00:00Hello, good morning. Today's weather very much depends on your postcode today. Some
00:05of us will be reaching for the sun cream in the hot, humid weather, but others will notice
00:09a slightly fresher and cooler feel. And it's mostly under where we see cloudier skies,
00:14particularly across the north, and this will bring us some spells of rain across some areas
00:19of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and perhaps just a few showers edging into northern parts
00:22of England and parts of Wales, but any showers fairly light and quite hit or miss. A slightly
00:28better day ahead across the far north of Scotland, though often cloudy, still just a few showers
00:32creeping into northwest coastal areas. But across much of the south and southeast, plenty
00:38of quite intense sunshine, high UV levels here and temperatures higher compared to what we
00:43saw yesterday, pushing into the mid-30s for quite a few areas of the southeast, also the
00:48London region and East Anglia. But notice that north-south split in the temperatures, so actually
00:53parts of Northern Ireland, eastern areas of Scotland are going to see a cooler day compared
00:58to what we saw yesterday. Now in through the evening, still a bit of a north-south split.
01:04This area of cloud and rain which has persisted with us for the last couple of days, any rain
01:08associated with that eventually fizzling away and we've just got this band of cloud slowly
01:13sinking its way southwards, perhaps producing the odd light shower at times. It's still towards
01:17the northwest where we'll see the bulk of the showers moving through, these turning a little
01:21heavy at times. Across the north, it will be a cooler night under clearer skies, especially
01:26after a warm start this morning. But still anywhere to the south of this cloud, it's another warm
01:31and muggy night. Temperatures not really dropping much past 16 to 18 degrees, so a little bit
01:37uncomfortable for sleeping I'm afraid. Now heading into Thursday, the good news is if you're not
01:43a fan of the heat, overall temperatures will come down to a slightly cooler day, though it's
01:47still going to feel warm in the sunshine. Perhaps the odd shower across the south, but still
01:52very light showers, not much rain associated with these at all. Once again, most of the
01:57showers across the north where they could still be heavy, and the odd one or two elsewhere
02:01across England and Wales. But for the majority, it's still going to remain dry, and still with
02:06some sunny spells, especially by the afternoon if you saw a cloudier start. Take a look at those
02:11temperatures though, they will come down. Still across the far south, these pushing into the
02:15mid to high 20s, so warm where we see the sunshine. But for most, turning more towards average for this
02:21point in July. Now for many areas, you can see it's a cooler day, but there are some areas
02:27which will see temperatures a touch higher. Some areas of Northern Ireland, perhaps the far north
02:31of Scotland. But overall, it is going to be a much cooler day compared to what we'll see this
02:36afternoon. In terms of rainfall though, there's still not much on the card. Still a few showers
02:42pushing into the northwest, as low pressure towards the north of the country there will
02:46swing in some at times. But for a lot of the country, high pressure still holding on.
02:51So any signs of significant rainfall, I'm afraid there just isn't much at the moment.
