00:02Vamos lá.
00:02Está em volta.
00:08Julien Bomair leads em in, mas ele vai mais alto, ainda bem quanto está possível.
00:13Michael Mozeman com ele com ele.
00:17A start by Julien.
00:19A start de primeira start, então a melhor start for him.
00:21We saw him today on top de tempo, com speed, o seu 3D- Burton Qualifier.
00:26A start for him and is that Michael Moseman?
00:29Yeah.
00:29Good to see him up. He was on the far inside gate, close to it, so was able to sneak
00:33around and you got the second moto, uh, first moto, finished second place. Seth Handmaker up there in a good
00:38position. I don't see Levi Kitchen.
00:40No, that's who I'm looking for. That has been the problem with Kitchen the last year and a half has
00:45been the starts. Wasn't a great one in Moto 1, but not bad enough to stop him. Julian Volmeyer off
00:51to the race is already pulling away from Mozart and Handmaker.
00:54Yeah, this is pretty easy. When you have that speed, you come out, get the whole shot. You're young. You
00:58just go for it. Then you realize, man, I'm pulling away from these guys, but it's a long race. Want
01:04to make sure you have enough for the tank and Julian always has had the speed as he's starting to
01:09pull away.
01:09Well, he led seven laps in the second moto at this race a year ago, Volmeyer, but this is a
01:15little different because he's coming back from a devastating back injury. Looking good as Handmaker attacks Moseman uphill. Right hand
01:22turn coming. Can he get it?
01:24Yeah, great. I thought he almost had that pass. He did now. Yeah, yeah. Just a racing incident. You know,
01:31Mike was trying to close that door, but Seth was moving forward. I thought he had passed earlier, but tough
01:36break for Michael. Looks like he's got a couple more guys. Is that Levi? Yeah, it is Levi. Good eyes
01:42there, James. So that's the Moto 1 winner and the bike. He goes down a second time. So I'm going
01:48to say bye-bye to the overall win for the 47.
01:51Oh, man. Something's wrong. Yeah, it looked like his bike spun out his hand the way he was looking, but
01:55yeah, this is it. I mean, if that bike runs, this is that championship. You've got to get up and
02:01move forward.
02:02That front brake issues, baby. You see the handguard is pointing almost straight down on the right side. Oh, disaster.
02:11And you're right. It quickly shifted from, you're right. Forget the overall. You've got to salvage points. You've got to
02:15get into the top 20 to score any points at all as Beaumair continues.
02:20Yeah, just a great opportunity for God's like Julian had a tough first moto, you know, finished it, but it
02:27wasn't where he wanted to be, but a great opportunity for the guy in second place, Seth finishing solid. Now
02:34you got Julian. You probably feel like you've been racing. He might come back towards you, but your biggest competition
02:39and your teammate was on the ground. Got to make it work.
02:43Well, how about this story? What a comeback. Julian Beaumair broke his back early in the SMX playoffs last year
02:51and was told first doctor he went to, you're not even going to touch a motorcycle for 12 months, which
02:56would have been September of this year.
02:58Well, here we are in May and he's not just on a motorcycle. He is leading the best in the
03:04business out of track. He's logged a lot of laps on, but he pushes back against that. He believes he
03:10can get it done anywhere right now. He's getting it done for sure here.
03:13Yeah, he's getting it done. And the biggest thing, he's always had speed. It's just really the injuries. And I
03:18said earlier when that doctor said that, he probably said, have a nice day because we believe we can overcome
03:24anything.
03:24And with Julian, like, you just stay out here. You know, he's good at this track and you never know
03:30what might happen if you roll this thing off. Great start, though.
03:34Tated Dundee is third. That's the rookie who is very strong in Moto one. Now, the overall results are probably
03:41going to get quite jumbled from here. And some of the good contenders that we saw Moto one who have
03:47bad starts now begin to move forward.
03:49But at least at the moment, you're looking at a hammocker, bull mayor, Dundee podium. Yeah, that door is open.
03:56They've all kicked it in and look how close it is. Um, you know, and these rookies right here, they'll
04:01only get better. First Moto, you know, solid finish now in that top three and no real pressure behind him.
04:08So if he can just keep it going, this race will open up. You got to think about fitness that
04:12comes in.
04:13So far, it's pretty good. And he was running well, I think right around that fifth place spot. And now
04:20he is crashed.
04:21Yeah, it looks like it's in the same section that Eli went down. It's a high speed section and he's
04:26off the racetrack. So either got a little bit of help or he went in too hot. Nonetheless, tough break
04:32for Daxton.
04:33Here's Dundee, originally of Iowa, then moved to Texas. And they got picked up by this Monster of Starry Omaha
04:41team. That means you head to the Cairo, Georgia, Tallahassee, Florida state line area. And he's been doing the work.
