00:00Today everything changes for this terrified rescue. This is Cindy. We rescued her three
00:05weeks ago and it hasn't been easy. She's still scared, still unsure and she's nowhere near ready
00:13for a forever home. But we've noticed something. She gets confidence from our golden retriever
00:18Kobe. So with the help of Kobe and a professional trainer, we're hoping to build Cindy's confidence
00:24enough for her to be ready for her forever home by the end of this video.
00:30So, we're starting off with our professional dog trainer Dilnaz. I think it's safe to say
00:34Kobe and Moki recognise her. And then guess who even came up to see Dilnaz?
00:49Dilnaz is going to work with Cindy today and then give us some confidence building games
00:53we can use with her throughout the week.
00:56All I'm going to do and I'm going to, because of how she is with Kobe, I'm just going to
01:01introduce one at a time. So I'm going to introduce it to both of them so that she sees it's
01:05not
01:05something to be scared of.
01:07Dilnaz is going to be doing the cone game. It's quite simple with how it works.
01:10And then treat inside each one and see if she can work out how to get it. So this is
01:15a bit
01:15of problem solving.
01:16So we've officially put Cindy up for adoption, but before we feel comfortable sending her
01:21to her forever home, there's still some confidence building left to do. She was getting a little
01:26bit confused, but Dilnaz knows exactly how to deal with this.
01:29So I'll open it and I'll let her have it, because I don't want it to be too hard at
01:33the
01:33moment. And then you just repeat it.
01:35After watching Kobe problem solve, she did start to understand what to do.
02:02Cindy really started to engage with the cone. And once Dilnaz left, we could already start
02:07to see her confidence building. Look at this one, all brave, upstairs with the pack.
02:13Look at her exploring the house. It's pretty insane to see her doing this. Three weeks ago,
02:18she'd be frozen in one spot. She wouldn't even leave her crate. But now, look at her. Good girl,
02:24Cindy, girl. She's so cute. She even took her newfound bravery to another level. She's just jumped
02:31onto the bed. Cindy, come on off. No, come on. Cindy, it's okay. Please don't pee on it. This is
02:38my bed.
02:38Come on, Cindy, girl. Come on off. Cindy, come on. She won't come off.
02:43Ella then came home, and bearing in mind she used to run past her, this is what she's like now.
02:49Ella's just come back. Cindy's finally come off the bed, thank God. Look at her loving the pets
02:54with the whole pack. Look at her. Oh, she's so cute. So, the training continues with Cindy. We're
03:01determined to keep this momentum going and help her come out her shell even more so she can be
03:06ready for her forever home. We have got post-it notes here, and we're going to be putting treats
03:12inside them. The idea here is that Cindy will need to figure out how to get the treat. She's over
03:20there
03:20at the moment, so the first thing we need to do is hopefully get her to engage. Let's see. If
03:25she
03:25doesn't come over, I have got an idea. Okay, she's not coming over, and that's fine, so I'm going to
03:32start feeding Kobe, and usually that gets her to come over. And look at that. And she's gone straight
03:40to the post-it notes, which is great. Cindy is doing amazing. As much as we'd love to keep her,
03:46unfortunately, we can't. There's so many other dogs like her that need help, and if we kept Cindy,
03:51we couldn't help the others. So, whilst we're working hard on making Cindy more confident and
03:56trusting, we got our first inquiry for adoption, but there was one issue. The people who inquired
04:02about Cindy have cats, so we needed to figure out whether she'd be suitable in a home with them.
04:06Luckily, our neighbor has two lovely cats and even a big friendly German Shepherd, so we had the
04:12perfect opportunity to safely test how Cindy would react.
04:15Good girl, Cindy. I broke it.
04:17The whole letter's broken. There's the cat.
04:20Oh, yeah. Cindy, come on.
04:22I don't think she's going to react.
04:23Come on. Let's see. Come on, Cindy.
04:26Thank you so much for this.
04:30Good girl. Come on.
04:32Come on, Cindy. Good girl.
