00:0015 secondes para a final time
00:01today here at the Liqui Moly
00:03MXGP of Germany
00:09That will turn to 5
00:11There's Langenfelder, he's feeling under the weather
00:13A bit of a cold coming into his home Grand Prix
00:16At the moment he does not
00:17lead the championship, he has the championship leader's red plate
00:19but he's 6 points behind
00:21Sascha Kunin after his victory in race 1
00:24But who's he going to be that hits the
00:25hole shot line, foxhole shot line there
00:27for Sascha Kunin once again
00:298th now in the season
00:31for the KTM rider, somehow
00:33pulling it out of the bag at the last minute
00:35as he keeps Valan at bay
00:37just as it was in race 1
00:39Kunin leads, Valan 2nd
00:41Langenfelder 3rd this time around
00:444th there, jumping into
00:45the rut was the 99 of
00:47Guilherme Ferez and then one of the race lists again
00:49I think it's Yanis over on the far side
00:51he's going to be around about 5th or 6th place
00:53but
00:54Ben, an important gate drop
00:57here for this second race
00:59because the circuit is going to be a lot smoother in one or two areas
01:03which means it's going to be playing harder to catch up and things like that
01:06Yes, absolutely, yeah, they've got small form as we go through the race
01:09Maxime Gros actually got away 4th in the very beginning of the race there
01:12but ran wide as they ran back across the start straight and lost several positions
01:16Lata is now much higher than the 7th place you see on screen
01:19I believe he's up into the top 5 already
01:20Yeah, well Langenfelder there in 3rd then Ferez
01:23Gros was in there before briefly but I'm not sure where he has gone
01:27or whether that was just a glitch but here we see Yanis raceless coming towards
01:31you've got Lata behind him and the 33 in blue of Kai Carsmakers on the Dixon race in Kawasaki
01:36so great start for the Dutchman around about 8th place
01:38McClellan just behind them in 9th place just going through there
01:42and there was Maxime Gros just behind him
01:44so Gros initially good off the start
01:46but the number 83 of the inside on the red Honda
01:48just behind McClellan those two around about 8th 9th place
01:51Liam Evans again not a great getaway but he just walks his way around the outside of Gros
01:55and comes up to McClellan as Carsmakers challenges Lata
02:01Raceless defends that inside and that downhill sweeping left 13 up into 14 here
02:06and as we drop down into 15 this flat left
02:08there were so many ruts through there in race 1
02:11but you can see it's just been smoothed over
02:13there are options there
02:14it just depends how they utilise this brand new circuit conditions
02:18after the work gone on by the track crew in this early stages of this race
02:22you can hear the German crowd there Paul already getting into it
02:25much happier with their reigning champion
02:26the first time they've been able to cheer a reigning champion outside of WMX at this circuit
02:30and they are enjoying that he's up in third place
02:32it is a beautiful national national colour outfit there
02:36yeah at the same time Langenfelder he will want to be on the podium at the very very least
02:41he's off of it by a point at the moment if you were to put the flag out now
02:44of course it is all early days still working our way towards the end of this first
02:48official lap with 27 and a half minutes to go but Sasha Coonan at the moment intent
02:53he is only one thing on his mind trying to go 1-1 take more points out of seam on
02:58Langenfelder
02:58he wants to leave here with the championship leaders red plate
03:01just as Adamo did last year when he was victorious
03:04and snatching the red plate away from Langenfelder who arrived last year
03:08with it on the front of his KTM
03:09yeah Sasha Coonan held the red plate going into the first full Sunday of the season
03:14after winning the first qualifying race in Argentina
03:16he lost it instantly after a crash there in race two
03:19and then he also claimed it back briefly after the qualifying race in Switzerland
03:22but again lost it to Langenfelder who has held it ever since
03:25so Sasha Coonan at 1.57.9 already 2.4 seconds clear
03:29here is Mattis Vallin, Kawasaki Racing Team MX2
03:32he is in second, the Frenchman, he was on the podium a week ago in France
03:36he is going to be on the podium again this weekend
03:38Seymour Langenfelder losing touch, he is three and a half seconds behind in fourth place
03:42and just as we look towards page two on our timing screen
03:45Carlos Raceless who was tenth in race one has got a lot of work to do
03:49he is 21st at the moment after one lap of this second MX2 race
03:52so he has got a lot of work to do whether that was a first turn, first lap issue
03:56or just a bad start, we don't know as of yet
03:59but clearly the Latvian with a lot of work to do going forward
04:06Langenfelder trying to tiptoe his way round through turn 14
04:09down into 15 here
04:11and it might just be you know that they used the early part of this racetrack
04:14because obviously it's going to be soft and patchy in one or two areas
