00:00This is our rescue puppy Sandy and in six days a couple are coming to meet Sandy for a possible
00:05adoption but for that to happen there's still some work we need to do and this starts in town.
00:11Sandy went on her first ever walk two weeks ago. She's progressed really well since but is still a
00:16bit unsure around new people. So we're going to take things really slow with her and we're simply
00:21going to let her take everything in first without forcing her to walk anywhere. She started off
00:26really well but when we got closer to the main section she began to feel unsure of everything.
00:44She then started backing off towards Ella and her confidence was at an all-time low
00:50but we did bring our dog Kobe to try and show her that everything is okay.
00:56All of a sudden a kinder man appeared out of nowhere and wanted to pet the dogs. It was
01:00Sandy's first proper interaction with a stranger.
01:13Sandy was doing really well and Kobe was making sure he was involved too
01:17but she was about to face a bigger test meeting another dog.
01:28That interaction made her feel a bit unsure. There was a lot of stimulation around
01:32but I had a trick up my sleeve.
01:35Treats.
01:38She loves her treats.
01:40The goal here was just to get her closer to all the people and reward her for doing it.
01:48She was a bit unsure but we persevered and she started to show some signs of curiosity.
01:53So scary is it?
02:01Good girl darling.
02:03There was even another dog there which she wasn't worried about.
02:07Sandy did really well for her first time in town.
02:10We're going to be taking her to town again later in the video and the goal is to get her
02:14comfortable
02:14enough to go into a shop and have her first ever puppuccino.
02:18The next day is a training day.
02:20When we spoke to the potential couple coming to adopt Sandy,
02:23they told us that they really want to train Sandy and teach her new tricks.
02:27We explained that Sandy's really smart and we thought it would be amazing to show off some of her tricks
02:31to prove just how smart she is.
02:33The first trick we're attempting to teach her is down.
02:38After repeating some similar movements again and again,
02:41Sandy showed how smart she is and we got to a point where she was able to do this.
02:57So whilst it's not perfect, it's pretty impressive how quickly she got that.
03:01We still have one more trick to teach her but first she deserved a break and a play with all
03:05her friends.
03:11The next trick we wanted to teach her is paw.
03:19This didn't start off great because I was teaching it wrong,
03:22but when I started to hold the treat near her nose,
03:25she would start trying to paw it.
03:26I would then reward her every time she just moved her paw.
03:30Yes!
03:31See if she did it?
03:35Yes!
03:37Yes!
03:40She was getting it, so then I introduced the word paw.

03:48I started to think I was Cesar Millan with the training,
03:51but I was quickly humbled.
03:53She's basically got it.

