00:00Em segundo momento para o final de semana aqui na Alemanha.
00:04Número 1, Romerfevra.
00:07Número 1, Maxime Renault.
00:08Sorry, Tim Geister alongside him.
01:08Foi a Yamaha, acho.
01:09Foi assim, Renault?
01:12Renault foi lá em 6.
01:14Just coming out of the...
01:16Oh, it´s Geisser!
01:19So Geisser did have a...
01:21Well, he was showing tent at the first split,
01:23but he looked like it was higher up than that.
01:25That Tech Air has deployed itself as well,
01:28so that doing its job.
01:30But Geisser, who was second in race one,
01:33ironed up a podium, a potential Grand Prix victory here,
01:35all of a sudden, with a mountain to climb.
01:38And Adamo suddenly taking the lead there, Paul.
01:40So Adamo into the lead now,
01:42ahead of his teammate Kunan.
01:43And Herlings, now freed up by Geisser,
01:46getting out of his way,
01:47and he´s also got back past Fevra.
01:48So Herlings are eyeing up the KTM runners in front.
01:51Yeah, Adamo was leading already coming out of turn two, wasn´t he?
01:53So Kunan just trying back and forth,
01:55and then it was a mistake from Adamo
01:57that allows Kunan back into the lead
02:00before the end of this lap.
02:01So Kunan leads, Adamo second, Herlings third,
02:05Fevra fourth, Fernandes fifth,
02:06then we got Dwarf, Horgmo, Renault,
02:08Oliver and Pantz here, top ten.
02:10A better start for Bonacorzian.
02:11And then we got Ferrato, Ludwig, Gwerda,
02:13Vanermosteck, Kiertz,
02:14Willem-Vox and Klayman,
02:15Elzinger in 18, Teresak
02:17and Wallanderen who didn´t finish race one.
02:19He was in tenth place until around about half way to go,
02:22and then he ended up down here in 34th place.
02:25So, no points on the board for Wallanderen in race one.
02:31Meanwhile, working our way out of the first turn here.
02:36Kunan, clean track ahead of him.
02:39Midway through that turn rather than deep inside ruts.
02:43Tell you what, Andrea Adamo is quick through this part of the race track here.
02:46I know it´s only coming out of one or two corners,
02:48but that´s where he made the pass on Kunan
02:50before they got to this point here.
02:52Three, four corners in.
02:54Good Hurlings going around the outside.
02:56Gets good drive.
02:57Goes one way again the other.
02:59Adamo will keep him to the outside.
03:00Tries to muscle his way through.
03:02Hurlings says no way.
03:03And he moves in a second by the end of lap one.
03:06Kunan leads.
03:07Hurlings now second.
03:08Adamo down to third.
03:10What kind of charge can Hurlings put in here?
03:12Because we never saw this in race one with that technical issue
03:14that forced him out of the race before the halfway point.
03:17Yeah, we understand the technical issue is also affecting him
03:19almost immediately from there.
03:21As we see the replay of the action here.
03:23Adamo always strong at the tail kettle,
03:25but he overbalances there.
03:26That slows his approach to the corner.
03:28Around comes the bullet.
03:29And a great bit of maneuvering here from Jeffrey.
03:32just like the roost.
03:33And then just irresistible.
03:34Leans in on Adamo in there.
03:36And that for sure is how to make a pass on the tail kettle.
03:39Got the flappy foam flapping behind him there on his helmet.
03:44Getting rid of the dirt from the first corner.
03:46Yeah, looks like Bandana Man, doesn't he?
03:49But yeah, the foam there just coming unstuck.
03:52But I tell you what, Hurlings really with that real sense of urgency
03:56because he knows having lined up at the start of the weekend
04:00then two points down, then three points going into race one.
04:02That gap 28 points, that's going to go out to 31.
04:05Now, if you put the flag out now, and that is not where you want to be
04:09even at round seven with a lot of rounds to go.
04:11You know, you literally just need to be clawing those points back.
04:13If you can get three points back here in race two.
04:16Of course, that's going to be a better race,
04:19but not the outcome of the Grand Prix that he wanted.
04:21Kunin can sit there and say, well, it's only three points,
04:23but how vital will those three points be with that 28-point lead at the moment?
04:27Yeah, of course, and Hurlings an absolute, well,
04:29more experience than anybody else in this field.
04:31So he knows how to approach a championship from either direction.
04:34Dominating it, winning it in a pitched battle at the very last round.
04:37Hurlings knows that the fight back to claw back those 28 points begins right now.
04:41and that is why you saw the urgency of getting past Adama.
04:45Just looking down on page two,
04:47Paul Jonas, who went down on the opening lap.
04:48He's in 29th.
04:49Tim Geiser, who fell, coming through the final turn on the run,
04:52down towards the finish line area.
04:53He's in 33rd place.
