01:05Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and
01:13confess our many sins and wickedness. We should not justify nor hide them before the face of
01:20Almighty God our Heavenly Father, but confess them with a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient
01:27heart, to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:39Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly
01:46when we assemble and meet together, to give thanks for the great benefits we have received
01:51at his hands, to give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those
01:59things which are truly necessary, as well for the body as the soul.
02:07Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart
02:13and humble voice, to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:20Father, Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like
02:26lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended
02:34against your holy laws. We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and
02:41we have done things which we ought not to have done, and so there is no health in us.
02:49But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners. Spare those, O God, who confess their
02:56faults. Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind
03:03in Christ Jesus our Lord. Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may be
03:11hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:22Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they
03:29may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind, through Jesus Christ

05:32Listen to me because of your loyal love. O Lord, revive me as you typically do.
05:39Those who are eager to do wrong, draw near. They are far from your law.
05:46You are near, O Lord, and all your commands are reliable.
05:52I learned long ago that you ordained your rules to lust.
05:58See my pain and rescue me, for I do not forget your law.
06:02Fight for me and defend me, or revive me with your word.
06:09The wicked have no chance for deliverance, for they do not seek your statutes.
06:15Your compassion is great, O Lord, or revive me as you typically do.
06:23The enemies who chase me are numerous, yet I do not turn aside from your rules.
06:30I take note of the treacherous and despise them, because they do not keep your instructions.
06:36See how I love your precepts. O Lord, revive me with your loyal love.
06:43Your instructions are totally reliable.

06:54Yet, I am more afraid of disobeying your instructions.
06:59I rejoice in your instructions, like one who finds much plunder.

08:51Israel, return to Yahweh your God, for you have fallen because of your sin.

12:15The Gospel according to Saint Luke, chapter 2
12:20Now Jesus' parents went to Jerusalem every year for the Feast of the Passover.
12:27When he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom.
12:32But when the feast was over, as they were returning home,
12:36the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem.
12:40His parents did not know it, but,
12:43because they assumed that he was with their group of travellers,
12:47they continued a day's journey.
12:50Then they began to look for him among their relatives and acquaintances,
12:54and when they did not find him,
12:56they returned to Jerusalem to look for him.
13:00After three days they found him in the temple courts,
13:03sitting amongst the teachers,
13:05listening to them and asking them questions.
13:09All who heard Jesus were astonished at his understanding and his answers.
13:17When his parents saw him, they were overwhelmed,
13:19and his mother said to him,
13:21Child, why have you treated us like this?
13:24Look, your father and I have been looking for you most anxiously.
13:30But Jesus replied,
13:32Why were you looking for me?
13:34Didn't you know that I must be in my father's house?
13:39And yet his parents did not understand the remark he made to them.
13:45Then he went down with them and came to Nazareth,
13:49and was obedient to them.
13:51But his mother kept all these things in her heart.
13:56Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature,
13:59and in favour with God and with all the people.
14:04This is the word of the Lord.
14:06Thanks be to God.
14:18Now according to your word, Sovereign Lord,
14:22permit your servant to depart in peace.
14:26For my eyes have seen your salvation,
14:28that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
14:33a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
