00:14Today is the feast of Saint Mary Magdalene. Pope Francis called her an apostle to the apostles.
00:21She is the first person that we know of from the scriptures that Jesus appeared to and she was the
00:28one who went and told the apostles of the empty tomb. So we start in the name of the
00:34Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you. We acknowledge our sins,
00:41we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy and the love of God. You are with us in good times and in
00:47bad times. Lord, have mercy. You call us to live in the hope of resurrection. Christ, have mercy.
00:54You give us your ongoing healing. Lord, have mercy. May almighty God have mercy on us,
01:01forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
01:06O God, who is only begotten Son, actually today we pray the Gloria before we do that,
01:12because it's a special feast. Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to people of goodwill.
01:19We praise you. We bless you. We adore you. We glorify you. We give you thanks for your great glory.

04:48It was very early on the first day of the week and still dark when Mary of Magdala came to
04:55the tomb.
04:56She saw that the stone had been moved away from the tomb and came running to Simon Peter and the
05:03other
05:03disciple, the one Jesus loved. They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, she said, and we don't know
05:10where
05:10they have put him. Mary stayed outside here at the tomb, weeping. Then, still weeping, she stooped to look inside
05:19and saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had been, one at the head.
05:26And the other at the feet. They said, Woman, why are you weeping?
05:31They have taken my Lord away, she replied, and I don't know where they have put him.
05:38As she said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, though she did not recognize him.
05:45Jesus said, Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for? Supposing him to be the gardener, she said,
05:54Sir, if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and remove
06:00him.
06:01Jesus said, Mary. She knew him then, and said to him in Hebrew, Rabboni, which means master.
06:10Jesus said to her, Do not cling to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go
06:17and find the
06:17brethren and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.
06:24So Mary of Magdala went and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord and that he had said
06:32these things to her.
06:36The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:41When Jesus calls her woman, she does not recognize him. When he calls her by name, she recognizes him.
06:49It's here, specifically, that he is talking to. The personal recognition that Jesus has for each one of us,
06:56not just only a generic crowd, but individually, as well as each other, as well as our people.
07:03So the personal connection. And she's told to go and tell the others, to tell the apostles.
07:10And that's why Pope Francis calls her the apostle to the apostles. She was the first one to proclaim
07:16the resurrection to them, clearly. But we are called also to share in the mission of the apostles,
07:23in proclaiming the risen Jesus by our lives, lives of hope, lives based on the gospel.
07:30So we thank God for being called individually, the beautiful song of songs from the first reading,
07:36reminding us that our relationship with God is similar in an analogous way to that of lovers,
07:44that each one of us is loved so deeply and profoundly by God. And then to, out of that love,
07:50to live the gospel and to proclaim hope and good news.
08:02Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
08:07which earth has given, human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.
08:29Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
08:34fruit of divine work of human hands. It will become a spiritual dream.
08:38Blessed be God of all creation.
08:48Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
08:54our almighty Father. And let the Lord accept the second loss from your hands,
08:58for the Christ and the glory of his life that I put in the will of all his truth.
09:02I accept, O Lord, the offerings presented in commemoration of Saint Mary Magdalene,
09:07whose homage of charity was generously accepted by our only begotten Son,
09:12who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
09:15The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
09:23It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks.
09:29Lord, Holy Father, almighty and eternal God, for you, eternal shepherd, do not desert your flock,

09:42so that it may be governed by those who have appointed shepherds to lead it in the name of your
09:48Son.

11:28When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
11:35Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord,
11:41the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your
11:47presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:54we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world
12:01and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our Pope, me, your unworthy servant,
12:08and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of

12:42through your Son, Jesus Christ.
12:47Through him and with him and in him, O God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
12:53all glory and honour is yours for ever and ever. Amen.
12:58In the Savior's command and form a divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, who art in heaven,
13:05hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

15:23May the holy reception of your mysteries, Lord, instill in us the persevering love with which St. Mary Magdalene clung
15:32with your youth in Christ, her Master, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

15:42of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