04:55And Van Donenck has yet to complete the lap,
04:58although he has gone through sector one.
05:01Saw him picking himself up.
05:03Here is Tim Geiser.
05:04And those handlebars bent massively down on the left-hand side,
05:07it looks like there.
05:08And here's what happened to Geiser.
05:10He's in gate number two now.
05:12No, it was in the dip before the finish line, wasn't it?
05:14But as he came through this first turn here,
05:17somebody was upside down.
05:18That was Van Donenck.
05:18That was Van Donenck going down here and a couple of other riders.
05:22But as we, emerging now into the dip,
05:25Geiser just there on the side of the bike,
05:28even before he came out of turn.
05:29It looked like a scrub went wrong there.
05:34Not the best place to crash there either,
05:36because you are completely round there blind.
05:38Very lucky escape there for Tim Geiser,
05:40but it looks like as he came through the turn,
05:43his foot peg caught and whipped his legs off the side of the bike.
05:46He was flying through the air in no man's land.
05:48He was an absolute passenger.
05:51And Tim Geiser, lucky to pick himself up from that one.
05:57Finished second in race one.
05:58He was ironed up the top step of the podium potentially,
06:01depending on the start and the finish of the race.
06:04Certainly ironed up the podium.
06:06But the man that's in control at the moment,
06:08having just set the fastest lap of the race,
06:09that time around 158.9,
06:12and 2.4 seconds clear of Jeffrey Hurlings,
06:15is Lucas Kunin on the Red Bull KTM.
06:17With the problems for Fevre in the first race,
06:20and for Hurlings,
06:21and now the problems for Geiser,
06:22that opens up the podium.
06:24So we're looking at Fernandes and Andrea Adamo
06:26to look and pick up his first MXGP class podium.
06:29DeWolf is in the hunt as well, as is Maxime Renault.
06:31So all of these guys now looking to pick up a rare podium,
06:34and some of the big chiefs have issues in either one of the races.
06:37Yeah, 3.5 for Fernandes.
06:39We'll put him on 36 points, second overall.
06:42And Andrea Adamo will be 34 with a 7.3.
06:47Kaida Wolf and Maxime Renault both on 31 points apiece at the moment.
06:50So they need three, maybe four points to get onto the podium,
06:53as it stands right now.
06:56But Lucas Kunin, really,
07:00just in a different class at the moment, it would appear.
07:02Jeffrey Hurlings, no answer for him.
07:04And actually, how much was that loss of Hurlings
07:07in that first race?
07:08Because obviously, yes, the rain comes.
07:10It said around about five o'clock.
07:11It's now approaching 5.17 in about four seconds time.
07:16I'm being accurate.
07:19Jeffrey Hurlings, when he went out,
07:20he did about seven or eight laps, didn't he, in race one.
07:24Losing a lot of track intel in terms of the later stages of the race.
07:27Yes, it was more technical than now.
07:30But that mind, that racing mind that he didn't have
07:33for that whole sort of 17 laps really costing him.
07:37Oh, DeWolf up the inside.
07:40Fernandez, as he chases the Spaniard to try and get himself on the podium.
07:47Back end just lighting up through that left-hander on the Nissan Husqvarna briefly.
07:52Not sure if it was asking too much of the rear wheel there, or just got on the gas a
07:55little too early, or if he caught on off camber.
07:58But now we have a game changer because the rain falling, and it will start to fall heavier as this
08:02race goes on.
08:04For the third time today, EMX 250 and MX2, and now here.
08:12But so far, the MXGP riders have had the long straw if you like.
08:18EMX 250 got the short straw in terms of the track conditions for their second race of the weekend,
08:22when it was earlier on today, around about 11.30.
08:26MX2, for their second race, they also had a bit of a downpour.
08:32And this is the difference now, isn't it, Paul?
08:34Because, yeah, the new surface, of course, in some places it won't be as thick, won't be as deep,
08:38and therefore this rain will give you slick patches quicker than if it is those deeper parts.
08:44Well, another fastest lap last time around, 158.391 for Lucas Coonan on the Red Bull KTM.
08:49It extends his lead to almost four seconds.
08:52Top, that's the result, yeah, you're riding top.
08:55And flow is the message.
08:56We are getting ready to go down to pit lane and talk to Davide Di Kali.
09:00Of course, as Lucas Coonan crossed the line, four laps in the books.
09:04Geoffrey Hurlings will now be 4.3 seconds behind on the Honda HRC Patronus machine.
09:10But this is one of those flowy kind of feelings for Lucas Coonan.
09:15He doesn't even look like he's, he doesn't even sound like he's riding in any kind of urgency as well.
09:20Riding a gear taller than everybody else.
09:22But as we prepare to go down to Lisa and Davide Di Kali,
09:27Lucas Coonan currently leads by 4.3 seconds over Hurlings with Adamo in third.