04:17we've got the rain coming down
04:18don't rush things in the first two laps
04:20because if you do that's when the pack is closer together
04:24you run the risk of making a mistake
04:25and then losing a lot of positions in quick succession
04:28but it looks like the top three really
04:30I mean they're sort of what seven seconds over Ferez in fourth
04:34and as a result of that maybe now they can start to think about
04:37well let's see if we can just turn up the screw a little bit here
04:40because Kunin he's starting to break free
04:42three seconds clear of Valan
04:44who has two and a half over Langenfelder here
04:46Langenfelder could do with getting a race win here though couldn't he
04:49yes he very much could do with that result
04:52because yeah he needs to claw back the points
04:54he started this race six behind Sasha Kunin
04:56and yeah he's going to need a mistake from the Belgian
04:58I think to get that back
04:59as meanwhile we see the battle here between McClellan and Kai Paul
05:03McClellan round the outside
05:04drags him down the straight
05:06into turn four
05:07picks him off
05:08McClellan moves into seventh
05:10at the end of lap two
05:13next man on his side
05:14Valerio Lata
05:14Honda HRC
05:15Petronas
05:16just there in white
05:18just ahead of the rider number eight
05:19right now you see the back of the number 18 just there
05:22fixed all the ruts on some of the takeoffs and then in some of those long turns
05:26like here for instance this was an absolute nightmare for ruts as it always is
05:30but that should be a lot more open although the favored line the shortest line through any of these corners
05:35is always the inside
05:36line and so that's the first line that's going to be that's going to get deeper get more chewed up
05:41as a result of that then they will start to go wider and wider out looking for fresh dirt
05:45yeah and as 30 plus sets of wheels
05:47cramble
05:49crammer through the mud
05:49I'll find my words in a minute
05:51carve their way through the mud
05:52then yeah those inside ruts will get
05:54will come out quickly soon
05:56I don't know what
05:56I'll sort of
05:57better sweet
05:58that wasn't very good at all
05:59right
06:00Sasha Coonan leads in
06:01Valant second
06:02Langerfeld third
06:03Ferez fourth
06:04racialist
06:05Giannis racialist five
06:06that's a six
06:06McClellan here
06:07on the number eight
06:08he's in seven
06:09cars makers on the 33
06:10behind him in the blue and white
06:11ninth is Evert
06:12it's another poor start for the Nostanuswana
06:14Maxim Groh did get a good jump
06:16but is now found his way back to 10 already
06:19as far as the opening lap
06:20then we got Mikola
06:21Zanotz
06:21Valentin Keyes the German
06:23good start for him
06:24Ben Musto
06:25Zanke on the Ducati
06:27then Carlos Racist
06:28already up into 16
06:29Andrea Rossi
06:30Kalemo
06:31Krug
06:32and Gundersen
06:32Pele Gundersen
06:33down there in 12th place
06:34uh 20th place on the number 12
06:38for any Ducati fans there
06:40Zanke was 15th in race one
06:41exactly where he is at the moment
06:43but yeah didn't feature on our screens at all
06:45but uh yeah
06:45the only 250 Ducati out there
06:47is currently exactly where he finished race one
06:4915th place
06:49uh behind Ben Musto
06:51when his MX2 debut
06:52great riding from the brick
06:5314th already
06:54lap times in race one
06:56210.3 at the moment
06:58considerably quicker than that
06:59Sasha Coonan
07:00so uh
07:00whatever happens
07:01the achieve his fastest lap
07:03will happen in race two
07:04a lot of that is down to the fact that we
07:07did have dry conditions towards the end of MXGP race one
07:10the track work and anticipation of the weather in race two
07:13meaning that we do have a faster racetrack just by default really
07:18three laps complete
07:19Sasha Coonan continues to leave
07:20Valerio Latta on screen here continues to sit there in six
07:23being pushed by the number eight
07:25Camden McClellan
07:26McClellan will leave here fifth overall in the championship just as he arrived
07:30behind Everts
07:31Everts going back ahead of him by two points
07:33as it stands right now this is a gap between first and second just over one and a half seconds
07:38Valant catching the number 19 of Sasha Coonan
07:42this time last year as we get over this liquid molly jump
07:44Sasha Coonan decided to turn right and headed up there
07:47somewhere had a word with our cameraman
07:50but uh this time he obviously tries to keep it
07:54rubber side up
07:55yeah that would be nice and not rubber side grinding against the camera equipment
07:58the crew don't really like him when you do that sort of thing but uh yeah for sure
08:01Sasha will not want to repeat that mistake
08:03but Valant can see his first Grand Prix win just a few yards ahead of him in the shape of
08:08that orange bike
08:08as uh Sasha whittles his way through the ruts there
08:11and uh yeah Valant EMX 250 winner here in 2024 didn't get a chance to race
08:16uh on well actually failed to finish both times here uh last year after qualifying fifth on Saturday
