00:13In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:19We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:28Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
00:38and lead us into healing and life everlasting. Let us pray.
00:44May. Grant, O Lord, that we may always revere and love your holy name.
00:53For you never deprive of your guidance, those you set firm on the foundation of your love.
01:00Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God, forever and
01:08ever. Amen.
01:11A reading from the Second Book of the Kings
01:15Jehoiakim was 18 years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for three months in Jerusalem.
01:23His mother's name was Nehushta, daughter of Elenathan from Jerusalem.
01:31He did what is displeasing to the Lord, just as his father had done.
01:37At that time, the troops of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, marched on Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
01:48Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, himself came to attack the city while his troops were besieging it.
01:56Then, Jehoiakim, king of Judah, surrendered to the king of Babylon.
02:03He and his mother, his officers, his nobles, and his eunuchs, and the king of Babylon took them prisoner.
02:14This was in the eighth year of king Nebuchadnezzar.
02:19The latter carried off all the treasures of the temple of the Lord and the treasures of the royal palace,
02:27and broke up all the golden furnishings that Solomon, king of Israel, had made for the sanctuary of the Lord.
02:35As the Lord had foretold, he carried off all Jerusalem into exile, all the nobles and all the notables.
02:46Ten thousand of these were exiled, with all the blacksmiths and metal workers.
02:53Only the poorest people in the country were left behind.
02:57He deported Jehoiakim to Babylon, as also the king's mother, his eunuchs, and the nobility of the country.
03:07And he made them all leave Jerusalem for exile in Babylon.
03:11All the men of distinction, seven thousand of them, the blacksmiths and the metal workers, one thousand of them,
03:20all of them, men capable of bearing arms, were led into exile in Babylon, by the king of Babylon.
03:29The king of Babylon made Matthiah, Jehoiakim's uncle, king in succession to him, and changed his name into Zedekiah.
03:42The word of the Lord.
03:44Thanks be to God.
03:47For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us.
03:50For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us.
03:53O God, the nations have invaded your land.
03:57They have profaned your holy temple.
04:00They have made Jerusalem a heap of ruins.
04:03They have handed over the bodies of your servants as food to feed the birds of heaven.
04:09And the flesh of your faithful to the beasts of the earth.
04:13For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us.
04:17They have poured out blood like water in Jerusalem,
04:21leaving no one to bury the dead.
04:24We have become the taunt of our neighbours,
04:27the mockery and scorn of those who surround us.
04:31How long, O Lord, will you be angry forever?
04:35How long will your anger burn like fire?
04:38For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us.
04:42Do not hold the guilt of our fathers against us.
04:46Let your compassion hasten to meet us,
04:50for we are in the depths of distress.
04:53For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us.
04:57O God, our Saviour, come to our help.
05:02Come for the sake of the glory of your name.
05:05O Lord our God, forgive us our sins.
05:09Rescue us for the sake of your name.
05:11For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us.
05:19Alleluia, alleluia.
05:21All who love me will keep my words,
05:24and my Father will love them,
05:26and we will come to them.
05:28Alleluia.
05:31The Lord be with you.
05:33A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
05:37Glory to you, O Lord.
05:40Jesus said to his disciples,
05:42It is not those who say to me,
05:45Lord, Lord, who will enter the kingdom of heaven,
05:48but the person who does the will of my Father in heaven.
05:55When the day comes, many will say to me,
05:58Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,
06:02cast out demons in your name,
06:05work up many miracles in your name,
06:08and I shall tell them to their faces,
06:10I have never known you.
06:13Away from me, you evil man.
06:16Therefore, everyone who listens to these words of mine
06:20and acts on them
06:22will be like a sensible man
06:24who built his house on rock.
06:28Rain came down,
06:30floods rose,
06:33gales blew and held themselves against that house,
06:36and it did not fall.
06:38It was founded on rock.
06:41But anyone who listens to these words of mine
06:43and does not act on them
06:45will be like a stupid man
06:47who built his house on sand.
06:50Rain came down,
06:52floods rose,
06:54gales blew
06:55and struck that house,
06:57and it fell,
06:59and what a fall it had.
07:02Jesus had now finished what he wanted to say,
07:06and his teaching made a deep impression on the people
07:09because he taught them with authority
07:12and not like their own scribes.
07:19The gospel of the Lord.
07:21Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
07:27Jesus embodied and lived what he spoke.
07:30He had authority,
07:32and the people knew it,
07:34and it touched their hearts.
07:38We are called to live the word of God,
07:40to be like that sensible man
07:41building his house on rock,
07:43building our lives on the gospel,
07:46not just on our instincts and ego and reactions,
07:50but to keep letting the word of God change us,
07:53convert us,
07:54to be born again,
07:55as Jesus said.
07:57We need to be born again.
07:59We need to make fresh darts.
08:02We need to make breakthroughs,
08:04and not be stuck.
08:06So we pray for God's grace
08:07to enable us to surrender to his will
08:10so that he can lead us
08:12as the good shepherd into life.
08:20Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
08:22for to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
08:25which earth has given human hands have made,
08:27will become for us the bread of life.
08:30Blessed be God forever.
08:33Amen.
08:36Amen.
08:40Amen.
08:51Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
08:54for to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
08:56Fruit of divine work of human hands,
08:59it will become our spiritual drink.
09:01Blessed be God forever.
09:03Amen.
09:09Amen.
09:14Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
09:16that my sacrifice and yours be acceptable to God,
09:19our almighty Father.
09:21May the Lord accept this sacrifice at our hands
09:24for the praise and glory of God's name,
09:27for our good and the good of God's holy church.