04:49And it's paying off right now running third. And a lot of hype about his speed.
04:55But we've seen so many young riders who have the speed and aren't translating into the racetrack. So far, so
05:00good today for Dundee. Yeah. And all it takes is a race like this. Alls can finish this. He does
05:06have the speed. I mean, he's riding with Hayden Deegan, Justin Cooper, Jordan, a week. So he knows that speed.
05:12And I think with these young guys, just that confidence to believe just one finish, it could propel you to
05:18a whole different level. So I decided to see if he can hold this thing off. Well, you mentioned that
05:23theory in the fourth
05:2350 class where you thought how Degan gets his work as you started. It's really going to be a fork
05:28in the road. Same theory here. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I feel like this whole 250 classes are reset for
05:34all these guys. And unfortunately for Levi, it's almost a reset of the past. You know, you're like, man, I'm
05:40so fast. And then he's going to walk away unless the miracle happens with a day that he should have
05:45won overall, but he ends up off the podium and not even close. So, but back to Kate, Julian, even
05:52now, Seth and Baker, this could
05:53spot him. Spot on to a career and really set them up. Just one race. Yep. And for Bomair, there's
06:02certainly no doubts about what he could do coming back from injury. His career best is a fourth. He leaves
06:07the moto right now. Here's Dundee in third. You see with the drug count. And Hamaker up ahead would be
06:13the overall winner with two two scores. But only six and a half minutes of this race have taken place
06:21yet.
06:24Yeah, it looks really good. Really clean. Try to get another view here of that crash. Most of it battling
06:35with hammock or hammock or got aggressive. Yeah, I mean, I thought Seth had the pass and then he gets
06:41in there. Michael just goes in there. That berm kind of gets in and that line that Seth was all
06:46just funnels into Michael just a racing incident. But unfortunately, Michael, it's a bad situation to be in.
06:53It's another spot right here. And the big moment of this race is going to watch Levi Kitchen go in
06:59here, runs in the backup. You see Joe Shimoda. But for Levi, it is just seems like that's the way
07:05last year it was. Unfortunately for him, that second moto starts the same way. But he's got to keep fighting.
07:10It's kind of funny how that worked. It wasn't hitting most of it. He came together with Cody's shot. But
07:15maybe that was because shot was trying to stop to not hit most of it. Then the second time when
07:22kitchen went down was due to most of it.
07:23Yeah, it's really easy to happen. Yeah, it's really easy to happen, especially these opening laps. They're in a pack.
07:28So you imagine yourself in a crowd of people and somebody in the middle of them just stopped. You run
07:32in the back of it. Easy to happen. And, you know, whatever the case was, it's really costly for Levi.
07:38But you see that every race, a pile up on those opening laps.
07:43So Dundee rolling right now in third. JT.
07:46Yeah, this has to feel good for Caden Dundee because Weege, remember, in Supercross, yes, he was the rookie of
07:52the year. But ironically, let's say he got pulled for poor performance. It wasn't actually going the way that Monster
07:59Yamaha Star Racing wanted it to. And they said, hey, let's take some time. Let's go get ready for pro
08:04motocross and let's come out swinging there.
08:06And Weege, it's hard to argue with his qualifying performance and the way he's riding right now that he's not
08:11coming out swinging at the opener.
08:13Well, he is. And JT, a lot of people are talking about what they saw, even with his social media
08:18clips and how fast he was going in the preseason. But you never know if that's going to mean anything
08:23come race day.
08:24But he's making it reality now because he could be on the overall podium. He's right in the fight for
08:30it. But the rider to watch is actually Davies. Cole Davies has climbed to fifth.
08:34And that would be enough to get him to second overall. And for Davies, definitely wants to win this title.
08:42He's showing solid points on maybe not his best day. Davies just put it together right now.
08:48That's exactly what he did during the Supercross. And you got to know, like, he didn't race a lot last
08:52year. So he's only going to get better. And if he brings that confidence from Supercross, it might end well
08:58because he ended up winning a championship pretty easily over there.
09:01Yeah, remember Davies didn't start the Supercross season on fire. It took him to round three to get a win.
09:06Here he is at the 37 wheel.
09:09And I think a lot of the reason that people didn't really kind of have him on their bingo card
09:13here for the outdoor season is because last year, well, it wasn't good.
09:17But at the same time, he didn't really get a chance to show it. He only was there for a
09:21few rounds at the end. He was coming off injury.
09:24He talked to me yesterday and said how he wasn't prepared because of that injury, wasn't able to set the
09:29bike up. So they were behind on that.
09:31And just, you know, he kind of scrambled his way through those last rounds there. And I think a lot
09:35of people think, oh, well, in that case, he's the Supercross guy.
09:38But he reminded me, too, he's from New Zealand. And he was on motocross just like everybody else kind of
09:44growing up.