08:21so Valant his second German GP is looking a lot better than his first one
08:25and he's got that Grand Prix win right in front of him if he can find a way past Coonan
08:29or pressure him into a mistake
08:31the gap between these two sort of back and forth at the moment now out to two and a half
08:35seconds as we
08:36hit the end of sector three and start sector four see Coonan coming back towards in the opposite
08:40direction in white on his red ball KTM and he tips over he lands in a hole he goes down
08:45he picks
08:46himself up Valant takes over the lead and he may lose second to Langefelder and he does Langefelder gets
08:52around the outside is that the stroke of luck that the German needs either way he's found his way past
08:57Coonan looking to fight back immediately Langefelder just don't want to get involved does he i thought
09:02he was going to try and ride defensive and the question was can Langefelder do anything about
09:07him and the answer right now is no he's allowed Coonan to go back by and keep him in that
09:11third place but
09:12good response from Coonan even though it's his mistake in the first place here's how he did it comes down
09:17the
09:17monster energy hill and as he gets into here just lands heavily there and it's almost like he hit
09:22neutral when he landed and then he tipped over had no go at the rear wheel Valant went by Langefelder
09:29around the outside here but that move into second position for the German did not last long at all
09:34because Sasha Coonan responded back immediately and goes back after Valant for the lead and remember
09:41this will determine the outcome of the Grand Prix as well first and second in race one Coonan and
09:45at the moment they sit in reverse positions Valant Coonan and as a result they will tie on points and
09:51it
09:51would be Valant who stands on the top step here in Germany if it finishes like this big moment
09:57crucially absolutely massive there for Sasha Coonan you almost heard the German fans reach for the
10:02pull chains on their chainsaws as they wanted to fire them back up to cheer their champion on but
10:07Coonan silenced that as he nearly goes over there and yeah snap back into second place now four and a
10:14bit
10:14seconds behind Valant is he going to be able to reel in the Frenchman is Valant going to be able
10:18to hold
10:19on for his first Grand Prix win will his nerves hold in this unique situation in this cauldron of
10:24atmosphere here at the Tarkas it's hard to imagine that in all the years that Simon Langenfelder has
10:28been in MX2 he's only ever found his way onto the podium just one time he's not going to be
10:32on the
10:32podium again here today fifth overall as it stands right now although he's only one point off of that
10:37the podium is Yanis Rachelis on 34 Camden McClellan on 34 Langenfelder on 33 tied with Perez
10:45so we could see a potential first GP win for Mattis Valant and the first visit to the podium for
10:51Yanis
10:51Rachelis in his rookie season that would be massive wouldn't it as Everts goes to work on
10:56Kai Carsmakers moves him aside and moves into eighth on his Nastan Huswana
11:02good sense of urgency that from the 26 after another poor start here today yeah and the one
11:07that's likely to move is McClellan just half a second behind Lata as they could pass the most
11:11recent checkpoint and Lata's only a second and a half behind Regidus so McClellan has got the podium
11:15right in front of him those two riders that he could pass if he gets sacked in gear if you
11:19think
11:19it's looking a little bit dark out there it's because it is we've got some massive grey clouds looming
11:23large on the horizon in anticipation of a deluge around about five o'clock-ish so this is just a
11:29prequel
11:29you know just a little bit of a spitting session right now need a smart race that's what he's
11:35being told there Sasha Coonan could have done with that board about two laps ago before he made that
11:41mistake but is what it is he will get his head down and he will continue to push on sector
11:47one he was
11:48two tenths quicker than Valant that time around and that was just into the right hander a moment ago
11:52we'll get sector two dropping into turn 15 the left-handed just across to his left
11:59and as we drop into there keep an eye on that gap because like i say 4.4 seconds not
12:04through here
12:05but the next downhill 29.9 29.7 Valant Coonan 31.5 31.4 another 10th pull back 4.3
12:16so he is going to work
12:17on the Frenchman ahead of him here's the Belgian here Langenfelder only two and a half seconds behind
12:23Sasha Coonan just wonder how sick he is you know Seymour Langenfelder there's nothing worse when you're
12:27riding you know with the cold with kind of has he got a temperature has he got fever is it
12:32just a
12:33runny nose either way he's feeling under the weather and the harder you push the more it takes out of
12:37you and so i wonder whether he's trying to just have a little bit something in reserve but you can't
