00:00Cheers boys, I will second what Matt just said, you've got to watch the sport bike race, it was a
00:05cracker for a lot of reasons.
00:06Right, I've come back to row three because I wanted to speak to this man, this is Lee Bob Jackson.
00:11You get a little bit of a sort of telling off from most of the teams, oh you haven't spoken
00:15to my rider for a bit,
00:16and you don't do that, you tend to obviously gravitate to other people who are having a good time and
00:21winning at that time,
00:22but you had a bit of a resurgence ride yesterday, so I've come to speak to you. We've missed you,
00:28Lee Bob.
00:29Yeah, it's been a tough old year and yesterday I got a good start and obviously a bit of a
00:33mishap for a few riders,
00:34but I stood in the lead group and I felt pretty good and obviously here at Cadwell Park, the local
00:38track,
00:39we're not just putting a show on here, I've been riding hard all year, it's just not come together,
00:42so hopefully another good show today, obviously Cadwell's tricky to pass, but I feel like we've got a good pace
00:47and if we can get a good start we'll be back in the mix.
00:49You'll make a good start and good luck Lee Bob.
00:51Cheers James, thanks mate.
00:52Right, it's a really short gridlock, but I want to just a quick word with this fella,
00:57that this is Joe Tolbert, he was having a storming ride, right behind the leading bunch,
01:02definitely within chance of getting a fourth or even a third if things had gone his way,
01:07didn't get that chance because he got swiped by Ryan Vickers, no he didn't do it on purpose,
01:10you're all good friends again, but same again, I saw you off the line yesterday,
01:14you tried a sneaky run down the outside didn't you?
01:16Yeah I did, and we're going to try that one again, yeah good start is the aim of the game,
01:23see what we can do, pace will be fast, some nice weather now, so just see and learn and lap
01:28by lap.
01:29Good luck Joe.
01:31Right, as I said it's quite a short one, so Rick, if you want to come with me, right,
01:35we've got about one and a half minutes left, we've got to speak to this man because he was absolutely
01:40splendid,
01:41Stuart, how are you doing? I don't know what to say, very, very good, A star.
01:48Yeah, try and do the same again is what we did yesterday, I think Jamie, it's, yeah, try and get
01:52it off the line again,
01:53if we could do what we did yesterday, it'll be alright.
01:56Can I ask you, what were you feeling when you had that gap and you were able to manage it,
01:58they closed you down a bit, then you had the, you knew, you looked at your board, you went away
02:02again,
02:03must have been enjoying every minute of that.
02:05It was good, enjoy it, I don't know, it was quite nerve wracking to be honest, but yeah, it's fine,
02:10it's been a while since I've had such a lead in a dry race and I, yeah, just thought,
02:13if I do something stupid now, I'm never going to be able to forgive myself, so,
02:17could have eased off a little bit when I saw I had a gap and then went maybe a little
02:19bit too much,
02:21but I saw the gap come down, put a hammer down, put a little bit more time back into the
02:24boys behind
02:24and it was fine, but today's going to be totally different to yesterday, everyone's had overnight to improve,
02:28so, hey, we're in the same boat, we've made some changes too, so hopefully it goes in the right direction.
02:33Alright.
02:33Thank you very much.
02:34Right, we haven't got a lot of time left now, 40 seconds, so I'm going to do, I'm going to
02:38go across,
02:39he's got his ailment on actually, so, and he actually slid off, made a little bit of a mistake
02:43and the punishment didn't never fix the crime round Cadwell, so we're not going to speak to Brad Ray,
02:47we've got 30 seconds left on a quick word with Kyle Ryder, he's been very relaxed about getting
02:52kitted up and getting his ailment on, Kyle, great championship sort of ride for you yesterday,
02:56feeling any better, I know you've been a bit ill.
02:58Not really, could be worse, I'm not being sick, so I don't feel sick,
03:04it's just, I can't really stomach any food or water, which is not ideal when you're riding around,
03:09the most physical track in the UK, so, no, 12 laps, I'll dig deep here and see what I can
03:14do.
03:14Good luck.
03:15Cheers, mate.
03:15That's it, 12 lap, it'll be even more exciting than yesterday,
03:19because everybody's going to have a go at this one.
03:22Thanks, James, yep, ride is as ready as he can be and Rory is raring to go,
03:28there are scores to settle literally after that attritional race one,
03:32it should be a belter, BSB race two is coming up next.
03:42The sun was shining again on the second day of action here at round eight of the British Superbike
03:47Championship at Cadwell Park and after a victory in the opening race on Sunday for Rory Skinner,
03:53bank holiday Monday, saw Bradley Ray start from pole position for race two
03:58after a penalty was given to Ryan Vickers for his role in a crash that also involved Joe Tolbert.
04:04Could he make up for it then when the lights went out for the second race of three this weekend?
04:08Let's find out in the company of our commentary team, James Whittam and Steve Day.
04:13Eyes on the lights and off we go again, Ryan Vickers gets an amazing start on his red Honda.
04:21He trashed the HM Park colour scheme yesterday and from the second row he gets the whole shot
04:25up the hill into turn one, now into Charlie's ahead of Rory Skinner.
04:29Yeah, that seems fair enough because he should have been pulled before the three position penalty,
04:34so good on him and he's an ex-motocrosser, which ex-motocrosser can't start by the old car?
04:38Yeah, brilliant stuff then from Vickers here, of course, this is a home circuit for Honda,
04:43their base just down the road, it's tricky here in St Park, we saw a lot of crashes here yesterday.