09:45And he said, really, it was only when Ben Towney sort of took him under his wing and started teaching
09:49him the Supercross skills there.
09:51But that's where he switched over to. There are very few Supercross tracks in New Zealand where he lives.
09:56And so he said, I grew up a motocross kid. So I think it's kind of narrative that that's not
10:01where his skill set is.
10:02He's out to prove all of those people wrong. And he's doing a great job here, especially if he hangs
10:07on to this overall second.
10:08Yeah, I agree. And for the people that don't have him on his bingo card, I'm sorry to say, you
10:13probably should stop playing bingo because this guy is that good.
10:16I mean, you can see it. And really, it just comes out. These guys get on the track. They get
10:21that momentum. This is what you're going to get.
10:24And he's trying to challenge Ryder D. Francisco for fourth. There's Francisco about white Rockstar Energy Husqvarna.
10:31Ryder from California. Definitely rode this track a lot. Throwing up from Bakersfield.
10:36And he's held down fourth into the running order of that team.
10:40You got Cochran, who had a tough first moto back in this one in 18.
10:44And then Benek, who had a good moto going and crashed, officially credited right now in 38.
10:50So that's the Rockstar Husky team, which has announced they will not be racing next year as a full factory
10:56outfit.
10:57Now, Husky is looking to perhaps supply some of the factory motorcycle components to another team
11:03if there are some takers out there that want to lease the components.
11:07But the rumor is that some of these young 250 riders will just move over to a KTM 250 factory
11:13team.
11:13So I think that DeFrancisco and Benek are going to be okay and have a home next year.
11:18There are some other riders, like I believe Cochran, who are going to be looking for work.
11:22And it's all about this season to show everybody what they are capable of.
11:27Ryder D riding pretty well right now in fourth.
11:30Yeah, Ryder D had a breakout Supercross season, finished third.
11:33But, yeah, it's a hard spot to be in with all these young guys and even the rookies.
11:38That, like, there are so many good guys coming up in the amateur program that hold next and out here
11:43that if you're not performing, it's sad to say you'll be looking for a ride no matter how talented you
11:48think you are
11:49because the next guy is just as talented and it just continues to go.
11:53Yes, that next program you mentioned where the amateurs get a chance to race on race day
11:57in their own race on the same track.
12:00You're not seeing nearly as many ups and downs.
12:03Almost everybody is either good or great of these young riders coming through.
12:07We don't really see the complete busts, as they would say, in other sports.
12:11And that just means it's more crowded at the top.
12:15No, absolutely. Absolutely.
12:16You'll have the incidents like we all have, but what just Levi, you know, up and downs.
12:21But there's no bust, JT.
12:25James, watching Ryder D Francisco going on.
12:27I had an opportunity to grab Max Anstey up here in the Mechanics Tower.
12:30Max, not the opening round you wanted.
12:32We saw that huge crash on race day live this morning.
12:36pulled off there early in Moto 1.
12:38Was that just due to the soreness you were experiencing in that Moto?
12:41Yeah, I mean, of course, it could have been way worse.
12:44I'm still, I'm not broken, but, yeah, I'm pretty sore and beat up.
12:48I couldn't really breathe when I was riding.
12:51It was the jumbling around.
12:52But, hey, it's what it is.
12:54I'm up here studying, watching.
12:56I'll get some physio done this week.
12:57And I'll be back next week.
12:59The Alpine Star medical crew, honestly, they did a fantastic job with me.
13:02And they were like, look, get some physio done this week.
13:05You're going to be okay.
13:06But, I mean, yeah, it was just, they can't really drain it or get any of the blood out of
13:09it.
13:09It's just my butt is pretty big at the moment.
13:12So, not ideal, but, hey, it could have been worse.
13:16Still, watching my teammates, they're doing well.
13:18Donnie in third and calling in fifth.
13:20The boys are, yeah, cadence up their toe.
13:22These boys are ripping.
13:23So, good to watch.
13:25And hopefully I'll be back out there next week fine.
13:27All right, Drew, it'll be okay.
13:28We'll see you at Hangtown.
13:29Let's put a little bit of perspective on what Max is talking about right here.
13:32He had a crash earlier today in practice.
13:36And when he's talking about he's a little sore, check out to the left of your screen right here.
13:39This is Max Dancy, and it's the instant stop.
13:44So, you want to know how tough these guys are.
13:46He got up, rode off the racetrack, came out, and lined up for the first moto.
13:50And it was a tough day for him, but good to see him happy.
13:54Got another moment.
13:55Yeah.
13:56Looking through traffic a moment ago.
13:59Oh!
14:01And stalled it.
14:03Yeah, that's a tough spot to be at.
14:04We saw Nick Romano do the same thing.
14:07There's a big kicker right there.
14:09So, I'm going to lose too much time.