09:37Davide Di Kali, two foxhole shots.
09:39He won the first race.
09:40He's leading this race.
09:42So far, Lucas Coonan just seems to be too cool for school under loads of different positions.
09:48All of his other main rivals have had problems.
09:51And he's managed to be smart enough to escape them.
09:54At the moment, so far, so good.
09:56So far, so good.
09:57At the moment, we can't complain.
09:59We got two good starts, two big holes shots, which help in this difficult condition.
10:06Because track is really demanding with deep ruts and it's very bumpy the track and difficult.
10:13It's a bit weird the situation because before we missed one rider and now we missed another one.
10:18But we need to play smart and be safe in view of a championship perspective.
10:23Best of luck to the team.
10:24Thank you, Davide.
10:26Right at the end of that interview.
10:28I want to see a replay of that.
10:29Both of us were out of our seats here.
10:31As we were talking about riding smart, the back end came so far around and almost threw him out the
10:36side door.
10:39Not content with winning the MXGP class.
10:41I think he would win Speedway GP with that.
10:43Speedway GP?
10:44Unbelievable.
10:45Wow, I'll tell you what.
10:47He could audition for a fighter pilot if he got ejected out the side door there, couldn't he?
10:51Anyway, here is Kiter Wolf going after the 70 of Ruben Fernandes.
10:57These two, fifth and sixth at the moment.
10:59Fernandes on the Honda ahead of him.
11:00DeWolf in sixth.
11:01Again, Fernandes on 36 point.
11:04Watch this here.
11:05Back end lighting up and then just comes back the other way.
11:09Not as much as we thought initially, but he probably doesn't even know that that happened.
11:13That's the beauty of that.
11:14Because when you're riding without a care in the world, you get away with stuff like that all day long.
11:20It was very nearly an absolutely perfect drift, wasn't it?
11:22It just brought a bit of that last moment in the smaller screen we saw it on.
11:26It looked bigger than that.
11:27But yeah, that was a great start from Kiter.
11:30Kiter Wolf just getting hung up mid-turn.
11:32Ruben Fernandes to the outside, just going a little bit deep as well.
11:35Two thirds of the way round.
11:36Both riders, a couple of bike lengths apart here.
11:39Kiter Wolf really trying his best to find his way past the Spaniard on that Honda ahead of him.
11:45Fernandes would lose a couple of points.
11:47DeWolf would gain a couple of points here in terms of the podium chase.
11:51Andrea Adamo would be the one that loses out potentially, or...?
11:56Not quite.
11:57Not quite, because he is ahead of both these guys at the moment in that third place.
12:02In fact, if DeWolf was to finish ahead of Fernandes here, it would knock Fernandes behind Adamo,
12:07because Adamo would take it on the tie-break, and DeWolf not quite close enough.
12:10Here is DeWolf, muscles his way up the inside, tries to play Kirby's, and then he gets caught in the
12:16rut.
12:17Kirby's what we used to play on BMX's when he used to run the front wheel on the top of
12:20the kerb,
12:21and then the back wheel, and then just try and pedal the way along.
12:23And that's exactly what he tried to do there.
12:25Kai DeWolf, he was aggressive, no doubt about that, but wasn't able to make the move stick.
12:31And then just cost himself a lot of time.
12:36Now, two and a half seconds behind the Spaniard, who is there, away in the distance.
12:41Just the other side of Liqui Moly Mountain.
12:43Yeah, back to uncorking that Hasbana along the start straight exit there,
12:48and back onto the case of Fernandes already.
12:51Won't take him long, I believe he's got more pace than the Spaniard, but here we are.
12:54Yeah, just right, well, he just got squeezed, and then the front was on the top,
12:57the back end had nowhere to go, just dropped.
12:59Back marker, running into the back of Kai DeWolf.
13:02As if, say, I'm supposed to be the back marker here, not you.
13:06I'm not getting the blue flags.
13:09But he's responded well, since he made that mistake, Kai DeWolf.
13:13Right the way back onto the rear wheel of the Spaniard.
13:16And as we hit the line at the end of lap six, the gap between Fernandes and DeWolf
13:20is back down to less than a second, .993.
13:24And it's good to see Kevin Haugmo in seventh place.
13:27Up there in a good position, he had a decent start, I noticed, there in the top five.
13:30Lost a couple of places, but yeah, seventh at the moment, he's got Renault behind him.
13:34Kevin Haugmo with, obviously, all the issues there for the team.
13:36It's good to see him scoring well, and Bonacorsi up in the top ten, as is Oriolo there.
13:40Yeah, Kevin Haugmo with just two top ten finishes so far this year.
13:44Eighth in race one in Switzerland, ninth in France race two.
13:46And obviously, now, looking like he's going to be finishing seventh,
13:50although they're about certainly inside the top ten if things go to plan.