04:50They'll make it through though it seems on this occasion,
04:53because it is then that leads from Skinner, who must be buoyed by that brilliant result that he had here
04:58yesterday.
04:58Absolutely, he's a rider who thrives on confidence, they all do, and no more so than him, he's loving this.
05:05Just in the background there, Jason O'Halloran making a move down into Mansfield, I think on Lee Jackson.
05:10I think that's really cost them all a bit of time, Storm Stacey's in there with him as well.
05:14He was having a little bit of a look at picking up some pieces there, wasn't he?
05:18So into the mountain for the first time.
05:20Ryan Vickers then, watch this over the top of the hill, we just missed that one, but he does get
05:24some air, does Vickers?
05:25Yeah, there's little time to begin there, but he is stupendous over there.
05:30Again, motocrossers, they all know how to handle the bike in the air, and he can.
05:34Vickers looking to check out, remember, a couple of years ago on a Yamaha,
05:38he tried to check out a bit too quickly, and crashed out at turn one.
05:42In a year when he fell off three or four times, whilst leading and going away, he's a different rider
05:47now.
05:47Oh, he is, yes, I can't breathe with that.
05:49What an amazing first lap, though, from Ryan Vickers.
05:52He's the only rider in the 130s from a standing start.
05:55There's Kyle Wright, the championship leader in form.
05:58I get the feeling, if they can come away from here today, with even just a couple of fifth places,
06:02they'll take it.
06:03I spoke to the team earlier.
06:04Tommy Hill said, Kyle's been so ill this weekend, they were considering putting a natty on him ready for this
06:10one.
06:10Yeah, that's, it's, it's, yeah, oh, hang on.
06:13That's Eugene.
06:14That's Eugene McManus, yes, it is.
06:15Eugene McManus is down and out, up on his feet.
06:18Quick check on Danny Bucken, of course, he's riding here this weekend.
06:21He's up a couple of places, having lost one or two on the opening lap.
06:25He's the 20th at the moment.
06:27Yeah, like you said, I think Kyle Wright and the team will be happy to come away from here with
06:32maintaining the lead in the championship.
06:34And he always seems to be able to do that.
06:36And that might not be difficult here today either, because Scott Redding is struggling.
06:39He's down at 13.
06:40Yeah, this is the place where he and everybody else would expect him to be struggling a little bit.
06:45Oh, pushing the front end there, it's Bradley Wright.
06:48In third, the approach to the mountain.
06:51You know, you've got to take it after Bradley in a lot of ways.
06:53He's generally this year being the fastest man on the Yamaha.
06:57But he's still prepared to push on to the limit and sometimes beyond.
07:01And I know people are going to criticise him for that, but not me.
07:04You know, sometimes you're on a bike that isn't the best on the grid.
07:07It looks like it is one of the best bikes here, but it hasn't been in other places.
07:11And he's quite prepared to stick his neck on the line here.
07:13Yeah, I think the same could be said for the two ahead of him.
07:16I think it is now, but he's been the one that's been...
07:18Oh, yeah.
07:18Yeah.
07:19And he's just put in the fastest lap of the race as well.
07:21That's a 26 flat from Bradley Wright in third position.
07:27Far right then, still there in fourth.
07:30They head out of Charlie's and onto the back straight.
07:33Yeah, historically this place has always been a little bit of a Yamaha
07:35or even Honda circuit.
07:37Honda's done a bit of winning.
07:38Even last year, when the bike was a little bit uncompetitive,
07:42they had Andy Irwin.
07:43And he was having a sort of lackluster season from his point of view.
07:47He was a second-dise point scorer of the weekend.
07:50Yeah, Tommy Bridewell, of course, a race winner on the Honda here as well.
07:54Down the hill into Mansfield.
07:56Number seven, Ryan Vickers.
07:57It is that Leeds, twice a winner at Thruxton.
08:00Two weeks ago, then Skinner.
08:01Man on the move is Kyle Wright here in fourth.
08:05Closed that gap, hasn't he?
08:07Yep.
08:07In the nitrous competitions, Ducati.
08:09Behind him then is Leon Haslam.
08:12On the podium again for him yesterday.
08:14And then Talbot, the rookie, in sixth.
08:18With O'Halloran, Jackson, Cook and Stacey rounding up the top ten.
08:22Thru, Hall-Benz.
08:23Joe Talbot said in the incident yesterday when Ryan Vickers,
08:26sometimes when somebody knocks you off,
08:28you can hear the bike come in, the scraping, whatever.
08:30You can even see them sometimes when they barge up the inside.
08:33He said, I didn't know a thing.
08:35One minute he's quite happily riding his poor bike
08:37and the next thing he's up in the air.
08:39It was unfortunate, really, wasn't it?
08:41It's just one of those incidents.
08:42Yeah, and he knows that.
08:44Yep.
08:46Another 26.1 there from Vickers out front with Rory Skinner tracking him.
08:50These are quick times, as we would expect from the sprint race.
08:54Well, good drive there from Rory.
08:55Is he going to have the chance here to make a move on the approach to Park Corner?
08:59There's nothing wrong with the speed of that Honda.
09:01We've seen that all year.
09:02And that is the problem.
09:03And to defend into Park Corner, you don't really have to go right to the inside.
09:07All you've got to do is go about three or four feet in from the left-hand side
09:12because then it makes the rider trying to get up the inside for Park on a big curve.
09:17And you can't hit the brakes when your bike's leant over.
09:21He's going to have to try somewhere else.
09:23Here is Rory.
09:23And a hill into Mansfield.
09:25That can be an overtaking opportunity.