14:11I know it's costly for him.
14:12All right.
14:13And now, Hamaker has caught Beaumare in a battle for the leech.
14:17Shimoda is 11th after the mistake.
14:19So, a tough one for him after a good first moto.
14:21A tough one for Kitchin, who is just trying to get into the top 20.
14:26He's 21st right now.
14:28So, it could be Hamaker's day, and he's looking to make it a little better.
14:31As the man in the green, number 10, looks for the moto win.
14:34Yeah, he looks good.
14:35He's able to close that gap.
14:36And as I mentioned earlier, he probably figured Julian would get out there.
14:40But because he hasn't been racing that race, especially the second moto opening race,
14:44he might come back towards him.
14:45And Seth is probably like, okay.
14:48So, this is what Levi felt like that first moto.
14:50Has the speed, closing in on the guy.
14:52It looked great.
14:54Halfway through a reminder to stock up a Monster Energy drink at Stater Brothers.
14:59Which way is this going to go?
15:02Hamaker looking for an opening on G2.
15:05Yeah, you saw Seth really charge into that section, and I think he missed his line.
15:09I believe he wanted to get close to him because there was an opportunity to pass another one here.
15:15But Julian did a great job at kind of keeping Seth guessing right there.
15:20But nonetheless, Seth makes that pass.
15:22He's going to close this door, and he's into the league.
15:25He guessed right.
15:26He guessed right.
15:27He guessed right.
15:29Well, how about this?
15:30Hamaker has never won an overall, has never won a moto, and he might get both today, Will.
15:35A great performance regardless, right, Jason?
15:38But especially considering they were talking about a guy who had very little seat time to set up this bike
15:44for pro motocross.
15:45And that was due to the injury that we sort of referenced earlier.
15:48It was a badly torn trapezius.
15:51That's that kind of muscle there in the sort of middle center, sort of upper side of your back of
15:55your shoulder area.
15:56And he said that the rehab that he had to do was basically two weeks long with Doc G, who
16:01we got to speak to earlier there.
16:04He said he was there every single day, Monday to Friday, for two weeks straight, go in there in the
16:10morning, three hours of therapy, go get some lunch, come back for two to three more hours of therapy.
16:15And this is away from home in California, so he couldn't even go home to Florida at this point.
16:19So really committed to getting back here to racing fitness.
16:23But when I said to him, you know, what toll does that take?
16:26He said, didn't really matter, because at the end of the day, I need to come here knowing that I
16:30have done everything that I possibly could.
16:32For Seth right now, guys, it is paying off big time.
16:37You know what, that's a pretty wild story.
16:40But at the same time, anyone who knows Seth, the main thing that people say about him is how gritty
16:45and how tough he is.
16:46So it's almost, in a way, not a surprise that whatever was thrown at him, you don't even notice when
16:51he's out of the racetrack.
16:52No, that's why I was just listening, like, finding this out.
16:55You know, Seth does a great job at keeping the main thing the main thing.
16:58He goes out there and focuses on himself, doesn't let all these distractions, and for most riders, I mean, that
17:03would be a gnarly story and an excuse coming in here.
17:07And a legitimate one, but not Seth.
17:10He comes out here and he's fighting.
17:12I think he also probably knew with Julian coming back from injury that he probably wouldn't fight him that much.
17:18But Seth is here and got his best finish at first moto and might top that, the second one, winning
17:25this thing and winning overall if you hold on.
17:27We just saw Ryder, sorry, as this battle is going on, you got Romare, Dudney, DeFrancisco, and Davies.
17:36Just saw Dax Benick ride off, had a crash early in this moto.
17:39He is done, at least for this race, but he rode off the motorcycle under his own power.
17:44His bottom box, let's see what Davies can do, how far forward can he go.
17:48He's already second overall, but championship points still on the line with each position.
17:53Yeah, you got to give a shout-out to Cade in third place.
17:56These guys have been here for a few laps now.
17:59As much as we talk about the Supercross champion, Cole Davies, he hasn't been able to close the gap on
18:06him.
18:06So, and Ryder D is trying to put that pressure.
18:08So, again, as I said, as these laps goes on, just a little bit of belief in these guys.
18:12You'll get a finish like if Cade can hold on.
18:15You'll get rides like this, and it'll only get better.
18:18Next thing you know, he'll be battling it up there with Seftain, making for the lead.
18:22And that's a good move for Dudley because the Supercross campaign, as JT mentioned, did not go as expected.
18:27Davies makes a mistake.
18:29Yeah, loses front end and buries it.
18:32Luckily, he's got a little bit of time.
18:33Now maybe, I think he was getting to the point where I believe he was faster than Ryder D,
18:37but he was so close, he wasn't able to ride his normal line.
18:40So, we'll see if he has that pace, if he can close back up with about 10 minutes left and
18:45still fight for that podium position.