12:42afford your main rival to escape like this so i would say that Seymour Langenfelder is giving all he can
12:47at
12:48the moment yeah you've got to think that he hasn't got an awful lot to give it's very rare for
12:52anybody
12:53to let through a title challenger like that he certainly wasn't moving over for kind of wolf for
12:57that easy last year in his battle there for the for the 2025 title so yeah it's got to be
13:02a case of
13:02like i'm not going to get a hassle from coonan i'm just going to carry on do what i can
13:06to get maximum
13:07points out of what must be a rough weekend then get the lens tips there and other other flu remedies
13:11are available and trying to be right for that yeah yeah this race this in fifth still under pressure
13:15from camden mcclellan the monster energy yamaha and triumph racing mx2 factory team rider
13:20crossing the line now six laps in the books but it's the latvian who's still there in that fifth
13:25position but camden mcclellan just starting to look a little impatient now as he tries in vain
13:31in desperation to find a line that will make the difference to make that pass and it's mcclellan
13:36who's on the podium at the moment third overall having found his way up to uh the latvian here
13:44because what's that racing is 34 points mcclellan on 35 points mcclellan iron up back to back podiums so
13:51mcclellan has passed latter the last couple of laps then we didn't see that one on the camera but yeah
13:55he has got past the italian to move into that podium position at the moment
13:59got his head down hasn't he camden second rider in shot through that left just hitting the liquid molly
14:04jump now but janice raceless being very very stubborn once again in his rookie season
14:11keeping some of the main players at bay for now
14:15no more evidence of that of course than race two one week ago when he led for just about three
14:21laps to go
14:24at the french grand prix right valand kuhn at langenfelder ferez they first fall this is the battle for
14:30fifth with the 772 of janus raceless and camden mcclellan latter about two and a half seconds further back
14:35then we've got ebbets and cars makers then maxim grow julius mikula is next in 11th place then
14:41zanots carlos raceless who was 21st 22nd when we looked up towards the end of the opening lap he's
14:47now in the 13th about 10 seconds 11 seconds down on the hungarian zanots valentin keys who got points in
14:54race one 18th he's iron up points again in race two 15th at the moment ben musto is 16 rossi
15:00kunderson
15:01and kalemo your top 20
15:07no one outside of the top 20 that shouldn't be in terms of championship contenders and riders sort
15:12of like top 10 top 15 need better sector two and three that is a message for janus raceless
15:21yeah he's not wrong that's a mechanic with that signboard those are the spots that he's been
15:25losing out there and even a couple of tenths quicker in the other sectors so for sure yeah
15:29that's the the problem for janice at the moment mcclennan i feel has just got his teeth into this
15:34he needs to uh grind forward he's still trying to recover uh from the points lost in switzerland
15:38to try and get back up to the top ends of the championship he's only two points behind everest as
15:42it stands and that would be equal if he can get his way past the latian slight mistake there by
15:46camden mcclennan as he got over the dragon's back he wanted to turn right he kind of just went a
15:51little bit more straight on missed the inside one or two ruts had to settle for something a little
15:55bit further over to the left hand side before the front end came down and allowed him to sort of
16:00negotiate that turn gives a little bit of respite to the 772 not much but just enough
16:08but janice raceless here just 17 years old was doing a physics exam on wednesday before the french
16:14grand prix had to fly home to latvia for that doing all of his study at their place in in
16:21holland where
16:21he and his brother both lived with the team but you can see how quickly the track has just started
16:30to
16:30turn over and deteriorate so no matter how much work the track crew has done over time soft conditions
16:36like this it's always going to go back to sort of where it was although a little bit more open
16:41with the
16:41lines of course at the same time first turn is obviously very very wide so they can pretty much
16:49negotiate and move around there as much as they want to but it's going to be this has been a
16:53good
16:54response from janice raceless sectors two and three he's definitely tidied them up because mcclellan not
16:58as closely was a lap ago yeah absolutely just looking up to see how far he's got eight seconds between
17:02himself and far as so these two kind of uh intent on scrapping of a fifth unless something goes wrong
17:08further on up the circuit but uh just moving out of the way i think is it no
17:15nine three eight yeah i believe so yeah yeah yeah definitely and everett's also closing in on
17:22latter now within a second of the italian so uh latter seventh place is under threat from the belgium