09:27And you can see good mid-corner speed from both Yamaha riders.
09:31And that's what you would expect from that bike.
09:32It's a rider's bike.
09:34It always has been.
09:34Never been the quickest.
09:36Never been the talkiest.
09:37But people generally can ride it around a circuit,
09:40especially when they've got no sort of traffic to deal with.
09:42Yeah, lovely that, isn't it?
09:44Looks so good.
09:45Not necessarily the fastest way over it.
09:47I don't think it is because when the bike's in the air,
09:48it's actually slowing down.
09:50But he's putting on a show.
09:51Yeah.
09:52Oh, Glenn Irwin.
09:53Again, that's...
09:55Yeah.
09:56Looks like a front-ender at the bottom of the mountain there.
09:59And, yeah, he's shaking his head.
10:00And well he might because his season's just a disaster so far for a lot of reasons.
10:05Yeah, front-end.
10:08Yeah, things just cannot get going, can they?
10:10Can't find any momentum at all.
10:12The hurt there is emotional, I can tell you.
10:14Not physical.
10:16Full lad.
10:17Real shame for Glenn Irwin, unfortunately.
10:20Oh!
10:21We've got to follow Skinner.
10:22That's Skinner.
10:23Skinner's gone down at Charlie's.
10:25I'll tell you what he's done, there's a real, there's a bump right there.
10:29And he's claimed a few over the years.
10:30And he would have been keen to get on the gas early as well.
10:32That's it, the mid-corner speed from Skinner's been brilliant.
10:35And that's what's caught him out.
10:37Oh, what a shame for Rory.
10:39Yeah.
10:40A big big front-end.
10:41Yeah, that's a bad one.
10:42And Charlie's is one of those corners you don't even feel to be going that quick until something happens and
10:47then you realise you are going quick.
10:51I see again then, Ryder in second place.
10:53Second back in shot.
10:55Yeah, front-end.
10:57Oh.
10:58And that's a lot of damage, yeah.
11:00It was a little bit wide, wasn't it, as well?
11:02Just a tiny bit wide.
11:06And that's the reaction from Steve Plater.
11:08Celebrations yesterday, unfortunately, down and out.
11:12We start the penultimate lap of the race.
11:13Out front is Vickers and Ray.
11:16Then a lonely car ride in third.
11:18Here is Ray.
11:19Now, it's here, isn't it, where he's got to start building, but it's hard.
11:22It is hard with the machinery they're on.
11:25However, you've got to wonder how hard Ray, what he's going to put on the line here.
11:31I'm knowing him, everything, but he shouldn't.
11:34No, he's certainly not going to want to throw it down the road again.
11:37That's for sure.
11:37He's a bit hot into Parker, though.
11:40Just skating in.
11:41The rear's locking up.
11:42It's coming round.
11:43And all the time, you know when you see a rider aim for the apex, that he's left his braking
11:48a little bit too late.
11:50Right, because they're sliding around Chris Kerb.
11:52Is he starting just to run out of a little bit of grip in the closing stages of this one?
11:57He's been pushing hard in this race so far, so this one is not over.
12:03Just hearing Christian Hiddens just gone grass tracking.
12:06That is still upright.
12:08I don't think there's any sandbagging at the front here.
12:10I think this is what they've got.
12:13Yeah.
12:15Over the mountain.
12:17These two have broken away from Kyle Ryde.
12:20He won't mind that.
12:21Which one of these two takes victory?
12:23We're about to start the final lap.
12:24It's been a good response in the second half of the lap.
12:27From Vickers.
12:27Yes, he has.
12:28Your race leader.
12:29Looked like they're a move coming from Bradley this time.
12:31Last lap.
12:32Well, we're about to find out whether or not Bradley Ray is willing to risk something.
12:37Because it looks like he's going to have to, to get past Vickers as we start the last lap on
12:41the sprint race.
12:42Yeah, I think it'll be a massive risk if he has a go here.
12:46His best chance coming up shortly.
12:49Bottom of your screen there.
12:50This is Iden just going straight on at Park Corner.
12:53That looks like another mechanical to me, to be honest.
12:55Oh, it does, doesn't it?
12:56Yeah.
12:56Ray here.
12:57Can he get in the slipstream of Ryan Vickers?
12:58He's not close enough.
13:00Not close enough.
13:01But Ryan does go slightly defensive.
13:06Where's his next chance, James?
13:08There's one chance left, really.
13:09Bottom of the mountain, but I don't think they'll have there.
13:12But if you get really close through all bends, maybe there's a block pass on.
13:16Ryan, he's literally smoking the tyre of Anker's kerb.
13:20So down at the bottom of the hill here, that's not going to work either.
13:24Bottom of the mountain is another one.
13:26Bottom of the mountain, sorry, and then the hairpin.
13:27Hairpin is the last chance saloon, and I don't think it's going to happen.
13:30No, Ryan's really strong through all bends as well.
13:32Yeah.
13:32Well, they both are, really, but he's not put a foot wrong so far.
13:35Barring any mistakes, this should be Vickers.
13:37He won two races at Truxton two weeks ago.
13:40He should have been on, really, for a podium yesterday.
13:42He flies over the hill at the top of the mountain and through Hall Benz.
13:48Right?
13:48Not close enough to have a look.
13:51This should be in the bag.
13:52Defensive from Vickers into the hairpin.
13:55That doesn't matter.
13:56The flag is out.
13:57What a ride this has been from the second row of the grid.
13:59From fourth, RV7 wins again.
14:04Vickers takes victory at Cadwell.
14:06Ahead of Ray.
