00:08They're not going to reach their maximum strength and coverage area during the afternoon and evening.

00:16Nocturnal thunderstorms, here's the process.
00:19It begins with the heating that occurs during the afternoon and nighttime hours.
00:23Look at the heat Tuesday from West Texas into the Southwest states.
00:26All that heat comes around a big area of high pressure across West Texas.
00:30And eventually that heat gets underneath that West-Northwest flow aloft that brings in cooler air.
00:37Warm air at the surface, cooler air aloft, thunderstorms form.
00:41And because of that process, those thunderstorms actually strengthen during the overnight hours.
00:47Look at overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
00:49A powerful line of thunderstorms strengthens well after midnight.
00:53Then they weaken only the reform again Wednesday night.
00:58Now, in nocturnal thunderstorms, here are the main impacts.