17:31just in the opposite direction we saw that battle there with latter and everts so you've got these
17:38two here fighting over fifth and sixth and then behind them latter and everts just about a second
17:42apart so really two battles going on here here's everts coming towards us now and latter so the honda
17:51hrc patronus rider knows what it's like to win a race around here of course with the quality win a
17:55year ago
17:56hasn't had the same kind of feeling but he said in his pre-grid interview
18:00starts weren't helping him today he just needed those better starts but he does feel he's got the
18:05pace to win a race whether that's around here or at some point during the season well at the moment
18:09he's just stumbling his way through that left-hander everts getting a little bit closer
18:15and we've had a change oh look how close it is between valen and kunan
18:21yeah let's see he's got the pace that so everyone else doing about the same sort of lap times 201
18:25so
18:25he's not wrong from that side however kunan there just made me jump because he's gone to under two
18:29minutes 159.8 so kunan is now chasing down balan two and a half seconds uh sorry paul i made
18:35you jump
18:35because i was pointed to the screen with her to see i thought the lead had changed but
18:38no no no two up one two 159.8 yeah fastest out of the two riders he's got that gap
18:43down from four
18:43points something to 2.4 in the last couple of laps so kunan as we said before intent on coming
18:49away from here with a double race win and to put further ground between himself and langenfeld
18:53remember the gap was six points coming into this race it would be eight as you put the flag out
18:57now
19:00but if you can grab that 25 points a win and an extra three points over the german of course
19:07he'll
19:07leave here going to latvia feeling very very pleased with himself hits the line now 2.3 seconds and
19:16actually valand responding that time not by much two minutes point eight two oh one zero nine
19:21first and second respectively lagenfeld is still no reply at the moment even though he put a best time
19:28in sector one back mark is now really going to start to cause problems for the riders here in the
19:35second
19:35half of this race just under 11 minutes to go a bit unsure there sasha kunin through that left turn
19:43as he finds himself on to the rear wheel of the 321 there of travisini
19:54and the uh the team there giving sasha the same note they gave his brother in the mxgp race giving
19:58him the enduro sign so uh yeah from that side the team being consistent with the kunan brothers there's
20:03obviously a bit of a code for taking careful yeah certainly still launching down there very well
20:06though paul he's uh he's putting it together and uh yeah i think just that that instance there with
20:11the back marker also just maybe just taking his time making sure he doesn't make a city mistake be
20:15nice to see a replay actually of that right hand turn a moment ago where sasha kunin just jumped up
20:19into that right hander you see they just lift their leg because obviously it's so deep you can't sit down
20:24in that rut so you're up on the pegs all your weight on the left peg and then as you
20:28get mid-turn they're just
20:30lifting their leg just to avoid catching the bank and then just staying perfectly balanced through
20:35that right hander and then getting out there sitting back down again to charge back down the hill
20:44just the little differences that go a long way not the only rider doing that by the way i will
20:50point
20:50out musto's lost a couple of positions as krug and gunderson go through he's now down in 19th position
20:57sasha kunin losing ground this lap to matis valand he's gone out to 2.6 at the last split which
21:04was
21:04going through turn two valand is dealing with traffic here though tell you what someone's uh
21:09been off the back end haven't they 290 uh volker
21:17and that gap 2.1 so it does cost valand about a half a second down past pit lane into
21:23that right
21:24hander there's only one or two lines there and you can't really afford to go offline
21:27at that point of the racetrack kunin we'll see that he'll see that he's made some gains
21:33so too will gian perez perez a little bit wild and woolley coming out of that right hand turn
21:40as he goes after simon langenfelder got the german right in his line of sight watch this here just gets
21:47on the back end just lit up and then just pitched him the other way into those deep ruts good
21:52save from
21:52the spaniard that's like a sign of the varying degrees of grip isn't it the back end slid out
21:57and then grips kicking him all over the place so yeah the the the texture of the surface under
22:02their wheels is changing yard by yard that is one second hand ktm
22:09yeah one careful owner rear fender for sale anyone who needs after the german grand prix
22:16can you sign it mister both picking the bikes up early out of that rut there i noticed uh sasha
22:22very
22:22good in this uh corner like before and langerfeld a very similar sort of style drops it in to drive