14:07Kyle Ryde, championship leader, does what he needs to do.
14:11He's third ahead of Haslam, Talbot, Halloran, Cook and Jackson.
14:15Brilliant for Vickers.
14:16Brilliant for the team.
14:17What a great ride.
14:19You look at people like Ryan Vickers and Rory Skinner and they haven't quite been on the right machinery at
14:23times, but they've had a good go and they're showing their class and their talent.
14:27Let's get the results and standings in then.
14:29Vickers, Ray and Ryde.
14:30You're 1-2-3 here at Cadwell, ahead of Leon Haslam.
14:32Joe Talbot, fifth place for him.
14:34That's his best result of the season so far.
14:36He's had a handful of top sixes.
14:38Never been in fifth.
14:39A Halloran, solid six for him ahead of Cook.
14:42Lee Jackson was eighth, Scott Redding ninth and Danny Kent just inside the top ten.
14:47Onto the championship standings then is indeed 58 points.
14:50The difference between Kyle Ryde and Scott Redding with just one race to go here at Cadwell and of course
14:55the points ramp up for the next round.
14:57Bradley Ray, 105 down, but in a solid third at the moment.
15:01And Vickers is starting to reel in Leon Haslam as well.
15:05He's fifth in the championship.
15:06What a performance.
15:07A load of pressure there, Ryan.
15:08And got to the front, maintained the position at the front and yeah, quite a faultless race.
15:13Yeah, fantastic.
15:14I couldn't believe my jump off the line.
15:16It was unbelievable.
15:17Yeah, to go from P4 to P1 was fantastic.
15:20Did you hear about your jump start?
15:22Yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:23I'm joking.
15:24That's impressive.
15:26No, it almost felt like that.
15:28I timed it perfect.
15:29Got a great launch.
15:30Bike stayed on the floor and got into the lead and I knew what I had to do then.
15:33I just wanted to set a good clean few laps, not get past.
15:36And, you know, I thought Brad would have more pace.
15:39I think he did probably if he was on his own.
15:41But I just defended where I needed to, played it smart and used the advantage of the bike that I
15:47had off the straights and stuff like that to hold that win to the end.
15:51So really, really fantastic start to Monday here and a bounce back from yesterday.
15:57It's fantastic.
15:57So, yeah, thanks to everyone.
15:58Thanks to the team.
15:59Built a fantastic bike again there and we'll go again this afternoon.
16:05Redemption for Ryan Vickers in race two then here at Cadwell Park.
16:09An epic win for him and for Honda.
16:12But the king of the mountain title still up for grabs with race three on the way.
16:50A roller coaster.
16:51A roller coaster of a weekend here at Cadwell Park.
16:53So Rory Skinner take the win in race one and then crash out of race two.
16:57It was the reverse case scenario for Ryan Vickers who was victorious in that second race.
17:02And Bradley Ray had been fastest really throughout the weekend over one lap.
17:06He would start on pole position for race three for the third time.
17:10Could he take that first win though?
17:11Let's find out with Steve and James.
17:14Eyes on the lights for the last race of the weekend.
17:17It's another fine rocket start from Ryan on the Honda.
17:21He's going to get the whole shot once again.
17:24P1 for Ryan Vickers, James.
17:26Yeah, that's exactly what he needed if he's going to go and do what he did in the last race.
17:30What a good starting mate there.
17:31But he does.
17:32That's what he does.
17:33I don't know whether they practice.
17:35It's not that easy to get it right every single time.
17:38But he seems to do it.
17:39Kyle Ryan's now in the slipstream already on Brad Ray.
17:42And they might be side by side on the approach to park.
17:43They are.
17:44Kyle's coming through.
17:46Does he hold his line?
17:47It was neat.
17:47It was tidy.
17:48That was lovely from the championship leader.
17:50Yeah, at a point on the track that he's so difficult to be that neat and tidy
17:54if you're going up the inside of somebody of the quality of Brad Ray.
17:57I mean, I thought Brad Ray was going for an audacious look up the inside of Chris Kerb there.
18:02Yeah, you would have to think number 11, Rory Skinner, will be...
18:06Is that Joe Tolbert?
18:08Yes, it is.
18:08Yes, it is.
18:10Made it stick just about.
18:11They didn't quite run out of room.
18:13But he goes ahead of Danny Kent.
18:14Max Cook, his teammate behind.
18:15I know Joe Tolbert's really keen on getting away with the leading bunch.
18:19He thinks he can do something and run the pace.
18:21And we'd agree.
18:22Yeah, absolutely.
18:23Danny Kent now just lost all momentum into the chicane.
18:25And that's allowed Max Cook through.
18:27So Cook, and I don't know how Cook is riding this weekend with the injuries that he's got
18:32after the impact that he had over at Thruxton.
18:35Typical of a BSP or any at this level road racer.
18:39He smiles and says he's okay.
18:41But you can tell the way he's moving.
18:42He is in pain.
18:43Went from 107 miles an hour to a complete stop when he hit the barriers.
18:48In the distance or in, what, about a metre of Recticel.
18:52Unbelievable.
18:53Ryan Vickers then, just as he did earlier, gets out front and leads.
18:57And he's already putting a bit of time into Kyle Riding seconds.
19:00Yeah, and this, Ryan Vickers is similar in a lot of ways to Kyle Riding, the way he looks
19:06at a race.
19:06He figures out what other people have got.
19:08He's ridden the Yamaha, like he said on the grid.
19:10He knows where the strengths of the Yamaha, which are many, are, and he knows where the
19:14strengths of the Honda are.
