uh we'll get the results and standings in

01:20:30with the clouds coming over again quattro great british super sport it's another win for luke

01:20:36stapleford but he was truly tested there by jack kennedy dean harrison with his maiden podium in the class

01:20:40third ahead of ben curry despite two long lap penalties carter brown a top five for him solid

01:20:45max wadsworth likewise in six ahead of tinker lucas brown ollie barr from 30th on the grid tonight

01:20:51and cam swain the cup ride at 10th tj thoms was 11th ahead of harvey claridge cameron fraser 13th

01:20:57cameron hall 14th the final point going to xmt racing rider jamie davis and the championship

01:21:04staple foot then will take a 13 point lead into knock hill but it's close 14 covering the top three

01:21:09staple for kennedy and curry with dean harrison only 25 adrift himself in fourth

01:21:14billy mcconnell no points for him down in 10th but lucas brown is 11th now he moves ahead of the

01:21:19absent

01:21:31uh luke a brilliant race with jack but in the end you had it covered nice and defensive up in

01:21:37it god had lesson learned from yesterday i think one day uh we've not quite had the pace pace that

01:21:42we

01:21:43thought we'd have a weekend if i'm honest the uh i thought it was fast i'd be faster than what

01:21:46i was

01:21:46in that race i kept seeing plus here on the board and i thought i can't do what i did

01:21:50yesterday and

01:21:50and jack just do what he typically does and pass your last two corners needed to have a look at

01:21:54him

01:21:55so that's pretty much what i did them last few laps and seeing where we were strong where he was

01:21:57strong

01:21:58tried to slow him up in this uk on that them last two corners so i could probably try and

01:22:01get a bit of

01:22:02a gap and luckily it was enough to uh enough to get the win so the lads have worked really

01:22:06hard this

01:22:06weekend a bit more difficult than than all and then the speed that we've had in in testing as well

01:22:09so

01:22:10to get first and second when we're having a difficult weekend i'll take that it's a good weekend

01:22:15i was just going to say uh not a bad weekend when that's happened is it no usually when you're

01:22:19struggling you know it's like eighth ninth tenth or whatever it may be so uh first and the second

01:22:23when we're when we're not 100 comfortable what weekend so well hello happy birthday to the boss

01:23:45it's only round two and uh honestly it's the bike that suits me you know it's one that fits yeah

01:23:51lot of people been telling me but uh yeah i think it's amazing to be battling with carl and scott

01:23:56and i've really enjoyed myself all weekend you know it's like all the races have been so nicely

01:24:00controlled all the past has been harsh but fair um but yeah running at the front you know with these

01:24:05boys is uh yeah really really cool now not kill next is that circuit you like i've not particularly

01:24:11gone well there before but uh i need to turn it around so you've got the bite to do on
