01:17And listen to this crowd.
01:24Well, this is the battle everyone wanted to see.
01:25Deegan bringing the hype into this class.
01:27We've seen huge crowds at these first three races.
01:30And there's fans in both directions.
01:32There's fans that want to see him win.
01:34There's fans that want to see him get beat.
01:36And he started with the Lawrence.
01:37So we're going to see which way it goes.
01:39Yeah, hey, Deegan definitely is one of the fan favorites out here.

01:42But he's doing a great job at, you know, keeping these guys preoccupied as he makes a small mistake right
01:47there.
01:47I think with Hayden, he's just got to keep the pressure on, you know, not necessarily trying to pass him
01:52at the moment,
01:53but just let him know, especially with Hunter Lawrence.
01:55And he looks like he's going to go on the inside of his brother right here.
01:57Yeah, some struggles for Jett.
01:59So here comes Hunter running around the outside.

02:21So Jett's going to have to do a good job at keeping him at bay.

02:34Wow, Lucas made some great passes that opening lap.
02:37He was able to get around both teammates, Jorge Prada and Aaron Flessinger.
02:40So it looks like he's got the pace and he can get around Cooper Webb.
02:44Maybe he has a chance while it's still early to catch on to the back of these guys.

02:56As for Jett Lawrence, yes, he got the win last weekend, but I think everyone is wondering, with that foot
03:01and ankle injury, will it be track to track?
03:04Will he be better some weekends and not as good as others?
03:07So you never know in these first motos exactly what you're going to get.

03:14Yeah, Hayden, there's certain parts of this racetrack that I would say he's not as good in here.
03:19In this part that we just went through, Hayden is able to close in.
03:23So it's going to be hard.
03:24One thing here in Colorado, with these long rusts, it's really hard to be up on a guy because you
03:29can't see.
03:30As you can see, Hayden kind of gives him a gap.
03:32I think he's more doing that so he can have that vision because, as I mentioned, the ruts are very
03:36long.
03:36Easy to make a mistake.

05:01I love what we're seeing from him because if you look, he has just progressively gotten more and more aggressive.
05:06Last week in the first moto was a step forward.

05:10He's actually applying pressure instead of having pressure applied to him.
05:14Yeah, JT, and this is a tough spot for Hunter, I'd imagine, right, James?

05:19I mean, he was so focused on Jet.
05:20This is the strong side where I feel like Hayden is really good now.

05:25The last couple laps, they've been able to open this up, but at the same time, you see Hunter, he's
05:30got to back it off.

05:33Looks like he's going to get it, but this is off camera.
05:35Hunter should have the outside, which is going to put him on the inside.
05:38Hunter's just got to get through this corner clean.

05:57Now, if I'm Hayden Deegan, I'm going to attack Jet right now because Jet probably doesn't know it's Hayden behind

06:02He probably thinks it's his brother, which means he knows Hunter's not going to, like, run it in on him.
06:07Hayden Deegan will, so Jet's got to pay attention to that.

06:21This is what everyone wanted to see.
06:24Deegan able to make the move on Hunter.

06:28Now, Hayden's been really strong on this part of the racetrack, so let's see if he can close up to
06:33Jet.
06:34Hunter's losing a little bit in tow, which is only going to help Hayden be able to go offensive on
06:38Jet Lawrence.
06:46Deegan's got different lines.
06:50Yeah, for the moment, they've opened a little gap on Hunter.
06:53So it's Jet Lawrence.
06:54Can he hold off Deegan, who's riding well?
06:58Now, we've seen Jet in the past.
07:00I would say this is kind of fool's gold in a little bit, meaning Jet takes a couple laps to
07:06get going.
07:06And once he gets going, he starts stretching his gap out.
07:09So they understand they've got to close that gap on him if I'm Hayden Deegan, as Hunter Lawrence is starting
07:14to lose the pace a little bit with these guys.
07:17There is so much strategy in the way the Lawrence's race and energy management.
07:22And when they go fast and when they wait, it's so hard to know exactly what you're getting.
07:26We've wondered if there are years with Jet, but he maintains these small leads.
07:29But right now, he is absolutely under fire.
07:32Here it comes.
07:34Hayden Deegan hanging it out.
07:37Almost got it.
07:38Yeah, you see how those lines play out.
07:39Like, he gets on the camera angle.
07:41Hayden has it in the beginning part, but he goes a long ways around.
07:44And at this point, let's not be kidding ourselves.
07:47Hayden Deegan at this moment, like, yeah, he's in there for the championship.
07:50But what do you really want is to be able to pass that number one.
07:52What's that going to do for his confidence moving forward?
07:55Now he knows he has that pace.
07:56He can beat those guys.
07:57And this is the section he's been really strong at.