19:16And he can ride to that.
19:18Rory Skinner at the moment.
19:20He knew coming on to this race that that bike was not going to be perfect.
19:23It can't be perfect.
19:24You don't get time.
19:42His best ever result earlier of a fifth.
19:45It's not going to be long until he's on a BSP podium, is it?
19:48No, I don't think so.
19:49I think he's, without doubt, in the last five or six years, the better now.
19:53And I can't think of one before that, the best rookie at BSP we've seen, I think.
19:59Yeah, I agree with that.
20:01It's also credit just to the bike itself as well.
20:03It's fantastic, isn't it?
20:04Yeah, I mean, it's a little race bike.
20:07The geometry, the weight distribution, obviously, we know it's got a Kawasaki engine, and it's
20:12good enough.
20:13The engine is doing its job, but the chassis is the thing that's the real bonus for that
20:19bike.
20:19So, Ian Haslam, of course, had some issues out on the sighting lap, but he's fallen back
20:24to eight at the moment.
20:25He's behind our habit.
20:26That is a worry, because if you got, he said, the throttle didn't, and now, bear in mind,
20:31these are obviously fuel-injected bikes.
20:33There is no mechanical link between what you do with your right hand with a twist grip and
20:37where the throttle opening is.
20:39So, when you close the throttle, that's just a switch, a potentiometer that tells the ECU
20:44to shut off the fuel.
20:45And when that doesn't work and the bike goes straight on 150 miles an hour, that would be
20:49in the back of your mind.
20:50Yeah, I would imagine.
20:52So, that was a lunge from him on O'Halloran into Park Corner.
20:55Haslam moves up into seventh place then and looks to close the gap down.
20:59Skinner has gone through on Bradley Ray.
21:01Where did that happen?
21:02Yeah, Skinner's obviously finding it and feeling his way back into this race.
21:06Needs to get a little bit of confidence back, especially at Charlie's.
21:09You always go past.
21:10These riders are good at shaking it off and getting back to it.
21:12They can put the accident down to whatever it was.
21:14I'm sure Rory's done that.
21:16It was a bit wide or hit the bump in a different, whatever, right?
21:19But it still takes your fuel laps just to put it out of your mind.
21:23Yeah, there might be something on there that's just not quite right, where you have to just
21:25adapt a bit as well.
21:26Ooh, that was offline from Ryan Vickers there.
21:30This is the longer race, remember, than what we saw earlier.
21:3218 laps of Cadwell Park is gruelling after you've been here, not just all weekend, but
21:37there was a test here on Friday as well.
21:41Yeah, we haven't had perfect conditions all the way through the weekend and on the test.
21:45The test was about sort of 50-50 of the time dry.
21:49And it is more physically demanding when it's dry.
21:53Rory Skinner, fastest lap of the race.
21:56Yeah.
21:56He crashed there earlier.
21:57It took them an hour and a half to get that bike, but it was in bits.
22:01He and his dad and the whole team had mucky hands.
22:04Yeah, we've said this before, but remember, this isn't a case of just wheeling the number
22:08two bike out like it used to be and, you know, stickies up fuel in it and off you go.
22:14They're not allowed to have a spare bike.
22:15They're allowed to have the bits to make up a spare bike if they can afford, which obviously
22:20that team can, and they can have sub-assemblies ready-built.
22:23So they can have a front wheel with the discs on, the forks with the yokes on, etc.
22:26But it's still a massive job to rebuild a bike that was in the condition that he left it
22:30up there.
22:31Yeah, absolutely.
22:31I went to see Ben Wilson and said, how is it?
22:33He said, oh, it was only a broken footrest.
22:34We'll be all right.
22:35Oh, he's gone down.
22:36We've given him the curse.
22:37Oh, no.
22:38Sorry.
22:39Rory.
22:39He's gone down at the chicane.
22:41He just posted the fastest lap of the race.
22:43We were just digging him up as well.
22:45They don't deserve that.
22:46Rory doesn't.
22:47The team doesn't.
22:48I think he's clipped a curb there the way it went down.
22:50Oh, what a shame.
22:51If you're a little bit off-sighted, you have to commit to the corner, you're going in right,
22:54then you flick it left.
22:55And it is easy to touch that curb on the inside.
22:58And we've said it all weekend here at Cadwell Park, fine margins.
23:01Absolutely.
23:02If you're on the right side of it, then everything's going to me.
23:04Let's have a look.
23:05Yeah.
23:06That's what he's done.
23:08Jules taking a bit too much curb, hit the raised section, and he's gone down.
23:13That's exactly what happened, and that is so easy to do.
23:15You've got a bike in front.
23:16You want to be quick.
23:17You're almost committing to something before you can see it, just based on,
23:21kind of instinct and previous laps, so unlucky, Rory.
23:25Where he can hold his head high, James, is that he had a brilliant win yesterday,
23:29and he's got the speed.
23:29And he's got the pace.
23:30Yeah.
23:31He'll be back in acid in three weeks' time.
23:34Out front, then, it is Vickers from Kyle Rye and Bradley Ray.
23:37Talbot, then, is up to fourth now, and then it's Cook.
23:39A second back, then, to Leon Haslam in sixth, with O'Halloran seventh.
23:43Scott Redding has made some progress, but only eighth at present on the Hager PBM Ducati.
23:50It looks like a strong end to the weekend for Kyle Rye as well, doesn't it?
23:53Yeah, it does.
23:54Yeah.
23:54But, hey, whichever way you look at it, it's already up to this point been a good weekend
23:59championship-wise for Kyle.
