00:00:15The interesting thing with this one, Danny Bucket, is Alfie Davidson, championship leader, lines up in twelfth position
00:00:21and Harley McKay, who is in third position in the championship, down in sixteenth.
00:00:26Yeah, it's a real important race here for championship points.
00:00:30And, you know, Asher Durham has a real opportunity here to take a chunk of points away from Davidson.
00:00:35I know Davidson had a crash in FP1 yesterday, so I don't know if the bike's not quite feeling as
00:00:40good.
00:00:40And when we say he's down in twelfth place, it's about 0.3 of a second off of pole position.
00:00:44So we're in for a very close and tight race here at Thruxton.
00:00:49Exactly what we want to see at the Pirelli Bridge Sportbike Championship.
00:00:52We've been used to seeing it throughout the preceding races and rounds as the riders are in place, 40 strong
00:00:58in the field
00:01:00as they are all awaiting the lights and their opportunity to bid for glory round Thruxton.

00:01:14And a good start from pole for Carl Harris alongside him.
00:01:18They look like Asher Durham getting away well.
00:01:20And with a big, strong start field, Danny Bucket, it's going to be all important that everyone keeps their nose
00:01:25clean.
00:01:26Yeah, 40 riders, Ed, round here into this first complex.
00:01:30He's always a bit of an exciting one.
00:01:32Is that Daniel Goodman now into the lead?

00:01:35Maybe there was a mistake by Carl Harris because he seems to be back in fourth place now.

00:02:15He rides different bikes all the time.
00:02:16He's very experienced.
00:02:17And he'll be a right nuisance in his class.
00:02:19And he'll be great to watch.
00:02:22Well, there's the shakeout as we're over halfway around the first lap.
00:02:27And it is Goodman that leads from Durham.
00:02:28Harris trying to make up, gets into that third position on the anchors.
00:02:32Everyone just about funneling their way through club, are they?
00:02:36Oh, it's so tight.
00:02:38First lap through there.
00:02:39Everyone sort of funnels in.
00:02:40We've had a crash.
00:02:43I can't see this number there.
00:02:46But Carl Harris, yeah, he seems to have recovered well.
00:02:48I think he just got up into third place.
00:02:51Daniel Goodman doing a fantastic job there.
00:02:52He's got a nice little gap there.
00:02:56Ashadarov, this is a real opportunity to take some points out of Davidson.
00:03:00Well, Goodman's not had the greatest of seasons, with all due respect.

00:03:05But whatever he's had lit underneath him this weekend so far.

00:03:10And putting that hammer down as well as he's on the move.

00:03:16Let's have a little look at that crash at the chicane head and see what's gone on here.

00:03:26Well, the guy there on the outside was blaming the guy on the inside.
00:03:30But he come back into the racing line.
00:03:33So, yeah.
00:03:35A bit of high side.
00:03:37The number 70 there come back expecting nobody to be there.
00:03:40And the 44s took him straight out.
00:03:42So, a bit of an unfortunate one.
00:03:44But that's motorbike racing.
00:03:45Back to the front of the race.
00:03:47We've got a bit of a changeover.
00:03:48Asher Durham now, obviously, into the lead.
00:03:50Runs a bit deep there.
00:03:51Kyle Harris in second.
00:03:53This is going to be like this the whole race, Ed.
00:03:54It's going to be mental.

00:03:57But Asher Durham has to understand that some of these guys around him,
00:04:00well, most of the guys around him, do not matter in this championship fight.
00:04:03So, he cannot afford to be taken out.
00:04:05Davidson there up into 10th.
00:04:09Well, considering he started in 12th, he's moving up a little bit.
00:04:12But he's got to get a real wriggle on if he wants to do something special.
00:04:16As is McCabe into 13th when they cross the line at least.

00:04:22Then you've got Cooper there in fourth position.
00:04:26Yeah, I mean, 2.4 seconds across the finish line covered 13 riders.
00:04:32So, yeah, this is going to be hectic.
00:04:34You know, if you had your racing hat on now, you just have to be in attack mode.
00:04:38Get yourself to the front and try and stay out of trouble.
00:04:40You do not want to be mid-pack in that chicane on these opening few laps.
00:04:44No, because you've got to be keeping your focus forward.
00:04:46Your best form of defense is attack.
00:04:48And these guys have got to keep going because there's so many riders around them.
00:04:52You've got to be concentrating on what's happening in front of you.
00:04:55Oh, they're funnelling through there.
00:04:57This is going to be an absolute epic race.

