00:14In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you on
00:19this feast of St. Boniface, patron of this church in Germany, great missionary and a martyr as well.
00:26We open our hearts to be called to be missionaries, each one of us spreading the mission of Christ and
00:33also to not be put off by the challenges that we may face.
00:38So we acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the mystery and the love of God as we acknowledge our sins.
00:45Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins
00:55and lead us into life everlasting. Amen.
00:59May the martyrs in Boniface be our advocate, O Lord, that we may firmly hold the faith and be taught
01:05with his lips and sealed in his blood and confidently professed by our deeds.
01:10To our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and
01:16ever. Amen.
01:18A reading from the Acts of the Apostles
01:21Paul said, King Agrippa, I would not disobey the heavenly vision. On the contrary, I started preaching first to the
01:30people of Damascus, then to those of Jerusalem and all the countryside of Judea, also to the pagans, urging them
01:38to repent and turn to God, proving their change of heart by their deeds.
01:43This was why the Jews laid hands on me in the temple and tried to do away with me.
01:50But I was blessed with God's help, and so I have stood firm to this day, testifying into great and
01:56smaller light, saying nothing more than what the prophets and Moses himself said would happen.
02:04That the Christ was to suffer, and that, as the first to rise from the dead, he was to proclaim
02:10the light now shown for our people and for the pagans too.
02:17The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
02:22Go out to all the world and tell the good news. Go out to all the world and tell the
02:27good news.
02:28O praise the Lord, all you nations, acclaim him, all you peoples. Go out to all the world and tell
02:35the good news. Strong is his love for us, he is faithful forever. Go out to all the world and
02:41tell the good news.
02:44Alleluia, alleluia. I am the good shepherd, says the Lord. I know my sheep and mine know me. Alleluia.
02:51The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
02:57Glory to you, O Lord.
02:58Jesus said, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd is one who lays down his life for his sheep.
03:07The hired man, since he is not the shepherd and the sheep do not belong to him, abandons the sheep
03:14and runs away as soon as he sees a wolf coming.
03:17Then the wolf attacks and scatters the sheep. This is because he is only a hired man and has no
03:25concern for the sheep.
03:28I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me. Just as the Father knows me
03:35and I know the Father. I and I lay down my life for my sheep. And there are other sheep
03:43I have that are not of this fold. And these I have to lead as well. They too will listen
03:50to my voice and there will be only one flock and one shepherd.
03:57The Gospel of the Lord.
03:59The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Lord Jesus Christ.
04:04St. Boniface was an Englishman who went as a missionary to Germany. And one would say nowadays he had fire
04:11in the belly for the sake of the kingdom. He had this great passion of spreading the message of Christianity
04:18among the pagan peoples of Europe. And eventually was martyred in Friesland when he was trying to proclaim the gospel.
04:25He was a bishop by the stage. I think he was made a bishop.
04:31A bit reluctantly from what I gather. And anyway, the message for us there is the passion for the kingdom
04:39is given to all the disciples. The passion, the fire and the belly that we all need to proclaim the
04:45gospel.
04:45And it's not just confined to a bishop or a priest but for all the baptized. We all share in
04:51that mission of Christ.
04:52And of course it did not. The threats of martyrdom did not deter one of us. He kept on working
05:00as it did not deter Jesus himself when he kept on doing what he needed to do though he knew
05:06it could lead to what happened to him.
05:09So we need to continue having the grace of God in our heart to live in that grace so that
05:14we can be indeed missionaries our sins.
05:30Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this bread to offer and which
05:34the church has given human hands have made.
05:36It will become for us the bread of life.
05:39Blessed be God forever.
05:44Blessed be God forever.
06:00Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of
06:06divine work of human hands.
06:08It will become a spiritual drink.
06:10Blessed be God forever.
06:17Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father.
06:23May we all ask you the sacrifice of your hands for the present Lord of men, for the present Lord
06:28of his church.
06:30Through the present oblation, O Lord, which we offer in commemoration of St. Boniface, bestow on your faithful, we pray,
06:38the gift of unity and peace, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
06:42May the Lord be with you, Lord of all creation, and the Lord be with you, lift up your hearts,
06:47let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
06:51It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy
06:58Father, Almighty and eternal God, for the blood of your blessed martyr Boniface, pulled out by Christ to glorify your
07:06name, shows forth your marvelous works, by which in our weakness you perfect your power, and on the feeble bestow
07:14strength to bear you witness to Christ our Lord.
07:17And so, with the powers of heaven, we worship you constantly on earth, and before you, without end, we acclaim,
07:25Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest, blessed
07:34is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.
07:38You are indeed holy, O Lord, the Lord, the Lord, the Lord, the Lord of all holiness. Make holy therefore
07:43these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, like the dewfall, so that they
07:50may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:14In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave it
08:22to his disciples, saying,
08:23Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of
08:29the new and eternal covenant, which will be pulled out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.
08:35Do this in memory of me.
08:41The mystery of faith, when we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until
08:48you come again.
08:50Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and
08:56the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to
09:03you.
09:04Humbly we pray that, from taking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by
09:09the Holy Spirit.
09:11Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our
09:18Pope, me, your unworthy servant and all the clergy.
09:21Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have
09:28died in your mercy.
09:29Welcome them into the light of your face.
09:32Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, blessed Joseph, her spouse,
09:39with the blessed apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
09:44we may merit to be coerced to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
09:54Through him and with him and in him, O God Almighty, Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all
10:00glory and honour is yours for ever and ever. Amen.
10:04At the Saviour's command and form by divine teaching, we dare to say,
10:08Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as
10:16it is in heaven.
10:17Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,
10:26and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
10:31Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days,
10:36that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress,
10:41as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
10:47For the kingdom be found, and glory are you at now and forever.
10:50Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
10:53Peace I give you, my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your
10:59Church,
11:00and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will,
11:04who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
11:07The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
11:11Amen.
11:12Those of age, I have a sign of peace be with you.
11:16Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
11:21Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
11:27Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
11:41Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
11:44happy are those who are called to the Supper of the Lamb.
11:47Lord, I am not worthy, you should enter under my roof,
11:51but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
11:54My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
11:59I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
12:04Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
12:07come at least spiritually into my heart.
12:10I embrace you as if you were already there,
12:12and unite myself wholly to you.
12:15Never permit me to be separated from you.
12:18Amen.
12:20Let us pray.
12:22May the sacrament we have received, O Lord,
12:24to commemorate the blessed Boniface,
12:28sanctify our minds and hearts,
12:30that we may merit to be made sharers in the divine nature,
12:33through Christ our Lord. Amen.
12:36The Lord be with you.
12:37And may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son
12:40and of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
12:44Let us go and proclaim the gospel by our lives.
12:48Thanks be to God.
12:50God bless your day.
12:52I wish you good.
12:52God bless you.