22:27it
22:27up through it in this uh in this double here and this corner paul this seems to be a little
22:31bit quicker
22:32for the 250s going wider now more of them taking this outside line to keep the run going yeah because
22:36it's just more open you know but when you've got them inside just at the bottom there in that inside
22:40section what you've got is is we're going to see uh captain mcclellan hit that line any moment now if
22:45you go to the inside look at how deep the ruts are to the inside here just to his right
22:50that middle
22:51line is okay but that outside is just a little bit more free doesn't grab you so much valerio latter
22:56just behind mcclellan there in seventh everts behind him and then cars makers and grow so we've got
23:02four riders here all of a sudden led out by janice race lists with captain mcclellan there the 18 of
23:08latter just getting a little bit leggy through there as he tries to close in on the triumph
23:16showed you how technical that corner was mcclellan made a mistake coming in
23:19latter made a mistake coming out there's little knuckles and uh ruts just forming all over the
23:23track lap by that changing all the time right mcclellan oh i'll tell you what gotta be careful not to
23:30lose
23:30his spokes there in the front wheel that kind of contact has raceless leaning over the right foot peg there
23:36just very very open and free hopefully no damage done
23:43still up on two wheels anyway mcclellan but he was just showing a wheel to janice race let's just
23:48let him know he was there in case he didn't know already yeah i am still here buddy he can't
23:54check me
23:54off that easily camden looking forward to the sands of latvia to come next week of course the track
24:00where sasha kunan has won the last two grand prix so sasha trying to close down valent at the moment
24:052.3 back but he knows that latvia is ahead of him another chance for him to pull away and
24:10deal more of a blow to the to his championship rival uh langenfeld in of that meeting max and grow
24:16losing two positions he's now down to 12th as julius meek and noz zanott go by on the osichka ktm
24:22and of
24:22course the venrui ktm spent quite a bit of time with uh zanott haven't we over the last couple of
24:28weekends as a as a crew as a team getting his intel about his season so far yeah very much
24:36thinking
24:37that uh mx2 was going to be relatively straightforward he comes straight from the mx250 where he was
24:42scrapping with this rider here janice resulis and uh you know they were fair competition for each
24:46other there's a bit of argy bargy in finland for example um but yeah no he's had small injuries
24:50over the winter so he isn't quite a hundred percent and he's certainly not where he expected to be in
24:55mx2 but he's digging in he's improving week by week 12th in france last week was his best gp result
24:59yet
25:00so he can still move forward yeah zanott's sort of uh like say the last sort of four races he
25:06was
25:0614th and 16th in italy trentino then he had that five-week break bounces back with the 13th and the
25:1012th
25:11and then in race one uh no zanott's picking up a 14th there and all of a sudden in this
25:17one a 10th place
25:18saw michele is down julius michele was right there wasn't he in 12th position or maybe even 11th
25:25position because zanott's has gone by him now that he's on the deck but unfortunately that from julius
25:31michele the number 20 on that osichka ktm and this is how he did on the monster energy step down
25:39does he
25:39get cross-rutted here yes he does and then gets slammed into the ground that's why it was a little
25:44bit secondhand there zanott's going by in the process he's clutching his leg that's worrying
25:49for mikula because he has such a good season going and we really hope the czech rider can recover from
25:54that it doesn't look good at the moment but uh we keep our fingers crossed
25:59that was on lap 12 wasn't it we're now into lap 13. the gap again just concertina between these two
26:11right this is kunan he's in second
26:21so he's apologizing there so possibly for jumping on wave jellos that's the only thing i can think of
26:27there so is he going to pick up a penalty yeah how much will the apology make the difference with
26:32the
26:33stewards is the question and we look for that one in our screens we will tell you of course as
26:37soon as
26:38it uh if anything fires up on our screens there but uh sasha did apologize and rolled off the throttles
26:43if to lose any advantage you might have gained but yeah you don't know if that's going to count for
26:47anything so our uh tv director picking up on that straight away so we will watch with baited breath
26:55then because uh if there is a penalty of course that will play into the advantage of simon langenfelder
26:59even if it's just a couple of positions penalty
27:03so we will see because langenfelder in third and obviously he's trailing at the moment by about
27:07eight points in the championship chase to sasha kunan who is the new championship leader as it