00:05:01I think that was Lewis Smart just going offline slightly.

00:05:16And then the sort of ripple effect of that is that everybody's fighting for this little bit of track space.

00:05:29I think started the season off nicely.
00:05:31Davidson up to seventh across the line that time as well.

00:05:53But 13 people want that.
00:05:55So, that's why we get this chaos.

00:06:00A little bit of daylight as Cooper and Goodman have been exchanging some blows.
00:06:05The first part of lap four of the 14th around this Thruxton track.
00:06:12Yeah, this part now we're building up into church.
00:06:15And this is where the fun happens.
00:06:18Four or five abreast into the club chicane is always exciting.
00:06:23Let's see who's going to look.
00:06:24Carl Harris is good.
00:06:25He's got a bit of speed on that bike, on that rocket bike.
00:06:28And he's good on the brakes.
00:06:31And he's into the lead.
00:06:33McKay there running a little bit wide.
00:06:35He's going to fill it back up inside of Smart.
00:06:37Yes, he gets it back in the racing line.
00:06:41About to start lap five.
00:06:43It is Harris, Durham, Cooper, Goodman, Davey, McKay, Smart.
00:06:47Davidson down to eighth.
00:06:49Wilkinson and Best.
00:06:50Oh, everything is all up for grabs here.
00:06:53This little battle here between Davidson, Smart and Wilkinson, though, is really creating a gap.
00:06:57And they cannot do that.
00:06:59You know, Davidson, if he wants to have a crack at winning this race or getting himself on the podium,
00:07:03he's got to stay out of trouble and keep with his lead pack.
00:07:07Goodman has gone for that move again at the inside at Seagrave.
00:07:11Durham looks comfortable here.
00:07:13Durham looks the most comfortable out of all of them.
00:07:14I think now Kyle Harris has got to the front.
00:07:16I think he's going to settle himself down.
00:07:18And, yeah, his dad always had OK results here.
00:07:23So, you know, he's going to be going to be there, mate, living it.
00:07:29Well, Harris out in front.
00:07:31Cooper right on the back of Durham at the moment.
00:07:33Well, they're all right on the back of each other.
00:07:35But fighting for that tiny bit of track space, high speeds here around Thruxton.
00:07:43Goodman, and Goodman's trying to get his way back past Cooper.
00:07:47But as is Aidan Davey as well.
00:07:49I should have thought I'm there on the inside in the slipstream.