08:18I'm just watching the mechanics boards there.
08:20And Brett Hayden Deegan's mechanic put breathe on the pit board.
08:23I was expecting breathe later, attack now.
08:26Because I think right now he has a chance to get in on Jett.
08:29If Jett settles in, that's the worst thing that could happen to Hayden.
08:32So I actually kind of disagree with the mechanics pit board there.
08:35Well, they're playing the long game in their own way, JT.
08:38I asked his mechanic.
08:39Look, they work on a lot of things during the week to adapt to the 450.
08:42And I said, but how do you make sure what happens during the week actually happens on race day?
08:47And he said, I put it on the board.
08:49And Hayden does read the board every lap.
08:51A lot of riders do not.
08:52They are very focused on the notes during the week that are made, will be on that board, and follow
08:57it.
08:58Yeah, but, you know, in this moment right there, I don't think Hayden's looking.
09:02Hayden's like, breathe.
09:03We barely got oxygen up here.
09:04What are you talking about, Will?
09:06That's right.
09:07It's tough breathing out here, JT.
09:08Going back, Jason, to what you were saying about what they're working on in the week.
09:12Talking to Brett Duffy myself today as well.
09:14So, look, this is a lot about him getting used to the 450.
09:17And a lot of that, James, is going to be deciding what Gid's use.
09:21He's used to that kind of wide-open, high-rev style of racing that we have seen him do in
09:26the 250s now for many years.
09:28And getting out of that rhythm of doing that, breaking a habit, as Graham put it, has been the most
09:33challenging thing.
09:34But he said, actually, the altitude is going to make that tougher.
09:37So, this potentially, the biggest test for him, James, do you agree with that?
09:41Is his altitude conditions going to make keeping those revs low tricky for him?
09:45Yeah, yes and no.
09:46But I also feel like with the altitude, because we're at elevation, it's going to make the bike slower.
09:51So, it's going to make him feel more like he did on the 250.
09:53So, he's going to be able to hang it out, which we're seeing it.
09:56And I think Hayden's doing a good job as Jett throws that foot out because he wants to get in
10:00his run.
10:01Now, Hayden's been the strongest in this last segment.
10:03He's been four laps in a row quicker than Jett.
10:06But, as I mentioned, Jett's starting to get comfortable.
10:08And you can see one corner.
10:09He's getting that gap.
10:10So, back to what you were saying.
10:12Altitude, yes.
10:13But I think Hayden, he's a young kid.
10:15He wants to go out there no matter how he gets it done.
10:18Well, yeah, James, you mentioned confidence.
10:20Oh, no!
10:21Deegan lost the back end.
10:22Almost sent it off the side of the track.
10:24And now Hunter's right there.
10:26Yeah, if it's double the trouble, you've got one getting away, you've got the next one.
10:30I think what Hunter was doing is kind of what he did that first moto last weekend, sitting back.
10:34As you can see, these little white pebbles on this racetrack.
10:37There's a lot of rocks here today.
10:38So, Hunter's probably sitting back, getting away from that roost, letting this thing settle down.
10:43And trying to attack and preoccupy Hayden at the moment.
10:48But Deegan quickly able to get back away just a bit.
10:51Up to the top of the hill.
10:56Do we have enough data already to say that this is an improvement for Deegan even over last week?