24:01Maybe a little bit less silverware than he's used to on the dash of the motorhome going
24:05home, but actually, this is still a good weekend.
24:07As it stands, James, he is set to take the Pirelli King of the Mountain trophy for the
24:11most points of the weekend.
24:12Yeah, he's been super consistent, that's why.
24:15This great drone shot here, O'Hall bends.
24:19Yeah, the sinuous ribbon of tarmac that anybody who's raced here, I cannot understand how you
24:23wouldn't love the place.
24:25Just the best place to ride.
24:27It'll bite you if you get it wrong, but that's the pleasure sometimes.
24:30Yeah, well, you know what I'm saying.
24:32I know what you're saying.
24:34Over the line then, to start lap six of 18, and Bradley Ray just warming up again here.
24:41Yep, he's warming up again.
24:42He's warming up again here, but he's found it so difficult in 2026.
24:49He's been in this position so many times, getting past the Ducati.
24:53It's a difficult job when you haven't got the power just to level with that bike in front
24:57on the straights.
25:00You're almost committing, if you're passing on the brakes, to a lunge every time when
25:05you're in that position, where you can't just, you know, get half a bike-length level with
25:09the rider in front.
25:11The man in fourth place, a British Supersport winner around Cadwell Park, we should just
25:15point out, is Joe Talbot.
25:17Yep.
25:18There's a nice move from Brad Ray.
25:19He had to do that.
25:20There was an opportunity there.
25:21Come round up then.
25:22Just beautiful, that.
25:23Yeah, and to make it that clean there.
25:25That steep downhill, a lot steeper than you think.
25:28Ooh, he's almost done the crats there.
25:30Joe Talbot's closing in on these two.
25:32Yep.
25:33On the AJ and still stop, Pimota.
25:35There could be a podium on the cards here for the rookie.
25:38Well, we, you know, we've said this.
25:41Well, we said it about two minutes ago.
25:42It's coming.
25:42I didn't think it was going to necessarily come here today, but he's got a chance.
25:47And his teammate there in fifth, fighting through the pain barrier.
25:51That's Max Cook.
25:52You have to think that, based on the fact that Kyle struggled this weekend with illness, he's not been able
25:58to take on a lot of fluids.
25:59He's not really eating anything, so his energy levels will be low, that later in this race, that will affect
26:04him.
26:04Yeah, I agree.
26:06Joe is, Joe actually is a really good mate of Kyle's and trains with him.
26:11And he's another, they're all, they're all fit lads.
26:14They all do a lot of cycling, running, whatever they do, gym work, mostly cycling, actually, for the cardiovascular stuff.
26:20And you won't believe this, but between the races, Kyle's been coaching, Joe, and that'll be quicker.
26:25He might cut that out, I'll be.
26:28Something's happened to Scott Redding.
26:29Yes.
26:30He's been grass-tracking, and he's dropped way back through the order, and he's fuming.
26:35Is this the end of the race here for the man who sits second in the championship?
26:39Whether it was caused by somebody else, do you think?
26:41It's hard to say, isn't it, for this stage.
26:43But at the moment, there's no points on offer here for Scott Redding.
26:45And how crucial is that?
26:46Kyle Ride already comfortable in the championship.
26:49Right, here we go.
26:50Brad Reign, second, last lap, fastest lap of his race.
26:54At 20, let's have a look, 25, nine, that's four tenths quicker than your leader, Ryan Vickers.
27:08We could have a proper race in our hands here, James, because we're only on lap 12 of 18.
27:14And now it looks like Kyle Ride might be closing in on...
27:17Ooh, that was close.
27:18Yeah, closing on on Ray.
27:20Yep.
27:21I think Max actually saw Jason Halloran up the inside there, and gave him a little bit of room.
27:32Head downhill into Mansfield corner.
27:36Cook fighting through the plane right.
27:37Here are the leaders, Vickers and Brad Reign.
27:39Let's have a look at that gap behind.
27:45Yeah, they're there.
27:46I don't think...
27:47Yeah.
27:48They're not going...
27:49You see?
27:50You see the big jump from Ryan Vickers, not so from Brad Ray, but he didn't actually gain any time
27:57from that.
27:58No.
27:58Still looks impressive, though.
28:00Still like to do it.
28:00There's another couple of tenths, though, that have been made up here by Kyle Ride in third.
28:04They might all bunch up together here.
28:05Yeah, true.
28:06Yeah, yeah.
28:07Out of barn corner onto the start finish straight to begin lap.
28:1013 of 18.
28:11It's number seven.
28:12Ryan Vickers from 28.
28:13Bradley Ray.
28:15Again, another couple of tenths gained by Ride and Talbot.
28:20Two-thirds distance completed in this one.
28:22So if the red flag were to come out due to, let's say, some rain, then it would be declared.
28:27You don't trust me, do you?
28:29Nope.
28:29I don't know why.
28:30You're absolutely impeccable at the island, man.
28:32So hold on a minute.
28:33But I just don't trust Cadwell.
28:35This place is so unpredictable.
28:37Yep, right in the middle of the hills of the Lincolnshire Walls.
28:40You can get your own little microclimber here.
28:43You can see the rain around the place.
28:46Still Vickers not allowing Brad Ray an inch.
28:54Through that first sector, the top four were all matching each other.
28:58The second sector about to flash here.
29:00I'll tell you, Ryan Vickers is still shoving on here.
29:02Lost the rear there going down at Mansfield.
29:04Lost himself a little bit of time.
29:05And not enough for Brad Ray to have a sort of genuine go at him.
29:08But he's still shoving on.