27:12stands right now jonas raceless having a little bit of side eye there as he comes under pressure
27:17from the number eight of camden mcclellan almost tipped over there on the crest but the monster is
27:22yamaha now massively under pressure from triumph racing mx2 factories uh camden mcclellan here in
27:27the black and the number eight down past pit lane for the 13th time working the latvian now left and
27:37right making him think outside of the box at every opportunity he looks left mcclellan pops up on the
27:43right he doesn't know whether it's coming or going does he at the moment raceless and now we're seeing the
27:48desperation from mcclellan just looking for new lines there wasn't a line there he made a new
27:53line completely by himself and we saw without giving anything away from mxgp in the corner that
27:58we've just come through that right-hander how that can have undesired uh undesired consequences
28:03you know you try to rush and make that pass those ruts can be unforgiving
28:09yeah as we saw from michael thank god michael is still the side of the track helmet off but uh
28:13still
28:13been looked at mcclellan still attacking a residence here he really does want this position of course
28:19he knows that it could get him some serious moves but of course yeah there was also the possibility
28:23if cunan does get penalized cam could go up another position uh in the overall rankings for the gp
28:29yeah uh camden mcclellan third overall at the moment sasha cunan on 47 with that but in terms of
28:37the championship chase that's what camden mcclellan is looking at isn't it those two extra points
28:42to put him tied with evertson fourth overall and and paul he probably doesn't know that he's even
28:48in a podium position right now he knows registered has had a good first one he was third in race
28:52one
28:52himself he might think he needs this for the podium and it's just going to attack it and the team
28:56aren't going to tell him any any different exactly goes to the inside raceless leaves the door open and
29:01then brakes check brake checks him coming through that turn inspired riding there from the latvian who
29:08realized you know what you're not going to read me like a book fella watch this he knows it's coming
29:12he's like i'll hit the brakes right here and it was mcclellan that misread the situation
29:19caught him off balance that one in the notepad of mcclellan though
29:25and it's cost him some time just broke his rhythm because valerio latter all of a sudden
29:29penalty for sasha cunan has just come up on our timing screen
29:35not respecting the waved yellows
29:41and that
29:46yeah that could be amazingly costly for cunan i think it's at least two positions isn't it paul
29:52the uh uh the penalty for that we'll find out what's going on with sasha as soon as we can
29:57but uh
29:57yeah this is championship so on the line this is why wave jellos he jumped he shook his head as
30:03soon as he took off put up the hand and as you say the fim in 2026 got their own
30:09control center
30:10they've got uh fim members in there watching everything and they were quick to uh react on
30:16that decision not leaving it till the end so it's going to be a penalty for not respecting the wave
30:21jello
30:21i'm not sure what that penalty is at the moment we wait for the penalty to come up just says
30:25penalty
30:26so is that positions is that time at least it's not coming up as uh disqualified but it might just
30:32be positions but we do not know at this stage how many positions that is going to be because it's
30:37a
30:37sliding scale isn't it you know first offense it's this second offense if it's persistent then the the
30:43uh it's okay a point penalty on screen one point penalty right so that is championship indications
30:52then it doesn't uh keep him out of the overall i was going to say there are two beneficiaries of
30:56this
30:56both langenfelder and valand but yeah valand still has to hold off coonan to collect the overall win of
31:02the gp but a point for sasha coonan in the grand scheme of things that uh will put him for
31:09yeah i mean
31:09looking at the above six ahead and he's now looking at uh three ahead of a langenfelder so
31:14yeah it's uh difficult to see what's going on i'm not sure if it's a one point penalty or is
31:18it just
31:18a points penalty we'll get more information as soon as we can to you but uh yeah for sure
31:24it's a five point penalty for the championship we're hearing so sasha coon and then five points
31:29penalty for the championship that's why it's showing on our screens podium does not change so
31:33langenfelder well he's actually holding in the belgian now so there it is yeah
31:36uh yeah i was just uh in communication there with our uh tv director as you were re re sort
31:44of uh
31:45giving us up to date there so coonan will be on 320 langenfelder will be on 317. that's how things
31:51are
31:51at the moment so uh sasha coonan second in the race he's going to get that penalty langenfelder is