13:54Bonacorsi with a crash early on in race one.
13:57I did see him, he said the ruts are incredible, but yeah, he did have early crashes,
14:00which cost him any chance of points.
14:02But ninth, so far, would be his best finish of the year.
14:04He was twice the tenth last week for eighth overall.
14:07Adamo and Fevre here doing battle over third position.
14:10The gap between those two, about a second and a half-ish, 1.6.
14:13Through those deep ruts, through there, 15, 16, up onto the plateau here.
14:19Team looking on anxiously because, obviously, Roman Fevre, an expensive race for him
14:22in the first one, down in 17th position.
14:25Still going to maintain third place in the championship, though,
14:27but that is helped massively by the fact that Geiser is now only in 22nd place
14:32after falling through the final turn, turn five, dropping his way down
14:37at the end of pit lane into the run towards the finish line area on the opening lap.
14:41Very lucky to get away from that.
14:42But he is in a non-point scoring right at the moment.
14:46Tim Geiser, who was second in race one.
14:48Yeah, and he's ten seconds back of Ben Watson,
14:50who currently holds the last point scoring position at 20th place.
14:53So he's got nearly five seconds to catch up to Max Spies,
14:55and then another five to catch up to Ben.
14:57So he's got a lot of work to do to get anything out of this race.
15:01Yeah, Ben Watson not enjoying his time here.
15:04Did he score points in the first race? I don't believe he did.
15:09As Fevre crossed the line to complete lap seven.
15:13No, he was 21st was Ben, so if he gets scored by Geiser,
15:15it's going to be the same again.
15:17The Dragonback here.
15:19Roman Fevre coming out of that left turn.
15:22Earlier on the day, he was able to go triple over the Dragon's back
15:25and then double his way in, or at least drop single single to hold a nice tight line.
15:30But conditions now may be a little bit chewed up coming out of this turn.
15:33Maybe even the takeoff not as pronounced as it was earlier on today.
15:38I've been enjoying the German pronunciation of Dragon's back.
15:40You've never heard it quite sound so dangerous as when a German commentator tells you about it.
15:44Well, the fear of getting in trouble, I'm not even going to ask you to do that live on air,
15:47but if you're just whispering in my ear later on.
15:51Kevin Horgmo now getting pressure from Maxime Renault.
15:56Who had a feisty first race, it's got to be said.
15:59Yeah.
16:01Horgmo there on the Honda Motor Blues SR machine.
16:05This is Vlanderen over on our left.
16:08Oh, I tell you what, follows the front and somehow stays up on two wheels.
16:13Re-emerges there.
16:15But a little bit of an off-track excursion for the Red Bull Ducati rider.
16:18Keeps it upright in 15th.
16:20I think he was trying to go past Jago Kietz there, wasn't he?
16:22On the MRT racing beta.
16:24Yeah, they're currently 14th and 15th at the moment in favour of Kietz
16:27with Vlanderen just behind them in 16th place.
16:30Then Tom Cox, one of the top Germans, I believe.
16:32No, no, Ludwig at the top German in 13th right now.
16:38Anyway, what have we got here?
16:40Maxime Renault, he is in 8th place and he is 5th overall in the classification at the moment.
16:45And where he is now, Horgmo is going to be in 7th with 14 points.
16:5113 points for Renault, so he's like 1 point kind of increments now, isn't he,
16:55in terms of that until he gets a little bit higher up.
16:57So he needs a couple of passes to even think about challenging for the podium.
17:00Certainly two, maybe three passes.
17:04But the problem is, like, you've got Horgmo there who's being very, very stubborn.
17:09And then you've got 2.8, nearly 3 seconds to DeWolf.
17:13So, I'm going to say it's impossible, especially with 13 minutes plus 2 laps to go.
17:16Anything can happen, especially with circuit conditions the way they are.
17:20But it's looking highly unlikely that Renault can make his way into the podium
17:26unless a couple of mistakes from other riders kind of fall his way.
17:31Yeah, and DeWolf is, Fernandes is holding DeWolf at arm's length, isn't he?
17:34He's told two and a half, three seconds,
17:35and DeWolf has not made the ground back from that mistake earlier.
17:39So, yeah, Fernandes at the moment still looking at a very strong podium position as it stands.
17:44Continue to follow this battle here.
17:45The Honda Motor Blues SR motor rider, Kevin Horgmo.
17:51We spoke to him, didn't we, at the start of the weekend in terms of our behind the gate.
17:55That'll be coming up on Tuesday.
17:57And he's actually going to be heading back home to Norway to spend time there
18:00because he said where he's based now, where the team is based in the south of France
18:03where he trains with Yves DeMaria.
18:06It's so hot down there now and the tracks are so dry
18:08that it's probably more beneficial to actually be home and riding there
18:12and also getting to spend a little bit of time with family, you know.
