A pleasant stretch will end with a midweek round of strong thunderstorms in the Plains on Wednesday.
Transcript
00:00Rounds of severe weather return to the plains here into midweek.
00:03Tuesday, look out for a new disturbance to reach the Black Hills, western South Dakota,
00:08firing up strong storms in the early to mid-afternoon,
00:11and they'll be rumbling east into the evening through the rest of South Dakota into southern parts of Minnesota.
00:16We're very concerned about damaging wind, large hail, but also, not just on Tuesday,
00:21but even into Wednesday, flash flooding in some parts of the north-central U.S.
00:25due to the heavy rain moving through with these storms.
00:28So it'll be very warm, low to mid-90s in advance of these storms in South Dakota and Nebraska,
00:33and they're going to get going on Tuesday, becoming more widespread into Tuesday evening.
00:37And then as we get into Wednesday, the risk area, it shifts a little bit.
00:40We'll still have action up into Montana, down to Nebraska, western Kansas, central Kansas,
00:45and then eventually into southern parts of Wisconsin.
00:47Chicago gets into the severe weather risk area, at least to some extent, into the day Thursday.
00:52So Wednesday, you can see numerous storms in the upper Midwest,
00:55and some of these storms are going to be gusty with strong winds,
00:58but the flood concern is significant in the northern plains through Thursday afternoon.
01:02and we'll see you later.
