00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.

05:55The moon and stars to rule by night, for his loyal love endures.
06:02To the one who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, for his loyal love endures.
06:09And led Israel out from their midst, for his loyal love endures.
06:16With a strong hand and outstretched arm, for his loyal love endures.
06:23To the one who divided the Red Sea in two, for his loyal love endures.
06:29And led Israel through its midst, for his loyal love endures.

06:43To the one who led his people through the wilderness, for his loyal love endures.

07:03Sion, king of the Amorites, for his loyal love endures.

07:14And gave their land as an inheritance, for his loyal love endures.
07:21As an inheritance to Israel his servant, for his loyal love endures.
07:28To the one who remembered us when we were dead.
07:32For his loyal love endures.
07:35And snatched us away from our enemies, for his loyal love endures.

07:56Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
08:00As it was, in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
08:05World without end. Amen.
08:12Psalm 137
08:15By the rivers of Babylon, we sit down and weep, when we remember Zion.
08:23On the poplars in her midst, we hang our harps.
08:27For there our captors ask us to compose songs.
08:31Those who mock us demand that we be happy, saying,
08:34Sing for us a song about Zion.
08:38How can we sing a song to the Lord in a foreign land?
08:43If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand be crippled.
08:48May my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you,
08:53And do not give Jerusalem priority over whatever gives me the most joy.
09:00Remember, O Lord, what the Edomites did on the day Jerusalem fell.
09:04They said, tear it down, tear it down, right to its very foundation.
09:12O daughter of Babylon, soon to be devastated,
09:15How blessed will be the one who repays you for what you dished out to us.
09:21How blessed will be the one who grabs your babies and smashes them on a rock.
09:29Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
09:33As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
09:38World without end. Amen.
09:44Psalm 138
09:47I will give you thanks with all my heart.
09:50Before the heavenly assembly, I will sing praises to you.
09:55I will bow down toward your holy temple,
09:58And give thanks to your name,
10:00Because of your loyal love and faithfulness,
10:03Because you have exalted your promise above the entire sky.
10:08When I cried out for help, you answered me,
10:11You made me bold and energised me.
10:15Let all the kings of the earth give thanks to you, O Lord,
10:18When they hear the words you speak.
10:21Let them sing about the Lord's deeds,
10:24For the Lord's splendour is magnificent.
10:28Though the Lord is exalted,
10:30He looks after the lowly and humbles the proud from far away.
10:36Even when I must walk in the midst of danger, you revive me.
10:41You oppose my angry enemies,
10:43And your right hand delivers me.
10:47The Lord avenges me.
10:49O Lord, your loyal lover endures.
10:53Do not abandon those whom you have made.
10:58Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
11:02As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
11:06World without end.
11:08Amen.
11:15The prophet Jeremiah chapter 3
11:19Go out and shout this message to my people in the countries in the north.
11:25Tell them,
11:26Come back to me, wayward Israel, says the Lord.
11:29I will not continue to look on you with displeasure,
11:33For I am merciful, says the Lord.
11:37I will not be angry with you for ever.
11:42However, you must confess that you have done wrong,
11:45That you have rebelled against the Lord your God.
11:49You must confess that you have given yourself to foreign gods,
11:53Under every green tree,
11:55And have not obeyed my commands, says the Lord.
12:00Come back to me, my wayward sons, says the Lord,
12:03For I am your true master.
12:06If you do, I will take one of you from each town,
12:10And two of you from each family group.
12:12And I will bring you back to Zion.
12:15I will give you leaders who will be faithful to me.
12:18They will lead you with knowledge and insight.
12:22In those days, your population will greatly increase in the land.
12:27At that time, says the Lord,
12:29People will no longer talk about having an ark
12:32That contains the Lord's covenant with us.
12:35They will not call it to mind, remember it, or miss it.
12:39No, that will not be done anymore.
12:43At that time, the city of Jerusalem will be called the Lord's throne.
12:48All nations will gather there in Jerusalem to honour the Lord's name.
12:54They will no longer follow the stubborn inclinations of their own evil hearts.
13:00At that time, the nation of Judah and the nation of Israel will be reunited.
13:06Together they will come back from a land in the north
13:09To the land I gave your ancestors as a permanent possession.
13:15This is the word of the Lord.
13:18Thanks be to God.
13:31Mary said,
13:32My soul exalts the Lord,
13:35And my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
13:39Because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
13:45For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
13:49Because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
13:53And holy is his name.
13:56From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
14:02He has demonstrated power with his arm.
14:06He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
14:12He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
14:15And has lifted up those of lowly position.
14:19He has filled the hungry with good things,
14:21And has sent the rich away empty.
14:25He has helped his servant Israel,
14:28Remembering his mercy,
14:30As he promised to our ancestors,
14:33To Abraham and to his descendants for ever.
14:38Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
14:42As it was in the beginning,
14:45Is now and ever shall be,
14:47World without end.
14:49Amen.
14:56The Gospel according to St. Luke chapter 19
15:02When Jesus came near to Bethsvage and Bethany,
15:06At the mountain that is called Olivet,
15:09He sent two of his disciples, saying,
15:12Go into the village on the other side,
15:15In which, as you enter,
15:16You will find a colt tied,
15:18Which no man had ever sat on.
15:21Untie it and bring it.
