Gusty thunderstorms will continue to tumble around the periphery of this week's heat dome, bringing severe wind gusts to areas like the Great Lakes and New England states during the middle of the week.

00:00The ring of fire has been very active.
00:02We're talking about the perimeter around an intense heat wave.
00:07The strong upper level ridge of high pressure has been leading to sinking air.
00:12Lots of heat across the Ohio Valley, Mississippi Valley, and into parts of the Mid-Atlantic.
00:16It will only increase along the I-95.
00:18But around the perimeter of that, intense thunderstorms have been rumbling, bringing damaging wind, large hail.
00:23We're going to continue to see the storms fire on a daily basis and into the night across the upper
00:29Midwest and into the New England states around the bulky perimeter of this strong heat dome.
00:35So this week, a lot of the strongest storms will be in the western and northern part of the plains,
00:39gusty winds, and then tumbling, as we can see through this Wednesday evening forecast, in through the New England states.
00:44We'll do it again on Thursday and Friday around the perimeter of this strong, high-pressure system.
00:50Very active weather for some, not much relief from the heat, though, under the core of the heat dome.