11:01Yeah, I mean, the kid's going to improve every single weekend.
11:05I mean, yes, he's up here fighting.
11:06And he's been fighting.
11:07He's the only one, really, that's been able to fight these two guys besides the first lap and the second
11:11moto.
11:12So, Lucas is doing a great job, as we'll highlight him right now.
11:15But I think, let's finish, let's see how this moto goes.
11:18That's where it's really going to play out, how much he's gotten better.
11:21Because Hayden has the speed.
11:22He can run the pace of Jet Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence, any lap.
11:26It's just whether he can do it over 30 minutes.
11:28And as for Coonan here, solid in fourth.
11:31Did race in America last year at motocross of nations.
11:34But this is first pro motocross race.
11:37They raced in Latvia for MXGP last Sunday.
11:40Flew to California.
11:41Rode a bit there two days this week.
11:44And then to drive the motorcycles out to the KTM shop in California to get them ready to race, as
11:50they say.
11:51And he's doing well right now.
11:53Back to this.
11:54Deegan, about a second off of Lawrence.
11:58Yeah, this might.
11:59We're going to find out to speed-wise on, hey, Deegan, sometimes when you make a mistake and drop back,
12:03especially on this racetrack, when you're too close to the guy, you can't see.
12:07So sometimes those mistakes are made because you're so close.
12:11Now he's going to have an opportunity to go.
12:13But I believe Hayden just got down.
12:13I think he made a mistake.
12:14Yeah.
12:14Yeah, I think he was off the track.
12:16JT.
12:17Yeah, I was just going to compliment Hayden on the resilience of that lap, being able to close back in
12:22on Jet.
12:23Immediately goes right back off the racetrack.
12:25And we had the same setup we had a lap ago where Hunter's all over him yet again.
12:30Yeah, looks like he got off balance in one of those ruts.
12:32I thought he was going to go down, but then we just saw him off the side of the track.
12:36Here it is.
12:36Yeah, we're going to get down.
12:38You can notice all these ruts.
12:39I'm assuming, yeah, he starts losing the front end.
12:41Does a great job.
12:43A really good save right there.
12:44This track is a lot of off-cambers, so the corners are always falling away from me.
12:48There's hardly any flat ground around this racetrack.
12:50And once you start getting leading one way, it's easy to continue going that way.
12:58And once again, quickly able to shed the pressure from Hunter to the kid.
13:0320-year-old, two-time, 250 champ, hanging tough.
13:09Yeah, now this, if Hayden's able to close back up on Jet, I think that's the improvement that you'll be
13:14able to see.
13:14And I believe no matter how this race ends, he's able to do that.
13:18Hayden's going to start believing, like, okay, I got the pace.
13:20Not only I'm just not hanging with him, I'm able to make a mistake, lose that time, and gain it
13:25back.
13:25Which means next time I'm in that, I'll just calm down a little bit, let the state go, because I
13:30have the pace.
13:30As you can see, he's starting to make a few mistakes.
13:33I believe a lot of that's coming to him, changing his lines.
13:35The track hasn't fully developed.
13:37But Hayden's doing a good job.
13:39He's going to have that number 96 on him in the moment if he doesn't get it going.
13:42Yeah, this has become the yo-yo battle.
13:44He makes a mistake.
13:45Hunter closed in.
13:46He pulls away a little bit, makes another mistake.
13:47Hunter gets him again, and it is on for second.
13:51Yeah, Hayden switched his line up.
13:52If you notice, he was on the outside.
13:54Now he went to the inside and swearing like that, you know, being a rookie and not really understanding,
14:01I wouldn't say not understanding, but really trying to learn how these guys race.
14:05Because Hayden clearly is still right there on jet.
14:07But sometimes you get nervous, as his mechanics say.
14:09You need to breathe, calm back down.
14:11And it's hard to do that when you've got another brother coming up on you, putting that pressure on you.
14:16Yeah, this is about the closest Hunter has been consistently for about 10 minutes now, in deep breath.
14:23Since Brent Duffy, the mechanic.
14:30Oh, Hunter's applying, get down.
14:34Yeah, Hunter's definitely applying it.
14:36And I wonder, is Hunter going to get a signal from his pit bull?
14:40Because if you look in the background, that number, the guy in fourth place, is starting to come up.
14:44He was the fastest guy on the racetrack right now.
14:46He was starting to catch these guys.
14:47So Hunter probably understands, maybe I can't sit back like I did last weekend, because I'm going to have Lucas
14:54on me.
14:54But nonetheless, all three of these guys are riding great on a challenging racetrack.
14:59It's really this section right here, where Deegan is able to shed that pressure from Hunter just a little bit.
15:04Top of the last few laps.
15:06And the 96 able to close back in.
15:09Yeah, I think a lot of that, Hayden's got an interesting line right here on the far inside.
15:14But sometimes, like in that open part, there's so many rocks here.
15:17I think Hunter's probably sitting back.
15:19Or if he's trying to change up his line, he's not able to follow.
15:22But as we say that.
15:23Wait a minute.
15:24He's right back to Jet.
15:26And we're only halfway through this moto.
15:28Quick reminder to stock up on Monster Energy.
15:32Not sure if Jet Lawrence made a mistake or what it was, but Deegan is right back in the fight.