29:13Bottom of the mountain.
29:14Big air from Vickers once more.
29:18There's a big red bike in the way for Brad Ray.
29:20You can't get through here.
29:22Good place to watch this on the outside.
29:25The left-hand side as the riders are coming through.
29:27Just next to the cafe.
29:29And it's just a brilliant place to watch.
29:30You're really, really close.
29:33And consequently, the bike's gone through.
29:35Look to be going so quick.
29:37And they're actually moving from side to side when you come past.
29:39It's great.
29:40Yeah.
29:40The sort of rolls of the undulations on the right and left as well.
29:44Looks great.
29:45On that last lap, again, Kyle rides a couple of tenths quicker than your race leader.
29:51Talbot's made a mistake there.
29:54Slow last lap.
29:55It was a 26-9 drop.
29:57Four tenths to Leon Haslam and dropped a fair bit to Kyle Rydeluk.
30:02Yeah, Leon Haslam.
30:03I'm just wondering if he might have used up too much tyre getting to this group.
30:06So he's now dropped into the 27s as well.
30:11This is a difficult place for Joe Talbot now because he almost needs the sort of car in front of
30:15him to keep doing that pace.
30:17And he's now been cut adrift a little bit.
30:19So we'll see where he goes with this.
30:21Brad might have a look here.
30:22No?
30:23Honestly, when you're racing against somebody that's going about the same pace as you,
30:28you're almost committing to a lunge.
30:33Particularly around this place.
30:35Slowly but surely, Kyle Rydeluk is creeping into this.
30:37Yes, he is.
30:39Hats off to the championship leader.
30:41You'd think at this time we'd fade a bit.
30:44But oh no.
30:46Not in 2026.
30:47This version of Kyle Rydeluk is...
30:50It's the best version we've seen.
30:51It's unbelievable and it's getting better.
30:54Ryan Vickers at the moment though.
30:56Again, it's one thing getting with this group.
30:58He's got to find a way through on them.
31:00Yeah, Kyle Rydeluk 3.0 is the best we've seen, isn't it?
31:03It certainly is.
31:04Bottom of your picture, Storm Stacey's just made up a spot.
31:08He's ahead of Jackson and into 10th.
31:11Over the line, Kyle Rydeluk, you can see visibly closer.
31:15A tenth and a half gained.
31:16But we are running out of laps.
31:18This is now lap 15 of 18.
31:22And I still say it's going to be difficult,
31:24or it is difficult to see where Brad Ray's going to make something of this.
31:27Well, in the key areas where you would say overtaking spots are there,
31:32Ryan's just too good.
31:34Yeah, he is.
31:35And he doesn't need to defend, but I don't think, but I think he will.
31:38I think he'll defend.
31:39I think he knows the strength of the Yamaha.
31:42This is just showing, isn't it?
31:44I mean, we knew it already at the start of the year,
31:46how hard he was working on the Honda,
31:47but this is just showing the class of Ryan Vickers of late, isn't it?
31:50Yes, it is, yeah.
31:50That double win at Thruxton.
31:52It's on here potentially for a double win at Cadwell.
31:54Well, we'll turn some corners, Honda,
31:59because Jason O'Halloran's on for another solid top six as well.
32:06Storm Stacey coming through the pack.
32:09He's up ahead of Mikkelchik now,
32:11so he's into ninth place in the Batem's Ducati.
32:18That's Kyle Wright's charge, just come to a halt here,
32:22because he certainly won't want to push this too much
32:26with a few laps remaining.
32:29So it's as you were over the line.
32:31Ryan Vickers still leads from Bradley Frey,
32:33and Brad Frey cannot get through.
32:41That was a little mistake from Ryan Vickers.
32:43Lost the rear going into Challenge 1.
32:45Collected it really nicely, kept it under control,
32:48but did lose a little bit of time.
33:02We're on lap 16 of 18.
33:04Two and a half laps left here at Cadwell Park.
33:07Brad Ray just almost desperate for Ryan
33:10to go a bit deep somewhere or anything.
33:13Round here, that is exactly what you're waiting for.
33:16Do you think on the last lap he'd have a lunge down into Mansfield?
33:19That looks, at the moment, like the most obvious place, or here.
33:22Yes, it does, but I think it would be a lunge.
33:24I think he probably would think better of it,
33:27but actually what I think has going to happen is
33:31Ryan Vickers will defend, and he'll defend really well.
33:34He knows where that Yamaha's strong.
33:35He said that on the grid,
33:35and I think he'll know where to put that Honda to stop Brad Ray getting past.
33:40He has had a couple of looks, hasn't he, now, Bradley Ray,
33:42at that move from Mansfield to the chicane,
33:44but that has to be done well.
33:46That's not an easy move to pull off.
33:48All I would say is, and Brad will have seen this,
33:50that Ryan Vickers has made a couple of mistakes.
33:52He's lost the rear.
33:53I think he's not got the best of the tyre left.
33:58There is Scott Redding, at the moment, in 17th.
34:01He's got Danny Buckingham up ahead of him.
34:03Buckingham, who himself is just one place away from a point.
34:07He's got Fraser Rogers and Glenn Irwin ahead of him.
34:09Meanwhile, our hero just needs to go forward.
34:12What a weekend he's had.
34:13Fair play to him.
34:14Look at the company he's keeping, two years off a bike.
34:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:18Can you imagine how, after winter, one of these bikes feels quick?
34:21Well, look, I mean, Storm Spacey's tipping into turn one.
34:23He's in ninth, and Danny's at the...
34:25Right there.
34:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:26Right there.
