Transcript
00:00Good morning from Peoria, Illinois, where a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect.
00:04We have a bow echo approaching northwestern Illinois with 60 to 70 mile an hour winds.
00:09You can see the milky gust front here to the southwest of Peoria, and you have to wonder
00:14how this might disrupt the shape of the warm sector and the wind shear for the severe weather
00:18outbreak later on this afternoon.
00:20This area, the air mass recovers faster behind these complexes of storms across this region
00:26more than any other place in the world, and that coupled with a 60 to 70 knot low level
00:31jet should cause rapid air mass recovery behind this complex of storms so far this morning.
00:37Storm Prediction Center still has a moderate risk, including that hatch area for significant
00:42tornadoes, EF2 and greater tornadoes, including Peoria down to Springfield, Illinois, but we
00:48are tracking this bow echo of the morning complex of storms here approaching the Corn Belt.
00:53This area has just been getting hammered by severe weather so far.
00:56This spring and summer.
