00:00Hello.
00:01A heat wave is going to be developing as we go through this week.
00:04It's turning hotter, it's turning more humid, and we'll see some difficult sleeping conditions
00:09with tropical nights.
00:10High pressure is dominating, we'll see day-on-day heating with this, but as it shifts its way
00:15further eastwards, that will draw up some south and south-easterly winds, so really
00:19tapping into that warmth that has been over the continent.
00:24And that theme will continue as we go into Wednesday and into Thursday, temperatures
00:28could peak at 37 or 38 degrees.
00:32And we've already issued a Meta Office Amber Extreme Heat Warning.
00:37This one is valid for Monday and Tuesday across much of central and south-eastern England and
00:42across Wales as well.
00:44So difficult sleeping conditions like I mentioned, but also health risks are difficult for transport
00:51as well, so there could be some delays.
00:52And if you do need to cool down, do take care if you're heading over to any lakes or open
00:58water as you could get some cold water shock.
01:02Now, as we go through this evening, any showers will continue to fade into the north and east.
01:07Across Northern Ireland, it will turn cloudier this evening without breaks of rain that will
01:11push eventually into southern parts of Scotland.
01:14But across the south, that's where we'll start to see the humidity rising, clear skies and temperatures
01:20only dropping away to 18 or 19 degrees.
01:24As we start Monday morning then, it is a damp picture across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:29We'll see outbreaks of mostly patchy light rain pushing its way north and eastwards, really
01:35across the central belt as we go through the afternoon.
01:38To the south of that, a good deal of blue sky.
01:42Strong sunshine out there though, so do take care in that sun.
01:45And across the southwest, that's where we'll see some thunderstorms moving their way through.
01:50So across Devon and Cornwall, we could see some flashes of lightning, the odd rumble of
01:53thunder, some trenchial downpours and some gusty winds as well.
01:58Temperatures really rising already, 32, possibly 33 or 34 degrees across the southeast.
02:04Across the north, up to 20 or 22 degrees.
02:08As we head through Monday evening then, showery outbreaks of rain persisting across Scotland.
02:13To the south of that, that's where we'll still see some thunderstorms pushing their way south
02:17and eastwards and eventually clearing East Anglia.
02:20For many then, as we go overnight into the start of Tuesday, there'll be clear spells around.
02:25But like I mentioned, it's going to be feeling warm and humid overnight.
02:30Some places leading to a tropical night where temperatures don't fall below 20 degrees.
02:37So a very warm start to Tuesday morning.
02:40There'll be a few showers possibly across the far south and east.
02:44Cloudier across Orkney and Shetland with some showering outbreaks of rain here.
02:47But for the vast majority, blue sky throughout much of Tuesday.
02:52Perhaps turning a little bit hazy at times across western areas with some higher level cloud here.
02:57Temperatures rising once again, so across the north into Scotland, 26 degrees.
03:03Similar across Northern Ireland and across the Midlands and across London, 36, possibly 37 degrees.
03:11So really do take care with that strong sunshine and the increasing humidity as well.
03:17That still continues, like I mentioned, as we go into Wednesday and Thursday.
03:23This time shifted further towards the west.
03:26And like I mentioned, we could see temperatures climbing 37, 38 degrees again on Wednesday and into Thursday.
03:32A bit more uncertainty on the temperatures for Thursday.
03:35There's more in the way of cloud in the mix.
03:37So that might limit the temperatures, but still give that really humid feel out there.
03:42So a lot going on.

03:47And do keep an eye on those warnings as they're likely to be updated as we go through the week.
03:51That's all from me.
03:52Bye bye.