34:27Hats off, mate. Hats off.
34:30Well done, Big Bird.
34:37There is the MET Foner Cab Ducati.
34:41I think Redding might be trying to make a move.
34:43It's getting a bit busy up ahead as well.
34:47As the Dow Racing bikes make their way through out front.
34:51Right, back at the front.
34:53Vickers versus Bradley Ray.
34:55Ray looking for his first win of the weekend.
35:00Where is Brad able to make a move on the final lap?
35:06He's had, I'd say, a good look.
35:08He's had 18 laps in a minute.
35:10To have a look at Ryan Vickers.
35:12Vickers already starting to defend now.
35:14Yes, he is.
35:14Last two laps, he did that exactly the same in the 12-lapper.
35:19And I can't see he's going to do anything any different.
35:21He knows where to do that.
35:23He's a thinking rider.
35:24Well, it's all on now.
35:25It's Honda versus Yamaha.
35:27It's Vickers versus Ray.
35:28In the final lap here at Cadwell Park of the final race.
35:32Who will take the spoils?
35:35Earlier in the sprint race, Vickers took glory.
35:38Bradley Ray had to set up the second.
35:40First attempt for Brad on this lap.
35:42He's going to be, if he can get a really good run out of Charlie's 2,
35:44which he hasn't.
35:45Not good enough to put him in a position.
35:48But he will defend here.
35:49Yeah, that's right.
35:51Because defending excellently.
35:53I thought he might have gone in there a bit hot then.
35:54And he did, and he lost the rear coming out.
35:56That'll give Brad a little bit of hope.
35:58This could give Brad a chance if he's got the momentum through the gooseneck,
36:00maybe to align something up into Mansfield.
36:02But he's strong.
36:03Look how much Brian's pushing.
36:04I don't think he's going to be close enough.
36:05He's not.
36:06Doesn't look like he is.
36:07So down the hill here.
36:08Now, is this the move?
36:09Is this where he tries to pull something off?
36:11Vickers is really pushing on on this last lap.
36:14Bradley Ray trying to line something up.
36:15It won't be into this chicane.
36:17And now he really is running out of opportunity.
36:19Yes, he is.
36:20It won't be down in towards the bottom of the mountain.
36:23It's too risky.
36:24Yeah, well, there's only one place left now.
36:26That is into the hairpin.
36:29Ryan too good over the mountain to get any chance for Bradley into Hall Benz.
36:34I don't think it's going to happen.
36:35It's going to be a big one if it does.
36:37Yeah, he's not close enough to make that move.
36:39And it's defending from Ryan Vickers as well.
36:41This has been perfect.
36:42Yes, it has.
36:43The pair of them, in all fairness.
36:45But there's just no way through for Bradley Ray.
36:48And it's going to be another double for Ryan Vickers,
36:51who wins here at Cadwell Park on the Honda.
36:53And another podium for your championship leader, Kyle Ryde.
36:59It's the fourth win in five races now for Ryan Vickers.
37:03Makes you wonder, doesn't it, if they could have started this sort of form where he might feature in the
37:08championship.
37:09But a great weekend, nonetheless, for him.
37:12He wins from Ray and Ryde.
37:13Joe Talbot, a best-ever fourth for him, ahead of Haslam and O'Halloran, with three top sixes this weekend.
37:19Then it was Iden, Cook, Storm Stacey and Ilya Mikkelchik inside the top ten once more in the championship.
37:26Look at the damage that's been done here this weekend at Cadwell.
37:29And in the last couple of weeks, 71 now.
37:31The advantage for Kyle Ryde, who is cruising in 2026, ahead of Reading and Ray.
37:38That battle for third could be on, though, because Vickers has taken a big chunk of points the last few
37:43weeks.
37:44Ryan Vickers, what a weekend for Honda, the home track for you.
37:49Four wins out of the last five races.
37:51You're a man on form in a minute.
37:52Yeah, I can't believe it, honestly.
37:54I was just saying to Larry, looking at this at the start of the year, I wouldn't have believed it.
37:57But, yeah, done the double on the last two Sundays.
38:00It was technically Monday, but race day, we, yeah, we knew what we had to do.
38:05We got another amazing start straight into the lead.
38:07And I literally just did a carbon copy of race one today and just tried to ride as good as
38:12I could.
38:13At the start of the race, I had a bit of tire.
38:14I was trying to sort of break the field a little bit, setting some decent lap times.
38:18And then when I see 28 on my board, I thought, right, it's me and you to the end now.
38:22And that was it.
38:23It was just a group one, Brad, 28.
38:26And I thought, right, I've just got to try and deal with Brad now.
38:28And did the carbon copy of what I did in the first race, used the strength of the bike,
38:33used all the race craft I've ever learned and managed to defend everywhere.
38:37But I knew Brad was right on my tail.
38:39But thanks to the team.
38:40Thanks to all my sponsors.
38:42Fantastic weekend.
38:43I've always wanted to do it here at Cadwell.
38:44It's always been one of my favorite places.
38:46And to finally do the double on a Sunday is absolutely a dream come true.
38:52Well, we had to wait eight rounds for Kyle Wright to go through a weekend without winning a race.
38:56But it's consistency that counts, as we know, in British super bikes.
39:00And that's why he's extended his lead at the top of the championship
39:04and also why he's crowned king of the mountain.
39:07Next up, we go from Cadwell Park to the Cathedral of Speed.
39:10We'll see you for round nine at Assen.
39:17We'll see you next time.
39:17We'll see you next time.
39:17We'll see you next time.
39:17We'll see you next time.