18:48You can see how the overall podium would turn out on the bottom left of the screen.
18:52It'd be Hamaker, Davies, and Dudley, top three.
18:57Bomara would be fourth overall.
18:59Romano would be fifth.
19:00Romano's best in his career overall is a seventh.
19:03So, still a great race day for the 141, running sixth right now.
19:07We'll see if Davies can reset the teenager out of New Zealand.
19:11We've talked to his dad this morning and really echoing what Will had said in her report.
19:17They are confident that they can do this in motocross just the same as Supercross.
19:22What he said is, really look at the Supercross races where he's really excelled.
19:26The nastier, the more rutted the track is, the better Cole Davies has done.
19:31So, his dad, Wayne, kind of thought this track would be a weakness.
19:34He thinks as we go east, even to Colorado, where that track's pretty rutted, he thinks Cole will get even
19:39better.
19:39Yeah, I mean, he will.
19:41But he was right.
19:43I mean, Cole wasn't as good, to me, in my honest opinion, in some of those nasty spot tracks like
19:49Daytona.
19:49He was really rushing it.
19:50But what he did was go to work.
19:52And we talked about during the Supercross, like his interest speed was really low.
19:56He worked on that.
19:57And as he did, you could see that growth during the Supercross season to where he was untouchable.
20:02Nobody in that field was even close to him.
20:04So, he will get better.
20:05I think it's more about the hard work of Cole Davies rather than just the track conditions.
20:09Okay.
20:09He adapts and doesn't usually make the same mistake over and over.
20:14And he definitely won't stay in the same spot.
20:16He's moving forward.
20:19Yeah, I think he's shown enough here to everyone realize, all right, he's going to be in it in motocross
20:24just like he is in Supercross.
20:26And what's wild about this right now is that it would be the first overall podium for all three riders,
20:33Hamaker, Davies, and Dundee.
20:36And to get back to what I was saying about Dundee, you mentioned how fleeting that confidence could be after
20:41those tough Supercross races.
20:43And all be gone, Dundee can hold on for a podium.
20:47Yeah, it will be.
20:48You know, it's maybe not like the pro circuit where you solidify a ride because, you know, Bobby has a
20:53lot of guys up there looking for that opportunity.
20:54But for him, you know, I believe it's a lot.
20:58You see just these little gains as Cole makes another mistake.
21:02It doesn't take much because these guys are so close to where if he finishes this thing off, don't be
21:08surprised a week or two that we're talking about Kate Duggan winning his first ever race.
21:12That's how good and close these guys are.
21:14They just got to believe.
21:16And this moto might be that step towards that.
21:20Amazing how quickly things can flip in this game.
21:23When you start talking confidence and momentum, Davies mechanic likes what he sees.
21:28Third in the moto.
21:29Second overall, Seth Hamaker trying to bring his first win in pro motocross home.
21:34And by the way, as you watch this battle, another one of the young riders on Monster Yamaha Star Racing,
21:40Caden Meneer,
21:41battling with the 43 of Lux Turner, who's been great today on the Toyota Redlands Bar-X Yamaha.
21:47By the way, I just want to add that Hamaker is the only non-Yamaha rider to win this year.
21:51He won Daytona.
21:53Yamaha won every other Supercross.
21:54Now he's looking to win a motocross.
21:56Look at Lux turning up the heat.
21:58Turned down for what?
21:59He's like, my sister's going to be there in a couple weeks as well.
22:02I've got to show up.
22:03But, you know, this battle right here, I mean, Lux walks that ride that Caden's on.
22:08So there's a lot of pride for these guys.
22:10And I'm sure for, you know, Caden's race is starting to get to the second moto.
22:15He's starting to make a few mistakes, but still top 10.
22:18Great, great finishes.
22:19You can hold on, JT.
22:20Yeah, I think we remember Lux Turner telling us that story about how, you know,
22:31work a part-time job just to make enough money to go chase his dream,
22:36go back to riding for a couple weeks, and then rinse and repeat that cycle over and over and over.
22:42And you watch him now.
22:43He was really turning the corner at Supercross, becoming a top 10, top 5 guy.
22:47Now he's trying to challenge and move towards the top 5 in pro motocross.
22:51It's just a remarkable story of a guy that wasn't even good enough in this sport to be doing it
22:56full-time.
22:57Look at him now.
22:58Yeah, and as we watch Shimoda challenging Muneer, JT,
23:01also, this is no disrespect to that Bar-Axe Yamaha team,
23:04but in pro motocross, having the factory full engine is such a huge advantage.
23:09So when you see Turner well up in the top 10, you know that guy can ride.
23:14There's a great motorcycle, I'm sure, under him,
23:17but there are tricks that the top teams have, and he's taking it right to all those guys.
23:22Shimoda looking to take it to Muneer now.
