13:42For it gives us the reassurance

13:48For those of us who are parents,
13:50Perhaps there is a familiarity of edges.
13:53However much our children may annoy us,
13:56Disappoint us,
13:57And generally disobey us,
13:59We still love them,
14:00And still want the best form.
14:03In the same way,
14:04Our Father,
14:05Who is saddened by our disobedience,
14:07And generally sinful behaviour,
14:10Loves us,
14:11And generally wants the best form of us.
14:16The promise is that God will not withhold from us
14:19The things that we need,
14:20And that will be good for us.
14:23If we need bread,
14:24Then we will be given bread,
14:25We are told.
14:27However be under no illusion,
14:29For God will not give us things,
14:31That are not good for us.
14:33Things that could do us harm,
14:35Perhaps,
14:35And neither will he be in any rush,
14:37To give us the things that we want,
14:39That do not need.

16:08If you have few friends in life.

16:12The words of Jesus,

18:05But goes nowhere.
18:08Around the blind corner,
18:09There is oblivion.
18:11There is no warning,
18:12At the last moment,
18:14Just emptiness.
18:17On the other hand,
18:18There is the old,
18:19Winding track,
18:20Up the mountain.
18:22There is nothing,
18:23Appealing about it at all,
18:24For it is hard,
18:26Cruel,
18:27And lonely.
18:29The only promise,
18:30Is that it is certain,

18:37We often find ourselves,

18:51On this unpromising,

18:56The good news,
18:57For those of us,

18:59Is that we have a guide,
19:00The Holy Spirit,
19:01Who will help us,
19:02Keep to the true path,
19:03Until we are safely home.
