00:00Hi there, it's been a wet Wednesday in some parts of the UK.
00:04That rain moves north overnight, followed by a lot of cloud cover and a humid feel
00:10because of these brisk southwesterly winds extending a relatively mild air mass across the whole of the UK.
00:17So, it's a wet night for northern Scotland as the rain moves north,
00:20and then we've got the legacy of cloudy skies, some mist and murk around southern and western coasts and hills,
00:27as well as further light rain and drizzle at times, especially over western hills
00:31and most especially the southwest of England where that breeze will be on the brisk side.
00:37And of course, because of the cloud, because of the mild wind direction and because of the high humidities,
00:43it's going to be a warm night, 17 or 18 Celsius in the south, uncomfortable for sleeping.
00:49And it's in the south where it will be gloomy first thing Thursday
00:52with these outbreaks of rain and drizzle just creeping along southern counties of England for a time,
00:57turning more showery by the afternoon.
00:59The rain across Shetland clears by the afternoon.
01:03Brighter skies for many parts of the UK, especially central and then southern areas.
01:08And as the sun comes through with that higher humidity,
01:12temperatures will reach quite widely.
01:13The mid-20s in the south could get 27 or 28 Celsius in the southeast.
01:18So really quite a warm day after that gloomy start.
01:21But further rain is on its way.
01:24It sets in during the afternoon across Northern Ireland,
01:27then into central and southern Scotland, northwest England, eventually north Wales.
01:31And it's this weather system that extends rain then by the evening into much of Scotland.
01:36Showers for the northwest of Scotland, but more persistent rain coming into the Midlands, parts of Wales.
01:42You can see the brighter colours there indicating heavy outbreaks of rain for a while across Wales,
01:47into the Midlands, eastern parts of England.
01:49It's a narrowing weather front.
01:51To the south of it, we keep the grey, gloomy weather for the start of Friday, drizzly showers.
01:57And to the north of it, something a little brighter to begin things on Friday,
02:01but also fresher with a strong breeze blowing in frequent showers for parts of Northern Ireland and Northern Scotland.
02:07So a three-way split on Friday morning, grey skies to begin things, but mild in the south.
02:14And outbreaks of rain do sink southwards.
02:17So after a wet start across central parts, that rain arrives into the southeast by lunchtime,
02:23eventually fizzling away with brighter skies emerging.
02:26But we keep the showery picture for Scotland, Northern Ireland, eventually Northern England,
02:31seeing those showers, frequent downpours, blustery winds and a much fresher feel in the north.
02:36Temperatures mid to high teens.
02:38It's staying humid in the south and southeast.
02:41Temperatures still up to the mid-20s, despite the lack of sunshine through the day.
02:46And as that system clears through, a ridge of high pressure builds in for the weekend.
02:51So a drier start for many parts.
02:54There'll be further rain and wind potentially in the far north, Scotland, Northern Ireland for Sunday,
02:59whilst it turns increasingly warm once again towards the south and southeast.
03:04Much more as ever on our YouTube channel.
03:06Bye-bye.