23:25Yeah, Joe's doing what he did that first moto.
23:27Just unfortunate for him, that mistake cost him earlier,
23:29but that was a great pass.
23:31He can hold on to it.
23:32He'll be on the outside, so he should have the momentum to get through his corner
23:35pretty clean as he does.
23:37But, yeah, you know, going back to the Yamahas,
23:41the better you do, the more parts you get from factory Yamaha.
23:44And in this class, those little bit of parts, you see,
23:47you notice that difference on the racetrack.
23:49So the team is getting better, the rotter's getting better, and, yeah, great start for him.
23:55And now it's Romano battling.
23:57Turner's not settling.
23:59He's just moving forward.
24:00He gets Muneer, and now he's going after Romano.
24:03See, he hits the brake square bump right here.
24:05There you go.
24:06Cut him off.
24:06Cut him off.
24:07There you go.
24:07Nice pass.
24:09You can see that one coming.
24:10They got a little bit of wide.
24:11Lux since that.
24:12That was a pass to border pass, and, yeah, continue moving his way.
24:16Four, he's got a chance.
24:18Hymas.
24:18You had the in-ear communication.
24:20I'm talking to him.
24:21Yeah.
24:22Get the sense out here.
24:25And there's Hymas.
24:26Have not seen much of him today.
24:28He's up ahead in sixth.
24:30But, look, you can't tell the story both ways.
24:32With Hymas, the story has been you just got to get points, be consistent, be there.
24:36So he's actually doing that today.
24:38So even though it's not a podium or a race win, is that all right?
24:42I don't know.
24:44Yeah, I don't know.
24:45This is a battle for third right here.
24:48Router D is closing in.
24:49I don't, you can't, all these results aren't equal.
24:52Okay.
24:53And I think chance, yes, consistency, health is the number one.
24:57But he's been kind of lost in the mix.
25:00You know, where he kind of started, he's just been here.
25:02But there's really nothing that I believe, from what I've seen, that he can pull out as this battle is
25:07getting really good here,
25:07that he can pull out and be like, yeah, I have this speed or I have this.
25:11I just had this happen, bad start.
25:13He's just been kind of stuck there.
25:14So, you know, we'll see.
25:16But he's got to get through it, and we'll see what happens next week after this one.
25:20JT.
25:21And we just, you remember at the top of the show we were talking about the parity in this class
25:25and the inconsistency in years past that allowed guys like Hayden Deegan and Joe Shimoda to build these gigantic gaps
25:32over everyone else.
25:32Well, look at the way it's shaping up just here today.
25:35Now, Seth Hamaker, now he's doing his thing.
25:3747 points, that's a really respectable score.
25:40That's the type of score the championships are made of.
25:42But look behind him.
25:44It's already a 10-point gap to a guy like Cole Davies.
25:47And you think about the other people that we consider contenders, the Joe Shimodas, the Weevi Kitchens.
25:54It's not that they're necessarily riding poorly, but they're not having a great points day.
25:58So is this going to be the norm?
26:00Is Seth Hamaker going to be super consistent, build up this huge lead?
26:03Or is it going to be this yo-yo effect where a lot of 30-point days and who can
26:08manage the best of those?
26:09It still really feels like 2025 and prior where inconsistency will reign.
26:15Yeah, I agree with that.
26:17Yeah, Jason.
26:18Go ahead.
26:19No, I agree with that.
26:20You know, and especially for Levi's.
26:23These guys are still battling right here.
26:25It reminds you what didn't happen in his whole career pretty much the last couple of years.
26:29So for him, you know, he talked about it on the podium, consistency, you know, I want to work on
26:35stars.
26:36Don't worry about getting the whole shot.
26:37Just be up there.
26:38Well, he did get the best star.
26:39He goes down the first lap, and now he's battling for 16th place.
26:42And his teammates running away, and that's JT mentioned that points gap.
26:46So it's going to be difficult for him, especially the guy that doesn't nail his stars as Ryder D turns
26:51the scrub.
26:53He was hustling to get Dougie there, and he finally got it.
26:55Yeah, you kind of sense here, like, Ryder D knows, like, if I can get him now,
26:59put in a sprint, then I pretty much have this third place wrapped up in his moto.
27:04Because Cade's going to start just trying to hold on, top five, finish for him.
27:08It would be a great day.
27:10All these riders, they know their competition and probably what their mindset is.
27:14So great ride by both these guys.
27:17DeFrancisco, third in the moto.
27:19That would be a career best for him.
27:20I feel like it's a day where we're constantly mentioning career best.
27:24Maybe that is the effect of Deegan moving out of the class.
27:29DeFrancisco would, after the tough first moto, it might have been.
27:32He was up there on the first lap of the first moto.
27:35They crashed with all the way back to the last.