09:34Receive, O Lord, the sacrifice of conciliation and praise,
09:38and grant that cleansed by this action
09:41we may make offering of a heart pleasing to you
09:45through Christ our Lord.
09:47Amen.
10:06The Lord be with you.
10:08Lift up your hearts.
10:11Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
10:15It is truly right and just,
10:17our duty and our salvation.
10:20Always and everywhere to give you thanks,
10:23Father most holy,
10:24to your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
10:27your work, whom you made all things,
10:30whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer,
10:33incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin.
10:37Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people,
10:39he stretched out his hands as he endued his passion,
10:43so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the resurrection.
10:48And so, with the angels and all the saints,
10:50we declare your glory as with one voice we acclaim,
10:54holy, holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts,
10:58heaven and earth are full of your glory.
11:01Hosanna in the highest.
11:03Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
11:06Hosanna in the highest.
11:09You are indeed holy, O Lord,
11:11the fount of all holiness.
11:13Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
11:16by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
11:19so that they may become for us
11:21the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
11:25At the time he was betrayed
11:26and entered willingly into his passion,
11:30he took bread,
11:31and giving thanks, broke it
11:33and gave it to his disciples, saying,
11:36Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
11:39for this is my body,
11:40which will be given up for you.
11:49In a similar way,
11:51when supper was ended,
11:53he took the chalice,
11:54and once more giving thanks,
11:57he gave it to his disciples, saying,
12:00Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
12:03for this is the chalice of my blood,
12:06the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
12:09which will be poured out for you
12:11and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
12:15Do this in memory of me.
12:26The mystery of faith.
12:30Save us, Savior of the world,
12:33for by your cross and resurrection,
12:36you have set us free.
12:38Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
12:41of his death and resurrection,
12:42we offer you, Lord,
12:44the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
12:47giving thanks that you've held us worthy
12:49to be in your presence and minister to you.
12:54Humbly we pray
12:55that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
12:58we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
13:03Remember, Lord, your Church,
13:04spread throughout the world
13:06and bring her to the fullness of charity,
13:09together with Cleo, our Pope,
13:12me, your unworthy servant,
13:13and all the clergy.
13:16Remember also our brothers and sisters
13:18who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
13:22and all who have died in your mercy.
13:26Welcome, then, into the light of your face.
13:30Have mercy on us all, we pray,
13:33that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
13:34Mother of God,
13:36the St. Joseph, her spouse,
13:38with the blessed Apostles,
13:40and all the saints who have preached you
13:42throughout the ages,
13:43we may merit to be coerced to eternal life
13:47and may praise and glorify you
13:49through your Son, Jesus Christ.
13:56Through him and with him and in him,
13:58O God, Almighty Father,
14:00in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
14:02all glory and honour is yours
14:04for ever and ever. Amen.
14:09At the Saviour's command
14:11and formed by divine teaching,
14:12we dare to say,
14:14Our Father, who art in heaven,
14:16hallowed be thy name.
14:18Thy kingdom come,
14:20thy will be done on earth
14:22as it is in heaven.
14:23Give us this day our daily bread
14:26and forgive us our trespasses
14:28as we forgive those who trespass against us
14:31and lead us not into temptation,
14:34but deliver us from evil.
14:36Deliver us, Lord, we pray,
14:38from every evil.
14:39Graciously grant peace in our days
14:41that by the help of your mercy
14:43we may be always free from sin
14:45and safe from all distress
14:47as we await the blessed hope
14:49and the coming of our Saviour,
14:51Jesus Christ.
14:52For the kingdom,
14:54the power and the glory are yours
14:56now and for ever.
14:58Lord Jesus Christ,
14:59who said to your apostles,
15:01Peace I leave you,
15:02my peace I give you,
15:03look not on our sins,
15:05but on the faith of your Church,
15:07and graciously grant her peace and unity
15:10in accordance with your will
15:12who live and reign forever and ever.
15:15The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ
15:17be with you always.
15:18Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
15:21Peace be with you all.
15:24Lamb of God,
15:25you take away the sins of the world.
15:28Have mercy on us.
15:30Lamb of God,
15:31you take away the sins of the world.
15:34Have mercy on us.
15:36Lamb of God,
15:37you take away the sins of the world.
15:39Grant us peace.
15:54Behold the Lamb of God,
15:56who takes away the sins of the world.
15:58Happy are those who are called
15:59to the supper of the Lamb.
16:01Lord, I am not worthy,
16:02you should enter under my roof,
16:04but only say the word,
16:06and my soul shall be healed.
16:08My Jesus,
16:10I believe that you are present
16:11in the most blessed sacrament.
16:13I love you above all things,
16:15and I desire to receive you
16:16into my soul.
16:18Since I cannot now receive you
16:20sacramentally,
16:21comely spiritually,
16:23into my heart,
16:24I embrace you as if you were already there,
16:26and unite myself wholly to you.
16:29Never permit me to be separated from you.
16:32Amen.
16:34Let us pray.
16:38Renewed and nourished
16:39by the sacred body and blood,
16:41precious blood of your Son,
16:43we ask of your mercy, O Lord,
16:46that what we celebrate
16:47with constant devotion,
16:49may we assure pledge of redemption
16:51through Christ our Lord.
16:54Amen.
16:54The Lord be with you,
16:56and may the peace and the blessing
16:58of the Father and of the Son
16:59and of the Holy Spirit
17:01come upon you
17:01and remain always with you.
17:03Let us go
17:04and proclaim the gospel
17:06by our lives.
17:07Thanks be to God.
17:09May God bless your day.
17:10May God bless your life.
