AccuWeather's Geoff Cornish warns of the threat of severe weather from the central Plains to the Midwest and parts of the Northeast this week with the chances of hail, flooding and even tornadoes.
Transcript
00:00There's a severe weather threat every day this week.
00:03Wednesday, the focus shifts south as a new disturbance enters the plains.
00:07We're talking central Texas through Oklahoma into Missouri, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa.
00:13That's where storms could turn severe fast with large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes.
00:19At the same time, near-record warmth and increasing humidity in the mid-Atlantic will fuel drenching downpours.
00:25Not every storm will be severe, but the storms will slow travel and bring gusty winds.
00:30Then Thursday, the plains threat pushes into the Midwest from northern Arkansas all the way up through southern Michigan.
00:37More storms capable of strong winds and hail.
00:39Behind that, we're tracking the final storm system in the series, digging down across the Rockies into the plains.
00:45By Friday afternoon and evening, this will bring a new round of severe weather.
00:49Central Texas up through parts of Iowa are in the zone for damaging winds, hail, and other tornado threats.
00:53This all slides east Saturday, where the strong cold front will encounter very warm air, sparking storms through the Ohio
01:00Valley.
01:01Multiple waves of storms mean flooding could become a serious problem, especially in spots that get hit more than once.
01:07So if you've got travel or outdoor plans through the end of the week, you'll want to stay weather aware,
01:11because we have several more days of this before a break.