00:07:53Goodman on the inside.
00:07:54You can't park there.
00:07:55Well, he has parked it there.
00:07:56He's pushed Harris wide and found himself up into second position across the rattling curves here.
00:08:04Where is Davidson up into sixth position?
00:08:07Asha Durham doing what he needs to do, being out the front of this one.
00:08:10Davidson championship leader still in the melee, in that middle battle,
00:08:15where everything's coming from all angles here.
00:08:20That's that move.
00:08:21On his teammate, Cooper, inside there.
00:08:24Likes that move.
00:08:25I think he's done that three or four times already in just the six laps that we've come around here.
00:08:29Yeah, I'm really rooting for Kyle Harris.
00:08:31He's had a fantastic season this year.
00:08:33He's took a massive step forward.
00:08:34And he's just been a bit unfortunate.
00:08:36Old Park, he crashed out on the last lap out of a podium position.
00:08:39And he's done all the hard work.
00:08:40And I actually messaged him and said, look, all these, you know, these little mistakes are just,
00:08:44they build your character and you have to learn them.
00:08:46So, yeah, it's all a learning.
00:08:48That fairing looks a bit loose, yeah.
00:08:50We might see a black flag for that.
00:08:52Especially with these speeds around here.
00:08:55Here we go.
00:08:55Oh, all about lining up, as you'd already talked about, bringing the speed onto this back straight.
00:09:00And Kyle Harris slotted in behind Durham.
00:09:03And Goodman out in front with a little bit of space at the moment.
00:09:06Aiden Davey on the back of this pack as well.
00:09:10CF Motors are looking good there.
00:09:13Davey around the outside of Kyle Harris.
00:09:15Is he going to slot it in?
00:09:16You have to let him slot in.
00:09:19And that's Davidson then up the back, right behind that little group as well.
00:09:24There he is in, what's that, fifth position now?
00:09:26Yeah, Davidson up to fifth.
00:09:28Doing exactly what he needs to do.
00:09:29Just keep chipping away.
00:09:30Keep that focus.
00:09:32That championship, he's been smart through this championship, hasn't he?
00:09:34Hasn't taken unnecessary risks so far.
00:09:36But he's certainly got the bit between the teeth.
00:09:39Yeah, 100%.
00:09:40And this is exactly what he needs to do, you know.
00:09:4212th place on the grid.
00:09:43If you'd have told him he'd be sat in fifth place with, you know, on lap seven,
00:09:47he'd probably been quite happy with that.
00:09:49Yeah, not far away from the lead either, in reality.
00:09:51No, and he's in that fight.
00:09:53You know, this is going to be all about track positioning on these last laps of this race.
00:09:58You know, obviously, as we close down halfway through the race at the moment,
00:10:01once we close down to the last couple of laps,
00:10:03we're going to start seeing people getting a bit antsy on track position and where they're going to be.
00:10:08But Goodman, back to the front, doing a fantastic job there leading.
00:10:16Just the speed coming around here, just and playing with inches as well, aren't they?
00:10:21Yeah, the issue you have there, though, Ed, as well,
00:10:23is if you're aggressive on the power down through Goodwood and Village,
00:10:28you're just taking tyre, you're taking rubber off your tyre,
00:10:31and you really, the last few laps is when you hate yourself for doing that.
00:10:35Goodman around the outside, up the inside.
00:10:37Durham has to give that position.
00:10:39If he doesn't, he runs them both wide.
00:10:40That's the issue with that turn, so it's a little bit of a funny corner, that.
00:10:45Inside, you're just thinking, I just want to let the brake off and not let it back in,
00:10:47but you have to, otherwise you risk running both yourselves off the track.
00:10:53McKay there with the fastest lap of 120.321.
00:10:56I mean, most of these in the top.
00:10:59Yeah, okay, all the way down to the top 17 and doing 1 minute 20 lap times.
00:11:03Yeah, I think 13th, 120s, just over that halfway point there to 14 laps here.
00:11:11And tyre is something that these guys will be focusing in on?
00:11:15I don't think they will be focusing too much on them,
00:11:17but towards the end of this race, you know, if you have saved a little bit,
00:11:21if you've not been quite so aggressive on the side of the tyre,
00:11:23you will benefit from it, and they'll have a little bit more drive grip.
00:11:27So, off the turns, they'll just be able to pull past their competitors,
00:11:30and that's certainly the way I'd try and be thinking about it,
00:11:33but it doesn't look cool for Instagram, though.
00:11:36Will's in line.
00:11:38And we know that's more important than anything else.

00:11:44Durham then moves towards the inside round.
00:11:46Goodman is getting this move set up nice and early.
00:11:49And then Harris coming from a long way back.

00:12:17I think right now all Durham needs to do is keep trying to win races
00:12:20and just keep trying to beat Davidson, you know?
00:12:23But Davidson there sat back will be able to see where Durham is
00:12:26and he'll be doing some calculations, you know?

00:12:31But he will be taking stock of where Durham is
00:12:33and knows that he wants to try and extend his championship lead
00:12:36by being ahead of him.

00:14:54Well, Daniel Goodman, best thing we've seen from him so far this season was Donington Park race to sixth.
00:14:59Other than that, he's been, he has been in single digits by the first race in Donington Park.
00:15:05So what a turn up this would be for the books.

00:15:08And it's really good for your confidence.
00:15:09As a rider, you come to a track, even if it's just a good track for you and you like,
00:15:13you know, you still leave here with a race win or a podium.
00:15:16And it just propels your confidence and then you rock up to the next round and you already feel better.
00:15:22You know, you've got that spring in your step.

00:15:30So very close to knocking it into those 19s.
00:15:33And that's why he finds himself at the front.

00:15:45So let's look at the speed and drive Goodman just took off of Church there.