15:24If anyone asks you,
15:25Why are you untying it?
15:27Say to him,
15:28The Lord needs it.
15:31Those who were sent went on their way,
15:33And found things just as he had told them.
15:36As they were untying the colt,
15:38Its owners said to him,
15:40Why are you untying the colt?
15:43And they said,
15:44The Lord needs it.
15:47They brought it to Jesus,
15:49They threw their cloaks on the colt,
15:51And set Jesus on them.
15:54And as he went,
15:56They spread their cloaks on the road.
15:59As he was now getting near,
16:01At the descent of the Mount of Olives,
16:03The whole multitude of the disciples
16:05Began to rejoice and praise God
16:07With a loud voice,
16:08For all the mighty works they had seen,
16:11Saying,
16:12Blessed is the King,
16:13Who comes in the name of the Lord,
16:16Peace in heaven,
16:17And glory in the highest.
16:20Some of the Pharisees from the multitude
16:22Said to him,
16:23Teacher,
16:24Rebuke your disciples.
16:27He answered them,
16:29I tell you,
16:30If they were silent,
16:31Even the stones would cry out.
16:36When Jesus approached and saw the city,
16:38He wept over it,
16:40Saying,
16:41If you had only known on this day,
16:44Even you,
16:44The things that make for peace.
16:47But now they are hidden from your eyes.
16:50For the days will come upon you,
16:51When your enemies will build an embankment against you,
16:55And surround you,
16:56And close in on you from every side.
17:00They will demolish you,
17:02You and your children within your walls.
17:04They will not leave within you,
17:06One stone on top of another,
17:08Because you did not recognise the time,
17:11Of your visitation from God.
17:15Then Jesus entered the temple courts,
17:18And began to drive out those,
17:20Who were selling things there,
17:21Saying to them,
17:22It is written,
17:23My house will be a house of prayer,
17:27But you have turned it,
17:28Into a den of robbers.
17:32Jesus taught daily,
17:34In the temple courts,
17:36The chief priests,
17:37And the experts in the law,
17:38And the prominent leaders among the people,
17:41Looked for ways to assassinate him,
17:44But they could not find a way to do so,
17:46For all the people,
17:47Hung on his every word.
17:50This is the word of the Lord,
17:53Thanks be to God.
18:04Now according to your word,
18:06Sovereign Lord,
18:08Permit your servant to depart in peace,
18:11For my eyes have seen your salvation,
18:14That you have prepared,
18:16In the presence of all peoples,
18:19A light for revelation to the Gentiles,
18:22And for glory to your people Israel.
18:27Glory be to the Father,
18:28And to the Son,
18:29And to the Holy Spirit,
18:31As it was in the beginning,
18:33Is now,
18:34And ever shall be,
18:35World without end.
18:37Amen.
18:42I believe in God,
18:44The Father Almighty,
18:46Maker of heaven and earth,
18:48And in Jesus Christ,
18:49His only Son,
18:50Our Lord,
18:52Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
18:55Born of the Virgin Mary,
18:57Suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
19:00He was crucified,
19:02Dead and buried,
19:04He descended into hell,
19:06On the third day,
19:07He rose again from the dead,
19:09He ascended into heaven,
19:12And is sitting at the right hand of God,
19:14The Father Almighty,
19:16From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead,
19:21I believe in the Holy Spirit,
19:23The Holy Catholic Church,
19:25The communion of saints,
19:27The forgiveness of sins,
19:29The resurrection of the body,
19:32And the life everlasting.
19:34Amen.
19:39The Lord be with you,
19:43And with your spirit.
19:46Let us pray.
19:50Lord have mercy upon us,
19:53Christ have mercy upon us,
19:58Lord have mercy upon us,
20:04Our Father,
20:06Who is in heaven,
20:08Holy is your name,
20:10May your kingdom come,
20:13May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,
20:17Give us this day our daily bread,
20:20Forgive us our trespasses,
20:23As we forgive those who trespass against us,
20:27Lead us not into temptation,
20:29But deliver us from evil,
20:32For yours is the kingdom,
20:35The power and the glory,
20:37For ever and ever.
20:40Amen.
20:44O Lord, show your mercy upon us,
20:48And grant us your salvation,
20:53Protect and guide those in authority over us,
20:58And mercifully hear us,
21:00When we call upon you,
21:04Endue your ministers with righteousness,
21:07And make your chosen people joyful,
21:12O Lord, save your people,
21:16And bless your inheritance,
21:20Give peace in our time,
21:23O Lord,
21:25Because there is none other who fights for us,
21:27But only you,
21:29O God.
21:31O God, make clean our hearts within us,
21:35And take not your Holy Spirit from us,
21:46Almighty God who built your church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
21:52Jesus Christ himself being the head cornerstone,
21:56Grant us to be joined together in unity of spirit by their doctrine,
22:02That we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you,
22:07Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
22:09Amen.
22:18O God,
22:20From whom all holy desires,
22:23All good counsels,
22:24And all just works proceed,
22:27Give to your servants that peace,
22:29Which the world cannot give,
22:32That our hearts may be set to obey your commandments,
22:36And also that,
22:37By you,
22:38We,
22:39Being defended from the fear of our enemies,
22:43May pass our time in rest and quietness,
22:46Through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
22:50Amen.
22:55Lighten our darkness,
22:57We beseech you,
22:58O Lord,
22:59And by your great mercy,
23:00Defend us all
23:01From perils and dangers of this night.
23:05For the love of your only Son,
23:07Our Saviour,
23:09Jesus Christ.
23:10Amen.
23:14Almighty God,
23:15Who has given us grace at this time with one accord,
23:19To make our common supplications to you,
23:22And promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name,
23:27You will grant their requests.
23:31Fulfill now,
23:32O Lord,
23:33The desires and petitions of your servants,
23:36As may be most beneficial for them,
23:40Granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
23:44And in the world to come,
23:46Life everlasting.
23:48Amen.
23:51With the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
23:54And the love of God,
23:55And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
23:58Be with us all,
23:59Evermore.
24:01Amen.
