Subway's Road Race is back for a second year. However, this time the race will be moving from Central to the East. They are expected to have two races including a six kilometer race and 12 kilometer race. Organizers are expecting speed.

00:00There's been a switch to the Subway Road Race course.
00:03It's moving from the Caldrag Grounds in Central to the Larry Gomes Stadium in the East.
00:08There will be a 12-kilometre or foot-long race and a 6-kilometre race.
00:13Vice President of Subway, Johan Mendoza, provided the details.
00:17This year, the road race, the Subway Road Race, is going to be moving to a new location.
00:22We are going to be in the East of Trinidad, and we are taking this approach because we are a
00:28national brand.
00:29We are in many different cities around the country, and rather than have our race in one location,
00:36our strategy and our approach is to move the race to various parts of the country.
00:42In the East of Trinidad, there aren't a lot of road races, so we want to be the ones to
00:47bring back road racing to the East.
00:50Race course timer Andrea Stuvan and evolution timing is promising speed.
00:54We're bringing in one more mile's expertise for the road management.
00:59which means get ready your shoes because it'll be a PR course.
01:09Both of them, the 12-kilometre and the 6-kilometre, we're already more or less about 95% done.
01:17He's also promising safety on the course for runners.
01:20Kenyan Alex Ikiza has a score to settle after finishing second to Tafari Waljon in the first edition.
01:26The winner earning a trip to Panama this time.
01:30It's not about, I think, I know I have, I am going to start working from today really hard,
01:41and I expect to do the best, and looking forward to actually be the one that is going to run
01:48the Panama Marathon.
01:51Alexia John warned it for the ladies, and she will be back again.
01:54The first year was great. It was in South, you know, South is love. The route and stuff was nice.
02:02And, you know, this year, it is in the East this year, so we're excited to be a part of
02:07it again.
02:08And I will be training again to defend my title. I will be training from today.
02:13Registration begins for this race on a Tuesday, June 30th.
02:17This event is also being done in partnership with the Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
02:22Our partnership with Subway, CADB and Subway, is meant to break that silence.
02:28To break that silence with movement, with visibility, and with the collective strength that we all need to have
02:34to overcome this courage on the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