00:16:04There's plenty of chopping and changing through the middle part of this leading pack that stretches all the way down

00:16:13And there's a little bit of gap from McKay to Best.
00:16:15But it's pretty much a top eight flying around here.
00:16:21Yeah, and that is the beauty of this class.
00:16:22You know, they're very even on performance here.
00:16:25They've all got very, you know, got the same electronic systems on the bike.
00:16:30Harrison, Harrison McKay first to dip into the 119s.
00:16:33Best lap of the race last time round.
00:16:35Which means he starts on pole position in the race too, tomorrow.
00:16:39Which round here, Ed, isn't the end of the world starting on pole position?
00:16:42And you can start a little bit further back, as we've seen with Davidson.
00:16:45You know, he's now in the fight with Carl Harris, who was on pole position.
00:16:48So it doesn't matter too much, but it's still a nice way to start a race, definitely.

00:16:55You might get many people passing up an opportunity to start on the pole.

00:17:21Whatever Lewis Smart and Daniel Goodman have found this weekend, that's pretty epic stuff.
00:17:27Yeah, well, I caught up with Lewis at the last round,
00:17:28and he just said that they've changed a couple of engines of late,
00:17:31and they've just been so much, the bike has been so much better.
00:17:34So he's feeling a little bit more confident.
00:17:37He took a massive step at Brands Hatch and then carried that form through to Alton Park
00:17:41and now to here, which are very, very different tracks.
00:17:45Oh, Davey putting a move on Carl Harris.
00:17:47I think that was.
00:17:48We cut back.
00:17:49Oh, big moment there from Lewis Smart.
00:17:51That's a big wake-up on the penultimate lap.
00:17:54Yeah, if Lewis can settle down, it would be great for him to get himself a podium this weekend.

00:18:00I mean, if Harris is going to come off with your big pick, Danny,
00:18:03he's going to have to make some moves.

00:18:15although there's a bit of a gap there now that's been separated with Lewis Smart's incident.

00:18:49The Pirelli British Sportbike Championship has certainly been one of the highlights of BSB 2026.
00:18:55And these guys are putting on a show.

00:27:43But, obviously, rolling with the punches, it's not easy coming from England to get to that Spanish level.

00:39:31You know, there's a bit of a gap between Foster, Humphreys today.
00:39:35And then, oh, he's a bit wide there, his Humphreys.
00:39:39But I really think that Fitcher can get onto the back of this podium fight.
00:39:43And what a salvage that would be from the back of the grid.
00:39:48Let's see if he can get on there.
00:39:50He's got Trevorrow just in front of him.
00:39:55Yeah, still one and a half seconds, that gap.
00:39:58Again, a tenth of a second quicker than Dunabee on that last lap as well.
00:40:02When they overtake each other like they're doing now into these complexes,
00:40:06all they're doing is slowing each other up.
00:40:07Dunabee would be so frustrated under his crash helmet
00:40:12because although you don't want to work together with your competitor,
00:40:15if you've got any hope of winning this race, they have to.
00:40:17They've got to try and work together.
00:40:18But, you know, Frost is just out front and he's just laughing his way around going,
00:40:23look, I've done all the hard work on that one.
00:40:25Well, Danny, we've talked about it in this.
00:40:27We've talked about it in the super bikes and all of that,
00:40:29how the guys are handling tyres.
00:40:31What does the tyres look like for these smaller bikes?
00:40:34Is it something that Frost could have been going so much harder than anybody else?
00:40:37Does that not equate to these little bikes?
00:40:40I don't think so with the smaller CCs.
00:40:41I would like to say no.
00:40:43I think the grip levels are going to be very similar all the way through.
00:40:46You know, these bikes are little mini race bikes.
00:40:48So the chassis on them are super stiff and they are built for racing.
00:40:52So, you know, they're going to hold a tyre.
00:40:54They're going to be very good on tyres, especially around Froxton.
00:40:56So I don't think they've got anything to worry about in that respect.
00:40:59I think the fact that Frost just stayed out of trouble on lap one from turn one,
00:41:03he got out into the lead and that just is, you know,
00:41:06he took nine tenths, nearly a second out of the pack on lap one.
00:41:10And that's just all the hard work done.
00:41:12And we're seeing it go back downwards at 1.2,
00:41:14the quickest lap of the race by Marco Holt that last lap round.
00:41:17So if Dunabee and Holt can get away, they might be able to close him down.
00:41:24Well, Holt there in behind Dunabee.