15:49And the crowd senses this three-way battle on again.

16:03And it is about as close between these three as it was in the first half.
16:08Now, this is one area where I know they're brothers and they're racing against each other.
16:13But sometimes you can work together.
16:15If Hunter knows, hey, it's starting to close up on my brother.
16:17Then I need to get up on Hayden to keep him preoccupied how Hayden was doing me earlier.
16:22Maybe make a mistake.
16:23And notice everybody's starting to tighten up here.
16:29That's where Hayden's been really quick after this finish line.
16:31So, see if he can do that in another lap in a row.
16:36Oh, this is great racing for sure.
16:39And still 13 minutes and two laps to go.
16:42Deegan is right in it.
16:48There's Coonan.
16:49Yeah, he is inching up just a bit.
16:52Gap was a little closer.
16:53Eight seconds.
16:54Now it's down to 7.1, Will.
16:58They're doing an incredible job right now, Jason.
17:01As he said, James, I got a little question for you here.
17:03You may not realize how much of an important part you've actually played in the Coonan twins
17:08being over here because while talking to them yesterday about them describing this
17:13as their dream to race in America, they said that that started in 2013,
17:19watching you race forward in a Supercross race.
17:22They thought it was the most exciting thing they'd ever seen.
17:24And at that point, they decided they wanted to race dirt bikes.
17:28Their dad actually a four-wheel racer, so they did a little bit of go-kart racing too.
17:32So, I just wanted to let you know, James, the fact that they're here and we're seeing...