31:58going to be third that's the gap between second and third in the race about 2.8 seconds so with
32:03two
32:03laps to go because we are into the final two laps simon langenfelder thinking you know what let's
32:09just give it one last push here if i can because he can't afford to hang around anyway because gian
32:14ferez is right there looking to move into the top three as well so on one hand you pick up
32:19points
32:19because of a penalty to your main rival who's now the new championship leader and then on the other you
32:24switch off for one moment any points that you gain guess what ferez will just say well you don't want
32:28those points i'll pick those points up stick them in my pocket instead see you later see you in latvia
32:32a week from now just to break that down for you there so sasha couldn't with six points ahead
32:36going into this race at the moment he's two he's a place ahead of langenfelder which would gain him
32:40two points that would put him eight up but he's getting a five ball penalty so on our screens he
32:44is
32:44only three ahead in the series that's where it stands exactly as sasha nearly loses another couple of
32:48points on the outside of that corner absolutely thrashing it couldn't have put it better better than
32:54myself clear as mud that thanks ben hope you caught up at home next week with ben rumbold
33:05anyway not allowed to joking it's all about the maths it's all about the numbers numbers with championship
33:11yeah absolutely it is anyway we're getting ready to enter our final lap here valand
33:20and uh guillem faris all over the back wheel of langenfelder what was it you called him in the
33:24studio show yesterday something about coffee um no no no basically it's just uh he's got they've got
33:30this logo haven't they hello my son and it's uh cafe de colombia it's because he looks like him but
33:34this is all it's also is saying hello my son well hello my son but uh anyway he's not locking
33:39about here
33:40he means business does guillem faris in and amongst traffic here's langenfelder down here there's
33:47kunan just on the face of the jump valand a little bit further up track 2.2 seconds he's looking
33:51at
33:51going 2-1 for his first ever grand prix victory here's matis valand he's already been on the podium
33:56twice this year back to back trentino round five round six a week ago in france both of those were
34:01third
34:01overall got on the podium last year as well on one occasion but here he is now eyeing up that
34:07first
34:07grand prix victory in germany and germany is one of those where we've had a lot of single winners in
34:14since 1971 that make up those 55 winners he will be the 56 winner if he stays where he is
34:20yeah for
34:20sure like in mxgp there's two multi winners here for uh four times each for geyser and herlings but
34:25everyone else in our uh list of about eight gp winners just the one to the name like you say
34:29paul here's where simon langenfelder got stuck behind on that rider into the uh into the rut there and faris
34:35nearly nailed him for it but uh thankfully for simon he has held on to third at the moment for
34:39now
34:41mcclellan is going to be on the podium third rachel is going to be fourth overall just off the podium
34:46again fourth overall for him although that will be his best result of the season he's had three fifth
34:50place finishes so far sasha looks like he's hauling in valand just two seconds short wow he's getting
34:57close between these two valand is that are the nerves getting to him it's the final lap
35:00three corners to go and basically as you come out of here turn two can't afford to switch off
35:06valand he will get the hurry up as he goes past pit lane do not relax because kunan will pounce
35:11even if it ends in scrap metal in this corner here is he will even find his way down the
35:16inside he
35:16will certainly try it there he is a flash of orange mudguard one corner to go matis valand heart in
35:22his mouth pumping right through the back of his chest and here he is uphill to the finish line valand
35:28wins the
35:28race he wins his first grand prix and he does it here in germany amazing results sasha kunan was right
35:37there ready to pounce if he slipped up ready to pounce if the door was even half open in any
35:44of those
35:45final corners but matis valand will leave here and uh simon langer folder he finishes third in the race
35:54he salutes the fans there will not finish on the podium it will be fifth overall for him and he
35:59will
35:59lose that championship leaders red plate lightning striking twice for the red bull ktm rider he lost
36:05the red plate here last year to adamo loses the red plate here this year to sasha kunan the gap
36:11three
36:12points now as we head to round eight latvia one week from now and it's sasha kunan who holds a
36:18three
36:18point advantage as the new championship leader fantastic a first grand prix win for the uh kawasaki
36:26mx2 team under the uh since it's come under the uh management of anti-pirinan who uh also controls
36:31of course the mxgp squad with raiding champion ronald
