00:00Highly anticipated next instalment in the DC Universe,
00:04Lanterns premieres tomorrow, only on HBO Max.
00:08We've had some blockbuster entertainment here at Thruxton
00:11so far this weekend.
00:13Drama in every class as well.
00:16A brilliant BSB race two here earlier this afternoon,
00:19and as you can see now, the bikes are on the grid,
00:21and we're getting lined up ready for race three.
00:23If it's anything like race two, we're in for a cracker.
00:25That was a sprint race, James.
00:26This is a feature race, 20 laps instead of 12.
00:28How much difference is that going to make?
00:30It makes quite a lot of difference, actually.
00:32It just means that you've really got to think about your tyre.
00:35You can't go too early, you can't go too hard.
00:37You've got to be very conscious on that first step of the throttle,
00:40not allowing the spin.
00:41And it just means it's a bit more...
00:44You've just got to... It's a bit more chess-like.
00:46You've got to just think about it
00:48so you've got something left to fight for those last four laps.
00:50There was a little bit of strategy at playing the sprint race,
00:53nevertheless, Danny, and Ryan Vickers played it the best.
00:56He came up with the perfect plan.
00:57Nick Ted at the right time and took his first win of the season.
01:01Yeah, unbelievable ride by Ryan.
01:02I think, you know, I was stood at the last corner
01:04and the grandstand felt it as well.
01:05And, I mean, looking on screen now, he comes up here.
01:08He just out brakes him on the outside as well.
01:10The car ride here gets himself to the apex.
01:12And, yeah, obviously, for the last step, that moment there, though,
01:15that would have felt so much bigger on the bike than what we see.
01:18But, yeah, fantastic race.
01:20But just going back to what James is saying now,
01:21it's going to be interesting because, obviously,
01:23the first race yesterday was red flagged.
01:24Hopefully this one goes to full distance.
01:26Is there going to be a difference in strategy?
01:28Because we saw Scott Redding go off and burn his tire out.
01:30So I'm interested to see now, are the guys going to slow off
01:33right at the start of this race?
01:34You know, what are the lap times going to be?
01:36Is Brad going to feel confident enough, you know,
01:38after the first two races to get himself to the front and get away?
01:41And, yeah, I'm excited.
01:43Well, Brad's got every reason to be confident, Shane.
01:45He put together a brilliant few laps towards the end after getting nerfed
01:48out of the way by Leon Haslam, fought his way back through to the podium.
01:51And he starts this one from Paul.
01:53Yeah, he starts from Paul.
01:54He started the sprint race from Paul, though, didn't he?
01:55And it's a difficult one because, you know, we spoke about this earlier on.
01:58You know, there's the argument that if you're on your own and you're out front
02:01and you can ride your own lines and you can do what you want to do on the motorcycle,
02:05you know, you control how much tire you're using.
02:07But you get involved in a battle like this where you've got people all around you
02:11and you're trying to set up moves.
02:12You start using a little bit more tire than you need to.
02:15And, you know, it causes problems.
02:16So, honestly, I have absolutely no idea what the strategy is going to be.
02:21All of the guys are going to be mindful of the fact that this race only really starts
02:24with about two or three laps to go.
02:25When we get that far, if we do, let me assure you,
02:28it is going to be an absolute barnstormer of a race.
02:31And I can't actually call it.
02:32Will Vickers do the same again?
02:34Will the Ducati's come out on top?
02:35Will Brad finally get the win?
02:37Who knows?
02:37It is going to be incredible.
02:39It's one of those, though, James, where you feel like no matter how many times you run this race,
02:43you could end up with a different outcome every time.
02:45Yeah, absolutely.
02:46It's kind of like, where does it fall?
02:47You know, there's so many little things that can have it.
02:50Whether someone outbrakes pushes you wide.
02:53You're just trying to be in the right spot in the latter part of the race.
02:57And that basically means not going too early, as we saw with Scott.
03:01You can just sort of stay in the pack and then just build it for those last four or five
03:05laps.
03:34And then his gloves off.
03:35Four or six or seven last time out in the sprint race.
03:38What's the plan for the long one, Joe?
03:39I mean, you're in a different position.
03:41You've just got to do what you can learn and stay on the thing.
03:44Did you enjoy that? I bet you did.
03:46Yeah, I enjoyed it.
03:47I was actually in the leading group for a couple of laps.
03:50And then towards the end, like two, three to go, they all gapped me again.
03:54So I was clinging on in there, trying to manage the tyre as much as I can.
03:57But the pace was fast.
03:58Even a pace on Saturday was fast.
04:00So it's all about trying to control it.
04:02First experience around here on a superbike.
04:05So just got to try and do the best you can learn these boys knows what they're doing.
04:09So I'm trying to go off the names in front of me and just trying to, when they go, I'm
04:13trying to go, but it's easier said than done.
04:16Good luck.
04:17Right, here he is.
04:18Look, this man here, Darren Frye, this is one of the team owners of FS3 AJN Steel Stocks Bermota team.
04:28I just want to ask you about Joe, because he was an inspired choice.
04:32I know you always like to nurture the younger riders, but a lot of teams won't do that for a
04:37lot of reasons.
04:38If you get a young lad who throws it in the trees every week, it's going to cost you a
04:41lot of money.
04:41But you've gone with it, and what a find, eh?
04:43Yeah, but it's a joint decision between the sponsor, you know, Alan at AJN Steel Stock.
04:48He loves to bring the youngsters on.
04:51Nigel's always wanted to help the youngsters get on the bikes and get on a competitive bike.
04:56So between those two guys, then it's our job to make it work.
04:59And I think Joe's, I'll tell you what, I think he's had an exceptional season to almost to the point
05:04where I think he's a bit underestimated.
05:07And to see him in that last race hanging on to the back of them boys already, he just doesn't
05:12realise how good he is at the minute.
05:14Yeah, I agree with you entirely.
05:16And I mean, good on you for choosing him.
05:19Good on you, mate.
05:19He's a good lad.
05:20Let's see how he goes.
05:21Good up.
05:22Right.
05:23Yeah, I honestly can't agree more.
05:25He's punching over and above the way he should be in his rookie season in Superbike.
05:31Not easy.
05:32These things are not easy to ride.
05:33At this level, they are flipping weapons.
05:37Right.
05:37I tell you what, let's go on.
05:382.15 left.
05:39We're not going to get across the front, all the front of the front row.
05:43But I want to speak to this man, Ryan Vickers.
05:45Let's have a look.
05:45There's cameras everywhere.
05:47There you go.
05:47Ryan, I had a feeling about that.
05:50I mean, listen, you could run 10 different races around here and have 10 different wins just
05:54because of the nature of the circuit and you work that one out.
05:56I'll tell you what I like about it.
05:58You're not going to say you did and admit it, but you took a fair amount of risk there.
06:02The front were going, the rear went when you took the lead there.
06:04Good on you, mate.
06:05Yeah, feeling really good.
06:06Absolutely.
06:07So happy with that.
06:08Get the first win of the year.