17:38Wow, thanks, thanks for that mistake by Hayden.
17:41I'm kind of getting a little choked up.
17:43That's an honor that both these brothers are over here and they looked up to me, so really cool.
17:49Oh, Deegan's got another problem and now Coonan is by.
17:53Oh, he's going for the lead, hustling, and now two crashes.
17:59Yeah, that's easy.
18:00It happened to first one, he's just trying to push it on a track that's really slippery,
18:03and that second one is probably just a little lack of focus.
18:07Difficult this racetrack is, but he's still in four right now, JT.
18:12Guys, I'm a little upset that Hayden went down because I wanted you guys to see this line the next
18:17lap.
18:17At the top of the hill, he is using an inside.
18:20Now, I'm not an AMA official, so I'm not going to say that this line is out of balance,
18:23but he's dangerously close to being so.
18:25Well, I think Hunter picked up on it last lap.
18:27We'll see if he goes there.
18:29Jet has not seen it.
18:30So when they come around, it's at the very top of the hill.
18:33Hayden is going farther inside than anybody, and I think a couple of track markers got blown off the track,
18:37allowing him to go inside of the berm.
18:40He was making up huge amounts of time every lap.
18:42I think that would have been the difference.
18:45Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier.
18:47He's got an interesting line up there, but yeah, this is on the very top of the hill.
18:52Now, watch Hayden.
18:53He's going to go.
18:53You see those track markers laying down.
18:55Now, he's able to get on the gas.
18:57He's on the inside of there.
18:59Oh, wow.
18:59A berm right there.
19:00That's a lot of time made up, and one of the reasons that's made up is because he has something
19:04to make off of.
19:06Clearly, he's able to make a lot of time on these guys.
19:11But the damage done with the two crashes fourth, and there was so much wondering of where Lucas Coonan would
19:17fit into this group.
19:19Man, he's two seconds closer.
19:21Now, another half-second closer than that.
19:23He's made up over three seconds, I'd say, in the last two laps.
19:27No, he is coming.
19:29He's got a great pace, and I think, if you notice, Jack kind of took a couple looks back, so
19:34not sure what's going on.
19:35If he's looking where Hayden is or whatnot, and Hunter Lawrence, I'm assuming he's not going to sit behind him
19:42if he can.
19:42He's not going to do what he did last week, and he understands he needs to try to pass him
19:46because there's a guy in yellow gear.
19:48A little throwback to Roger DeCosta coming up right now.
19:51Now, Lucas Coonan on the gas.
19:53Hunter Lawrence, this is his time to go.
20:04Still great racing between the brothers as they try to suss each other out.
20:09And what makes it so interesting, I mentioned there's so much strategy in the way they race, but they also
20:14know each other's strategy, so it's even harder to figure out what's happening when they're racing each other.
20:21Yeah, this is a dynamic between brothers.
20:25I'm more curious how Jet's feeling, and Willie, he understands that Hunter probably has that pace.
20:32If Hunter almost goes down, will he hold him up at this point?
20:35Because clearly, Hunter has that pace, and Jet's kind of got something else going on.
20:39But as we say, that one mistake, that gap comes.
20:42But look at that number 104 in the background.
20:45He is there.
20:46He is coming.
20:49And I would imagine at this point, I don't know if they know that.
20:53Maybe it's on the board, but you've got a figure.
20:55They were battling Deegan.
20:58And he didn't see 104.
20:59He was eight seconds back, and there he is.
21:02Yeah, and what's impressive about what Lucas is doing, he didn't have a toe, so they were just far enough
21:07away from him that he didn't have that rabbit to chase.
21:10So for him to put his head down and lock in, able to do that, now he can kind of
21:15see him, so it makes it easier as a rider because you've got that rabbit to chase.
21:18He has that pace by just his normal lines.
21:22Oh, this is absolutely incredible.
21:25Now the guy that stabilizes back to 4.1, now 4.6.
21:30And it's so hard to get a read on what you're getting out of Jet when he's leading these races.
21:36This race blew by.
21:37We only have eight minutes left in this.
21:39Wow.
21:40Time flies when you're having fun.
21:41Yeah, it is.
21:42Four riders really throwing down the Lawrence's Deegan and Kunin.
21:46This is exactly what the fans wanted to see today.
21:52And it is not over because Hunter is still there.
21:57Oh, Jet!
21:59Look, we have to mention the obvious here.
22:01The foot, the ankle injury, and these runs, and this track.
22:04Anytime you see the mistake, it almost makes you wince.