18:15So, he's got an interesting time coming up
18:17and it'd be nice to see how he kind of follows on from that.
18:21He says for Latvia anyway, he always seems to go home in and around that time.
18:24So, with Latvia then a week off, maybe a little bit of time at home is what he needs as
18:29well
18:29with, as you say, other things that are going on at the moment.
18:31Yeah, and it's better preparation.
18:33Yeah, we understand that he has not got to visit his teammates, which I think I fully understand.
18:37But, yeah, for sure, going back to Norway is going to be better preparation than Latvia.
18:41Geoffrey Hurling's here, fastest in sector one, fastest in sector two.
18:44He was about a tenth off of Kunin in sector three, but the gap 5.3 seconds.
18:49Is he now starting to think about 11 and a half minutes to go, plus two laps?
18:54As the pit crew put minus five, as in minus five seconds to Lukas Kunin.
19:01Is he now going to start chewing away at the lead?
19:04Well, it was about two tenths off that time around, so the gap increasing to 6.2 seconds.
19:10So, if Kunin looked across during sectors one and two and saw maybe even a hint of a threat,
19:15the Belgian has responded well and just found another gear.
19:20Sounds like he's already riding in fifth gear, but he's probably only got a four-speed box on that KTM
19:24anyway.
19:25You know what I mean?
19:27This is Fevre, Fevre in fourth, chasing down Adamo.
19:34So, Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP going after the Red Bull KTM of Andrea Adamo as they move up into turn
19:41ten here.
19:43Slightly wider run in for Adamo. Fevre was able to close him down there a little bit as traffic was
19:50just in the line of sight there.
19:51A slight bobble for Fevre. And then the 3.38 just keeping out of the way. I think it was
19:55a 3.38, yeah.
19:56Yeah, Olsen. Philip Olsen.
20:03Adamo at the moment in line for his first MXGP class podium. And if he got past by Fevre, he
20:08still would be in that position.
20:09But it would be tentative though, because it looks like Renault has made moves.
20:13Renault has gone up past Kevin Horgmo now into seventh place, so that means it is at the moment they
20:18would be level.
20:19But of course, Adamo would take it on the second race tiebreaker. He is still ahead of the other Frenchman,
20:23as well as this Frenchman that is currently giving him outsell.
20:26And you sense a bit of urgency now from Roman Fevre, don't you? Just fed up of eating the roost
20:30here.
20:31This was Renault getting the better of Horgmo possibly, who messed up coming out of turn six after the finish
20:37line area.
20:38So, Maxime Renault then, he has now got clear track to go after Kai de Waulf as he moves up
20:42into seventh place.
20:44And it was Fevre going down there as we came back to our live images.
20:48Fevre once again making a slight mistake.
20:52And it looks like it's just landed on that clutch lever there as well, and just trying to get it
20:56all freed up.
20:57Because sometimes you go down and you get dirt in and around there, even though you've got your handguard on.
21:01Just with the dirt, if you fall down and you take a big lump in there, doesn't disengage ever so,
21:06you know, too much.
21:07So he was just making sure that everything was working there, because otherwise that clutch would then start to suffer
21:12in the latter stages of the race.
21:13So, at least he didn't just try and rush back into the race.
21:16I was admiring the gentlemanly approach to Philip Olsen again, just backing off alone, Fevre to get back up and
21:21into the race.
21:22So, yeah, good riding there for the veteran Swede.
21:24But yeah, Fevre is just not quite going his way here, is it? He goes to make a move here
21:28at Adamo. We get the replay.
21:29Yeah, and as he tried, this is turn two, just gets cross-rutted. Oh, he just tagged the rear wheel
21:35of Adamo.
21:36So, either Adamo heard him coming and decided to move over, or he just got cross-rutted himself.
21:41Well, yeah, he was just off-balance look, and then just responded as Fevre sort of heard, as he heard
21:46Fevre coming up around here outside.
21:48Fevre, nothing he could do there, on the brake, slightly out of control, all the way on the back of
21:52the bike.
21:52And as soon as that front wheel tips over, it's like someone sweeping your leg in karate.
21:58Kunan earnings, Adamo. Still podiums looking at possible for Fernandez and Adamo.
22:05Both riders haven't seen a podium since China last year.
22:08Now, when Fernandez was third in MXGP and Adamo was second in MX2, Fernandez, second overall, is better than anything
22:15he would have had last year.
22:17So, superb prospect of a result, yeah, let's not call it, but yeah, for certain he has got a great
22:22chance here of a really solid result.
22:24And, yeah, I mean, in a year when he's got two big teammates joining the squad, you know, he's very
22:29much been felt like a third wheel.
22:31And, yeah, to get this result would be a real bonus for him.