27:37He was just able to get it inside the points.
27:40A good bounce back for him here, 19th in moto one, and third in moto two.
27:47Yeah, I'm sure he came in this season, you know, whether he said it out in publicly.
27:51But inside, he probably felt like this is a great opportunity for him,
27:53especially off of that Supercross season.
27:56And I know the results haven't been there, but we're stubborn.
28:00You know, he's always had speed.
28:02And to have that opportunity and know who you're going to race against,
28:04he's beat everybody in this build, straight up and down.
28:07So it's not like he's afraid of anybody.
28:10Opportunity might be now.
28:11That first moto was tough for him, but great bounce back for him.
28:14Set him up soon.
28:16We have found Levi Kitchen.
28:18He's into the points, 16th right now.
28:20He's got landed Gordon right in front of him.
28:23And every position he can make from here on out would be one championship point to the good.
28:28He would be down after a day where he was the fastest rider, I would think.
28:32He'd be down 15 points on Havaker if it ends like this.
28:35Fifth overall, let's see if he can move up a bit.
28:38Yeah, this is what I want to see from Levi.
28:40Just as I mentioned that first moto with Chance Hymes, that grit, I want to see him get a bad
28:44start,
28:45you know, things aren't working out, and just fight your way up.
28:47You know, you look at this motorcycle, it's bent, you know, but he's out there fighting.
28:52And if he can somewhere get up, maybe close to the top 10 or just top 15,
28:56it would be a disappointing day for him.
28:58But I think overall it would be good for him in the championship, JT.
29:01Yeah, and you see that rider there, 872, that's Matisse Barrave.
29:05Now, he's an MXGP regular.
29:08He's actually a French national champion as well.
29:10But he's over here kind of making a wild-card appearance.
29:13We'll see how many races he ends up at this summer.
29:15But this is a rider who has a lot of experience.
29:17He was actually on the factory Kawasaki MXGP team at one time.
29:21And so it's, you know, interesting to see him up here battling with the likes of Wayne and Gordon,
29:25guys that are much, much younger than him.
29:27He has a ton of experience.
29:28But, yeah, just another aspect of this, you know, SMX World Championship we always talk about.
29:34Yeah, when I saw 27 years old on the graphic, I would have said he was north of 30 because
29:39it does feel like he's been racing overseas for a long, long time.
29:43Good to see him out here and representing well on the KTM 4MA.
29:48Now, if this ends like this and Hamaker wins the race, he'll also be the points leader.
29:52And I cannot believe this one.
29:54That team has not led the points since Adam C. and Cerullo won the title in 2019.
30:01Oh, what's happening here?
30:02Lux Turner just not giving up.
30:05He has now caught Cole Davies for six.
30:08This guy doesn't get tired.
30:10Yeah, no, Lux doesn't.
30:12Yeah, that is a strange stat.
30:13But I guess he's been having, you know, Mitch, he's been having a hard time finding his riders.
30:17So, you know, he found himself up in the lead.
30:20But we found this one.
30:21We found this one out front.
30:23But, yeah, Lux Turner, you can see it coming in his body language compared to Cole Davies.
30:28Lux is on the move.
30:29Cole seems like he's struggling with two laps to go.
30:31But this guy isn't.
30:33No way.
30:36I think he just needed to show kind of like a Davies light that he can do it in motocross.
30:41He hasn't had disastrous results in motocross, but no podiums.
30:44A couple of fourths for Hamaker last year.
30:48Kitchen.
30:49Now, wait a minute.
30:51He is getting close to the podium here.
30:53He's made a couple moves.
30:54Now he's going after Derek Kelly on the MX6 Kawasaki.
30:58And look at the podium map there.
31:00He is one point off of Dudney.
31:04He just made up that point.
31:06They'd be tied.
31:06Now, Dudney has the tiebreaker with the better second moto.
31:10Kitchen needs one more spot.
31:11And he will somehow have salvaged third overall.
31:15This is it.
31:16You know, he's got two laps.
31:17His mechanic is going to tell him.
31:19And he's got what.
31:20Let me see.
31:21This is my strongest suit.
31:23About six seconds to bowling, it seems like, in front of him.
31:27Good job.
31:28This is, yeah.
31:29I made it.
31:29You did it.
31:30Five out of four people, baby.
31:33Six seconds is going to be a lot to make up in two laps.
31:36But what a dig from Kitchen.
31:39Get some clean laps.
31:41And, yeah, I think this is very impressive ride by him.
31:45This, again, what we want to see.
31:46It'd be disappointing.
31:47But with a bit motorcycle and how the day was, great start.
31:54Now, what could also happen is, Hymus, we said how quiet he is.
31:57He's in the bottom of the screen here on the Honda HRC number 29.
32:01If he passes, doesn't he?
32:02That would also give the podium to Kitchen.