06:09But you know what?
06:09I think the big thing was I was just super comfortable in my levers because I know some
06:13people, they leave coat hangers in their levers.
06:19You'll tell that story in a bit.
06:21All right.
06:21Good luck, Ryan.
06:22Well reading you the other one, mate.
06:24And good luck.
06:24Thanks.
06:25Thanks, mate.
06:25Cheers.
06:26Yeah, I'm not proud of it, but thanks, man.
06:29Right.
06:29What we got left?
06:321.30.
06:33Right.
06:34Kyle, ride 1.30.
06:35Kyle doesn't talk that much on the grid because he's getting ready.
06:39Kyle, can you have a plan?
06:40Best thing about you is you have a plan A, but then it didn't work.
06:43So you come up with a plan B and it's usually a good one.
06:45Yeah, same as the last race.
06:47I got a bad start and plan A was pass as many people as possible as quick as I could.
06:51But I think people was expecting, people didn't want to lead.
06:56So I just got to the front and did what I could do.
06:59I didn't win the race.
07:00I didn't even come on the podium.
07:01So maybe I went a bit too fast, but I still had a tire at the end.
07:04I just got beat up a little bit and I wasn't aggressive enough on the last lap.
07:07But anyway, still good points.
07:10The objective was to beat Scott and I didn't do that.
07:12So I'll try again in this one.
07:13Hello.
07:13See you, mate.
07:14Back of the shot.
07:15Mention for Danny Kent, first time front row this year.
07:18Absolutely brilliant.
07:19He loves this place.
07:20A couple of wins for him last year.
07:21We've got about 30 seconds left.
07:23We'll just try and get a little bit of a word.
07:24If you're getting fed up on me, this is the time on the grid where you really don't want some
07:28nugget coming up and talking to you.
07:31Great ride.
07:32I think another couple of laps.
07:33You had a big chance of winning that one.
07:36Same again this time.
07:37Yeah, obviously, we've got an extra eight laps on top of that.
07:39So I think the pace won't be as strong at the start.
07:42But yeah, I feel good.
07:43Felt good in the long race yesterday.
07:45So let's see if we can put it all together for the last race.
07:47Go on, Brad.
07:48Cheers, mate.
07:49Yeah, he got kind of beat up a little bit by Leonel.
07:52I'm not very mangrant.
07:53He said he rode like a demon.
07:54I think he could win this.
07:57Well, any one of them could win this.
07:59And that is the beauty of British Superbikes at its best, which is exactly what we're getting here at Thruxton
08:04this weekend.
08:05A whole bunch of riders, a whole bunch of manufacturers could take the top step here in BSB Race 3.
08:10It's coming up after the break.
08:1620 races down, 13 to go in 2026.
08:20And the last one at Thruxton.
08:21What a weekend it has been.
08:24No Storm Stacey lining up on the grid here.
08:27Let's quickly go down to pit lane shaky.
08:29I believe you have some news on that.
08:31Steve, I do, mate.
08:32Yeah, one of the most notable disappearances off the grid is Storm Stacey.
08:35As you can see, that Bavum's AJN Steelstock Ducati is in the garage.
08:39We spoke with John McAvoy really briefly earlier on, said there was a technical issue.
08:43Storm wasn't happy.
08:44So is the bike not fixable or is Storm really unhappy?
08:46Who knows?
08:47But either way, he's not on the grid, Steve.
08:49Well, there we are.
08:50That's fairly disappointing.
08:52Let's find out.
08:53Hopefully, we'll be able to pick the bones out of that at Cadwell in a couple of weeks' time.
08:56And find out what the reason is for that.
08:59In a championship car ride leads by 33 points.
09:02But that's not really the story here this weekend.
09:04The story is Struxton.
09:05The story is that anyone here could win this race.
09:08We love it coming here.
09:10One of the best tracks ever.
09:11And after having the pleasure of commentating the last five years here,
09:16you're just never disappointed.
09:17James, I can't wait for this.
09:19The grid line up here with Ray, Ryde and Ken.
09:22You could go down through the top ten at least.
09:25There may be more and pick out a winner.
09:27The top ten on the grid covered by four tenths of a second.
09:31It's been breathtaking.
09:33Yep.
09:33Absolutely fantastic meeting.
09:34We are used to seeing close and exciting races here for a lot of reasons.
09:38We've discussed it all.
09:39Tire management, slipstream in the nature of the circuit, et cetera, et cetera.
09:43However, this has been a particularly good weekend.
09:47Just brilliant to watch.
09:49And you could have seven or eight, ten races,
09:51and you get a slightly different result every single time.
09:55And you don't want to lead it last lap with the group behind you,
09:57because you won't win it from there.
09:58Is it going to be Brad Ray's moment here coming up?
10:01There is his dad ready to go here for this one.
10:0520 laps, remember, traditionally speaking, over the last five, six years and beyond,
10:10the third race in a weekend.
10:12Of course, three races came in 2020.
10:152020 has been the slowest overall.
10:18Yeah.
10:19So we're expecting a slow pace to start.
10:21Yeah.
10:21That's because they've kind of learned when they can go,
10:25if they go to, so they just, they stay off it a little bit longer.
10:28Hold on tight, folks.
10:29It's time for race three.
10:31And as the lights go out, Ryan Bickers from row two is coming through on his Honda.
10:36It is going to be, is that Danny Kent?
10:39That's Kent.
10:39Who leads into turn one on the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha.
10:43It's a Yamaha one, two.
10:45Facts the Yamaha one, two, three.
10:47Is Rory Skinner there?
10:48Locks it up the inside.
10:49Cheshire Mouldings have a one, two.
10:51Kyle Wright then puts a move on Bradley Ray to move up into third.
10:55Yeah, Kyle Wright said he wasn't aggressive enough,
10:56and he got beat up a little bit.
10:57That is a kind of side effect of the fact that he's a super safe rider.
11:02He wants to keep himself out of trouble.
11:04Championship winning man.
11:05So he says, well, I didn't say, but I got the impression
11:08he's going to get his elbows out a little bit more this race.
11:10Rory Skinner got his first ever podium at Ruxton here yesterday.
11:14And he's just trying to line up a move on his teammate.
11:16Look, varying lines from the number 52 and the number 11.
11:19Now, the 52, Danny Kent knows how he races around here.
11:22He won two last year.
11:23He's very much a local boy.
11:24Not that that makes any difference.
11:26He won't have done any more racing here than anybody else on the grid,
11:28and less than some.
11:30We're doing Grand Prix for a long time.
11:33However, he is good at managing tyres,
11:36but it's more difficult to do it from the front than it is,
11:38well, second now, than it is from 15th,
11:41because you use more tyre coming through.
11:42A couple of moves into the club chicane.
11:44Rory Skinner now leads.
11:45Oh, dear, that's a horrible one.
11:48That is a nasty one.
11:49Is that Redding?
11:51Yes, it is.
11:51It's Scott Redding from second.
11:54And you can tell there from the gesticulating, he is not happy.
11:57Yeah.