22:34Just looking at timing there, 21st place now for Tim Geiser, who just finds his way past Roman Amostike.
22:39I wonder how battered and beat up he is.
22:41Remember, he had the ribbon tree from his big crash inside of there.
22:44He rode through the pain barrier in Trentino, came away with a victory in race one, had five weeks to
22:48sort of heal and recuperate.
22:50Then, of course, in France a week ago, turn two, he had another big smash and smashed his leg and
22:56his knee.
22:57Watch here now, second rider in shot, goes down hard on the opening lap, so he hits the ground hard
23:02there.
23:03So, any kind of injuries that he already had there, he's probably now just thinking, man, you know, what can
23:09I do to get a break here?
23:12So, obviously, there in 21st position, I would not say he's feeling first hand, not even second hand.
23:18More like third or fourth, fifth hand, handlebars damaged and bent.
23:21Yeah, he's...
23:22Rider, body, battered and bruised maybe, just trying to get through and trying to salvage as many points as possible.
23:27Tough break for the Slovenian here today in race two.
23:29Yeah, he's sporting the Romano Fervo Majora bend of underbars at the moment and...
23:34No, no, they were extreme. They were extreme in 2015.
23:38That's where, you know, those bends have gone out of fashion now.
23:42Yeah, and it's, I mean, like I say, I'd said it before in the early races, but, yeah,
23:47he crashed in warm-up and it was only a small one, but he got up and he just visibly
23:52looked in pain
23:52and he really is being put through the mill in this sector of the championship.
23:57It's such a shame for Tim because he's, yeah, but he's really showing how tough he is.
24:01Yeah, Michele Levetti during race one during a pit lane interview said he actually was okay.
24:05It was just a small crash, nothing, but, you know, it might have looked like a small crash,
24:09but if you fall awkwardly, you can just have those implications, can't it?
24:14Geoffrey Hurling, seven seconds down on Lucas Kuna now as Fernandez and De Wolf continue their scrap,
24:21and it is a scrap for fifth place.
24:23The Spaniard knows that the Dutchman is there. He rehearsed it a couple of laps ago.
24:27It didn't work then. It works perfectly well. This time, almost.
24:31Tell you what, I'll put my foot in my mouth because he looked like he got it going there,
24:35and all of a sudden, he takes them both down. He picks himself up first, but those two, they just
24:40can't be separated.
24:41And look who has joined the party. Maxim and I, he splits them up, says,
24:44come on, guys, ding, ding, round three. We'll do that later on in the race.
24:48But in the meantime, I'll be the ref and I'll try and do something about Guido Wolf for you.
24:53I don't know if I've ever seen a referee join a fight though, Paul. He is absolutely not going to
24:57give way.
24:57Tell you what, a lot of people said they wouldn't want to fight Maxim Rino on our socials.
25:01That's true. It did. In fact, I think Rino Fernandez were the top of the game if they didn't want
25:04to fight, weren't they?
25:05And here they are now, look, Klein the Stern in sixth and seventh place now as the Frenchman on the
25:09Yamaha ahead of the Spaniard.
25:12Yeah, I doubt this one's going to go down to a points decision between these two.
25:16And yeah, how's that affected the podium? Well, I guess it has because Damo now looking like second overall.
25:20Replay here. He was just legging his way through. Parks, Fernandez quite literally got up quick before the traffic wardens
25:28came
25:29to issue the tickets, but not before Maxim Rino could get around the outside and split them up.
25:36DeWolf fifth, Renault sixth, Fernandez now seventh.
25:39As it stands, Adamo still on the podium but in second now because on the tiebreak he would be there.
25:44He's level on points with Fernandez. Renault is just one back and DeWolf just one further back from him.
25:49So at the moment, Renault really needs to get past DeWolf to get himself onto the podium.
25:54And in fact, it would be second overall if he did so.
25:57You'd think Ruben Fernandez would have learned from the last one, wouldn't he?
26:00He probably would have a little bit of Rubens racing a couple of laps ago where he maybe felt the
26:03front wheel just up the inside of the thigh there,
26:06or maybe even tag the motorcycle. And he knew that he could probably hear him and thought,
26:10well, it didn't work first time around. It's not going to work this time around.
26:14Just didn't lean on him hard enough, did he? And there was half a gap there for the 74.
26:19But then obviously you go in there and you end up a little bit of scrap metal at the turn
26:23temporarily.
26:25Yeah, I mean, what I like about it there from Fernandez is that he didn't obviously lose his rack straight
26:29away at DeWolf.
26:30I mean, all the riders understand how difficult it is to make a pass here.
26:33And they know that, yeah, to do any racing, you've got to do some rubbing.
26:37Lucas Coonan just having a word with the handlebar there in that final sort of right turn before they reemerge
26:44around the outside of Turn 1.