32:06Yeah, it's actually a great moto by chance.
32:08He's made a lot of passes.
32:09They both of those guys got around.
32:11Well, they're ahead of Cole Davies.
32:12So, if he can get him, as I was saying, that championship mentality and just that grit,
32:18just that chance, Hymus, and it'd go a long ways for him if he can get around, doesn't he right
32:24here?
32:25Now, we're saying it's going to be tough for Kitchen to make up six seconds and two laps.
32:29But guess what?
32:29He just went three seconds faster than Max Follin the last time around.
32:33So, if he can replicate that and make the pass, he could salvage the podium.
32:37I don't know if Hymus cares about any of this.
32:41He's headed to the win.
32:41And I don't know if Hymus really cares that he's affecting the podium.
32:46He's just riding for himself here.
32:47Yeah, all these battles right here is about your mindset going into next week and the next weekend.
32:54So, these are the little battles.
32:55So, it might not be a win, but this could be a win for them to all be like, oh,
32:59we're closed.
32:59Good second rod, good second moto.
33:02Just build, work on the bike, and then come out next week.
33:04So, let's see what they're saying to the Kawasaki pit.
33:09Will?
33:10I was curious.
33:11I just came over here to his mechanic just to see what they were writing there, to let him know,
33:14to see how away Levi was when he was that close to that third spot.
33:18And he's just written on the pit board that he had one spot for third.
33:21So, they want him to keep pushing.
33:23No doubt Levi's put the work in anyway, but they just want to let him know where he's at.
33:27I'm just going to tell everybody why.
33:28The teams pay bonuses for podiums, generally around, say, the $20,000 mark for a third overall in the 250
33:35class, give or take.
33:36So, that's a reason to go for it in the next minute to two.
33:41He can make himself 20 grand if he can dig deep.
33:45And there's that stat I was talking about.
33:48The last time this team, one of the best ever in the history of the sport,
33:52has led the points in this class was 2019 when our man Adam C.
33:57Cerullo won the opener, led the points all year, won the title.
34:02Steph Heibaker is looking to carry the red plate in the round two in Hightown.
34:06Yeah, what a great ride.
34:08I mean, overall, the whole Pro Circuit squad has been awesome today.
34:12I mean, their bikes look good.
34:13Levi looked great earlier in that first motor ride, great.
34:16The second moto, Seth has gotten better as well.
34:19Nick Morano, like, I mean, it looks good.
34:21So, I just hope they can continue this thing.
34:24But, so proud of Seth and happy for him.
34:27This guy is a beast, man.
34:29I've seen him take some hits.
34:31And he keeps fighting just like this battle for fifth place.
34:34I think Chance knows that this is possibly a podium as well.
34:37I don't think he cares.
34:39He's doing the best he can.
34:40And I, I, you already know what Chance is going to say.
34:42He's going to take the positive.
34:44Forget the first 48 minutes he rode today.
34:47He's going to be thinking about these last couple laps where he's looking a lot better.
34:50Oh, he changed my mind.
34:52He's totally.
34:53I picked up on that.
34:54All of a sudden, you're like, eh, not anymore.
34:57Yeah, I'm very fickle.
34:58Chance, this is great.
34:59This is what I needed to get out of here.
35:01Exactly.
35:01We finally saw it.
35:03And just as he got close to Dundee, a couple of mistakes, Dundee pulls it back out.
35:08It's the last lap, podium on the line.
35:10The win has already decided.
35:12It's going to be Seth Hamaker, the only non-Yamaha rider to win in Supercross.
35:16He's going to do it again in Luma Cross.
35:18Congratulations, Seth Hamaker.
35:20You're a winner outdoors.
35:22Great job, Seth.
35:24And a great job by Julian Vermeer.
35:27Lovely five seconds behind him.
35:28Great second moto.
35:30Coming off the injury, you can see how much that means for Seth.
35:35Waiting.
35:35Here's Joe battling the indefatigable Lux Turner right to the line.
35:42Turner is sixth on the Bar-X Yamaha.
35:45What a ride for the young man from Reno.
35:49And there's Seth and his mom, Sally.
35:51He got it done.
35:53Great job, Seth.
35:54Great job.
35:55Joe Shimoda is becoming the Mike Larocco.
35:57You know, when you turn around, you see that third.
35:58You just know he's always going to be there.
36:01Great fight for all these guys.
36:03Great rides.
36:03So much emotion.
36:04First win for Hamaker.
36:05You see Bomer how tough he is with the great comeback ride.
36:09Kitchen.
36:10We're still going to wait to see how the podium turns out here.
36:15Yeah, I'm looking at the lap time.
36:17It's going to be.
36:18He was only within the second.
36:21Levi.
36:22At the moment, it is a three-rider tie for six.
36:25At the moment, it is a three-rider tie for six.
