00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:59The book of Job, chapter 27.
05:03Job continued his discourse.
05:06As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice?
05:10The Almighty, who has made my life bitter?
05:13For while my spirit is still in me, and the breath of God is in my nostrils,
05:19my lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will whisper no deceit.
05:25I will never declare that you three are in the right until I die.
05:29I will not set aside my integrity.
05:33I will maintain my righteousness and never let it go.
05:37My conscience will not reproach me for as long as I live.
05:41May my enemy be like the wicked, my adversary like the unrighteous.
05:47For what hope does the godless have when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
05:54Does God listen to his cry when distress overtakes him?
05:59Will he find delight in the Almighty?
06:01Will he call out to God at all times?
06:05I will teach you about the power of God.
06:08What is on the Almighty's mind I will not conceal.
06:13If you yourselves have seen all this, why in the world do you continue this meaningless talk?
06:21This is the portion of the wicked man allotted by God,
06:25the inheritance that evildoers receive from the Almighty.
06:31If his children increase, it is for the sword.
06:34His offspring never have enough to eat.
06:39Those who survive him are buried by the plague, and their widows do not mourn for them.
06:45If he piles up silver like dust, and stores up clothing like mounts of clay,
06:51what he stores up a righteous man will wear, and an innocent man will inherit his silver.
06:59The house he builds is as fragile as a moth's cocoon,
07:03like a hut that a watchman has made.
07:07He goes to bed wealthy, but will do so no more,
07:11for when he opens his eyes it is all gone.
07:15Terrors overwhelm him like a flood.
07:18At night a whirlwind carries him off.
07:21The east wind carries him away, and he is gone.
07:25It sweeps him out of his place.
07:29It hurls itself against him without pity,
07:32as he flees headlong from its power.
07:36It claps its hands at him in derision,
07:38and hisses him away from his place.
07:42This is the word of the Lord.
07:45Thanks be to God.
08:00Mary said,
08:02My soul exalts the Lord,
08:04and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
08:09because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
08:14For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
08:19because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
08:23and holy is his name.
08:25From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
08:32He has demonstrated power with his arm.
08:35He has scattered those whose pride wells up
08:38from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
08:42He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
08:45and has lifted up those of lowly position.
08:48He has filled the hungry with good things,
08:51and has sent the rich away empty.
08:54He has helped his servant Israel,
08:57remembering his mercy,
08:59as he promised to our ancestors,
09:02to Abraham,
09:03and to his descendants for ever.
09:07Glory be to the Father,
09:09and to the Son,
09:10and to the Holy Spirit,
09:11as it was in the beginning,
09:14is now,
09:15and ever shall be,
09:17world without end.
09:19Amen.

10:21and he began to teach them,
10:23saying,
10:25Blessed are the poor in spirit,
10:27for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.
10:32Blessed are those who mourn,
10:34for they will be comforted.
10:38Blessed are the meek,
10:40for they will inherit the earth.

11:19for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.
11:25Blessed are you when people insult you,
11:28and persecute you,
11:29and say all kinds of evil things about you falsely,
11:33on account of me.
11:36Rejoice and be glad,
11:38because your reward is great in heaven,
11:41for they persecuted the prophets before you,
11:44in the same way.
11:47This is the word of the Lord.
11:49Thanks be to God.

24:19and promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name,
24:23you will grant their requests.
24:28Fulfill now, O Lord,
24:30the desires and petitions of your servants,
24:33as may be most beneficial for them,