26:46Little moment there for him. Nine seconds clear of Hurlings now.
26:49Geisser into the points just behind Watson, so he has found his way past Spies, salvaging something at least.
26:56But Maxime Renault here finds his way past Kaida-Wolf, who's disappearing into the distance, will find himself on the
27:02podium
27:03because it's Andrea Adama on 34, Fernandez on 34, Maxime Renault now on 33, DeWolf on 32.
27:14Looking like a decent sixth overall for Alberto Ferrato, that would be his equal best of the season.
27:19Looking good there, and Hordmo seventh ahead of the battle.
27:23Battered Tim Geisser and, of course, Hurlings and Fevre with really just one good score between them.
27:28Shame we had that rain, actually, because circuit conditions were absolutely prime on Saturday for the qualifying and all of
27:33the free practice, time practice sessions.
27:36Yes, it got chewed up. It got, you know, pretty gnarly and stuff like that because it is motocross.
27:40We're not here in MotoGP and certainly not football where it's a, you know, a blade of grass and a
27:46flat field.
27:47But Maxime Renault making the best of these situations on his Monster Energy Yamaha there in sixth place.
27:54DeWolf 2.7 seconds clear though with two and a half minutes plus two laps to go.
27:59Ferrato is moved up to Bonacorsi, so a couple of Italians there scrapping.
28:04Ferrato into ninth now as he gets down the inside of the Red Bull Ducati.
28:09And that was as easy as it gets for Abi Ferrato, who's now chasing six overall.
28:15Yeah, not much change on those guys and you get those two guys on the track.
28:18There's not much space for anybody else.
28:21Kaido Wolf has weathered the storm, hasn't he, perfectly.
28:23That little bit of red mist coming down to try and get past El Toro, or the Terminator as we
28:29used to call him, Ruben Fernandez.
28:33But Fernandez just a little bit slower to pick himself up in this corner.
28:40And he got caught napping there by Maxime Renault, who's now sixth in the race.
28:45Two and a half seconds further up the track.
28:47That was sweet from DeWolf, a nice little hop over that inside rut slash bug there.
28:51And yeah, that's the sort of technical riding that is making him gain that time over Renault and Fernandez.
28:56They're not catching him because he's just putting sweet little moves like that.
28:58He really is a master of flicking the bike around, even on the big 450.
29:03Just looking at Jeffrey Herling's right hand guard there, just like it's a little bit lower than it normally would
29:08be.
29:09Ever so slightly.
29:12Yeah, taking, yeah, definitely pointing a little bit further south, maybe collided with a lapped rider perhaps.
29:18Plenty of them around here.
29:21Here's Fevre catching Adamo.
29:23Again?
29:24Yes again.
29:26So Adamo's still hanging on to third.
29:28Roman Fevre will be thinking, you know what?
29:30I'm going to get my opportunity, try and find my way past.
29:34Now, as you said, if he does that, Adamo on 20 points at the moment, Fevre on 18.
29:39It will take two points away from the Italian.
29:43That will put him on 32.
29:45Does that promote Max and Renault to the podium?
29:48Yeah, Fernandez would then be second overall, Renault would be third.
29:50And I know those two, there's no love lost between Fevre and Renault.
29:56Sure, there wouldn't be an exact thank you in it as well.
29:59He'd sort of say, thanks for helping me onto the podium, buddy.
30:01You know, won't be one of those moments.
30:03But Roman Fevre just needs the points.
30:04He's that top three finish in the race.
30:08Because you don't know how important that's going to be come the end of the season.
30:11Yeah.
30:11Yes, he's losing ground at the moment this weekend because of what happened in race one.
30:1517th.
30:16But for Roman Fevre,
30:20every point is going to be counting and every point is going to be crucial.
30:29What have we got? Two and a bit laps to go.
30:32Adamo here about 25 seconds down on Lucas Kunin, your race leader.
30:35So he's going to be not far off from hitting the line for the two lap board.
30:39I would imagine Lucas Kunin.
30:45In fact, there he is top of the screen heading into the penultimate corner.
30:49Now, that's what about 25 seconds looks like between first and third.
30:54But again, Lucas Kunin, just in terms of his prowess and these kind of, you know,
31:03not the easiest of conditions.
31:04But Lucas Kunin has made these conditions his own to go at the moment.
31:08What looks like he's going to be 1-1.
31:11Absolutely sublime, majestic riding, catching everybody off guard, I think.
31:18But he has respect to the racetrack and just ridden a gear higher.
31:22Doesn't sound like he's revved the bike at all.
31:24Hasn't been flustered or anything like that.
31:28See the city jump, top left corner of the screen.
31:29That's Kunin there.
31:31Adamo and Fevre into the corner here now, just after the finish.
31:35So two laps to go for these two.
31:37Question is, will Fevre try and rush something like he did with Max and Renault
31:42in a corner like this in the first race and pay the consequences.