11:57That could be big for the championship.
11:59It is big for the championship.
12:01That is Scott Redding's first fall since 2019 in a race.
12:07And it doesn't look like it's his own doing.
12:08Well, he, for one, definitely doesn't think it's his fault.
12:11What I would say is club chicane.
12:14And I do apologise for his gesticulation there.
12:17I mean, obviously, he's upset here at the moment stuff.
12:21But he doesn't see it as his fault.
12:22He's Mayan back.
12:23I mean, he's way back in the pack.
12:25Oh, it's O'Halloran, a natural O'Halloran.
12:27Yeah.
12:27It's hard to really see after just one look.
12:30Yeah.
12:30Hard to see.
12:31Let's have a look.
12:32You can see them both there.
12:33There is definite contact, isn't there?
12:35O'Halloran on the Honda going through.
12:37I don't actually think he'd seen...
12:41O'Halloran, and he turned in on O'Halloran, who just put himself there.
12:45So, yeah.
12:46Yeah, not happy at all.
12:48Wow, okay.
12:48So 33 points, what's the difference?
12:50That's going to increase.
12:51You must imagine.
12:52O'Halloran would be keen because he's coming off what is a disappointing season for him.
12:57He's a figure.
12:58He's a feature of this chicane.
13:00He does suck you in.
13:01He's a bit of a fuddle.
13:02Somebody else has gone straight across.
13:03That's Millicicicic.
13:04Yeah.
13:05Millicicicic having a bit of a drama there.
13:06So, let's regroup.
13:07It's Skinner that leads from Kent.
13:09The two Chesham-holding Yamaha riders.
13:11Then it's your championship leader, Kyle Ride, from Vickers, from Ray.
13:15Haslam is sixth.
13:16O'Halloran seventh.
13:17Then it's Talbot Idden and Nesbitt on the Taconda with the fastest lap of the race in tenth.
13:22Yeah, but it isn't...
13:23It's not a particularly quick...
13:26No, it is a reasonably quick lap time.
13:29We've seen 14s, high 14s, gave Radray Paul in race two from his race one to the long race.
13:37He did a 14-8, which is a really quick lap for a 20 lapper.
13:41Under investigation, as you can imagine, having a good look at this into the club chicane.
13:45We've seen these sorts of incidents so often.
13:48I'm glad I haven't got to make the calls on these.
13:51We'll let you know what the outcome is.
13:53Yeah, from that, I get it.
13:55That wasn't Scott turning in on him to be tough.
13:59That was him not knowing that O'Halloran was there.
14:02But O'Halloran's keen.
14:03He's had an unlucky season and a disappointing season, and he's not a dirty rider at all.
14:10Right, Vickers moves up into third.
14:13Boost of confidence from O'Halloran.
14:14O'Halloran's keen as well wide.
14:16That's well actually to pull that one back.
14:17He loses two places, and he's lost all momentum now onto the start, finished straight.
14:21And he's done a little bit yesterday.
14:22Yeah, car ride now up the inside of him as well.
14:24You can see in the bottom of your picture, Scott Redding has made it back into pit lane.
14:27He's dooming.
14:29Yeah, and let's be honest, it doesn't matter what penalty, if any penalty,
14:32is bestowed upon Jason O'Halloran, he isn't going to get any points back for Scott Redding.
14:39And you would imagine that that info has been translated to Kyle Ryder as well.
14:43His dad does his pit board, Sean, and I know that they've got Redding on there.
14:47Yeah.
14:47I'd be surprised if they haven't said Redding out on that.
14:50Absolutely.
14:50There is no better link between kind of pit board person and Ryder.
14:55They've been doing that. Sean's been doing his pit board for, well, since he was five.
15:00That's a long time.
15:01It is a long time.
15:02This is the big group at the front then on lap four of 20.
15:05Danny Kent leads.
15:07Danny Kent down in the dumps, hasn't he, all year long?
15:09He has, and he's got to be careful here.
15:11When you haven't had the result and you can see one coming, it's very easy around it.
15:15Again, you get hard on the throttle, use a bit too much for your tyre,
15:19and then the tyre grip disappears and you go backwards.
15:22Almost four abreast again then on the approach to the chicane.
15:25Rory Skinner's done well to regroup on this lap after it went one through him last time.
15:28He's holding the line well there.
15:29When he sits up, Kyle Ryder into the chicane.
15:31Now Kyle Ryder lost the front a little bit.
15:33That's what happened, pushing wide.
15:34It's Vickers that leads from Skinner.
15:36They were second and third yesterday.
15:39Vickers, brilliant win earlier.
15:41I'd argue the race that we saw earlier in the sprint,
15:44one of the best we've seen since the 2024 showdown.
15:47No further action for that incident, uh, chicane.
15:50Okay, that's fine.
15:51One of the, it's one of the best side ever.
15:52Oh, wee, that's, um, that little bit lunges going in, didn't he?
15:56He got it stopped.
15:57I like that, it's perfect, yeah, it worked.
16:01Oh, look at that, there's almost contact there between Kyle Ryder and Ryan Vickers.
16:05You know what I'm seeing from number 11 there, Rory Skinner?
16:08It just takes one race result, and then you've got the confidence.
16:11You know your bike can do it around here, and you know you can.
16:14We have said for so long, James, that the likes of Rory Skinner and Ryan Vickers
16:18have got the talent.
16:20It just all leads the lead together.
16:21Yeah, they're in a field full of people who have the talent.
16:24That's the problem.
16:26You know, I've had years in British Superbike when, you know, it was hard at the front,
16:31and we were setting lap records, but if you had a bad day, you were sixth.
16:35Here, you have a bad day, you're 12th.
16:37This group, 10 riders.
16:40Nesbit at the back of it, still with the fastest lap, Talbot included.
16:43Christian Nidden also on the Senkat Yamaha.
16:46Yep, the light blue bike there just didn't see him.
16:51Brad Ray looking kind of steady and just watching how it's unfolding.
16:57Over the line we go.
16:58Lee Jackson is just trying to add himself onto this group on the Dow Racing Honda.
17:02As it stands then, with Scott Reading out of the race, 49 points would be the difference
17:08heading into Cadwell Park.
17:09Yeah.
17:10To its time, and that is starting to look more than comfortable.
17:13Yes, it is.
17:13Yeah, I agree.
17:14And this isn't against somebody who's had a lucky run.
17:16This is against somebody who hasn't fallen off his bike for so long.
17:19You know, he's up against a really reliable, thinking rider in Kyle Ride.
17:26Well, podium run, of course, coming to an end.
17:2919 out of 19.
17:30This is the 21st race.
17:32He's not that disappointed.
17:34Of course he's not.
17:34He's thinking of the championship.
17:37They are well aware, the whole team, that here at Thruxton, you could be the fastest man around
17:42the circuit and come away with zero silverware.
17:46Completely.
17:46Yep.
17:47It's just one of them, and we love it for it.
17:50Jason Halloran in eighth, and Joe Talbot have just been slightly detached from this group.
17:56Likewise, Charlie, Spud, Nesbitt.