22:10And I asked Jet yesterday, we haven't really seen a running track yet.
22:13How is it going to go?
22:14And he said, we'll see.
22:16And he's got to fight now.
22:18Yeah, he's got to fight.
22:19And at no point has he been able to rest because anytime he does that, the guys behind him are
22:23able to close.
22:23So it makes him push.
22:25And what makes this track even more challenging, you have all these ruts.
22:28But if you notice in our screen, there's these light pebbles around the racetrack.
22:31The tires don't like those pebbles.
22:33They don't grip into that.
22:34So the bike is continuing slotting.
22:36Then you're slotting into this hair comb, which makes it more challenging.
22:40So injury or not, it's easy to get a foot caught out or anything here.
22:44And I think that's what you're starting to see.
22:45And that's what you saw when, hey, Deegan, went down.
22:49And now we hear Deegan, it is under review where he was going inside in that corner.
22:55So race control will eventually have to make a ruling on that as four laps click off.
23:00And it's still Lawrence versus Lawrence.
23:05They picked up the pace a little bit that last lap, which kind of bridged that gap to Lucas.
23:10They kind of stayed the same, lost a little bit of time.
23:12But man, I'm very impressed by this.
23:16Jet Lawrence, I mean, just little things like that.
23:19Just being able to hop on a neighbor.
23:21This must be really hard for a hunter and these guys behind him because they're like,
23:24he's right there, we feel him, wounded duck.
23:27And the next thing you know, he just puts in a quarter of a lap and just gets that gap.
23:31And it's demoralizing because you're like, I've got to work really hard to get back up to him.
23:37I would call it micro-dosing.
23:39It's like a section, a corner, one little area.
23:43He just flies it real quick and just gets that gap again.
23:46The amount of times it has looked like in his career, 250 class as well, that someone has Jet on
23:52the ropes.
23:53And next thing you know, he's just able to get back away.
23:55And what happens eventually, because he's been able to do that in his whole career,
23:59that little bit of micro-dosing, so when they lose that time, they've seen him be able to just pull
24:03away at that point.
24:05So it's not like another rider where they feel like they just, all right, I'll just get back.
24:08They've seen this story before, so they stop believing because he does it so many times.
24:15The lap riders here is Koonan in that yellow gear.
24:18Like you said, that is styled to look like the great Roger DeCoster, a fellow Belgian who runs KTM's motorsports
24:25program over here in America,
24:27one of the all-time greats of the sport.
24:29And they built gear to look like his from the 1970s.
24:33Now, the one part with this racetrack, just how it's set up, Jet's able to rest in certain parts, like
24:38this section.
24:39He's able to rest, and I know it's really challenging, but what's going to happen, Hunter can't pass him, so
24:44Jet knows that.
24:45So if he's starting to feel it a little bit or if something's bothering him, he knows if I just
24:49get through this section,
24:50I can sit down a little bit more, gain my energy back to when we get to the open part,
24:55now I can fight Hunter off.
24:56And maybe that's why you're watching Hunter close up on these tighter parts.
25:00Every section where it's a one line, they close up on them, and then Jet picks up the pace on
25:04those opening sections.
25:05So it might just be the form, Will.
25:07He's just been talking about what his new reput is like, because the guys usually ride kind of a couple
25:13of days a week,
25:13maybe more than that if they're sort of testing and making changes on the bike.
25:17But Jet's only been on the bike once a week.
25:19This is the new pattern.
25:20And that's to rest the foot, because what he said is I've got to get back to kind of what
25:25I feel like before I start racing on a Saturday.
25:29And he's like, that just takes time, it takes the whole week to essentially be set, so that he's not
25:33going through these race weekends, making it worse every week.
25:37But he also reminded everybody that his fitness pace, James, is there.
25:42So he wasn't at all concerned that he would lose that.
25:44In fact, he said actually racing at the weekends is going to keep that fitness pace.
25:47But his week does look different, so it's just more things that Jet Lawrence is adapting to, and yet it
25:53doesn't seem to be changing the results.
25:55Yeah, I mean, that's a great point, Will.
25:57And, yeah, his fitness is good.
25:58But eventually, if he's not able to ride, it really comes down to, like, bikes that are working on that.
