00:00So there's another heatwave building this week, with temperatures in the southeast likely to peak in the mid-30s on
00:06Wednesday.
00:07But if it's rain you're after, well, there is some of that to come, but it's by no means going
00:11to reach everywhere.
00:12At the moment, the heaviest, most persistent rain is out in the Atlantic.
00:16That is going to arrive for some of us over the next day or so.
00:20But currently, we just have a few outbreaks of mostly light, drizzly rain, really, across parts of Scotland, some parts
00:27of northern England and Wales, and also Northern Ireland, too.
00:30Further south and east, it's staying dry, and there is some sunshine around, especially for East Anglia, the London area,
00:36southern counties.
00:37Here, some blue sky, and with that, then, temperatures rising mid to high 20s, so feeling very warm, if not
00:43hot, really.
00:44A bit fresher than this further north and west, especially with the cloud, and there's a fairly brisk breeze towards
00:49the north of Scotland.
00:51Through the evening, we are going to see that rain I mentioned in the Atlantic spilling its way in, initially
00:56across Northern Ireland, so turning pretty wet here.
00:59And then that rain also making its way across much of Scotland and some parts of Northern England as well.
01:04A few outbreaks of rain overnight for parts of Wales as well.
01:07Further south and east, though, staying dry, lots of clear skies, and it is going to be a warm night.
01:12Temperatures for many holding up in the mid to high teens Celsius.
01:16But we do start Tuesday with quite a wet note across Scotland.
01:20Some relatively high rainfall totals building up 15 to 25 millimetres, perhaps, over western parts of Scotland through the night
01:27and the middle part of Tuesday, at least.
01:30But a lot of the rain will be clearing away towards the northeast as we go through into the afternoon.
01:35Not all of it, though.
01:36There are some other bands of rain that could be following in behind.
01:39Some heavier bands of rain, particularly across western parts of Scotland.
01:43So here we could see some higher totals when you take into account Monday night, Tuesday, and into Wednesday as
01:49well.
01:50Also, watch out for some hefty showers, which could develop through Tuesday afternoon and evening across some central parts of
01:56Scotland.
01:56These could bring some rumbles of thunder as well.
02:00All the while, across much of the rest of the UK, really, it's staying dry.
02:05Some decent, bright, sunny breaks and temperatures, especially towards the southeast, likely to be a few degrees higher than today.
02:12Good chance that we're going to get back into the low 30s, especially around the London area and even further
02:17north temperatures widely in the low 20s.
02:20So feeling very warm despite the fact that there will be cloud, rain, blustery winds, that kind of thing.
02:24As I mentioned, watch out for some hefty showers, particularly around central parts of Scotland later on Tuesday.
02:30All the while, we have a band of rain feeding into, well, the western Isles, really, bringing some heavier rain
02:35here.
02:35That rain then continues across parts of Scotland, but does sink a little bit further south and eastwards as we
02:40go into Wednesday.
02:42The rest of the country really staying dry, especially towards the southeast, more sunshine.
02:47And as I mentioned at the start, temperatures will be peaking this week on Wednesday, a reasonable chance that we're
02:51going to get highs of around 34 Celsius.
02:54So feeling hot indeed, fresher than this towards the northwest, there is slightly cooler air coming in behind that frontal
02:59system that's making its way southeastwards across the country.