17:59Yeah, don't worry about Joe Talbot.
18:00Joe Talbot there.
18:01The second group, look, he's second in that second group on the AJ and Steelstocks.
18:05Bemota, he's doing everything he needs to do.
18:07He is.
18:07Solid season.
18:08Everybody's pleasing him.
18:09He's trying to sneak up the inside of did see of a Halloran there.
18:12And he don't.
18:14More than a sneak.
18:15Mind your knee.
18:17Joe Talbot.
18:18What's been really impressive with Joe Talbot there, riding solo for AJ and Steelstock
18:22Bemota as well, is that he's not got carried away this weekend.
18:25No, and we have seen that just once this year from Joe.
18:29He knows he's doing well.
18:30People are telling him the whole time.
18:31Just keep doing what you're doing.
18:32Stay on the bike and learn.
18:35Bradley Ray putting on a move there at turn five on Danny Kent.
18:38So Ray up into fourth place.
18:40Leon Haslam, ever present on the Moto Rapido Ducati.
18:43I feel like I've just said that for about 20 years.
18:49Christian Idden coming up behind.
18:51But out front, it is Rory Skinner on the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha.
18:56A man who has been with five different manufacturers in the last five years of his racing.
19:02Charlie Nesbitt checking to the grass at Village as he gets by O'Halloran.
19:10They're all in the 15 sevens and 15 eights.
19:14This leading group of seven or eight.
19:16It's going to be close.
19:18Managers to get it stopped though, doesn't he?
19:20Yep.
19:22So over the line we go.
19:23Skinner on the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha.
19:26He wins this.
19:28He'll have won on a BMW two years ago.
19:32A Ducati last year and a Yamaha this year.
19:35Yep.
19:36Too many riders that have won three on different manufacturers.
19:40As car rides slides up the inside of Ryan Vickers.
19:44Yeah.
19:44And that's been one of the problems in my opinion for your leader Rory Skinner is
19:48every single five years five different manufacturers.
19:51That means five different sets of data.
19:54Five different ways you ride the bike and set it up.
19:57And that's that's a big ask.
19:59It is.
20:00It really is.
20:01This is all the group of riders and Brooks there in 15th.
20:04They're not a million miles back to be fair.
20:07Since he's got through on O'Halloran as well.
20:08Joe Talbot just starting to reel in Leon Haslam up ahead of him.
20:12This is the battle for second.
20:13Kyle Wright.
20:14Number one.
20:17Just ahead of Ryan Vickers.
20:19It's been a solid lap this from Rory Skinner.
20:20Yes, it has.
20:21But I tell you what, Kyle Wright, what he'll be doing, looking at his dash,
20:26because that'll give him the lap time every time he comes over the line.
20:28And he'll know whether that lap has used a lot of tyre or not.
20:32He said he can tell within a couple of tenths per lap,
20:35which is difficult when you're in a scrap, because you can lose a couple of tenths
20:38by having to run offline, because somebody's in front of you.
20:42Christian Hiddin is there as well, isn't he?
20:44Just behind Bradley Ray on that sky blue.
20:47Same cat racing Yamaha.
20:48Yep, number 21 there in the light blue.
20:51He's got himself ahead of Danny Kent and Leon Haslam.
20:54I don't know if Haslam made an error on that last lap.
20:56He's fallen back a bit through the complex.
20:59Bradley Ray now, a cheeky move, but nice through on Ryan Vickers to move up into third.
21:04Yep. Christian Hiddin having a little look there.
21:09Yeah, the Senkat team, Chris Barnes, love working with Christian,
21:14as all his teams always have done.
21:17Work ethic is second to none, Christian's.
21:20Fairly disappointing season.
21:22He could have seen himself when he got offered the second Bemota,
21:26which has worked out really well for Joe Tova, actually.
21:31And they're all mates. They're all good friends.
21:34It's weird. It's like you're taking somebody's job,
21:36and somebody else is taking yours every off-season.
21:39Bradley Ray, eyeing off a move on Kyle Wright.
21:43Going to go to the inside here on the brakes, down into the club chicane.
21:46They all bunch up, but no move made.
21:48Skinner still leads on the Cheshire Moulding Yamaha.
21:50Be really interesting to see if tyres are going to be a bigger issue for Rory Skinner,
21:56because he's been running out front and using a bit more of it.
21:59We're going to find out in about three or four laps.
22:01A number of teams, James, I've mentioned this a few times this weekend,
22:03who have been saying it's not just the rear that's the problem.
22:06It's the front.
22:06Yeah.
22:07Well, we're Skinner had quite a bit of wear on his front tyre yesterday in Park Firming.
22:11Yeah, the front is a lot more dependent on how...
22:15Ooh, it's Brad Raymond.
22:16Yep.
22:17Favourite move.
22:18The front is a lot more dependent on how you ride the bike.
22:21Some riders use a lot more front tyre, and some bikes do.
22:25Bradley Ray felt like yesterday he had enough tyre before that red flag came out.
22:29That's something important just to remember as well.
22:32Hopefully indicate you when two-thirds distance is up, because here at Thruxton,
22:36sometimes you can have a safety car.
22:37We saw a red flag yesterday as well.
22:39Yeah, I mean, obviously, if it's over two-thirds distance, it would be called a result.
22:43And if you want to be at the front at that point, but, you know,
22:46we hope for no red flags.
22:47And that's just how it works.
22:48Sometimes you benefit and sometimes you don't from that.
22:51Out of Church Corner, still Skinner out front, but now Bradley Ray up behind him.
22:55Good drive there from Kyle Wright in third as he now pulls up alongside Bradley Ray
22:59to retake second place from him.
23:01Ray's not having it, though, and closes the door on the approach to the chicane.
23:05That puts Brian Vickers slightly wide.
23:08In fourth.
23:08Ooh, is that a nudge there from Danny Kendall?
23:10Yes, it was.
23:13Joe Talbot as well has closed up onto the tail of this group.
23:17The rookie is up into seventh place now on the Bermota.
23:21Yep.
23:21Oh, that's lovely from Kyle.
23:23When we get that long shot coming up the straight, in inverted commas,
23:30from Church, just have a look.
23:32They're doing 195 miles an hour-ish, and the rears are still spinning,
23:36because there's still lots of rubber in laid down.
23:39And that's... I mean, you expect it here. Look, all those black lines from the rear...
23:43Oh, Charles!
23:44Just as we were speaking in, he's gone down into the complex.
23:48Yeah, that's the front end. It got to be.
23:50Doesn't look like there's a lot of damage at all.
23:52It just stopped his pace as well.
23:54He put in his fastest lap of the race,
23:55because he was trying to reel in that top six or seven.
23:58Polite round of applause, and you always get that from every crowd.
24:01They know what you're going through, and they've just seen what you've gone through.
24:05But if you just look, when the bikes...
24:07When it's the other head on, it's got to be a front end.
24:12Yeah.
24:12Yeah, that's it. Not a lot of damage to him, or the bike clings onto it.