26:04And then eventually, if you're not able to do it, the fitness will come into a point.
26:07But they've done so much work off the motorcycle, he feels pretty good.
26:11Clearly, he knows how to ride a motorcycle.
26:14And being able to ride around these injuries, he's starting to get away.
26:17I think Hunter made a pretty big mistake.
26:19This might be the moment that if Jet puts in a good lap, maybe Hunter will start thanking for that
26:24second moto,
26:24since he doesn't have Lucas on the back of him.
26:28So Coonan, he was closing for a bit.
26:31Now he is about six seconds back, nearly seven, actually.
26:33Here is Deegan.
26:34We'll check back in with him after the pair of crashes.
26:37He had Jet Lawrence in his sights.
26:39Again, you never know when someone has him in his sights if he really is on the ropes or not.
26:44But then those two crashes have sent Deegan back to a distance for 16 seconds off of the lead.
26:50But still, and I know how racers are.
26:53They're going to take the positives out of it.
26:54So if you're Deegan, you're going to say, man, I was closer.
26:58Oh, yeah.
26:58Absolutely.
26:59I mean, if I'm, hey, Deegan, this is probably the crash is the best thing.
27:03Because then, you know, let's say he didn't pass him and he gets fast.
27:06At least you can be like, man, I had him.
27:08I had him.
27:08I went down.
27:09I had him.
27:09And that's what I'm believing going back to the pit.
27:11Absolutely.
27:12Okay, Jorge Prado did not ride yesterday.
27:15They opened up a practice session for everyone because with the elevation, the teams always want to get into the
27:20press day ride, which is usually for a limited number of teams and riders.
27:25So teams suggested, can you just let everybody ride Friday so we can adjust to the elevation?
27:30They did that, but Prado elected not to do it, so really haven't seen him much this weekend, didn't get
27:34the customary good start.
27:35A solid ride here in fifth.
27:39That's the good news.
27:40The bad is he lost a ton of points for the bike problem last week.
27:44Came into this one 41 points down.
27:47And he's going to need to respond quickly if he has any hope of climbing back into title potential.
27:52Yeah, it's a tough position, but I also believe what I was saying about Lucas, that gap got built up
27:57between those top four.
27:59So Jorge hasn't had anybody to really chase, so sometimes that gap looks a lot bigger than what it actually
28:05is.
28:06Maybe if he was closer, he might be able to run Hayden against Pacer, those guys, but he's not able
28:10to see him.
28:11So now he doesn't have anybody behind him, which Garrett Marks makes his running sixth.
28:15Great job.
28:16And, yeah, those guys are too far going.
28:19And it is Hampshire, Blesinger, Ferrandez, and Craig in the top ten.
28:23Jet took a look over his shoulder, and a pretty big gap now, JT.
28:27He has, and you wonder if that was a concerted effort by Jet.
28:30He turned in almost two in a row, two of five flats, which are some of his best laps of
28:35the race.
28:35I've seen him take a look behind to kind of gauge where Hunter's at.
28:39And they talked about this last week.
28:40Jet said, I felt an opportunity about halfway to try to, quote, unquote, break Hunter, break the will of Hunter.
28:46And Hunter noticed it as well.
28:47And you wonder if it's a little bit later in this race, but if it's happened the last two laps
28:51or not.
28:51Oh, it definitely has.
28:53Sorry, Jason.
28:54It has.
28:55And that's why I went back.
28:56And Hunter made that mistake, put it in a hot lap, and to make Hunter just start, like, all right,
29:00I'll get up the next moto.
29:02He's done it two times in a row.
29:03And I know for Hunter, that's got to be hard because he's been so close.
29:07And how that first race went at Paula, how Supercross has been, he's been able to make passes on everyone
29:12else when he's in that situation, except for his younger brother, the number one, which he's going to share to
29:18Harvard with after this race.
29:20It looks like Jet is going to make it three straight moto wins.
29:25As you go back to this battle, it is Plessinger and Hampshire.
29:30It's been a rough season for Plessinger, both in Supercross and Motocross, but good to see him digging and still
29:37out here.
29:38They've got a little gap over Ferrandez.
29:41There he is.
29:42Ferrandez in the green gear on that Red Bull Troy Lee Designs Ducati.
29:47Team says at this point they are down to making refinements to the bike, not massive changes for Dylan in
29:52the first year of Ducati out here racing for a motocross.
29:56And the clock is going to expire here.
29:58Jet Lawrence could be two laps away from another moto win.
30:01Wasn't easy, but the result could be the same.

