00:08Actually parents do not get to know that their child has grown up. They continue to see the
00:15child as a small child. It is very important that in teenage because the teenager has two
00:22different sets of needs. At times they may want to approach you as a child, seek your guidance,
00:28love and support which you should provide. But at the same time you should be your own self
00:34emotionally comfortable when they wish to move away from you, do some things independently. It
00:40is very important that parents should be able to deal with these emotions because usually what
00:46happens is when the teenager is wanting some space or some time off, parents feel very insecure, sad
00:53and they want to hold back the teenager or punish him or her in subtle ways. This should be avoided.