04:36These cats are obviously used to living with dogs, so this is perfect for her. She looks a little unsure,
04:41but isn't reacting to the cats at all, which is great.
04:46She doesn't care, does she?
04:49Okay.
04:53There you go.
04:54So, we can now say Cindy is cat tested. Let's carry on with her training now to help her build
04:59as much
04:59confidence as possible. So, the work that we're going to be doing with Cindy today is called noise box.
05:05Right now, it's literally just an empty box and we're simply going to place some treats in it.
05:10And the idea is she's going to submerse her whole head into it to try and get the treat. Now,
05:16this is quite scary for her. You can see she's hesitant because she's got to place
05:20her whole head inside. It's quite a big ask.
05:23We tried to get Cindy to put her head into the box, but with no luck. So, we had a
05:27plan.
05:28We're going to bring our helper Coby in. He's just waiting for the call up because he's really
05:34good at showing her what to do. So, let's show Coby doing it. Come on then.
05:41Real elegant, Coby. So, we'll do this a few times with Coby and you can already see she's looking
05:46more interested. Come on, man. She got up. We took Coby away and thought this has to be it.
05:52Okay, so now he's shown her. Let's see if she'll go for it.
05:59No, sat back down. That's all right. Coby gone. Coby, you stay here. And then we're just going to try
06:05and get her up because she really needs to stand up to be able to get her head into it.
06:08So,
06:08first thing I'm going to try and do is try and get her up. And so now she's up. I'm
06:14going to very
06:15slowly introduce the box alongside a tree. Just trying to associate the box with something positive.
06:22She's really hesitant, which is fine. We want to set her up for success, not failure. So,
06:28she doesn't put her head into the box yet. That's okay. We tried doing this very slowly for about 20
06:33minutes with her. We even got Ella to have a go, but we failed. It's okay though, because later on,
06:38we're going to be bringing Dilnaz back to help show us exactly how to do it. We didn't want to
06:43end the day on a bad note. So, we decided to push the boundaries and take Cindy on her first
06:48ever
06:48off lead walk. We are going to put the harness on Cindy. So, we're actually going to take Cindy
06:55for a short car ride before we take her on the off lead walk. The last time she was in
07:00the car,
07:00she hated it and was really scared. So, we want to help build her confidence in it first.
07:05This is actually the first time I've ever even tried to lift Cindy up. So, let's see how this goes.
07:11Can I get Cindy? Good girl. Okay, that's okay. Good girl. There you go.
07:17I can see her in the back. She looks adorable. We're literally just going to go on the shortest drive
07:21for just something nice and easy. I think having Kobe there is going to be a massive help for her,
07:26because it just shows another dog being nice and calm. Ella just showed me that actually when I went to
07:31pick her up, she air bit me. I had no idea when I picked her up that she did that.
07:35So, next time I do
07:35it, I'm going to do it a lot slower. I think I wasn't gentle enough. We literally drove around the
07:40block for a couple minutes. Cindy seemed to be doing really well with Kobe. We then got home.
07:44Let's see how she is. Okay, she did really well. Hang on. Good girl. Last time she jumped out the
07:50car,
07:50so I'm not going to bother trying to pick her up again. Come on, Kobe. There we go. Good. Well
07:55done,
07:55dogs. I think she's ready for her big walking journey. So, it's the next day and time for Cindy's
08:01first off-lead walk. I picked her up very gently and slowly this time. You can do it very slowly,
08:06Cindy.
08:12Nice and easy. Picked her up like a package. And no air bite. We're off to a good start. We
08:18have
08:18only got a 15 minute journey to get there. We have arrived at the place. We have got horrible,
08:25horrible, horrible UK weather. Come on then. If you're wondering how we're going to do this safely,
08:31we've rented an entire enclosed field for the dogs so there's nowhere for her to escape. The gate is
08:38open. Come on then, Cindy. Good shake off from stress. So, we're just going to let her get her
08:45bearings a little bit first before we actually go ahead and let her off. It's pretty incredible to
08:50see how much more confident Cindy is after three weeks of being with us. She's come a long way since
08:56we first got her. We're rescuing dogs just like Cindy this year and you can support us by
09:01simply clicking that subscribe button. We're trying to reach 1 million subscribers by the end of the
09:06year. Thank you. Not surprisingly, I think she's just going to follow Kobe. Do you know what?
