West Indies coach Daren Sammy says it's important for the Windies batters to shine against the spinners if they are to beat Sri Lanka in next month's three-match ODI series in the Caribbean.

He's currently at the training camp in Antigua, doing some work with the players ahead of the series.

00:00It's business as usual as players are making the necessary preparations for next week's ODI series in Jamaica involving West
00:07Indies and Sri Lanka.
00:09Windy's coach Darren Sammy is pleased with what he's seen so far at the training camp in Antigua to get
00:15the men in Maroon ready for action.
00:16I was just speaking with coach Gibson and coach Floyd and just the captain She-Hope.
00:23Just from what we've been seeing, the guys are putting in the work on it. If it's one thing we've
00:28noticed, well I've noticed, even when I was playing, when we prepare and put some time into our preparation before
00:36series, we normally hit the ground running.
00:39Sammy considers the Caribbean a fortress for the West Indies in ODI cricket since the team has four consecutive bilateral
00:45series wins.
00:46The 42-year-old says there are a number of factors that have made them successful at home.
00:51Basically what we've been able to do at home, you know, our spinners being able to take wickets in the
00:56middle, our same fast bowlers in Jadon Seals, Azari, Jose, Shubar, Josef, they've contributed with getting wickets up front and
01:05putting pressure on their position.
01:07But the most important thing is the way our batsmen have come out in our conditions and scored big runs,
01:13you know.
01:14Having said that, Sammy expects the Sri Lankans to be familiar with the conditions in the Caribbean since it's similar
01:20to theirs back home.
01:22So what's the key to beating the visitors?
01:25But I think the battle this series is how well we play their spinners and how well our fast bowlers
01:32bowl against their batsmen up front.
01:35And all work we've done throughout the camp has been geared towards, you know, getting better in those areas.
01:44Sammy is urging those in Jamaica to come out and support the Windies in the three ODIs at Sabina Park.
01:50We know it now.
01:51Now I need to use export.