24:16That's a good idea if you can, because it stops the bike flipping over and doing loads of damage.
24:21So we didn't see it, but even when these bikes are at their maximum speed around this circuit,
24:26there's rubber coming off the back tyre, which means it's sliding.
24:29Can you imagine?
24:31Madness, and then you've got to get the bike stopped down to about 55, yep,
24:36to get into the chicane, and you've probably got another weapon to the right of you,
24:39and another one to the left.
24:41We start lap 12 of 20.
24:44Skinner out, bro.
24:45Doing a good job over the last couple of laps at managing this one.
24:49Yeah, you've got to manage your tyres, you've got to know how much you are personally using,
24:52but also if you're in front, you get a little bit of an advantage in that,
24:56you can be on the bit of track you feel is best for you and your tyres.
25:00Saving your tyres, yeah.
25:00Yeah, when you're scrapping, sometimes you're offline, you know that,
25:03and sometimes you've got to open the throttle a bit more aggressively.
25:06You can see, he mentioned it earlier in the weekend that he's happier on the bike,
25:10and you can see with Rory when he's happy on the bike, he's got such a beautiful riding style.
25:14I was just going to say, it's a really lovely, natural riding style, been on bikes all his life,
25:19but he came to that Scottish Minibike Championship that provided quite a lot of decent riders,
25:24just a clutch of them, and he was about the best of them.
25:28Again, Bradley Ray now, it's his turn to get into the slipstream,
25:31but just defensive slightly there from Kyle Rye, so they all stay where they are.
25:35Ryan Vickers, Ryan Vickers.
25:36Vickers and Haslam make their moves to go up a spot and pushes Bradley Ray back one.
25:43In effect, this is all a little bit of chess, it's brilliant for us to watch,
25:47but they're all trying to place themselves for the last three or four laps whilst not using as much tyre.
25:52Yeah, and that's not what Brad Ray and Ryan Vickers are doing at this particular moment.
25:56No, it isn't, yeah, because you run offline, run a bit wider, you're going to use more tyre for sure.
26:02Really impressive the crowd, big turnout when you get the overhead shots, the drone shots,
26:06just look how many cars, campers, bikes, a lot of people on bikes this weekend.
26:11Yeah, it's brilliant, it's a good chance for them to see racing for the first time,
26:16many coming over from south-west of the country, Devon and Cornwall, South Wales as well.
26:23Further back here, this is Josh Brooks, number 25, 11, just ahead of Fraser Rogers,
26:28who seems to be quite happy with how things have gone this weekend,
26:32and then that's Eugene McManus in behind him as well, the rookie on the Master Mack Honda.
26:35Quite impressed with Eugene, took a big hit at Brand's action, it was a big hit, somewhat flew off there,
26:42I think it was a chunk of rubber picked up, the cars actually chuck a lot of rubber wide here,
26:49used for cars quite a lot, and they chuck big loads of big balls of rubber wide,
26:54you can pick it up on your tyres and it flicks up, you see many, many marks in the back
26:58of your
26:58underside of your seat because that's the rubber that's getting hit there.
27:02Our ride was forced a little bit wide there, into...
27:05Yeah, sorry, I was bashing on about stupid tyres, just slap me, all right.
27:13The complex, they're as close to Rory as they've been for a while.
27:16Yeah, and this just feels like it's building into something, doesn't it?
27:20There's a couple of potential passes there that the riders haven't elected to take there,
27:23and that to me says they're all happy they've caught, back up to Rory, they're in good position,
27:29and they're in a position where they could strike when they need to, but this isn't the time yet.
27:33Yeah, that's why I'm sort of saving my voice, James, I mean, we're about to come to lap 15.
27:37I've got strep cells in my back.
27:39Lap 15, it's just fizzing at the moment.
27:42You just know it's building, don't you?
27:44Yeah.
27:45Interesting line there from Ryan Vickers, and he's in on the act.
27:49It worked, you gained time there.
27:51Yeah.
27:56Ryan Vickers has lost his knee slider.
27:58Yeah, the thing that flew off might not have been rubber.
28:00Strike everything from the record, I said.
28:02It was his knee slider.
28:03Oh, now here comes the attack then.
28:05It's game on.
28:06Kyle Ryde is trying to look through, and he has to go straight up.
28:09He's gone wide.
28:11I'm surprised they all managed to stay upright there.
28:14That was potentially disastrous, was that.
28:17Kyle Ryde backed out with the move on Rory Skinner last minute.
28:20Yeah, did you see, when he went wide, he looked back.
28:23He took a look back to see.
28:24He wasn't going to, he wasn't.
28:25Watch this.
28:26Right.
28:30So, he's up the inside and nearly gets in the back.
28:33You have to sit that open because he didn't clip the back.
28:35Look, did you see that?
28:36Yeah.
28:37That, it did.
28:38This is Ryan Vickers in the background.
28:40Just watch his knee slider.
28:42Is that his knee slider?
28:44Yeah, well, it is, because he hasn't got one on.
28:46He hasn't got one on.
28:48He hasn't got one on.
28:50No, that's, that's...
28:51No, he's knee slider at several of them.
28:53No, I think that is his knee slider.
28:54It's part of it falling off, but pure.
28:56Yeah, yeah.
28:56Either way, he's up to third.
28:58He did very well in all of that.
29:00Not to go down himself, Ryan Vickers.
29:01Yeah, that was started because Kyle got a little bit close to the back end of Rory Skinner
29:05and had to back it out.
29:06Right, they're all upright now.
29:07Kyle Ryde will be keen to get through on Vickers,
29:09because he can see Bradley Ray eyeing up a move now on Rory Skinner as well.
29:12Still there are Leon Haslam and Danny Kent.
29:14Do not rule either of those out.
29:17Here comes Ray now with his move on Rory Skinner.
29:20Up the inside, but Rory's so late on the brakes and he closes the door again.
29:26Great line there for not getting overtaken by Rory Skinner.
29:29It's just that one.
29:30Over the line we go to start lap 16 of 20.
29:34Ray with that inside line on Rory Skinner.
29:36The door was just slightly ajar.
29:37Now is this Brad Ray, he said every single race this week and he said,
29:42I had loads of tyre left at the end, I could have gone.
29:44Now is this him going?
29:45We're about to find out Haslam with the fastest lap of the race at 15.491.
29:50They're all going for it now.
29:52It's false end for British superbike riders to try and get glory here at Drusland.
29:56Look at that last lap, fastest lap, their fastest lap, their fastest lap,
29:59and the fastest lap of the race by Haslam, like you said, brilliant.
30:02It's like, what have you got? Come with me if you can.
30:04We're going to find out, that's it.
30:05Bradley Ray then on the McCams Yamaha.
30:07Been wanting this victory here at Thruxton all weekend.
30:11Rory Skinner on the podium, full of confidence.
30:14Vickers, a new race winner, full of confidence.
30:17Car Ride, the championship leader.
30:19You've got Haslam.
30:20Danny Cope, nothing to lose as well.
30:23Car Ride, thought about moving to church.
