00:00I never feel like I'm trying to win anything with you because the winning is
00:04us ending up on the same side.
00:08How does it feel to love a black woman?
00:10Loving a black woman feels like a privilege.
00:14It feels like I'm seen.
00:15I really, I've only dated black women.
00:18Listen, how does it feel to love this black woman?
00:21You know what?
00:22What was the spark that drew you to me?
00:24Well, I have been ghost following you on Instagram for quite some time.
00:27Slide in the DM.
00:28The slide is shut up.
00:29Yeah.
00:30After I slid into your DMs, sent a picture to my best friend, Shay.
00:34And I was like, girl, how cute is she?
00:37I just thought you were so sweet and cute.
00:39The moment you DM me, I took a screenshot, sent it to my best friend and was like, this
00:43fine girl just slid in my DMs.
00:45What do I do?
00:45You were just very straight to it.
00:47Just like real in a way that I just hadn't experienced before.
00:50I was, I don't know.
00:51It was something I needed to know more.
00:54Have that effect.
00:57So how and when did we define our relationship?
01:00If I'm thinking about the same time, it was a drunken night after we went to T's show.
01:06I think you were, you were a bit more hesitant than I was in the beginning.
01:12Until you found out just who the f*** I was, then you were like, oh.
01:16You had asked if, if, you know, we can kind of do that and I was a bit on the
01:19fence about
01:20it.
01:21And then a week after you were like, no, you were my girlfriend.
01:25Don't worry.
01:26And I was just like, okay, okay, okay.
01:28I was just like nervous about, you know, being in a, in a, in another relationship so
01:33soon.
01:33And it was more of like what, what I thought I should be doing as opposed to what actually
01:37felt good.
01:38We were both pretty, um, had been in relationships prior to, um, and I think we both felt that,
01:45but, um, it just felt right and I wasn't going to allow myself to be caught up in this cage
01:52of what I should be doing because of what had happened or all that bull**** that happens
01:57with people.
01:57You were just too good to pass up and I wasn't going to not shoot my shot.
02:03What's the, um, easiest thing to love about me?
02:06I don't know if there's one thing, I don't know, this, this, this higher love that we
02:11speak of that you kind of exude and, and bring to us and I've, I've never had anyone love
02:16me or I've never knew, known that I deserve love like this.
02:19You were just that in every way, every day and the smallest details and the big things
02:23and you just never miss an opportunity to let me know that I'm loved and Laura, I
02:29with you for that.
02:30I with you for that.
02:40You just look good to me, you're so, you never miss an opportunity to tell me how special
02:47I am and how valid I am.
02:50In this world, when I don't feel that way, I told you I was going to cry.
02:59What's the hardest thing to love about me?
03:00I think the hardest thing to love about you is really closely tied to what's the easiest
03:05thing to love about you.
03:06And sometimes you can get dark and it's not the hardest thing to love about you.
03:09I guess what makes me sad about loving you and I just want to love you out of it and
03:15sometimes
03:15you just need your space to be free and so I think it's more for me is that I feel
03:21not
03:21as useful in those moments.
03:24Like I can't love you out of it.
03:25And I think that's just mainly because I know what that looks like too.
03:30What's the hardest thing about loving me?
03:32Your teeth grinding at night.
03:35That's it?
03:36That's it?
03:37Now I feel like a asshole.
03:39No, you're good.
03:40Your teeth grinding drives me crazy but you're getting better at it.
03:43I'm trying.
03:44Even in my sleep, I'm trying to make you proud.
03:47What are my greatest strengths?
03:49I think one of your greatest strengths is how much you're yourself everywhere you go.
03:54You kind of can't help it.
03:57But it's such a lovely thing because then you allow other people to be themselves.
04:01I mean from the way you obviously dress but just from who you are.
04:05Like you're unafraid to just be yourself despite how anyone will take it.
04:10You also have an amazing style.
04:12That's a strength.
04:13You're just a visionary.
04:15The things that you create that you put out there that you don't put out there that I
04:20get to be blessed enough to be the only person to see.
04:24It leaves me speechless.
04:27I mean it's just you know sometimes you say you're not an artist and it's like I don't.
04:31I've never met someone who breathes creativity and art the way that you do.
04:37And it's just like it's truly a pleasure to watch you.
04:42It's true.
04:44How has our relationship been past 10 months?
04:47I mean it's still new and it feels like we're learning each other.
04:51Like you know we had an argument yesterday that took us out the game for a little bit.
04:56Every single day is a new opportunity for us to learn each other and to write a new page
05:00in our love story, in our book.
05:03We talk all the time about there not being a honeymoon phase and so it doesn't for me feel
05:09a lot.
05:09I think when I first met you I knew that I was going to fall in love with you and
05:13so this
05:15whole time I've just been growing into that self-fulfilling prophecy.
05:17I don't know.
05:18It doesn't feel like growth so much as just like the journey we're on.
05:22Yeah.
05:23I agree.
05:23Like I mean we still feel very new to me.
05:28And but I already know and feel how much we've grown.
05:31I never feel like I'm trying to win anything with you.
05:35Because the winning is us ending up on the same side.
05:38And we always seem to.
05:40And that kind of wanting to be on the same side kind of supersedes all the bullshit like
05:47all your messy clothes all over my room or you know me being saying the wrong things.
05:52Us being on the right side always is the goal.
05:55That is growth personally for me and in our relationship.
05:59Where do you see our relationship in a year?
06:01I'm marrying her.
06:03I'm marrying her.
06:05In a year?
06:05In a year.
06:06Yes.
06:07I'm not mad at that.
06:09But you gotta give me a ring and not a piece of twine.
06:11I need you to know it's real without the diamond.
06:13You know that already.
06:15You know that every day.
06:16You're right.
06:16You're right.
06:16You're right.
06:17You know that.
06:17You're right.
06:18Yeah.
06:18So take the twine.
06:19That twine.
06:20Please.
06:21You get all of this and all you have to give is a diamond.
06:23I think that's an easy trade.
06:25Alright.
06:25I'll go shopping.
06:26Where do you see our relationship in five years?
06:29I see babies and I see happiness upon happiness.
06:33I see very different people than we are today.
06:35I just want all the special things with you.
06:38I see us, yeah, definitely being mothers.
06:40Yeah, I see us just being able to do the things that we're talking about right now.
06:46How does it feel to love a black woman?
06:48Black women are, black women are everything.
06:52And my favorite black woman is everything.
06:55And so it's just important to me.