31:45The crash that he had with Adamo a moment ago wasn't his fault.
31:49Adamo was offline and ended up sort of like getting cross-rotted into Fevre.
31:53As you said, couldn't really do anything about it, Ben.
31:55But Fevre will be once bitten, twice shy, but will also be mindful of the fact
32:00that he needs to be absolutely inch-perfect when he does make that move.
32:03But you know he's going to go for it.
32:05He has to go for it.
32:06It's two points through as far as he's concerned.
32:09Andre Adamo is not a championship threat.
32:11He's not in the championship.
32:12He's a rookie.
32:13He would have the experience.
32:14He would have the more gravitas, if you like.
32:16He knows that if he shows Adamo a wheel, he's likely to get through.
32:19Adamo's a tough cookie, for sure.
32:21No pushover.
32:22He would know that, but Fevre will want to assert his authority here
32:24and snap these extra couple of points that could be so vital, like you say.
32:31Just over a lap to go.
32:35Battle for this third place in the race.
32:37Tense.
32:39Certainly for Rebel KTM, because obviously they know that Fevre finds his way past.
32:43That's their boy off the podium.
32:46And it will be a one-two as well.
32:47The one-two Rebel KTM at the moment on the podium with Rupert Fernandes putting the Honda HRC Patronus up
32:52there.
32:53And yeah, Adamo in this position right now.
32:56If he were to lose it, Fernandes goes second and Renault goes third and Adamo would go fourth.
33:00And he's chasing the outside here.
33:01Slight mistake.
33:02Back marker in his line of sight.
33:04Fevre is going to have to go the long way around here, but it's going to be too long.
33:06But he knows that.
33:08He commits to the inside.
33:09And actually, it's Adamo who goes to the outside there and almost gets caught here by Fevre.
33:14Fevre is going to be muscling his way through here.
33:16Can he find a way through?
33:18Not quite.
33:21Lucky escaped that from Adamo.
33:22Yeah, all of those ruts are horrendously deep and very tricky.
33:25None of them able to power through as they wanted to.
33:27So here we go then.
33:28Last lap board is out.
33:29And these two have got just that 1,600 meters to decide who is going to take this one.
33:34And whether it's going to be a podium for the first time in MXGP for Andrea Adamo.
33:38He did get fifth overall round two in Spain.
33:42He was six in France a week ago.
33:44But to be on the podium, and then podium contention.
33:48Currently sitting there second overall at the moment, Andrea Adamo.
33:54And he's got his heart in his mouth here because he's got traffic.
33:57Doesn't know whether to go left of the back mark or right.
33:59He goes to the left and Fevre is the rider that gets held up here briefly by Cato Nickel on
34:05the 1.31.
34:06Does his best to stay out of the way.
34:07He sets the urgency now.
34:10Really starting to intensify for Roman Fevre.
34:14Knows he's got an opportunity here for a top three.
34:17He doesn't know that Adamo is going to be on or off the podium at this stage, I'm sure.
34:20Doesn't care, I suspect.
34:22Doesn't care either.
34:23Especially as he came across and put it down on his ear a few laps back.
34:30Of course that was on lap 10.
34:31We are now on lap 17.
34:33The final lap here.
34:35Yeah, at the site of Adamo's most recent Grand Prix win there in MX2 last year.
34:40And he was on the podium two years before that second overall.
34:42So Adamo has records here.
34:43And he wants to keep going with his trophy collection from Teuschenthal as Lucas Kunen.
34:48Absolutely imperious Paul.
34:49This is looking scary for the rest of the field.
34:52Especially now that he's got breathing room in the championship.
34:54He doesn't have to worry too much about hurlings.
34:56He's going to have a 30 plus point gap going into this one.
34:59Going out, going into Latvia.
35:00Out of the final turn.
35:02He has been inch perfect here this weekend.
35:05Lucas Kunen your winner in race one.
35:06He takes his eighth win of the season in race two.
35:09Goes 1-1 here to win the Liqui Moly MXGP of Germany in fine style.
35:14Barely breaking a sweat in the process.
35:17Jeffrey Hurlings 4.8 seconds further back.
35:19But Kunen backing it off on the final lap.
35:22Hurlings disappointed not to have finished first, finished race one.
35:27Adamo will cross the line in third and he will take his first podium in MXGP.
35:32And that's what it means to the Italian.
35:35His last podium was China where he was second overall in MX2 last year.
35:44Kaida Wolf is not going to be on the podium here this weekend.
35:50But Ruben Fernandes will round out the final turn.
35:56Head to the finish line.
35:57He will cross the line in seventh.
35:58He might not realize it yet.
36:00But he is also on the podium third overall in Germany.
36:07And you know when Gigi's there telling you to go that way.
36:10You know that's a good...