30:26It's better of it.
30:28On the approach now to the club chicane once more.
30:31We're about to start lap 17 of 20.
30:33They're not close enough to make a move on Brad here.
30:37All right, just getting his leg out.
30:40He's pushing on.
30:41We know if he's got grip, there's nothing wrong with Brad Ray's pace.
30:43He's been on pole the last two races because of that.
30:47But he does need a tyre to do it.
30:48And he obviously feels like he's saved enough.
30:51Four laps to go here at Thruxton.
30:53Bradley Ray's another quickie slap for him.
30:55Yeah, a 15.505, 508 for Bradley Ray, your race leader.
31:01He's got a few bike lengths on Rory Skinner there.
31:04He's actually stretching him now a little bit, I think.
31:06Yeah.
31:06They're all on the limit trying to stay with him for what they've got left.
31:09And you can see how desperate Car Ride is to go through.
31:11And he does go through on Ryan Vickers.
31:14Vickers will try and get back through on the cutback.
31:16Smoking tyres and Vickers nudges his way back through again.
31:20But Kyle's having none of it.
31:21They almost touched that fast through Noble.
31:23Yeah, Kyle's keen not to get held up now.
31:25He doesn't need getting held up.
31:26I think Kyle feels he's got the pace now to get onto the front.
31:30And the tyre.
31:30Yep.
31:31Leon Haslam is also there.
31:33Ryan's big slide.
31:35That's cost him a little bit of time.
31:37That gives Leon Haslam a chance.
31:39Now watch this into church because Rory Skinner's actually close enough
31:41to get the draft on Bradley Ray.
31:43The number 11 in second place.
31:45And this might help Kyle and Vickers and Leon Haslam on the motor-rapeado Ducati.
31:50Skinner's got the inside line in the background there.
31:52Both Vickers and Haslam are having a look.
31:54There are moves for first, there are moves for third.
31:57Skinner leads from Ray.
31:58Vickers ahead of Ride again as we start 18th lap of the race.
32:03Three to go.
32:04Yep, nothing wrong with the speed of that Yamaha fire blade up the street.
32:07Again, nice move there.
32:09Vickers just keeps that door open into turn one.
32:12Will he retaliate down into the complex?
32:15He's going to have a look.
32:16Sets it up wide.
32:17Is he coming?
32:18Nope, Leon Haslam is.
32:21A little squirt on the gas there from Vickers.
32:24No, he can't get through.
32:25They're all bunching up and Danny Kent is still there.
32:28Just at the back of this group in sixth place.
32:30Has he got some tyre left?
32:32Yeah, well, Kyle Wright said he needed to be more aggressive.
32:35Well, we're just going to find out now.
32:38So it's Skinner who leads this one.
32:40Looking for his first win of the year ahead of Bradley Ray.
32:42I think Kyle Wright's got something here.
32:44If he doesn't get held up and get in a bit of a knife fight with anybody else.
32:48But certainly Ryan Vickers.
32:50Well, the trouble is he is in a fight.
32:51Yeah, yeah, yeah.
32:52I think he's going to be with him at the end of the straight.
32:55They're going into the chicane.
32:56How does this one shape up?
32:57Out of church there and into Brooklands.
32:59He's got a good drive.
33:00Oh, and Skinner had a bit of a wobble there on the rear end.
33:02They could be three or four abreast here on the approach to the chicane.
33:05This is going to be brilliant start.
33:07Where are they?
33:08Not sure.
33:08Here they are.
33:09Yeah.
33:10Vickers it is that has the lead now.
33:12How's that all worked out?
33:13Skinner's gone really wide.
33:15We didn't.
33:16We could have never seen that.
33:17I feel like we've turned a couple of pages.
33:20It's Vickers then that leads from Bradley Ray and Kyle Wright now.
33:23We start the penultimate lap of the race.
33:26Now then, there's going to be a move here.
33:27It could be a move from Kyle.
33:29No, we can't get through at turn two.
33:31Will there be a move into the complex?
33:33Oh, you can't go the long way round.
33:35That is a long way round.
33:37But Bradley Ray was eating a bit deep.
33:39He set it up for a big run at Brad Ray.
33:42That's it.
33:43Oh, no way.
33:44That's not going to work.
33:46So they go again.
33:47And that's allowed Rory Skinner to get a bit closer.
33:50It's like Twitch on the rear there from Kyle Wright as well.
33:52Yes, it was.
33:53Through Noble.
33:54It's Vickers on the Honda from the Yamaha of Ray.
33:57Ride on the Ducati.
33:58Then Skinner, Haslam.
34:00It looked like Ryan Vickers used all his tire up two laps ago.
34:04But he's going forward now.
34:06But it's Ryan Vickers.
34:07He bites the screen.
34:08Yeah, yeah, got you.
34:10True chat score now the penultimate lap.
34:12They're all bunched up together.
34:14This could be five or six abreast this time around.
34:17The tyres are smoking through Brooklands into the chicane.
34:22Defensive from Ryan Vickers.
34:24Ray would have to go the long way round.
34:26He was thinking about doing it.
34:28They stay as they are for now.
34:30Yeah, that Honda's a little bit quicker than the Yamaha.
34:32And that helped Ryan Vickers.
35:02We start the final lap of the race here at Trixton.
35:03Yes, me too.
35:04Ray, it is then.
35:05Has he got enough tire here to maybe get enough of a gap to pull away?
35:09Yeah, we're going to wonder what's happening with Jason Alden at the chicane.
35:13Yeah, it looks like it's cleared.
35:14Right, OK, here we go.
35:15The marshals have done a tremendous drop there.
35:17Straight fight to the line now.
35:18Or is any of these close enough to Bradley Ray?
35:21What a final lap he's put together here.
35:23Yeah.
35:23A big wobble from Ryan Vickers.
35:25That Honda's quick.
35:26Just watch this.
35:26If you can get in the slipstream, Ryan Vickers has got a chance at this.
35:29They're all going for it, but it feels like it's one or two here that could get it.
35:32Bradley Ray leads then.
35:33Can he hold it on?
35:35Sideways.
35:35That's cost him.
35:36Here comes Vickers.
35:37He's sliding it through and he takes the lead here into the chicane.
35:42Can he get the bike stopped?
35:44He can.
35:44Surely not.
35:45It's not going to be a double.
35:46He loses the front.
35:48And as the chequered flag comes out, he just gets over the line.
35:52He's done the double on the Honda.
35:54Ryan Vickers wins here.
35:59What a day they've had.
36:01Oh, what a day we've had.
36:04I cannot believe it.
36:05You cannot discount Ryan Vickers.
36:08No.
36:09We were saying earlier, he's a tenacious terrier.
36:12He's Ryan Vickers.
36:13He does not know when he's beaten.
36:16It did look like for all the money in the world, he'd run out of tyre.
36:21And he's pushed through it.
36:22That was four laps to go.
36:23It looked like that.
36:25Great ride.
36:25Incredible.
36:27Incredible from Ryan Vickers on the Honda as well.