30:11Yeah, so this was going down that hill where Hayden had the interesting line.
30:15So assuming he's gotten passed by Lucas at this moment.

30:24Okay, I thought for a second that was Ferrandez and it would have been much further back.
30:29He is still in second place.
30:32He should be in third place.
30:35Okuna got him.
30:36Yeah.
30:36Well, this could be massive for the overall.
30:41Trying to twist that bike in the air.

30:43That was Lorenzo LaCercio on the 50.
30:46That was a lot broader.
30:49We got a little bit of footage of what happened to the 96.
30:51This is huge.
30:52Yeah, and where he was picking his bike at was on the tallest point of the racetrack.
30:57So we got him on the top.
31:01Wowzers.
31:03Yeah, just kind of the way he looks.
31:04Looks like he just lost the front end.
31:06You can see the marks going there and all those rocks and mulch I'm talking about.
31:10It's easy for that to happen.
31:11Those guys are going, but Hunter's trying to straighten that front end because look at these ruts here.
31:16Can you imagine going through these things with a fender that's pointing the wrong way?
31:20That's why it's important for him to straighten that thing out.
31:23Needs the alignment job, and he's only three seconds up the track from Deegan, who you can see back there,
31:28and you know Deegan would love to pass him.
31:31And there's still two laps to go.
31:35Yeah, Hayden, I'm sure his mechanic probably told him that he's there.
31:39Hayden's going to put a full-on sprint because this would be another win for him in the bank if
31:44he's able to get back up on the podium, and you know he's going to come.
31:46If Hunter has a bent-up motorcycle, that's going to make it easier for Hayden to be able to do
31:50that.
31:52And how about Lucas Coonan now in second?
31:55Yes, he inherited it because Hunter went down, but credit to him for being close enough to take him.
32:00He's got an advantage, and Deegan is sending it.
32:05Wow.
32:07That's one way of slowing down.
32:09Yeah, I know a lot of people, they don't like him revving a bike, but what that's also doing, these
32:18Yamahas are so loud, Hunter can hear that.
32:21So sometimes you rev that motorcycle, make a guy think you're a lot closer to what you is, and there
32:25he is.
32:26Oh, he's right there.
32:28Oh, what a massive change this would be.
32:30First of all, even the third is going to make it difficult for Hunter to win the day overall.
32:35He just lost a couple of points there to a rider that is not in the championship, Coonan, and Deegan
32:41could make it worse.
32:42JT.
32:43Weege, I'm telling you right now, if he gets close enough, he's going to use that line, which I believe
32:47is out of bounds, and we'll probably hear more about that later.
32:49But he's going to use that line, but he's going to use that line if he can get close enough.
32:52Hunter will have no idea he's going to go there, and he'll go right by him.
32:55Again, that's under review, that line that Deegan's been using.
33:02Yeah, there's a few lines on this racetrack that you can see all the stakes laid down, and these guys
33:07are searching for that traction.
33:09But, yeah, that line will suspect up there.
33:12We will let the AMA make the call on that.
33:16Now, just as quickly as Deegan got, though, to Hunter, now the gap has stabilized, and the white flag will
33:22be in sight soon.
33:25It's like Lucas closed up the jet for 2.2.

33:322.2 seconds on the last lap.
33:35And, again, I'm going to tell myself one of these days not to fall for it when someone gets Jet
33:39Lawrence in their sights, but the clock says the kid's got a shot.
33:44I mean, he was 3 seconds faster that last lap, so I'm assuming Jet was probably just trying to get
33:50to the end of the race.
33:51He'll pick it up this lap, but what this is doing for Lucas is kind of smart.
33:55You kind of push him to the end, so maybe he's not resting up and starting to recover between the
34:00motor.
34:00If you push him to the end, that means he's going to have to exert that energy.
34:04The lap rider, he found that line.
34:07Hey, they're just trying to, they're tired.
34:09They're just trying to do as minimal amount of riding as possible.
34:13Three quarters of a lap to go.
34:15There's Jet.
34:18There's Cunin in that yellow gear on the Red Bull KTM.
34:21Yeah, you see Jet take a look back, and it almost had a double.
34:25Turn right there.
34:26Quickly, as you see the bike sliding around, this track is very difficult because the tires are always pushing away
34:33from the hero of this racetrack,
34:34and you throw all these rocks and this mulch on it, makes it really tricky and easy to make a
34:39lot of mistakes.
34:47And the fans have loved every minute of this 30-minute and two-lap race because every time the riders
34:53came through that valley, there was a battle.
34:56This time it is Lawrence versus Cunin.
35:01And Jet's got a quarter of a lap to go, but a tough section right here.
35:05Yeah, this is as far as important for Jet to get through it.
35:08If he can get through this.
35:08Look at that from Cunin.
35:11Came into that corner hot.
35:13No problem.
35:15He can see the one now.
35:19It was close, but strong round by the champ.
35:22Expert class in race management.
35:25Cunin is right there.
35:27But Jet Lawrence hangs on for a big first moto win.