09:14She's off. Let's see how she does. Oh, she's already going. It's pretty insane to think
09:22from the first time that we rescued her, like we've even gotten to this point.
09:29We weren't even sure if we could walk her. Now look. So, let's test something. Let's go for a
09:33little walk down here and let's see if she follows us. I think if anything, she'll be following Kobe.
09:38But let's see because I'm curious. Come on, Cindy. Come on. Good girl. Good girl. Look at her.
09:48Oh my God. Look at her. Oh, that is so cute. Oh, that is so cute to see. So, you
09:56can see here as well.
09:57There's like a jungle gym apparatus type thing. So, I am going to try and go on there later with
10:02Cindy.
10:03Let's see if she'll go on it. Oh, look at Kobe. Oh, Cindy did not like that. Oh, look at
10:10him. Oh, she's getting scared.
10:12Kobe's got the zoomies. Oh my God. Look at her. Look at her go. Cindy is absolutely loving all this
10:20freedom. Let's go to the play area and see if she'll even be brave enough to go on to it.
10:24Come on,
10:24Cindy. Come on, Kobe. Come. I wonder if Cindy wants to come in. No? All right. You're going to come
10:30out?
10:30Come on there. Whoa. Good boy. So, the jungle gym thing very slowly, not loudly. I'm going to do it
10:37with
10:37Kobe. She's already coming over to have a sniff, which is good. Kobe loves it. Kobe knows what to do.
10:43Oh. Oh my God. Come on, Kobe, up. Come on, Kobe, up. Oh, cute boy. Do you know what I
10:51love about
10:52Kobe? Genuinely, he'll do anything that I'll tell him to do, bless you. He's got so much trust in me.
10:56Oh, is she going to come up? She's having a sniff. I think she's more curious as to what it
11:03is.
11:03She's obviously never seen anything like this before in her life. Ella's having a fun time
11:07following around the whole thing. It makes us so happy to see her so happy. But now let's go back
11:15home. We have one final session with Dilnaz to give her that little last confidence booster
11:20before we find her forever home. We're starting off with Noise Box again since we failed to do it
11:26with her last time. The first thing Dilnaz got us to do is cut down the sides of the box.
11:30You can see
11:31how much smaller it is compared to last time. So hopefully it's not as scary for her.
11:36Straight in there.
11:39And now I'm just going to do three. So we start with one at a time and then I'm just
11:45going to sprinkle
11:45some. Beautiful, beautiful. That's what I was hoping for. So you start with one and then add more.
11:55Okay baby. So because she was scared of the box at full height, we have to work with where she's
12:03at.
12:04We don't want to keep forcing her to do something. She's gone so much braver. We don't want to keep
12:10forcing her to do something she's really, really not happy with. Dilnaz continued working with Cindy
12:17Cindy and she did amazing. It's not a full noise box yet. Her head isn't fully submerged,
12:23but it's a huge step forward and everything is always at Cindy's pace. But while she's building
12:28confidence, what's happening with her adoption applications? Is Cindy actually going to find
12:33her forever home? So we have had Cindy for a few weeks now and we've had quite a few applications
12:39for
12:40her. Look how cute she is. She's actually letting me pet her now. And we're working with Fetch A Dog,
12:44which is the rescue that she came from. The way that it works is they get in person home checks.
12:49So me and Ella and other people at the rescue as well are basically going to these homes and,
12:55you know, just making sure that they're suitable for her. We're still trying to find her perfect
12:59home. And if you think that is you, then Cindy's adoption link is going to be down below in the
13:05description because she's still waiting for her forever home. But of course she'll be staying with
13:09us and we're going to continue working with her until she does go.
13:12Thank you so much for watching. If you enjoyed this video, why not watch another? This video