36:32As he's down his dad.
36:33Yep.
36:34Some boy indeed.
36:39That's incredible.
36:41That is incredible.
36:44You know, he's got an Italian personal sponsor here with him.
36:47He's never been to a BSB event.
36:48He's here this weekend.
36:50They've nicked his passport.
36:51They've said you're going to come to every round.
36:53They've torn it up.
36:54Well, I've got to say I'm disappointed.
36:56It's over now.
36:57Yeah.
36:57I've got...
36:58You know when you come home from a good holiday, I feel like that.
37:00I'm on...
37:01Declared.
37:01Lucky for you, you've only got an hour's flight.
37:03Yeah, true.
37:04What a race that was.
37:05Brilliant.
37:06You can't knock any of that leader on any of them.
37:08No, no.
37:08You have to just applaud every single one of them.
37:11Every one of them.
37:12They're warriors.
37:13And they have put on some show for us.
37:15Yeah.
37:16Here this weekend at Truxton.
37:18And ultimately, with Scott Redding out, remember, Kyle Ride third.
37:23Still good for the championship.
37:24He's going to increase that lead overall heading into Cadwell Park.
37:28You know, not often do you hear in a media center after a race,
37:32spontaneous applause.
37:34Yeah.
37:34From the gathered members of the press and media.
37:38And every single race has had it this weekend.
37:40Yeah.
37:41It's been incredible.
37:42Yep.
37:43Oh, Truxton.
37:44You beautiful, beautiful sergeant.
37:49Well, well, well.
37:51Honda had not won here since 2019.
37:54And at the double is Ryan Vickers.
37:56He did the double here a couple of years ago when he was on the Yamaha.
38:02He won on the Sunday, both races.
38:03Funnily enough, Kyle Ride won on the Saturday that day as well.
38:06And that's when they were teammates.
38:09Leon Haslam.
38:10No shame in finishing fourth in that race.
38:13Not at all.
38:14Right with the lap of the race.
38:18Wow.
38:19Incredible stuff.
38:20James, what a weekend we've had.
38:22Every single race.
38:24Yep.
38:26Next stop, of course, we're on to the mountain.
38:30Yeah, very, very different circuit in terms of nature.
38:37Celebration here.
38:39There's a good crowd there in the grandstands.
38:41Nice festival atmosphere and a nice burnout.
38:47Celebration for Honda.
38:48They have been through it this year.
38:50Yeah, he's good at the stunts.
38:51His dad, Paul, you know, was a stunt rider.
38:52Did you know that?
38:53I did not know that.
38:54Yeah, big 150 mile an hour wheelie man.
38:57Guinness Booker records attempts and all that.
38:59Brilliant stuff here.
39:01Vickers, who should have been in World Superbike again.
39:03Luckily for us, Honda poached him.
39:06And they had it tough at the start of the year.
39:09No top six at the first round at Alton Park.
39:12And they knew they were in trouble.
39:13No top seven at Donington the round after that.
39:16And then from Knock Hill onwards, Vickers has been digging deep.
39:20It's not just that, he's ridden brilliantly.
39:22He's not complained about anything when it hasn't gone his way.
39:24He's been, he's just been a brilliant bloke to sort of interview and work with him.
39:31Just hang on, I stand there.
39:33You know the problem there, they don't have any luck.
39:36Do you think they're chuffed?
39:38Asiah's mechanic there, yeah.
39:40And they should be.
39:41Because, James, it's not just him that's been down in the doldrums.
39:44It's the whole lot of the Neville working tirelessly.
39:47Yeah, yeah, yeah, yep.
39:53Let's have a look here and see what happened to Jason O'Halloran there.
39:57Christian Hiddin has gone through.
39:58That was late.
39:59Ah, he, it, but Jason was a little bit wide.
40:04And that sort of offered Christian Hiddin.
40:06And again, just another one in that chicane where it happens, doesn't it?
40:09Yeah, and that's it.
40:09I mean, when you get a brilliant piece of track that gives us exceptional finishes,
40:15you're going to get that.
40:17That's a feature, isn't it?
40:18Well, you can vote for Army Be The Best Award, your rider of the round.
40:23And it's up to you to vote.
40:24You can scan that QR code now.
40:26But if it doesn't go to this one.
40:27I'm just going to say, however.
40:28I'll be quite disappointed in you.
40:30We implore you.
40:35Yeah, you can scan now and vote for your rider of the round.
40:37But he's certainly ours.
40:39And there's a lot of respect for him here as well.
40:42I think from the other riders, you know.
40:44Let's get the results of standing zoom for you.
40:47Double delight for RV.
40:51Vickers takes glory again.
40:53Seven hundredths of a second clear of Bradley Ray.
40:56He's had a top weekend in all fairness.
40:57Kyle Ride third ahead of Haslam, Skinner, and Kent.
41:00The Cheshire Mouldings boys can be proud of their efforts this weekend.
41:03Nesbitt seventh on the tag on the good job to Spud on home turf.
41:08Eden was eighth.
41:09They had a Brooks.
41:10It's his first top ten of the weekend.
41:11And Eugene McManus as well up inside the top ten.
41:14Rogers, Glenn Irwin, Lee Jackson, Reece Irwin and Graham Irwin took the remaining points.
41:20And on to the championship standings.
41:22It's one round left of the regular season before the points ramp up.
41:27But going into Cadwell Park, 47 up on Scott Reddy.
41:31This hasn't been a bad weekend for Kyle Ride, all things considered.
41:34Not at all.
41:35Bradley Ray has cut that gap slightly.
41:36He's 91 adrift.
41:37That's quite a long way.
41:39He's third ahead of Leon Haslam and Ryan Vickers.
41:42He's actually closing in on that battle.
41:44Skinner's up to sixth now ahead of Max Cook.
41:46Hidden eighth.
41:46Then Glenn Irwin and Storm Stacey.
41:50Joe Talbert still in 11th despite a tumble there.
41:54Danny Kent's moved up to 12th ahead of Lee Bob Jackson.
42:05All right, so then we're off for a quick break here and a breather.
42:09It's needed.
42:10And then we're going to hear from the double winner, Ryan Vickers.
42:13There's his knee slider.
42:14It's pretty much split in half, which is incredibly odd.
42:17Seen that before.
42:19Yeah, it's when you clobber down the curb.
42:20Yeah.
42:21Let's get to a break.
42:22We'll see you in a few minutes.
42:28Well, we wondered if this afternoon's feature race could be anything like as entertaining
42:32as the sprint race earlier.
42:33And it was another superb performance, though, from Ryan Vickers.
42:37Timed his run perfectly into the final corner once again to take his second win of the day
42:43and of the season as well.
42:45Brilliant performance from Ryan, from Brad Ray and from Kyle Ryde,
42:48who extends his lead at the top of the championship with third place here this afternoon.
42:52He's talking to Shane.
42:56Kyle Ryde, what a performance.
42:59Another podium.
43:00We just spoke off camera.
43:01You told me about how much you're putting into this, how much you're thinking about it.
