00:01Everyone feels very stressed at work these days. However, if you keep few points in mind, you'll
00:08be very effectively able to manage this stress. The first thing is the type of work. Many times,
00:16what I see generally is that people do not pick up jobs and occupations which interest them.
00:22They actually go after what is the norm in the mainstream. Though this may seem lucrative in
00:28the short run, in the long run, it makes you feel very frustrated, stressed and burnt out.
00:34Therefore, try and choose an occupation where your heart lies because if you do that kind of a work,
00:41you would not feel really stressed. The second important key is to maintain a balanced lifestyle
00:49which means that you should have ample time for work, love, fun, relaxation. All this is very
00:57important. If you just become a workaholic, then you would not really be able to last for long
01:03and stress would start taking a toll on your physical and psychological health.
01:08The third interesting thing is good communication skills. Most of the times, stress at work happens
01:16because we start having problems with our subordinates and people who are above us. However,
01:24if you have good communication skills, if you can speak your mind, if you can understand what the
01:30other person is saying and if you can sort out the differences, then many problems at work can be
01:36avoided. Fourthly, when you have certain goals that you are pursuing, it is very important to plan
01:43carefully to break a bigger goal into small, small targets and take one at a time. And it is also
01:50important to re-evaluate your progress. If you fail, it should not mean, you should not tell yourself
01:58that I am a failure. Simply say that I failed at this thing and I will try and improve on
02:03this.
02:03All these things would lead to a stress-free life at work.
