00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:01Now there's still some rain in the forecast, but very little, certainly not enough to make
00:07much of a difference of the very dry summer we've had so far, especially across England
00:11and Wales.
00:12Now this evening there will still be some showers moving their way southwards, but they
00:17become mostly isolated as we head our way towards dawn.
00:21Very dry for most overnight, a mix of cloud, also some clearer skies.
00:25The clearest skies are likely to be across Scotland, northeast England.
00:29This is where temperatures are going to be dipping down a little more than what we've
00:32had in recent nights.
00:34Scotland, rural areas could see temperatures around towards the mid-single figures, but
00:39most areas are going to see a slightly cooler night compared to what we had last night.
00:44So feeling a little fresher first thing on Monday, still mostly dry, quite a lot of sunshine across
00:50many eastern areas, eventually clouding over from the west just as some showers drift their
00:55way eastwards.
00:56These showers will be mostly light and becoming fairly isolated by the afternoon.
01:00So many areas it will be a drier day, certainly drier than perhaps what we've had this afternoon.
01:06Some fairly decent sunny spells still across much of England and Wales.
01:10Temperatures starting to increase a little more compared to what we had yesterday, highs
01:14around the low to mid-20s across much of England and Wales.
01:17And even Northern Ireland, eastern areas of Scotland will see a slightly warmer day as we
01:22head through into Monday.
01:25Now later on into the evening, still some rain, still some showers, mostly drifting in to
01:30Northern Ireland and pushing its way north-eastwards.
01:32So starting to turn quite wet across Scotland, north-west England through the early hours of
01:37the morning.
01:37So a thicker cloud across Wales might produce some light outbreaks of rain and drizzle across
01:42the Welsh hills.
01:43But still many areas of England will remain dry away from the far north though, where it'll
01:49be quite wet and also some heavier downpours, especially as that rain pushes up over any
01:54higher ground.
01:55With the added cloud, temperatures aren't going to be dropping away as much as they will do
01:59the night previous as well.
02:00So a slightly milder night, if not turning quite warm again across parts of southern areas
02:05of England and Wales.
02:07Then on Tuesday, very much a north-south split.
02:11Very wet at times across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern areas of England.
02:16This rain will clear its way north-eastwards.
02:19Still quite cloudy following on behind though, with some showers and places, but hopefully
02:24with some brighter spells.
02:26Now elsewhere across England and Wales, still very dry, very little rain in the forecast.
02:32Temperatures creeping up once again, pushing into the high 20s for many areas, so starting
02:37to feel very warm once more.
02:39And elsewhere, even across Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland, even though it's going
02:43to be quite a wet start, should brighten up into the afternoon.
02:45Temperatures still in the low 20s here, so not feeling too bad if you catch any of the
02:49brighter weather in through the afternoon.
02:52Now for the early part of next week, it's still very much that north-south split.
02:57We've got low pressure just sweeping its way eastwards across the far north of the UK,
03:01so still continuing to bring cloud and more rain here.
03:05But towards the south, still very little rain.
03:08High pressure very much dominating.
03:10And as it builds across eastern areas of Europe, we start to get a bit of a southerly as we
03:15head into Wednesday, and once again starting to see some summer heat returning.
03:19In fact, Wednesday's probably going to be the peak of the heat, pushing into that 30 degrees
03:24Celsius mark once again in some areas of England and Wales.
03:27Still, temperatures not quite as high in the north, where we'll see a bit more cloud and
03:31some rain and some showers.
03:33Though if you're not a fan of the heat, it does look like Wednesday is likely to be the
03:37peak before temperatures then start to come back down towards the end of the week.
03:41So a return of most likely heatwave conditions before temperatures start to drop off again.
03:46So only a brief spell of heat to come this week.