43:04It was a special race for you, though.
43:05You want to dedicate it to someone.
43:06Tell us all about it.
43:07Yeah, I had it in my thoughts yesterday, but I completely forgot.
43:12Silly me.
43:13But I'd just like to dedicate yesterday's win and today's third place.
43:16I've been on this podium to Bomber, who lives in my village.
43:18Sadly, his wife passed away a few days ago.
43:21So that's for you, Bomber.
43:22And I'll spray some champagne for you, mate.
43:24Lovely sentiments, mate.
43:25We'll see you at Cabo Park.
43:26Cheers, mate.
43:27Right.
43:28In second place then, coming in now, Bradley Ray.
43:30Bradley, I've got to say, I thought you had that done on one in the last lap,
43:34but it must have surprised you a little bit when a Honda popped up the inside into the last chicane.
43:38Yeah, to be honest, I knew that was going to happen all race.
43:42Every time I got to the front, I'd get sucked back down that back straight.
43:46Nothing I could do.
43:46Even when I had good tyre, they still managed to get past me.
43:49But when I was behind Ryan and when I was behind Kyle, I could sit there,
43:53but I could never overtake.
43:54I could never get past.
43:55So I knew on that last lap, normally you don't want to lead on the last lap round here,
43:59but it was my only chance.
44:01If I stayed behind Ryan on the last lap, then Kyle would have drafted me for third.
44:04So I had to try and put a good couple of sectors in by church.
44:08Had a little bit of a spin up out of there and just felt myself getting sucked back.
44:12And I thought, oh no, but that's it.
44:15We've done the best we could.
44:17Overall, pretty happy, but would have been nice to get the win for the boys.
44:20But yeah, two podiums today and we're rolled on to Cadwell.
44:23Look forward to seeing you there, Bradley.
44:24Well done. Congratulations.
44:26Right then, race three winner.
44:29Trying to peel off what's left of his right hand knee side.
44:32I don't know if the cameraman can get down and show you.
44:34Look, Ryan's done a bit of a number on his knee slide around here at Thruxton,
44:38but I'm sure the win bonuses from Honda will pay for a new knee slide
44:42and a new set of gold clubs.
44:43Ryan, what a performance.
44:44Congratulations.
44:45Yeah.
44:45Thanks, Jakey.
44:47What a dream.
44:48Never thought that was going to happen.
44:50But yeah, we lost for words, honestly.
44:53What a fantastic job Honda Racing have done.
44:55They've given me a great bike.
44:57I've been able to work on my race craft this weekend and it's really paid dividends.
45:01I felt like I rode every race really well, perfectly, to be honest.
45:05And that's down to the guys giving me a great bike.
45:07All the belief all this season, all of my personal sponsors.
45:11Honestly, thanks so much for all the belief, the fans, everyone.
45:14It's been a long time coming and I think we deserve this nice weekend.
45:19I want to know how you saw through that visor with all them stickers on it.
45:22Yeah, I know.
45:22Yeah.
45:23Just one eye open.
45:24Wait till we take it off, Jakey.
45:27Fantastic performance, Ryan.
45:28It's Honda's home track as well.
45:29Cadwell Park next time out.
45:30You looking forward to that one?
45:31Yeah, absolutely.
45:32It's one of my favorite tracks.
45:33You know, guys, I'm a motocrosser from when I was a kid
45:37and I absolutely love the mountain and love the atmosphere at Cadwell.
45:39And it's been a track where I've had quite good success in the past.
45:42So let's see if we can get the Honda working there.
45:44Can't wait to see that.
45:44Good luck.
45:45Thank you very much.
45:46Cheers.
45:47Well, if he rides anything like as well as he has done here at Thruxton
45:50and for most of the season, to be fair, at Cadwell, he's going to be a real force.
45:55Again, on the limit and sometimes over the limit to make sure of the win.
45:58It's been exceptional.
45:59It lost the front three or four times in one lap.
46:02And I mean, you know, I cannot explain how fine the control is
46:07not to just go skittling down the road at that point.
46:10Fantastic.
46:11Yeah.
46:12And I mean, you've got to remember, at Cadwell Park, he loves Cadwell Park.
46:15He's done brilliant there in the past to hit this form just before Honda.
46:19Obviously, they're based in Laos just down the road, so it really bodes well.
46:23But I'm more impressed with, you watched how that Honda behaved
46:26earlier on in the season.
46:27It was chattering.
46:28It was bucking.
46:29It was throwing them all over the place.
46:31And he's worked so hard, him and the team.
46:33And they've got what looks like a really good motorcycle now.
46:36That's just due to hard work.
46:37Incredibly impressive.
46:38It is.
46:39When we saw what we saw at Snatterton around Corrums, unreal.
46:44Well, you wait seven rounds for a win and then two come along on the same day.
46:51This ability to ride out the limit and manage it, not that many riders can do it.
46:56The ones that do tend to be at the top.
46:58We just saw four or five of them there, but that was special.
47:00Yeah, this is what Roger Marshall was talking about when he said he spotted this talent at
47:04a young age, went to Roger Burnett, said, we've got to look after this kid.
47:07You see him sort of, he looks like he crashes three or four times in one corner and keeps it
47:11up.
47:11Well, actually, when he first got, he was sort of fast-tracked into Superbike, into BSB,
47:16straight from stock six, which is, for the youngsters, 600cc, half as much power.
47:21He took a bit of learning and he took a few knocks and he did a bit of damage.
47:24But once he's learned his trade, honestly, he has a little bit of something.
47:29We've seen it coming this year.
47:30We know how hard he's been riding that bike and the bike is just about coming to meet him now,
47:34I think, with a bit of luck.
48:18Brilliant stuff. Well done again to Ryan Vickers.
48:21Let's just touch briefly on the championship. James, bigger picture.
48:25A weekend that looked like it could be swinging the way of Scott Redding has ended up going the other
48:29way back to Kyle Ride again.
48:31Yeah, listen, it was unfortunate. He had that little sort of touch early on in the race with O'Halla
48:36and
48:36it was just one of those racing incidents, you know, the early doors. It's just packed.
48:40You're all peeling in. You don't necessarily know exactly where each other were and it was a little touch.
48:45Down he went. And, you know, it was a big shame. He was annoyed. He was disappointed.
48:49And, of course, he will be. But this is the incident. And it's just done. Thankfully, I mean,
48:54everyone does incredibly well. Irwin gets the worst of it. But there's a pill in here.
48:58They're burying for the same piece of tarmac. There's no maliciousness in it. It's really unfortunate
49:03for Scott. You know, no one wants to see it. But, listen, you can just see it there in the
49:08background.
49:10But it really wasn't anyone's... There was no malice of false thought there whatsoever.
49:15It's weird that O'Halloran actually was the kind of instigator of that, but it was a racing incident.
49:20And then exactly the same happened to O'Halloran late in the race with Eden. But, I mean, racing incident.
49:26Yeah. OK. Work to do then for Scott Redding next time out at Cadwell Park. The last round,
49:31of course, before the showdown. Right.
