00:00You lose that first game, and I feel like they could lose the fan base very quickly.

00:06I think the players right now can't fall into the mindset of winning or losing the fan base.
00:12The fan base, I'm a firm believer, Jets fans aren't going anywhere.
00:15If they've been able to suffer and digest everything that's happened this far,
00:18they're still going to continue to support you.
00:20What has to happen for this team, especially week one,
00:23if they can start out like how they started out against the Steelers last season,
00:28where we looked at the Jets team, even though they lost, we said, man, they were physical.
00:31They beat the Steelers up up front.
00:33They look like they have a competent quarter play out of Justin Fields.
00:36The defense showed up in key moments.
00:38Yeah, there was a turnover that kind of cost them game,
00:39and you give Aaron Rodgers the ball on 20 with five minutes left in the game, forget about it.
00:43You should win that game.
00:45They lost that, but I think a lot of Jets fans walked out of that game saying,
00:49you know what, they lost, but they look different, right?
00:52That has to happen week one versus the Titans.
00:55This team has to look different and compete through all four quarters,
00:58and I think Aaron Glenn has a conscious understanding that this defense has to arrive.
01:04You have to now understand from a defensive line standpoint, you've got some guys that can play.
01:08You've got Harrison Phillips.
01:09You've got Boggs.
01:11Obviously, you have Will McDonald.
01:15I think with him right now, he's going to be more of a weaponized pass rusher
01:19because I think he struggled against the run, but because they were so depleted,
01:23they had to get him more reps, they had him get out there.
01:25But I think, listen, on third down, he's going to be the guy that's going to be let off the
01:28leash
01:28to go get the quarterback.
01:29I think the secondary is going to be better because of Minko Fitzpatrick,
01:32and Demario obviously is going to anchor the linebacker group.
01:35So I think collectively, this should be a more put-together defense,
01:39and hopefully they can compete.
01:40But I think right now, as a whole, the Jets are built on projections.
01:44They're projecting a lot of guys to kind of arise or show up, and hopefully they do.
01:48But sometimes, you know, we've seen the bad side of it,
01:52but hopefully this young talent they got, they can get it done.