04:01Okay, so she would only paw the treat in my hand.
04:04She didn't quite understand paw,
04:05but this will do.
04:06It doesn't have to be perfect.
04:08We also sent a quick message to Jenny,
04:10Sandy's potential new adoption family,
04:12just to help sweeten them up a bit.
04:14I mean, come on,
04:14she's an adorable puppy.
04:17Things were going really well.
04:18Jenny and her partner Rob were coming to visit Sandy on day six,
04:22but Sandy still had a lot to work on,
04:23and day three was going to be a big test for her.
04:27When Sandy first met our dogs,
04:29she was really nervous around them.
04:31We also fostered another dog,
04:32and she also shut down when meeting her.
04:38So today, we're going to expose her to a little bit more.
04:41We're going to a nature reserve where we know has a lot of dogs,
04:44but we're going at a time where there should be some dogs,
04:46but not loads.
04:47So that it's not too overwhelming for her,
04:50we've also brought along Kobe,
04:51just to show her how it's done.
04:54And Sandy had her first test already with this dog.
05:03But she didn't show much interest,
05:06so we carried on walking until we found another dog.
05:33And she did pretty good.
05:35She did do one little moan.
05:36We let her watch them walk away just to take everything in.
05:44She then came across another dog,
05:46but we also wanted to teach her
05:48that she doesn't need to say hello to every dog,
05:50and it's okay for them to just walk past.
05:55Kobe and Sandy were having a great time,
05:57but her biggest test was coming up.
05:59There was a friendly dog up ahead,
06:01but she loved to bark.
06:02It was just an extra bit of stimulation,
06:04and we weren't sure how Sandy would deal with it.
06:21And then the dog started coming thick and fast,
06:24but how will Sandy cope with so many new faces around her?
06:48She did amazing.
06:49Even walks past this dog like it was nothing.
06:52This was a big win,
06:53because it meant that we can now tell Jenny and Rob
06:55that Sandy is fine with other dogs on walks.
07:00Good job. Yes. Good job.
07:02We let Sandy enjoy herself for the rest of the walk,
07:04have a play around with Kobe,
07:06and now we're only two days away from Sandy's possible adoption.
07:09This quickly made us realize
07:11that Sandy has never had a random person come into the house before.
07:14So I got my friend Jacob to come around to see how she reacts.
07:23Sandy's so needy.
07:31I know it's a madhouse at hours.
07:33Most importantly though,
07:34Sandy was completely fine with Jacob,
07:36but it made us realize that we should probably introduce the dogs individually
07:39when Jenny comes around.
07:59Crazy dogs.
08:00Anyway,
08:00Jenny and Rob have dogs in their family,
08:02but don't actually have a dog themselves.
08:04So we took Sandy on a walk just to see if she'd be okay,
08:07and she loved it.
08:08No surprise.
08:09And one day before the big meeting,
08:11we tried to take Sandy to town again.
08:14This time with the goal of getting her into a shop
08:16and trying her first ever Pappuccino.
08:19Things didn't start so great.
08:21We got to the same spot,
08:22and Sandy lost her confidence again.
08:27But I had an even bigger trick up my sleeve this time,
08:31boiled chicken.
08:33Oh no.
08:36Now that Sandy knew I had this,
08:38I started walking her down the high street,
08:40and before she knew it,
08:41she was in the middle of town.
08:49She was doing well,
08:50even managed to start sniffing around.
08:52We managed to accidentally go during market day,
08:54and it was pretty busy.
08:55So we walked Sandy further into town,
08:57and then stopped off to let her take everything in.
09:06She even managed to meet another dog too,
09:09but there was still one more hurdle she needed to jump through,
09:12going into a shop,
09:13and having a Pappuccino.
09:26She's really living her best life.
09:28Now we're on to our final activity for Sandy before the big day,
09:31and that is of course,
09:32a bath.

10:04She's got the same piece.
10:15Afterward, she had the mandatory zoomies.
10:18Ah, Sandy, hey, hey, oh.
10:22And then went downstairs to show off how nice she smells.
10:27We're going to miss you, Sandy.
10:30And the next day was the one.
10:32We said our goodbyes to Sandy,
10:33just in case she did go,
10:35and in comes Sandy's potential new family,
10:38Jenny and Rob.
10:41But after seeing how excited all the dogs got with Jacob,
10:44we let our dogs,
10:45Kobe and Mogi,
10:45say hello first,
10:46and then we're going to let Sandy in with our other foster,
10:49Maggie.
10:53Jenny and Rob were clearly massive dog people.
10:55They were also so friendly,
10:57and we got a really good vibe from them.
10:58But now it's time for them to meet their potential dog.
11:01Hopefully, Sandy likes them too.

11:30We couldn't believe Sandy's reaction.
11:32It's as if she knew they were her new family.
11:34We then let all the dogs in for a bit of chaos.
11:37But before we asked Jenny and Rob if they wanted Sandy,
11:39we had one more thing to do.
11:41I wanted to show them the tricks Sandy had learned.
11:44Hopefully, she doesn't decide to show me up.

12:00so we even decided to show them how she waits for her food.

12:09Not surprisingly,
12:10Jenny and Rob decided they wanted Sandy.
12:13We felt like they're the perfect couple for her.
12:15All the dogs came in to say goodbye,
12:17and it was time for Sandy to go off with her forever family.

12:28A few days later, we got updates from Jenny and Rob.
